Posted in Forum: HSN TVjust reading all the nothing comments so and so is rude and its rude to comment on someone being rude and oh my god its a shopping network! keep your opinions to yourself. why we have to endure remarks on the air over what so and so thinks on facebook is such an imposition to the host the vendor and us watching who don’t care at least not on air. it takes time from the whole point of the program and that is selling stuff and us buying. do you not buy a brand at macys due to the designer being rude? of course not because we don’t watch them on tv and by the way that whole business is competitive and hard and who wouldn’t get grouchy or short. give people a break. were only human. and its qvc calling the shots not hsn. so all your negative remarks could hurt someone for real. so remember that and realize how hard these people work and d.g has been around and worked hard shes not an internet sensation she did it the hard way. I don’t like all this that’s happening via internet, it makes the u.s look bad. its destroying some business and nobody cares so long as they save a few bucks. well people mean more than that so shop hsn but go shop local too before you cant.
I also only purchased 2 items with $3.50 shipping when I normally buy many items.
I agree with everything said except QVC did not buy HSN. HSN was bought by the same parent company that owns QVC, Zulily and several other online retail shopping.
I didn’t wait for an invoice. looked at my shopping cart and saw what they were going to charge me. Then I deleted all but two items in my cart. The two I kept had $3.50 shipping. Somehow I knew this was coming. Since QVC has bought HSN, HSN is no longer a good place to shop. My only uncertainty is whether QVC is deliberately trying to bankrupt HSN or if the execs really are that inept.

I just talked with Allison Konick, the rep for Elysee. Allison was wonderful, very helpful, and has worked with Linda for years, and also other brands on HSN and QVC, plus her husband, an Australian, took care of arranging Linda’s TV appearances in Australia.
* Linda has – not – sold the Elysee co, but needed to find investors/backers to help finance the companies growth, and has several interested parties. But that is not to say that the co will not be sold. Of course Linda wants to keep ownership, so hopefully the investors will be the answer.
* They hope to have their website up in one week, but it’s a complicated endeavor getting everything running smoothly.

I asked if Linda was going to be on any home shopping networks, and at this time Allison didn’t know. However she did say that Linda likes to have a one on one relationship with her customers and might find other venues such as podcasts, etc.

I think HSN has gone downhill since Mindy Grossman left. She took a somewhat dull shopping channel and turned it into a series of lovely, interesting boutiques. I remember how beautiful the sets were, with a different one for each vendor. That sells merchandise, it seems to me. Now they’re letting go of so many long-term brands, including some of their biggest sellers. This makes no sense to me unless they’re planning to close the place down.
Vendors who’ve left HSN and QVC should discuss forming a virtual home shopping marketplace and pooling their resources for advertising and other expenses. Their overhead would be much less than HSN’s. Lisa Robertson and some of the brands that have been dropped by HSN should explore this possibility. HSN should beg Mindy Grossman to do some consulting for them. She seems to be an excellent turnaround artist.
Saharajane I have been shopping elsewhere for shoes since the fit at HSN is no longer there. Seems I either need to go up or down a size depending upon the shoe and the manufacturer. Rather than do the returns, I now go locally and found they are less expensive. Shipping from other retail outlets is usually free and they have free returns as well. Like Pinkdoll, I do enjoy Jay King as well as Chaco Canyon, Heidi Daus and once in a while Rarities. On other occasions I shop at the Liquidation Channel where they have a certain percentage off on a daily basis. Their jewelry line is gorgeous. Also looking forward to IMAN. On another note, I do not enjoy watching QVC or Shop HQ.
The biggest draw to HSN for me, is Jay King. I go out of my way to watch him, like a TV show. He’s also what got me watching HSN in the first place. Before that, I had never watched any shopping channel. I don’t care much for QVC. The only thing I’ll watch over there is Carolyn Pollack – American West. But I don’t think her jewelry is as good of value as Jay King. Other than that, I’m not interested in QVC’s products…and I don’t connect with their hosts. But if HSN’s prices keep going up, I’ll be buying less & less.
Posted in Forum: Talk Among YourselvesI use to be an avid HSN shopper and purchased many items from Joy Magano and Iman, even handbags from Sharif while he was alive and featured on HSN. QVC has frumpy clothes and boring accessories which seemed more overpriced then HSN items. Stopped shopping on HSN when I no longer recognized the designers. The platform for selling items via on air talk hosts is fading out. Younger generations don’t have time nor interest to sit and listen to endless descriptions of items on their tv or even on Ipads, phones, etc. It’s become so trendy to buy used and save $ because consumers are being inundated with so many outrageous fees on credit card interest rates of which HSN has one of the highest via Synchronicity. The convenience of spreading out payments to purchase more expensive items just isn’t worth it. HSN/QVC have too much competition. My favorite brands such as Bzees or Clarks shoes are sold on other sites which offer constant discounts. HSN offers minimal discounts and always on non clearance items. Don’t waste your $ on HSN/QVC, or comparison shop before buying on HSN.
Skittles: Something came to mind from your post. Maybe Joan could join forces with other vendors who sell on-line and used to be on HSN, QVC, etc. (or not) and form a home shopping marketplace, pooling their resources for advertising and maybe even purchasing power. This could include Lisa Robertson’s line and Elysee possibly, and even perhaps some others. Could you copy this and post it on Joan’s FB page, since I’m not on FB? If some successful brands like those I’ve mentioned joined forces and advertised, they might increase their sales over what they’d make on their own. I’m no expert, but it’s worth suggesting.
Posted in Forum: Talk Among YourselvesWaited all day for product I needed to be delivered. site showed delivery today. Late afternoon I checked. Wow. ups is horrible. shop site showed it was delivered to postoffice 6:30am, still states that….so I phoned post office they informed me ups always shows up about 11am. My mail is always delivered by 10:30am. Ok, went to ups site now shows delivered to post office 11am, but shopping site still shows earlier time. Boy are they posting lies in writing, then later changing time, but not on shopping site. I phoned qvc about this several times in past, obviously they don’t care enough to research. ups is in essence playing games.blaming me having to wait till tomorrow now on the postoffice. q site still not updated. Maybe if enough of us complain these shopping sites will do something. 8 days now to get 10 little loc n loc. In the meantime I cooked all day & had to put 10 meals in zip loc bags. Ugh. all mushed together. lol
What? YBF has had their own website for a while now. I discovered her website at least two years ago when I was trying to get her brow pencil and HSN had sold out.
Jennifer Stalone also has a website for Serious Skincare although she is on ShopHQ.
Websites are nice but when they align with these shopping networks they are able to reach into millions of households.
Andrew Lessman has a website too but he’s still on HSN and QVC.
I don’t care for celebrities lending their names to a brand and selling items for $$$$$. Over the years, HSN and QVC have dropped true designers for celebrities and I for one don’t like it.
The trend for home shopping networks is for leisure and casual wear, some of us do like to dress up or are looking for dress slacks, skirts, dresses, etc. to wear to work, church, etc.
Also, the shoe choices shown on-air are frumpy. You have to look online for a better selection but that’s limited too.

