I personally think HSN has many different brands of clothing that offer a good variety of fashionable styles that are up to date, trendy or just something for the everyday woman. Not everyone is going to like every line of clothing or style. I think for the most part, the models look nice and are dressed stylishly.
I think the QVC models are not as realistic as the HSN models. HSN models have more diversity in size, race, height, etc. Also the QVC hosts are not as relatable as the HSN hosts. Seems to me that in regards to female clothing line, QVC has just a few and they are on the air over and over and over again. I believe HSN has better female clothing lines, better well known, and a bigger choice to select from. Hope that QVC incorporates many of the current HSN brands and hosts and maybe models or they will lose a good deal of their sales and customers. So sad for this split with Florida.

I really wanted to commend the hosts, the models and especially Marla Wynne on an exceptional day. I felt as if I were in a showroom of lovely designs with truly remarkable displays of beauty. The evening program of special occasion outfits honestly took my breath away. Everyone looked stunning. Don’t have to go to Paris…. we have Marla Wynne. I spent too much but I know I will not regret any of my purchases.
And with all due respect…Bobbi Ray Carter is NOT a model and should stop showing off the clothing on her frail, ill-looking body. Let the PROFESSIONAL MODELS do that for us instead of the host.

So very true about quality of clothing & shoes everywhere.I wear 9.5 wide in most shoes but 10w in Bzees. I LOVED Bzees – so light weight and the wedges give me the height I so desire.
Although, I must admit I was pleasantly surprised when I tried Skechers Slip-ins Summits Plus Washable Knit Sneakers from QVC (a recent TSV). I’ve been using them nonstop around the house for about a week & they are supportive, comfy but if not on sale can be a tad bit pricey. I also like New Balance.Still getting quality towels & curtains/drapes from JCPenney. Bed Bath & Beyond has pretty good deals on comforter/quilt sets too. Recently found the same exact quilt set at BBB which was about $60 cheaper than at JCPenney (even w/a 30% off coupon). Same brand, model & color.

I suspect that the hosts and models are actually XS. Most people on television are. They wear tight clothing because voluminous clothes just look like tents.
You make some valid points, but your comment about the QVC models being overweight was unkind and inappropriate. The QVC models come in all sizes, and there are plenty who wear XXS. The plus size models are there to demonstrate how the clothing would look on women who wear size 14 and up, which is the majority of the American female population.
Posted in Forum: HSN TVQVC is the worst……Andrew Lessman is the best thing on HSN. But QVC/HSN has lost all of their good Hosts/Models. The hosts tend to exaggerate everything on TV, then when we receive it, we realize we have been lied to.
The quality is no longer there. The prices have gone up. The models are all overweight and should not be modeling clothing…of any kind. The reason we all return things is because they are not as promised. Then if you do return to much, they drop your account. How do they not realize the hosts are making the goods sound too good to be true, and upon receiving the items, they are a deep disappointment. Then there are shipping costs…both way. I watch Andrew Lessman but he also has a website. I no longer watch them as you can find lower prices on handbags from designers cheaper at their own outlet stores. The clothing? Not even close to being on trend. Matronly, cheap, awful fabrics. Neither show has any class……….
I think she is trying to represent the petite women. Me being 4’11 want MORE PETITE CLOTHING & ALOT MORE PETITE MODELS THAT R ONLY 5 FOOT. THIN & HEAVIER 5 FOOT WOMEN. HSN IS NOT ALL INCUSIVE AT ALL.
THAT BEING SAID VALERIE IS A HUGE HAM TRYING TO SHOW OFF BUT SHE IS ALSO REPRESENTING US SHORTER WOMEN BUT DOESN’T MAKE A DIFFERENCE WR NEED PETITE CLOTHING IN EVERYTHING.
Posted in Forum: FashionFor example, Victoria needs to size up. She has become a distraction…the stylist needs to stop putting Victoria in the X-SMALL and SMALL sizes when it is a poor fit. Sometimes she really looks bad. It does not serve the designers well that have put hard work and dedication into their clothing lines.

Honestly, I don’t believe anyone on HSN any longer when they say their size. Do you want to wear yours sausage tight with the wrinkles going across the thighs and legs of pants (horizontally). Look at the baggy jackets and notice the models and hosts can not naturally pull the front sides together to close it properly. Oh, they do that stretch across their front to show it stretches but the sides do not hang fully across the front. My main message is not to be mean but to say to consumers, be careful and really look at the model or the host as far as how the clothing fits on them in real life.
Loved the Maggie Sweet line! I also liked Carolyn Strauss as a host, plus sized fit model, with a line of clothing for all sizes that offered stylish items for work, travel and leisure. I also miss Diane Von Furstenburg’s affordable washable silk items! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Posted in Forum: FashionI tuned in because I was curious to see what Wynne was selling. I continue to be frustrated by the way stylist ignore the item on air. The model is supossed to be showing a tank top. She is wearing the tank top tucked in and has a cardigan on top which covers the whole thing. This is done all the time. If you are showing a blouse, etc., show it not tucked in or covered. How is the prospective buyer to get an idea of fit and length? And why the hosts and models wear garments in black, when you very well know that the black color on garments do not show detail on screen?
If you actually show the garment and talk about its measurement details te returns will lessen.

She is an activist, using her fame and platform to bring attention to causes that matter to her, like the hardships refugees face or the lack of equality in the beauty and fashion space. She does this both by actively speaking out and by simply standing up for herself. But perhaps her most influential accomplishment is that she has helped women see themselves—in the pages of magazines and, through her groundbreaking beauty company, Iman Cosmetics, on store shelves.
As Iman recounted for each of our interviewers for this cover story, the idea for Iman Cosmetics—the first makeup collection specifically for all “women with skin of color”—was sparked during her very first modeling job, a photoshoot for Vogue in 1976: When she arrived on set, the makeup artist asked her if she brought her own foundation; when Iman said no, the makeup artist mixed-and-matched what shades he had. “I looked, literally, gray,” Iman recalls today. “I still say the gods of beauty were looking after me, because the photographs were black and white—that hides all sins.” Otherwise, she believes, her career would have been short-lived. “My image is my currency, so I better have control of that,” she remembers thinking. Iman went shopping, buying any product that had a pigment close to her skin tone. She combined them herself and took Polaroids to see how the makeup would translate on film.
