a program called Design Space. It’s completely free to download (you don’t need a Cricut machine), so you can try before you buy.
You can operate Design Space from desktop or laptop computers, smart phones (iOS or Android) and tablets.
The Design Space software has a library of over 100,000 images, fonts and ready-to-make projects. Some are free, some cost a small fee.
There is also a subscription service for Design Space, called Cricut Access. It grants access to the majority of images, fonts and projects (excluding some, e.g. licensed projects like Disney or Simplicity).
You can import your own images directly into Design Space to cut them out with your machine. It accepts all common file types: SVG, PNG, JPG, DXF, GIF, and BMP, so you can easily import images made in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop etc. The import process will even help you to clean up the image, e.g. remove unwanted imperfections.
To cut anything, you will need to apply it to a sticky mat so it can pass through the machine. Basic mats are provided with each machine, but specialist mats (e.g. for balsa wood) are sold separately. The only exception is Cricut Joy, which can cut Smart Vinyl and Smart Iron On without a mat – details below.
Cricut sell a huge range of consumables (paper, card, vinyl, iron-on, fabric, felt, chipboard etc) to use with your machine – and I’d recommend you use them for the best results. However, you can also use non-branded materials, including whatever you have in your craft supply.
You can use tiny scraps of consumables too (no need to use full, complete sheets). So it’s easy to minimise your waste material.Posted in Forum: ElectronicsJust FYI. Microsoft Office does have some limitations with the free version for android and tablets. Read about it as I am not sure they tell you this in the presentation. I wasn’t aware that you could get a free version, so that’s great, but you don’t get all the features. I like to know these things before I buy. Either way, it’s a great component to the tablet, I think.
Posted in Forum: Health & WellnessI spent half a day trying to sync Versa lite fitbit to my LG tracfone. Hosts sold it as working with any android phones and tablets. Finally went to fitbit official site and fitbit only works on smartphones of OS7+ phones. No tracfones that I can see! Sorry to say I spent over $13 to send back; when in fact if I knew the facts, would not have ordered this product.
Posted in Forum: HSN ArcadeI started having problems playing certain games a couple weeks ago, and recently sent a message to the Help Center. I received a message from a tech advising that the HSN apps were retired for Apple and Android TABLETS. However, I usually play the Arcade games via the website on my iPad Air 2. So, I wasn’t playing through the app, but I just checked for the HSN app on my iPhone, and only found the HSN Shopping app ~ which doesn’t have the Arcade! I can still play certain games via the website on my iPad, but not games that require FlashPlayer (Today’s Special Jigsaw, Trizzle, etc.). However, I was able to play these before, so I don’t see why they had to make this change to the website Arcade (if they realize they did). I’ve sent another message to the Help Center about this, since they didn’t respond to that particular issue from my first message.
Anyway, I’m wondering how all you frequent gamers play ~ does anyone play via the website? On an iPhone? If so, which iPhone and which HSN app? Other methods? Any problems?
Thanks for any info you can provide!
