I am watching the tropics. At the moment it looks like Melissa will miss Florida. However, things could change overnight. Guess this will depend upon the cold front and the shearing effect,
I did not see hubby today. Instead spent the time looking at other remodelers. When I started looking at remodelers, I used Angii’s list and Home something or other. They well recommended the people I chose, though the business was young at 2 1/2 years, Family owned along with all 5-star reviews. The owner came out and took a measurement and then we sat down to discuss what needed to be accomplished. I was definitely impressed since he knew I needed a handicapped bathroom and a way for hubby to access the shower. He had all the answers which were the same as our health insurance. However, when it came time for the second measurement I was not told who and when. A person contacted me and he came in with a contractor in the background using his cell. In order to install a glass partition or glass door, he needed to use some of our closet space. Unfortunately, the thermostat was in his way. As luck would have it our electrician was out the following week to check on our heat for the coming cooler months. The thermostat would be an easy move and at the same time he could also remove the ioutake for the A/C., though we would need another spot. Now you know the rest of the scenario.
I do have another firm in mind. They will need to look at the master and guest baths and then determine which would be of better usage. I am thinking the master would be great, but with the area also holding the roof, may be quite an expense. There is an alcove in the master that can be utilized as well. I do not mind losing the desk because that area could house two or three bookcases and would be great for a sitting area. My only question is that this particular company is doing quite a bit of online advertising. Reviews are 4.7 and they have been in business for over 20 years. They do have a showroom and they have everything at their fingertips. I will make a call next week. Nothing is written in stone. But I need to get this done so hubs can return home. As far as the Ct. home is concerned, our contractor is now with family in Indiana and Colorado and will return after the first of the year. In a sense this is perfect. I will be able to determine hubby’s capabilities and see if returning North for a time will be OK health wise for him. We will head North between April and May. More than enough time to make that home handicapped accessible. That’s it for now. Stay warm. I do miss dressing in layers. It is still warm here and the UV is high. Humidity is low or non existent. However, the rehab is icy cold. I alsways carry either a sweater or sweatshirt.

I find it very complicated and difficult to go through the Living-Glow company to get a refund. I also don’t have a Venmo account. Since I bought three, I’m out $75. I also called to see if HSN could help out but no luck there. Now to get rid of them…where?

Funny you posted this. I was just thinking of posting in regard to the Living Glow 5-in-one fan. I got my recall about the same time you did. So, you purchased three of them. I purchased about seven of those things. Gave three as gifts and the rest for immediate family. A couple of them just quit working already. I contacted two of the three people already who received them as gifts. They have smart phones, but neither one of them have the Venmo app on their phone. Venmo is the mode this company wants to use to refund $25 for each device. I am betting they save a lot of money this way. Wish they would offer a Visa gift card or something similar …. something that everyone could easily use. I can never knowingly purchase anything else from this company because their only option is Venmo for refunds. Not everybody has that app or wants to freely give out their financial info. Anyone who has the app just be sure to follow all their instructions: Fill out their posted form, watch their video on how to destroy the charging port on each device being recalled and post the picture with the specifics they ask for along with a paper with your initials and the date on it. And I hope that everything goes well for you, and you receive your refund.
Now it is going to be interesting attempting to recycle. Often different places talk a good game about recycling, but when one actually goes there in order to recycle, all of the sudden they don’t do that anymore or there is a fee involved. Corporations that make these sorts of things need to be responsible for the materials they use. They should make it easy to recycle. All after, they are the ones making the big bucks.
I am glad that we received the email about the recall. However, I am bummed that the company is not offering something like a Visa gift card for $25 for each device. I will not be able to get a refund through Venmo. Some of us have a smart phone, but don’t have the app and don’t want the app. Some of us don’t have neither (a smart phone or the app) and don’t want them. Oh well! I will just be sure not to willingly purchase anything from that company in the future. So disappointing!!!

This ad blocking thing has just started in the last 4-6 weeks. I will not disable anything on my computer in order to do business with HSN and QVC. I am done buying from these companies if this condition for writing a product review issue remains in place.
Please disable any ad blockers, which can prevent successful review submission.

