TracFone experience

I ordered a phone that had a TracFone service. Dealing with TracFone customer service is a nightmare. First, they activated the phone without even asking me if I wanted my number ported. Then they would not port my number without me buying another subscription. Then when I finally was able to talk to someone who would port the number without losing my subscription, I thought all would be OK. They were to call me back in six hours. When they called back, they tried to transfer me to another department, and I got disconnected. Each time I tried to call back, their robot kept hanging up on me. I tried everything I could think of and could not get through to anyone who could help. Out of frustration, I finally gave up and sent the phone back.

    I have been using Tracfone for several years now. I always activate the phone by logging into tracfone website on my laptop. I click activate, click that I want to keep my same number, then a box will pop up if you want to enter a physical imei number. That is where you enter that number from the red card in the box. In less than 10 minutes the new phone is working. I always take a screenshot of my buckets of text, talk and data to see if the total adds up correctly. If the numbers do not add up correctly, I do a live chat with tracfone and they have always been very responsive.

    Tracfone is absolutely becoming a HORRIBLE choice in cell phone coverage..

    I’ve always used Tracfone..mainly because I did not want to get ‘tied up’ in a monthly
    service plan..

    Recenly..However..after experiencing endless issues…endless hours on the phone with their
    horrible customer service…endless hours with their ‘online chat’ *& still NO help..
    it prompted me to return my Tracfone purchase I recently made from HSN..

    Also have a Nokia FlipFone with Tracfone & its going to end up in the trash..mainly because
    of the same horrible experience with their customer service & NO issues resolved..

    Am hoping HSN will deeply consider whether or not to keep offering phones with
    Tracfone service..

    Finally after calling TracFone for 6 days and no one being able to help w/my 5g phone to make or receive calls the Manager’s office was able to figure it out in less than 2 minutes. They stated they just learned about a setting in the phone since work was recently done on the towers. Customer service is getting horrible.

    I have used TracFone for quiet a few years now.We have three in service now.When I started using TracFone I set up an online account for each person that uses them.I have never had an issue activating or porting my number.I do it all online using the account.I am usually completely transferred and ready to use the new phone within 10 minutes.
    The older phones do phase out in time as 4 g and 5 g has gone into effect.They notify you on the site if you have one that s going to stop working and the date you need to upgrade to keep the service working.

    I have 2 older Tracfones, & my elderly Dad has an older Tracfone. Since Tuesday last week, all 3 phones will not make calls out, or receive calls. 😢

    No good customer service from either TracFone or HSN. Maybe they do not really want to work so they make you hold on like they are trying to fix your problem, but really do not help.

    You are correct. The customer service is awful. HSN should not be selling their phones or allowing them airtime. I originally had a TracFone that I purchased from HSN where HSN aired triple minutes. A couple years later purchased another phone to replace the one I had and as long as you kept the same number you continued to receive the triple minutes. HSN did not state that when airing, but it was on the card they displayed on air. The last 4 days I have not been able to make or receive calls and no help from tracphone after being on the phone with them for hours. Called HSN and from the response I received they knew tracphone was phasing the triple minutes out regardless if you had that triple minute extra. Both tracphone and HSN are for the bait and switch. Please pass the word on that HSN is really declining. First time I ever had to contact them over many years of purchasing from them for so called bundles they you cannot receive anywhere else and clearly they do not care.
