Frumpy and Dumpy
Oh my, I just perused the spring Fashion Edit and the clothing and shoes offered are ugly! Most of them ave the same lines, fabric and are matronly. The shoes are no better, no style or personality. I love Marla Wynne but I even had to return a few of her items after getting them home. Is it too much of crime to ask the HSN buyers to step up to the plate and offer us more up to date styles? Too many jeans and billowy tops. Ugly flat sandals with no style or oomph. They look like something my grandmother would wear. Five flex pays or not, I’m not impressed.

I could not agree with you more. the “designers” are still “designing” the same old stuff. Ugly and frumpy except for Marla. But as someone said, her clothes are too “billowy” for smaller women. I love them but she’s gotten so expensive. Believe it or not, I’m shopping on Amazon for some items but I always go to my favorite Zara and Nordstrom. (Sale items of course.) HSN and QVC have definitely been downgraded. Time to give it up or get new and real designers. I feel badly for the hosts when they are describing the clothes. The complimentary words are so hard to come out; descriptions just don’t flow from the hosts or their hearts.

i started ordering DG2. i am in the process oflosing weight. i keep going down sizes
small is good for a regular size lady so i guess xxs would be fore you.
SKINNY GIRL runs very small in their non stretch fabrics. so that would be a better “fit for you”
G seems to run tiny too.
i think dg2 has amazing blazers and jeans but tend to run long. depends. i got the ponte pants and blazers in medium and was great. did her ez tank in medium and it was massive returned. I am starting to order he tops in SMALL NOW so i will see how that goesi got a clearance flare jean in a 6 and it fit but a little long. I KNOW I AM NOT A 6 IN A REGULAR. GOT AN 8 IN SKINNY GIRL. SAVING IT FOR WHEN I LOSE A BIT MORE .
You have to find the manufacturer for you. . -
I’m curious. Where do you ladies find modern and sophisticated styles that aren’t made only for the small and extra small?

Pamlou I just saw your post I buy from Chico’s and Talbots sign up for the emails. Chico’s has sales all the time and I love their jeans and tops. Talbots is more conservative and not as many sales.

HSN needs to get some better designers. The only one I like a lot is G by giulianna rancic.
Skinny Girl is o.k. but her prices are totally ridiculous for HSN. I found her clothes online at Macy’s Lord & Taylor for a quarter of the price HSN charges. I find Bethenny to be so self centered & obnoxious. She should of named her line totally SELFISH GIRL. She must sell her clothes to HSN at a very high price.
Marla Wynne is o.k. but all of her stuff is HUGE FOR TALL BIG WOMEN nothing for thin petite women and it is all the same design nothing different but at least it is quality.
The rest is all garbage all of it is sad & pathetic fashion.
Logo is not any better on QVC she makes a ton of the same old stuff and wants a fortune for it my husband looks at the clothing and calls them unsightly rags. He only likes a few of her things. We both love fashion but we are too particular for the rags these shopping networks sell. -
I can tell you I’ve seen plenty pictures of my Grams in some styling outfits!!
No-one dresses like that today.HSN will never compare to that!! -
I think it’s time to stop bashing our Dear Grandmother’s and Mother’s when talking about clothes.Every generation has different taste but some items are classic! Yes some modern style would be welcome and appreciated ;^)🤔

No bashing of seniors at all, it’s the clothing we’re bashing. I’m 61 and wouldn’t be caught dead in most of the old-fashioned looks presented by HSN. They’ve done away with true designers and think we all want orthopedic shoes, leggings, and loud prints. I wouldn’t be caught dead in a pair of capris, faux leather, and others.

i agree , i have been with HSN from the beginning..loved the clothes…since QVC came in and brought their ugly with them…this is it… where ARE the designers such as: LIZ LANGE . TIANA B. SERENA WILLIAMS ,V. CAMUTO. even IMAN…its all FRUMP and no style…WHAT HAPPENED…

I guess their Buyer isnt buying the now fashions. I said a while back the clothes and shoes look like old people clothes and the funny thing is I am an old people. I am 7 0 but HSN and QVC are to old looking for me.
I have been watching one dress from G I started last Spring and today looked same dress and same price! A fashion you have had for sale for over a year and hasnt come down in price one dollar. Thats terrible. Who would go in a store and buy a dress thats been hanging over a year and has never came down in price? Plus the model wearing it looks like she was picking cabbage in the field all day. I keep watching for a sale price but no. Its like nails on a chalkboard when G talks about her fashions with little white sneakers.-
I like classic and on trend. but not Trendy.
i have bought absolutely high quality ponte stretch blazers with snake skin patters, and solids and the pants that are boot cut. LOOK ageless timeless and classy.
i just bought Guiliana’s faux leather blazer . HIGH HIGH QUALITY. NOT old lady at all. sexy and chic
iman had an amazing wrap tank. the most gorgeous evergreen i ever saw. sexy chic nothing old lady about that. alt all. maybe it is what you are seeing and buying.
TRY DG2 PANTS, IMAN’S WRAP TOPS AND SOME OF G’S JACKETS. HARDLY OLD LADY.

I have no idea how old you ladies are, but IMO classic never goes out of style and both HSN and QVC do sell some classic styles. You just can’t let those designers and hosts talk you into something you know is not your style and isn’t going to work. If nobody buys they will get the message.

