NATIONAL PACKAGE PROTECTION DAY
National Package Protection Day encourages homeowners to stay alert during these high delivery times. The Wednesday after Thanksgiving is a time to remind us to protect our homes against package theft, which becomes more and more prevalent during the holidays.
The internet has made it easier to find deals and have packages shipped straight to our homes. But this has also made it easier for thieves to snatch our deliveries right from our doorsteps. Cyber Monday, in particular, is a big online shopping day where most purchases are shipped directly to the buyer’s home.
With the advent of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, there became a need for a day that raises awareness of package theft and helps homeowners protect themselves against thieves. And just like that, Package Protection Day was born.

Both Sarahs are pretty tough to watch. Sarah A was delightful when she came over from ShopHQ but really has struggled with the “larger” emphasis on her role in the host lineup since being brought up from FL. Sarah T is also tough to watch. Baby talk and the constant referring to her as a Disney Princess and singing is obnoxious.

Posted in Forum: Customer ServiceAgain, HSN presented a false statement, false information, Mispresentation of the BONUS BUY.
I just spoke with Kristine/CS she spoke to her supervisor and said the same thing.I had 3 beekman item in my cart, totaling $85.
After I was talking with Kristine, and Hsn is NOT honoring what they said in life presentation, I had deleted all items from my cart.
I have been with this company for so, so many years. spent Thousands of dollars.
I’m DONE.
OH and Kristine submitted my complaint, also she said, she agreed with me.99.9 percent of items presented on HSN, we can find on AMAZON, EBAY, and more website. oh and also ROSS stores. I purchased a 9oz soap at ROSS for $4.99
NOw, why would I give my money to this company if they can’t even explain correctly the “bonus buy” .
I’m really upset.
Sales, is not just selling, it’s also to keep the customer, and have referrals.
that’s a good sales practice.

Hi. I saw you posting while I was visiting hubby. He did a double take when he saw me. I brought him up to date on the renovation. What I went through yesterday was comical. He loved it when I
mentioned the last phone call from the contractor. He burst out laughing when I told him of the ultimatum about starting everything today. Guess cleaning out two closets gave him second thoughts. It was good to see him laugh again. He does have the beginnings of dementia. That is OK. I know he will have good days and then not so good. It seems to run in his family. Then again, serving puree foods didn’t help this. As I said previously, there are many new things on the market that may prolong the inevitable. Then again, a change in diet is something I am also considering.Thanksgiving here will be on the cold side. However, it will only last until Saturday and then it will be in the 80s. I sort of had a taste of the cold tonight at the rehab. The A/C was on and it was really cold. Could not wait to leave and feel the warmth of the radiator. Luckily, I had a sweatshirt with me that helped somewhat. And to think I put the A/C on when I arrived home.
Have a great evening. Definitely make a special plate just for Poppy. I'[m sure that tail will be wagging from the minute he sees his bowl or plate until everything is gone. I surmise the plate will be thoroughly cleaned when done.

No, no notification at all. I originally started auto ship in 2024. I don’t believe they are even offering auto ship on the 2pk anymore. My first auto ship in 2025 I only received a 1 pk. Called HSN and was told that an error had been made and my account showed it should have been a 2pk. I was sent the second jar free of charge. Before the 2nd auto ship in Nov. 2025, I called HSN to double check my account and verify that it was for a 2pk. Representative verified it was and said she would put a notice on my account to ship a 2pk, not a 1pk. I again received a 1pk. Called again and after talking to a supervisor, he said the original order was for a 2pk and would be a 1pk thereafter. Also said it was a special promotion. Nowhere on the presentation or on the auto ship did it state that. I have called HSN three times on this AS and no one else ever mentioned that or I would have cancelled after the first shipment. Also, on my auto ship account that I have access to online, it still states it is for a 2pk. This was the first time I have used auto ship and will be my last.