Posting on the community forum is great, but if we can get as many caring people as possible to write and send letters, that will get results in stopping HSN and QVC from supporting products from countries that are so abominably cruel to animals.
In our wonderful country it’s rather difficult to fully realize the abject cruelties that dogs, cats, and other animals are subjected to in other parts of the world.
It’s horrible that HSN has discontinued Serious Skin Care, Elysee, and other co’s but are “supporting and spotlighting” South Korean products. The vendors and hosts will blather on endlessly about how the SK government has outlawed animal testing – they still do animal testing – and torture animals – they want our money and are playing us for fools. Well, we’re not fools.
The people in Korea and other countries who are fighting against these monstrous cruelties can use our help. And writing and mailing a letter to Mr. George is an easy simple act, but can make a difference.
The letter can be short, but graphic to get our point across – such as –

As a good customer to both QVC and HSN, I along with many others will boycott both shopping networks because we can not and will not tolerate the selling of products from countries, like South Korea, that commonly practice the most abhorrently cruel treatment of animals. They raise dogs in the most deplorable conditions and maim them, inflicting horrendous unbearably painful injuries on those innocent, intelligent, animals before they mercilessly slaughter them, then eat them. Cats, and domestic livestock are treated no differently.Their treatment of children, who are born less than perfect, or poverty stricken is quite appalling.
There are people fighting such unspeakable cruelties, and we can help them by doing our part and not supporting products from countries, like South Korea, that commonly practice such monstrous, barbaric, inhumane acts.

I was actually reading an article recently on how online shopping is trying to cut down on returns by not including return labels. Amazon is also trying to get people to return items to Kohls rather than using UPS. The article went on to state that some consumers are abusive with their returns. Wearing items for extended periods then returning right before the 30 days. Food items mostly eaten and then returned. Amazon is actually banning some people for life!
Transparency has NEVER been HSN’s strong suit. Today I bought Dr. Ho’s pain reliever kit. Watched the full presentation with Coleen Lopez. Placed my order and guess what? On back order. Not one time was that mentioned. At least QVC, will mention during their presentation, “all items will ship on such and such date.” Not HSN. SO annoying. For those of us who really want the item, being on back order won’t deter us from buying. A.N.N.O.Y.I.N.G! And I agree, honesty and straight forwardness goes along way. I was hoping that would be apart of their New Years resolution but I guess not.
