I have not received the increase letter yet from HSN, but I expect it soon. I have 2 other credit cards that are handled by SYNCHRONY BANK and I have received the increase letters for them, so today I canceled both those credit cards. For me it is not about the higher interest because I pay on time and never receive an interest charge, but I am totally against the $1.99 “paper” fee I would receive with each paper bill. When i buy paper for my computer it costs a couple of pennies per sheet, so why would I want to pay for a paper bill, not to mentions that one bill a month would add up to almost $24.00 a year – it’s like a tax! It’s not the money, it’s the principle. I realize if I go to electronic statements that fee is waived, but I do not pay bills or open statements on computer or phone, because I used to do it until my info was stolen and now that email address is on the dark web, and also someone used my card to buy dinner and stuff in Texas where I have never been, so I refuse doing anything with money on the internet. Anyway, when I get the letter for my HSN account I will cancel the card. If I want to buy something I’ll use Master Card for it and get that statement without a paper fee!

Synchrony stopped sending me paper bills without asking many months ago. I use my HSN card only when there are irresistible offers available only if using it and even then sometimes hesitate to order the discounted item. If HSN so badly wants people to use its card, perhaps they should consider using another bank to handle it. I pay my bill In full so thankfully the interest rate raise doesn’t affect me; I can only imagine how hard this will make it for those who do.

I did NOT get a letter about this for HSN yet, but I am expecting one because a already got this notice for 2 other company’s charge cards. It is SYNCHRONY BANK, who handles many companies charge cards, and it is Synchrony making these changes. I do not mind the high interest rates because when you use the value pay system and pay on time you never get interest. I always pay on time so I personally don’t care about this increase. However, I do object to a $1.99 charge each month for a paper statement. So a bill every month will add up to about $24.00 a year for just paper. Paper charges are ridiculous and I will not pay for paper! It’s not even the money, It’s the principle about paying their paper fee when a whole pack of paper I buy for my printer only costs a few pennies a sheet. I think it is their way of trying to get us all to pay by electronic means. I do not do anything with money via phone or computer because my info was already stolen once and so I no longer pay or look at billing info on the internet. Therefore, I will be canceling my cards from Synchrony as I get these notices. If I want to buy something on HSN, I can use a Mastercard or Visa. It’s really the principle here – I won’t pay for a paper bill. I will only use a charge card that doesn’t charge a paper fee!

I’m sorry that you’ve been through so much with us, @bobbigirl3. Rest assured, our FlexPay option is set up through HSN directly. We do not use a 3rd party source for this option which allows us to offer FlexPay with no interest or fees. It sounds like this might have been an HSN Credit card charge. If so, they are handled by our partners at Synchrony Bank. You can reach them out 844-889-9676 for additional information. If you would like us to look into this further, we would be happy to review the order with you by providing us with your Order Number at HSNSocialCare@hsn.com.

Synchrony will also arbitrarily close your accounts. I’ve been a HSN customer for over 15 years; just got a card within the last three years. I’ve always paid my balance down or sent more than minimum payment on time. Because of an unexpected kitchen replacement, I used more credit than usual but continued on time payments. My account was closed for among other reasons
“Lack Of Real Estate Secured Loan Information”. No one at Synchrony or the credit union can explain what that means. How do you close an account but can’t explain why?
Synchrony is not a good financial partner for HSN. They charge exorbitant interest rates, do not consider past/current payment history or have knowledgeable customer service reps. I’ve moved any remaining flex pays to another card and don’t plan to place another HSN/QVC order. Be very wary of Synchrony – they also service other retailers like Lowe’s and Mattress Firm.

I opened an HSN card last October in order to get $50 off an item I needed. By the time the second payment was upcoming, I still had not received the invoice from Synchrony Bank and each time I spoke with them they just kept saying it had been sent just wait a bit longer! They would not accept a payment from me until I could call them with the HSN-card Number and Invoice and HSN were unable to help. I don’t like waiting past due dates to make payments because I avoid interest at all costs, and I got impatient and ended up paying off all the due flexpays using another card, and canceled the HSN-card. However, the item malfunctioned and had to be returned. HSN refunded me what I paid them and I never noticed that I had not received a refund of the original amount from the HSN-card and had to chase that up myself. I have just last week, 16th February, received a check from Synchrony Bank! Everyone out there who may be in a similar situation – don’t forget to check your refunds because some of it might be waiting for you to ask for it back at Synchrony Bank!

