Dec. 3 2024 New Galaxy Phone & bundle arrives. I spent 6 hours one Sunday with my Daughter trying to get it activated. Then an additional hour three more times, THAT IS 9 HOURS.
Still will not accept the bundle part of the phone activation.
This is outrageous. Tracfone says no plan associated with the phone. Activation website will not work. HSN was no help. Tracfone is no help. THIS IS A TRUE NIGHTMARE !!!

Stay away from anything related to Verizon!! They used to be ok. Now, they have a robot that won’t connect you to a human at customer service even though it says it’s going to.
I had the worst month of my cell phone life with them. I switched, but it wasn’t easy. You have to fight them to get the information you need to transfer. Worst service ever. Couldn’t get calls or texts. THAT’S what happened to TracFone, if Verizon took them over.
Cut your losses and go with someone else. Make sure they aren’t owned by Verizon. I’ve noticed they’ve bought a bunch of companies recently.
Posted in Forum: Talk Among YourselvesI have used Tracfone wireless for 8yrs and never had a problem. This one is a nightmare. I purchased a new phone at HSN in August and activation was a breeze. Minutes from my old phone rolled over and I kept the same phone number. On 10/15 I couldn’t make calls. 10/16 Tracfone zeroed out my account. The rep at Tracfone only gave me back 1,000 talk text data. I lost 3gigs etc. 10/17 Tracfone yet again zeroed out my account. Today they insulted me again and gave me 1,000 talk text data. I’ll never get back the hours I’ve spent with their so called CS. Service was way better before Verizon bought them. What good is a cell phone if you can’t use it. Dang.
I just activated a Samsung Galaxy A13 Tracfone that I purchased 11 months ago. Obviously, when it shipped it had the latest version of the software. 11 months later the phone wanted to schedule a software update. I updated it. Then, it wanted to update again and again. I called Tracfone and they could not help me. They told me to call Samsung. What I discovered is the Galaxy does not update to the latest version in just ONE update. You have to go through each update one at a time to get to the latest version. I thought the phone was broken, but after 4 successive updates the phone was on the latest software and working “just fine”. So, when the HSN/QVC host says you have 1 year to activate the phone, don’t panic with multiple updates if you wait a long time to activate your software. I was disappointed that Tracfone told me to call Samsung without a little more knowledge. In the end, everything was fine!
Maybe I have been lucky, but I had Tracfones for years and never really had a problem with them. Some phones are better than others, but I think that is the phone and not Tracfone service. I don’t pay attention to much of what the hosts say as all of them oversell.
I had a similar problem with Tracfone, My telephone stopped working and when I contacted Tracfone, they told me to send it back and I will get a replacement in 3 to 5 days once they receive my broken phone back. It is nearly a month later and I still have not gotten a replacement phone. I must have spoken with 20 to 25 people at Tracfone and I have gotten no place with them. All I get is one excuse after another, but no phone, One of their reps accually told me that sometimes they say they will send a replacement phone but they never do. Tracfone is the worst company I have ever dealt with,. HSN should be ashamed and embarrassed to be associated with Tracfone. I agree with reviewer and think Tracfone should reimbursed us for our phone and for believing all the wonderful things HSN said about Tracfone. And by the way, I spoke to HSN customer rep and told them about my problem and I was told that someone from HSN will look into and get back to me, but not person has. I may be finished with both Tracfone and HSN!!!!

I purchased this item because the biggest feature was that I didn’t have to activate the item for a year or more.
Unfortunately, I tried to activate the item, and it didn’t work. The problem is that the phone doesn’t work, and I need the phone because my wife and I are in our 80s and I need to have a phone with us when we’re away from home, in case we need help. I spent about 4 hours on my home phone with Tracfone this week, and they weren’t able to help me, and I did some research and found out that what happened to me is happening to hundreds of people, and many of those people are complaining to higher authorities.
Obviously, there’s a valid reason why I didn’t return this item in 60 days. By copy of this letter, I’m requesting that you refund my money. If you want me to return the defective cellphone to you, your technicians can prove that the item is defective.

I have been using Tracfone for several years now. I always activate the phone by logging into tracfone website on my laptop. I click activate, click that I want to keep my same number, then a box will pop up if you want to enter a physical imei number. That is where you enter that number from the red card in the box. In less than 10 minutes the new phone is working. I always take a screenshot of my buckets of text, talk and data to see if the total adds up correctly. If the numbers do not add up correctly, I do a live chat with tracfone and they have always been very responsive.
Tracfone is absolutely becoming a HORRIBLE choice in cell phone coverage..
I’ve always used Tracfone..mainly because I did not want to get ‘tied up’ in a monthly
service plan..Recenly..However..after experiencing endless issues…endless hours on the phone with their
horrible customer service…endless hours with their ‘online chat’ *& still NO help..
it prompted me to return my Tracfone purchase I recently made from HSN..Also have a Nokia FlipFone with Tracfone & its going to end up in the trash..mainly because
of the same horrible experience with their customer service & NO issues resolved..Am hoping HSN will deeply consider whether or not to keep offering phones with
Tracfone service..
Finally after calling TracFone for 6 days and no one being able to help w/my 5g phone to make or receive calls the Manager’s office was able to figure it out in less than 2 minutes. They stated they just learned about a setting in the phone since work was recently done on the towers. Customer service is getting horrible.
I have used TracFone for quiet a few years now.We have three in service now.When I started using TracFone I set up an online account for each person that uses them.I have never had an issue activating or porting my number.I do it all online using the account.I am usually completely transferred and ready to use the new phone within 10 minutes.
The older phones do phase out in time as 4 g and 5 g has gone into effect.They notify you on the site if you have one that s going to stop working and the date you need to upgrade to keep the service working.
I have 2 older Tracfones, & my elderly Dad has an older Tracfone. Since Tuesday last week, all 3 phones will not make calls out, or receive calls. 😢
You are correct. The customer service is awful. HSN should not be selling their phones or allowing them airtime. I originally had a TracFone that I purchased from HSN where HSN aired triple minutes. A couple years later purchased another phone to replace the one I had and as long as you kept the same number you continued to receive the triple minutes. HSN did not state that when airing, but it was on the card they displayed on air. The last 4 days I have not been able to make or receive calls and no help from tracphone after being on the phone with them for hours. Called HSN and from the response I received they knew tracphone was phasing the triple minutes out regardless if you had that triple minute extra. Both tracphone and HSN are for the bait and switch. Please pass the word on that HSN is really declining. First time I ever had to contact them over many years of purchasing from them for so called bundles they you cannot receive anywhere else and clearly they do not care.
I found out today, AFTER BEING ON THE PHONE FOR 4 HOURS, TEXTING FOR 4 HOURS, that my Tracfone will not receive calls or make calls. So, our Tracfone’s will just be expensive door stops. Verizon bought Tracfone and now Verizon wants us to UPGRADE to their system and phone’s.