4 sets of her PONTE STRETCH BLAZER AND PONTE JEGGINGS AND they are all stunning
iman makes cross over tank in an evergreen that is classic sexy and stunning. they sell some gorgeous and high quality merchandise. if people don’t like it they shouldn’t shop. i am finding great bargains, high quality clothing here that are ageless and sexy and on trend -

i recently cleaned out my closed since working form home during covid 19;
im in my 50’s . i bought 4 of diane’s ponten stretch blazers and matching pants and i can mix and match with the blakc. it looks on trend. classy youthful but appropriate.
i find some things are too trendy so i don’t look at them. i like classic and there are plenty of classic styles to choose form and they are not all frumpy
i love the pants diane gilman has and blazers. i find her tops too large and wide some are fine.
you have to find the right one.
i like G and some skinny girl.
i think they have something for everyone. i just started shopping here a month or two ago. i have returned sme things and kept most. i find the quality has been better than some of the past purchases i have made at macy’s etc. if you don’t like how it looks you put it right back and mail it with the shipping label. it’s easy and you can keep what you like -
I am 58 and have gotten fantastic pieces from HSN and QVC over the past few years. I get so many compliments on my outfits, whether they be super casual or more dressy. My favorite things are the shoes that come in wide. My whole life I have had bunions and there were never any cute shoes in wide in the stores, if they even had wide. Now, I have to control myself with the shoe shopping! Vionic, Bzees, Earth, Alegria, Skechers often have wide widths along with exclusive colors on QVC/HSN.

I am your age and have gotten great qulaity clothes since i became a newby inJuly.
DG2 PONTE SLACKS AND BLAZERS BLOWS away the suits i bought for years in MACYS, LORD AND TAYLOR AND BLOOMIES. ALL THE LININGS RIPPED AFTER BEING WARN…DIANE makes the arm holds well sealed and her quality is fanatastic. I have returned some things from her and Guiliana but to be honest that’s with anything else. If i dont’ like how it looks back it goes.
OVERALL THE QUALITY is very good for the dollar. i don’t know why people complain. they should then go to the stores and see what they will get.
MACY’S has great deals and some great shoes, etc and their clearance BACKSTATE has great buys too. but other than that i shop on HSN now and i love it. i have rebuilt alot of my wardrobe and threw out some of my ugly clothes or things that were warn and old.
donated 8 bags of clothes in the past few months and replaced with stunning clothes. -
i just started shopping on HSN since i am working remotely since July.
I have bought such amazing high quality clothing better than the things i used to buy in boutiques and dept store. DG2 IS AMAZING. IT’S HIT ORMISS HOW THINGS look on everyone.
for example, i love the cowl neck she just came out with. everyone has bashed it. it’s form fitting and i just lost alot of weight and it looks great on me and it’s super comfy and has thin long sleaves so I am not not sweating and itchy . alot of these fabrics are super comfy. i am sensitive to fabrics and all of these agree with me.
everyone loves the easy tank i looked pregnant in it. no one can look good in everything but i wish people would stop bashing the clothes. i bought a faux jacket by G love it. i bought flex stretch blazer and jeans by DG2 adorable. love everything i have gotten. if people despise the clothes they shouldnt’ shop here. i am tired of negative comments HSN has allowed me to be a better shopper and has been like a personal stylist for me.

These are just a few of the items I hate to see on HSN/QVC -
I must be the only one who thinks leggings, jeggings and/or skinny jeans should only be worn by certain folks. No offense to the models, but many of them have been misled. They cling to every bump/lump and most of them should have shirts that cover the most “frontal” area.
I also wish we could have some basics again. Even Martha Stewart has “billowing” shirts .
Yes, tired of cold shoulders, asymmetrical hems and all of the material that “peplum” tops have in the wrong places. Speaking of which, am I the only one that doesn’t like 98% of Qvc’s Logo?

Try dg2. her ponte jersey stretch blazers and boot leg ponte jeggings are stunning. bought 4 pairs of the slacks and matching blazer. it was a game changer in my wardrobe.
i am in NEW YORK and have shopped all over and the quality can’t be beat.

I agree with your comment about QVC LOGO. There is such a thing as over kill with the layering.One layer/two layers OK.Three or more not flattering for most body types.

I’m also irritated with the look & the expense of Cuddle Duds & Peace, Love. Some are kinda cute, but this “athleisure” look has gotten out of hand. (Mostly QVC).
Sorry to sound so cranky, but the cost of everything has gone awry.

IMAN’S wrap tank top is stunning. all the things i bought got 4 and 5 star ratings. the qulaity of the clothes is much hier than BLOOMINGDALES AND MACY’S PUT TOGETHER. AND HIGH END STORES. THE PRICING is great. -
Lol…That is funny and oh so true! Maybe Isaac is dressing Judge Judy! Lol…and I agree the clothes are so dumpy this year. Everything looks thrown together. And I agree with the shoes they have gotten frumpy, and they do look like grandma shoes.
Marla Wynne has some beautiful clothes and I have quite a few pieces but I am limited because I am 5′ 2 ” and a size 2. Some of her clothes are huge on me and very unflattering. I do like “G” and I do like the Skinny Girl jeans. They fit really well. The Lisa Rhinna clothes are really ugly at QVC and fyi you never see her in her own clothes ever! Iman occasionally has something cute but not recently at all. Sheryl Crow had some really cute clothes but it appears she is phasing out as well.
They were really good there for awhile until they merged with QVC. Now things are changing and not for the better. PLEASE get some up to date fashion