NATIONAL ESPRESSO DAY
Get the pure coffee essence on National Espresso Day! Whether you sip one cup or keep buzzing all day long, November 23rd is the day.
The word espresso (/ɛˈsprɛsoʊ/; Italian pronunciation: [e ˈsprɛsso]) in Italian means ‘quick in time.’ Before the advent of the espresso machine, espresso was simply a coffee expressly made for the person ordering it. It was also made with recently roasted and freshly ground beans. The cup was brewed shortly before serving. In the late 1800s, this practice was commonplace in cafés and restaurants.
While today’s espresso maintains the freshness quality, it has undergone a transition in meaning. We’ve come to know espresso as a highly concentrated brew served in smaller quantities. We may also use espresso as a base for other delicious coffee creations.
We can thank the espresso machine for this modern view of espresso. In 1901, Italian Luigi Bezzera invented the first successful espresso machine. The newer technologies produced a smaller, more concentrated cup more quickly than traditional coffee brewing methods. Additionally, this thicker, more intense brew created a creamy foam on top called the crema. The richer flavors and aromas of an espresso create delicious lattes, mochas, cappuccinos, macchiatos, and many café creations.
Beyond the range of beverages, the intense flavor of espresso lends itself to baking. Where coffee may become lost when blended with other flavors, espresso remains vibrant. Blend it with cream cheese, sugar and flour for a cheesecake. Add it to ladyfingers and make tiramisu. Many desserts call for espressos such as ice cream and crème brûlée.

Absolutely, ennui. It is even more noticeable with lab rubies and sapphires. They look perfect, but even though, not fake, the color perfection and brilliance seem strange or sterile compared to Mother Nature’s gems. That said, I understand lab grown fans are considering how much more bang or bling they get for their budgets. Also, no need to certify “cruelty free” when lab grown.

Well, famous last words from yesterday. I did not go marketing. Decided to do other things and to see hubby. When I arrived he looked pretty good and seemed to be OK. At least he is getting extra food. I signed up for the Thanksgiving dinner at the Rehab. I would have liked to either have him home or to go out to eat. He definitely needs a day away from that place and I will be making the phone call again to see if something can be done. His roommate has returned home. His remark to me a few days ago was that he was losing weight while being in the rehab. This one I certainly will miss. He was very talkative and kept hubs spirits up.
Tomorrow or Friday I will make a trip to Costco to see what I can leave with the nurses. I’m not sure if the second shift shares what I bring with the others. So sad if they don’t. I also want to try to get to the rehab earlier. I also need to discover a way to get hubs out and about when he returns home. We will need to go furniture shopping for the great room and the den. Not sure on the master bedroom. Time will tell on that one.
I hope you are feeling better. Those sinus attacks are something else. You would think with the cooler temps it would be non existent. Seems to make it worse. Oh well. Live and learn and try to do whatever.

NATIONAL HOMEMADE BREAD DAY
On November 17th, homes will fill with warm, comforting aromas reminding us to slow down and enjoy National Homemade Bread Day.
Yeast bread calls for us to slow down. We need to spend time with each other as we work the dough and let it rest and rise before baking. Quick breads allow a special treat to share and enjoy with coffee or tea. Other homemade breads, such as donuts, pretzels, muffins, and biscuits, add variety to our everyday meals. And making them with friends and family brings joy and an opportunity to exchange recipes.
Those who make homemade bread commit to using good ingredients and investing in the time. They make it not only because they love the flavor, but because they know the people they love to do also. Homemade bread enriches the flavors of our meals and the flavors of our conversations, too.
Bread is full of symbolism around the world, across cultures and religions. In our lives, bread is valuable. We consider our livelihood to be our daily bread. We are making it, breaking it, consuming it as part of our faith. Bread can be exciting if it’s sliced or boring if it’s white. There’s a bonus bread, too. However, it seems a bit messy if it’s buttered on both sides. Then again, when we roll in the dough, it’s messy, too. Bake it, and it becomes heavy bread, but it means the same thing.

I’m so sorry for the frustration this has caused. I’ve gone ahead and fully refunded your order, and if you still have the replacement item, please feel free to keep it. I’ve also shared this information with our team to look into the issue further. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. 💙

NATIONAL CLEAN OUT YOUR REFRIGERATOR DAY
National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day on November 15th encourages us to prepare for the upcoming holidays. Get together a soap and hot water-filled bucket, disinfectant, a sponge, and a garbage bag. Then you will be ready for the day!
With family gathering and a large turkey waiting to be roasted, cleaning out the refrigerator makes sense. Not only will we need room before the meals, but we also need space for all of the upcoming leftovers. Many dread this job. However, it is an important task nonetheless.
Due to our hectic and busy lifestyles, the cleaning of the refrigerator gets neglected. Hence the creation of National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. There may be a surprise or two found at the back of the shelves. Things are often pushed back as new food is put in the front and gets forgotten.

