Presumably, since the last public meeting on Q2 updates were released, go check the Q forums for specifics, they likely should not be spending additional money for licensing with the likes of Disney (or similar movie releases). It is very costly to do that I understand. Collaborations with a movie release are also a very specific niche, that includes people’s taste related to the actors, characters, messaging or to the storyline and actually can reduce the amount of purchases.
The parent company has publicly stated their next move is pushing toward streaming and TikTok sales, and that is where they are clearly spending their money. Hiring “influencers” for style (clothing and home) shows on HSNQVC+ costs money, sorry but I am not watching that. Who are these people anyway, lol.

This was Pre-Qurate takeover. 4 flex pay was the NORM, this switch to 2 and 3 flex pay is crazy. HSN had better shoe lines featured.Steve Madden created fantastic shoes only available on HSN.Perlier and Korres used to offer beautiful sets for the Holidays. Now it’s just generic merchandise. I like Christie Brinkley, Vivica Fox and Jacqueline Smith when they were on Shop NBC not so great as the end all for HSN.Overall, HSN used to carry better brands and more unique products. They got rid of Iman which is a shame. I still have handbags from Joy/Iman collab years ago. I started with HSN from Day 1 so I remember when they were head to head with QVC. Those days are long gone.Sad as I watch the slow and steady decline of a great shopping platform.

Yes, HSN has been declining before the move. Anybody saying give them a chance isn’t being reasonable. After a month and a half, things don’t look promising. QVC issues a financial report every 3 months. The Q isn’t doing well either. Time is not going to help. It is sad. HSN has always been my favorite.
Not mean.Truthful and expressive.We spend money and if we have opinions as paying longtime customers so be it! I spend money on QVC as well as HSN since day one. The QVC unit is tight and coordinated. Quarter treats HSN like the homely stepchild and it is evident more now than ever.Thank goodness for the seasoned hosts that made the move because they are trying their best to keep it together. The PA models are all over the place and not up to standards. The models from Florida deserved more than what they got…the kaboot. They added value and it was not appreciated or reciprocated when HSN moved.
HSN has been devalued on Quarate’s balance sheet. HSN No longer an asset. a write-off. take a look at the 2nd Qtr. call. QVC isnt doing that great.
Q is throwing everything at their own wall. Going full-bore into SM Tik Tok…They’re losing revenue big-time hoping to stop the bleeding.
this is the reason for HSN’s slip-shod production values. HSN has been devalued.

I think that the HSN move to PA was just a transitional step in the channel basically getting absorbed into QVC, so they are not putting much effort into establishing it in PA as a fully functioning entity like it was in Florida. How could HSN fire 900+ employees in Florida and then move everything to PA and everything would proceed as it was? They definitely did not HIRE 900 new people to replace the ones they lost…
Even from the on air and host perspective: I believe the hosts who did not move to PA just saw the writing on the wall and did not want to make a major life adjustment for something they will only be doing for another year or two before QVC just takes everything over. I also think the new class of HSN hosts being touted all over their social media is a way for us to like them so we are more forgiving when most of them fall short of the traditional standard of hosting. I have been watching home shopping across multiple channels for many years and have never seen any of the channels bring out 6/8 new hosts at one time and make sure the audience knows “these are our new class”. They usually just get casually thrown in one by one or hired as-needed.
I think it all amounts to more Q, less H.
Posted in Forum: HSN TVI used to really enjoy watching and purchasing from HSN but since the move to PA things have changed; they don’t have all of the products to display on air, the models are all skinny, unprofessional and hard to watch, the program hosts (even the experienced ones) just seem off their game and the variety is gone. It looks like a high school production company has taken over the channel. I used to argue with my friends that HSN was better than QVC, I can’t do that anymore and it’s really sad!
I like Colleen but I agree i just don’t see this working in the long run unless Colleen actually is in studio in Pennsylvania…. There’s a lag i think with audio so everyone just talks over each other! It happens on QVC too with Sisan Graver when she’s not in studio. It works out best when they are in the same place together. I know it has to feel awkward to be Lynnđź’—
OMG!!! I thought the same thing and could not figure our if it was my TV or QVC. They are blasting us with these sound effects hurting my ears… please HSN/QVC audio managers, tone it down. This constant “over stimulation” of our SENSE (including our ears) is a huge stress factor in general in our world… especially for us seniors!
I agree to many lonely miserable folks need a different activity other than watching HSN and QVC 24-7 and looking for fault in the hosts or models constantly. its either their weight or the way they move their hands or the way they talk or their nail polish. I bet they dont spend thier money that often, but tune in to their favorite movie HSN, QVC as the Critics. I believe some complaints are warranted but this is like HSN COMMUNITY GOSSIP.. Listening to these folks they will help close HSN down and run shoppers away with their negativity about…..NOTHING.
This didn’t just happen when they moved to PA. It was easier to hide the flaws because they still had seasoned hosts out there to cover. Now with hosts working 4 hour shifts in many cases, until the new hosts come up to par, and the others have made their moves, it only shows the weaknesses of the newer hosts even more. Nothing has changed except we are stuck with inexperience that is going unchecked. Those of us who have been with HSN through so many years (43 years for me and I’m not the only one) are sad, disappointed, and somewhat disgusted how HSN is morphing into the worst parts of QVC. Constructive criticism is not meant to be mean. People twist words and see meanness where none was ever meant. Also, the lack of diversity with the new hosts is glaring. Not putting the new ladies down at all, it’s just bad planning on HSN’s and Qurate’s end.
I was also cancelled by QVC many years ago. In all fairness, I must say I did buy a lot of fashion & jewelry, and returned about 50%. QVC did send me a warning letter before they cancelled, advising me of my return rate. Now I am much more careful with my purchases at HSN, and I rarely buy fashions or jewelry.
QVC did this to me many yrs ago and I had not returned many things at all…you know ‘if it doesn’t fit ‘ they did it to me at Christmas buying time. I hope HSN doesn’t do this to me with their new location. I buy a lot, but sometimes either it doesn’t fit or the look on me is wrong, not as seen on TV, allergic reaction on my skin. I love HSN and hope they are around for a long time. I bought several things this afternoon…. Active Argan…love their products.
Posted in Forum: HSN TVHello, I started to noticed how the flex pays have gone down. Is there a reason for this? I am saving money because I can’t afford large payments. I was looking at a dress tonight and it only has two flex payments on a $60 purchase. I started shopping because of the flex pays. On the last craft day. I couldn’t do what I would usually do because of the larger payments. However, I guess I am being weaned off shopping like this.
Also, who are these models on tv? So far I can’t relate to any of them and not to be negative, but a gal with a permanent smile is just freaky.
Just FYI for HSN, I shop for clothes most of the time on QVC. Hsn needs more variety. Just because some younger people are shopping line doesn’t mean they will remain loyal as your older customers