Posted in Forum: HSN TVBeware of the outrageous interest rates being charged by Synchrony bank. If you have an HSN card, use it sparingly or pay off asap. HSN has been partnered with this Loan Shark level banking institution for a long time, and their interest rates are 10% or higher than most other cards. Just so disappointed in the quality of HSN product lines lately, then being poked in the eye by Synchrony is a double insult. I will be on a full payment at time of purchase basis with HSN for any future purchases. I am fastidious in my financial obligations, with a FICO score of 839, so I’m not a slouch when it comes to managing my purchases. Unfortunately, I DO like Andrew Lessman products, and the occasional modestly priced piece from the Mine Finds collections, but otherwise, no thanks. Sad commentary on the decline of HSN, which used to be a fun place to visit, watch, and shop. All done with my ramble. Thanks.

I would be happy to look into this with you! I do see that you have an HSN card on your account. Did you want to add a new one, or were you wanting to make payments? If so, you would need to reach out to our partners, Synchrony Bank, directly at 844-889-9676.

This may have something to do with Synchrony Bank. I’ve been a good HSN card holder for at least three years, 100% on time payment history, multiple double minimum payments made, have paid off card once, etc. On 12/17 I received an email advising my credit limit has been lowered leaving me with $45 during Christmas. The biggest issue is that lowering the credit limit also lowers my credit score.
Synchrony Bank is generating lots of complaints about treating loyal customers this way. It’s not illegal but it’s smarmy. I’m only one person, but I won’t be ordering from HSN or QVC anymore after more than 15 years. HSN/QVC have partnered with Synchrony and a company is judged by its choice of partners.
Merry Christmas and I hope you all get your money back in time to have the holiday you want.

Gaack.! When I finally checked on the Synchrony B ank interest rates I was mortified. I know The Feds set rates, banks comply, companies’ contract with banks , and voila, the consumer gets stuck. Now, to beat them at their own game, I do balance transfers to cards offering 0% interest for 12-18- months and find it’s worth the 3-4-5% fee to make those transfers. IYou can save gobs of money with a balance transfer if you purchase items on the HSN or QVC credit cards. The rates are obnoxious. and insulting. Especially when hosts have to encourage customers to apply for the cards and make us feel like it’s a good thing. Extra easy pays, for example.
I don’t get out to shop at local stores, and unfortunately am a sucker for a good product , so I am guilty of shopping online… probably too much.

Any card with issued with Synchrony Bank seems to have a very high interest rate.I have seven different store cards with Synchrony and the lowest rate is over 25% and I have a very good credit score.Capitol One also has high rates for some reason.I only use one or two cards now that either have a 0% promo rate or very low rate.
Unless you can pay it off monthly in full or doing flex pays the HSN card is way to much at 32.24% [thats what mine is now]. Its not HSN causing this its the bank that issues the card. Many people are not using store cards now due to the insane interest rates on the cards.

Synchrony bank was no help at all. I do not understand how my flexpay with HSN & my HSN card could be over a thousand dollars different. I changed my payment method to my visa. HSN got paid. I know I paid twice for quite a few items. I am not happy. I have been ill. I will have to sit down and start filing disputes. I did pay the card off so I would not have my very good credit ruined.

Since I can’t post a new topic, I will tell you that something is not right with HSN. How I had a zero flex pay balance & my HSN card had me owing around $1500.00 at the same time is beyond me. I have never received a real answer other than the fact if you change your payment method HSN does not notify Synchrony band your HSN cc. Some help would have been nice! I have paid an expensive price for a lesson I won’t forget. I paid because I have a very high credit score. If I didn’t, I would never have paid Synchrony. It’s like no one really looked at it. I will deal with it after Labor Day.

Synchrony bank & HSN has been of no help at all. I don’t understand why in April my flex pays showed zero owed. My HSN credit card had me owing around $1500.00 I paid them & will investigate more myself. It will have to wait until after Labor Day. I am disgusted.

I changed my flex pay to my Visa. If you read above a moderator said they do not notify Synchrony bank if you pay by a different method. Why HSN allows you to change a payment method is not right. If they don’t notify you HSN card they get paid twice!