Gregory Peck kept a sealed envelope in his desk labeled “FINCH,” and when the studio lawyer finally opened it during contract negotiations for To Kill a Mockingbird, he found a letter from Harper Lee warning Peck that the producers were trying to cut her out of the profits.
The room went silent.
Peck closed the folder and said, “We fix this now, or I do not play Atticus Finch.”
This was the scandal no one expected from Hollywood’s “gentleman.”
Universal wanted the film.
They wanted Peck.
But they tried to push through a deal that left Harper Lee — whose book had sold millions — with almost nothing. Peck discovered it by accident when Lee mailed him that envelope with a note:
“Greg, I trust you more than them. Please help me protect this story.”
Peck took that personally.
He met Lee in person days later. She told him her biggest fear was that Hollywood would “turn Atticus into a cardboard hero.” Peck promised her that would never happen. She handed him her father’s old pocket watch. Peck later said that gift felt heavier than any award he ever held.
The scandal escalated when Universal attempted a quiet rewrite softening the courtroom speech to make it “less political.” Peck refused to film it. He returned the pages to the producers and wrote in the margin, “Atticus tells the truth. If you want soft, cast someone else.”
Behind the scenes, the studio panicked.
They needed his name.
But they also needed the film to be safe enough for Southern markets.
Peck refused to compromise.
He told the director, “If Atticus bends, the film breaks.”
The pressure built until the studio delivered an ultimatum threatening to delay production. Peck responded by telling Harper Lee the entire fight. She flew to Los Angeles unannounced, stormed into the production office, and backed Peck publicly. That confrontation ended the dispute. The original speech stayed. So did the integrity of the film.
The twist came months later.
When Peck won the Oscar, Harper Lee slipped him a note backstage:
“Atticus saved the town. You saved the story.”
She thanked him again years later by giving him her father’s watch permanently, the same one he had worn during filming. He fought for him.
People think Gregory Peck’s greatness came from his calm voice, his posture, his roles.
The truth is sharper.
He protected that film behind closed doors with the same moral force he played on screen.
The scandal was never public but Hollywood insiders knew exactly what happened:
Gregory Peck didn’t just play Atticus Finch.

@Sheba20011
I am completely wiped out. It has been one of those weeks. I did meet with the Property Manager. What a nice person who took his time with me. We sat at the outdoor table and showed me pictures of our outside area. I am having problems with our new roof from the hurricanes last year. I liked the contractor I used, however, there are some areas on our lanai that leak when it rains. Hubs enjoys our lanai and loves to sit outside watching the birds on the lake along with an alligator when there is one. I just do not want him sitting in the rain and not being able to move fast enough. I knew what needs to be accomplished. However, it is a price point. He has scheduled a meeting with the owners and will get back to me on that issue. He also showed me the pictures on his computer on what our new bathroom will look like. I will be emptying the two hallway closets completely (the contractors will take care of the top shelves for me). I also need to remove everything from the carport. I think the cars can stay put, though I’m not so sure at the moment. This I will start to do tomorrow morning. I will then sweep and wash the area. I’m hoping to finish the job by Sunday. I will also be doing the same to our entry steps and the front door. The only thing I asked the Project Manager to do is to give me at least 48 hours notice as to when the people will be here to start the work. On the days that they are here, I will not be visiting hubs. Their work starts at 7:30/8 AM and they work until 5 pm in the evening. Hubs cannot wait.
I am now really tired. I was able to remove things blocking the inside of our front door. I was like a kid in a candy store opening box after box. The rubbish and recycle bins are now full. I keep forgetting that Monday is our pickup day for everything. This also includes the garden weeds and the flowering plants that will need to be pruned back so that the new growth can begin in our early spring (probably wishful thinking on my end. LOL).
Have a great evening. Sweet dreams.
