Anyone from Indiana? Help me out!
Hey Arcade Lovers!
Headed to Indiana tomorrow (Indianapolis, Terra Haute) to hang with family & toast my Cousin Ty’s graduation from Indiana State University.
What should I eat? What should I see? How can I best enjoy the Heartland?
I’m hearing about something called Hoosier Pie. Good stuff?
Any and all tips and travel suggestions welcome.
Happy Thursday, crew!
Being for Iowa I heard Indiana being called ” The Hoosier State”:)
Have lots of fun, Sean:)
Peace and love:)
I’m in Indy (Indianapolis).
Sorry, I don’t know much about Terre Haute.
The Children’s Museum is in Indianapolis, just North of downtown.
The Indy 500 racetrack is on the Westside. This year it’s the 100th running, so more is going on than normal.
(On the internet it’s under Indianapolis Motor Speedway).
Lucas Oil Raceway is the drag racing track. They have the U.S. National Drag Races there. (It’s very loud.) lol
Have a great time! Sorry I can’T help you out with restaurants, that Is not one of the 12 states I have lived in! I have been there many times but not where you are going.
So there’s a restaurant in Indianapolis called St. Elmo Steak House. It’s famous for its Shrimp Cocktail Sauce, which supposedly can really “clear out” the ol’ nostrils.
Really wanna try this place.
I’ll let you know if I survive…
Just remembered on US 40 in Plainfield try the oasis diner a real 50’s diner they have just restored and moved there from a few miles down the street. Really good place to try a tenderloin but come hungery lol !!! On tuesday’s a shakeis only 75 cents.
Hi Sean, my husband and I visited Indiana, we had relatives living there. If your daughters are going with you, I think there is a Great childrens Museum there, not sure if it is there or in Chicago. We also visited the Indy 500 museum at the track, that was fun for my son. It was quite awhile ago and can not remember anything else. Enjoy the trip. AGGY788
Mayberry cafe in Danville is fun. Stop on your way or way back from Terra Haute. It’s not far out of the way. Nice little town. I’ve always wanted to live there. Never heard of hoosier pie and was born and raised here.