NATIONAL YORKSHIRE PUDDING DAY
National Yorkshire Pudding Day is celebrated on October 13 and honors a traditional English dish brought over by immigrants–Yorkshire pudding! Not to be confused with a dessert, Yorkshire Pudding is a traditional English dish similar to a popover.
Yorkshire is made from a batter and usually served with roast meat and gravy. Cooks in the north of England devised a means of using the fat that dropped into the dripping pans. They created a batter pudding while the meat roasted in the oven. In 1737, one such cook published a recipe for “A Dripping Pudding” in The Whole Duty of a Woman.
In 1747, Hannah Glasse published similar instructions in The Art of Cookery Made Plain and Easy. She named the recipe ‘Yorkshire Pudding.’ Glasse received credit for re-inventing and renaming the original version of ‘A Dripping Pudding.”
These savory popovers open up a world of possibilities when it comes to fillings. While the gravy is traditional, don’t hesitate to add cheese, eggs, your favorite protein, or an herb filling. If you have more of a sweet tooth, straying from the traditional by adding chocolate, caramel, or a cream cheese filling sounds perfect!

Sadly that is something that is becoming typical. Companies are resorting to all kinds of games to get what they think will help their bottom line. They don’t seem to understand that all we want are good products at a “fair” price and good customer service. (Two things, by the way, that use to be HSN’s sock and trade). Now, however, it is something most companies just don’t care to provide. All we can do is exercise our right not to purchase. I have being doing that a lot of late.

Posted in Forum: Customer ServiceI called HSN credit card company about my account. A promotional company answered and refused to connect me (or as they said will give me their number) until I give them my personal information. 3 times I said I dont want your promotion connect me to my credit card company and 3 times he said not until you give me your name this is a promotion. I then hung up. What kind of is this HSN?
I will pay off this card and never use it again. Very bad service.

🌙 LOOK UP TONIGHT!
October 9–10, 2025 — The Moon Meets the Seven Sisters (Pleiades)
For two nights only, the sky will stage one of its most enchanting scenes — the golden Moon gliding past the Pleiades, a sparkling blue star cluster known since ancient times as the Seven Sisters. 💫
Just after midnight, look toward Taurus — you’ll see a breathtaking contrast:
the Moon’s soft amber glow beside the icy-blue shimmer of hundreds of distant suns, each more than 440 light-years away. ✨
📍 How to See It:
• Visible worldwide, best from the Northern Hemisphere.
• Look east after 10 PM, and watch the Moon slowly drift beside the cluster.
• Through binoculars or a small telescope, you’ll glimpse a field of glittering blue jewels — a sight no camera can truly capture.
💫 Did You Know?
The Pleiades have inspired countless myths — the Greek “Seven Sisters,” the Māori “Matariki,” and even Japan’s “Subaru” (yes, the car logo represents these stars!).
📸 Don’t miss this rare celestial duet — a golden Moon dancing with a cluster of blue diamonds.
One of the most poetic sky moments of 2025.

“My dad left me. I was mocked for my body. And yet, I filled stadiums singing about the very things that once broke me.”
I grew up in Tottenham, London — a working-class neighborhood that taught me resilience before I even knew the word.
My mum was a teenager when she had me, cleaning houses to keep the lights on.
My dad… he walked out. Just disappeared.
For years, every time I saw a girl with her father, it tore something inside me — a hunger that had nothing to do with food.
Then, at nine, I discovered my voice.
By fourteen, I was writing songs to heal what tears couldn’t.
The industry told me I didn’t fit.
That I was too big, too real, too hard to sell.
Once, a producer said flat out: “You’ve got the voice, but you don’t look like a star.”
I swallowed that pain — and turned it into melody.
I’d cry behind locked doors, then step out with new lyrics — stronger, sharper.
I wrote my first album with a broken heart, and my second with a shattered soul — and somehow, both soared.
But the fairytale wasn’t without its shadows.
I lost my voice mid-tour, went through surgery, and feared I’d never sing again.
Heartbreak followed, panic attacks left me gasping, and there were nights I felt buried beneath my own silence.
I found my way back — through my son, through therapy, through music.
I didn’t rebuild all at once.
I rebuilt slowly — note by note, tear by tear.
“Feeling broken doesn’t make you weak. What truly matters is what you do with those pieces.”

NATIONAL BRING YOUR TEDDY BEAR TO WORK/SCHOOL DAY
Is that a bear peeking over your colleague’s monitor? Did your teacher just put a fuzzy friend on their desk? Don’t be alarmed! It’s National Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work/School Day, a day to embrace nostalgia and fun, celebrated every second Wednesday in October. Posted in Forum: Crafts & SewingI was checking the up coming schedule for 10/7 Craft Day….THERE’S NO CRAFTER’S COMPANION listed in any of the time frames! There was a Flipping Book showing all the products being sold, but now I don’t see any items being sold. What’s going on? Does anybody know? Looks like there’s a lot going on with Crafter’s Companion especially with their shipping and handling problems.

Rich Girl
Song by Gwen Stefani – Featuring EveNa, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
If I was a rich girl (na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na)
See, I’d have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl
No man could test me, impress me, my cash flow would never ever end
‘Cause I’d have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl
Think what that money could bring
I’d buy everything
Clean out Vivienne Westwood
In my Galliano gown
No, wouldn’t just have one hood
A Hollywood mansion if I could
Please book me first-class to my fancy house in London town
All the riches baby, won’t mean anything
All the riches baby, won’t bring what your love can bring
All the riches baby, won’t mean anything
Don’t need no other baby
Your lovin’ is better than gold, and I know
If I was a rich girl (na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na)
See, I’d have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl
No man could test me, impress me, my cash flow would never ever end
Cause I’d have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl
I’d get me four Harajuku girls to (uh huh)
Inspire me and they’d come to my rescue
I’d dress them wicked, I’d give them names (yeah)
Love, angel, music, baby
Hurry up and come and save me
All the riches baby, won’t mean anything
All the riches baby, won’t bring what your love can bring
All the riches baby, won’t mean anything
Don’t need no other baby
Your lovin’ is better than gold, and I know
Come together all over the world
From the hoods of Japan, Harajuku girls
What, it’s all love
What, give it up
What (shouldn’t matter, shouldn’t matter, shouldn’t matter, shouldn’t matter) what
Come together all over the world
From the hoods of Japan, Harajuku girls
What, it’s all love
What, give it up
What (shouldn’t matter, shouldn’t matter, shouldn’t matter, shouldn’t matter)
What happened to my life
Turned upside down
Chicks dat blew ya mind, ding, it’s the second round
(Original track and ting, mmm)
You know you can’t buy these things (no)
See Stefani and her L.A.M.B., I rock the fetish
People, you know who I am
Yes ma’am, we got the style that’s wicked
I hope you can all keep up
We climbed all the way from the bottom to the top
Now we ain’t gettin’ nothin’ but love
If I was rich girl (na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na)
See, I’d have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl
No man could test me, impress me, my cash flow would never ever end
Cause I’d have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na

A large part of how long hosts stay also has to do with how well and mostly how much they sell during their presentations. This information is tracked by the parent company. If they do not perform up to par or sell as the Co wants, their contract is either not renewed or negotiated down ($$$) for an additional time period to give them the opportunity to improve such. If they don’t, their contract is not renewed. You also have some that think they’re worth more than the CO wants to pay them. If they don’t compromise, they’re gone too. Look at Shawn K on QVC. Since she’s been a front line host, she’s brought in expensive companies that she personally buys or is friends with. Ex. Barefoot Dreams, R Minkoff. She doesn’t mind telling you she loves London and brands from London. If you watch her shows, you’ll see most of the items she presents are high dollar or Shawn K X (by) ???. I’m happy for her that she can afford expensive taste, but QVC is supposed to mean Quality, Value and Convenience.
