I do think the Cricut Maker would be the best machine for what you want. IT has the option of using a rotary blade for cutting fabric. Generally the prices on HSN are the list price but they do sometimes have good deals. The Cricut Maker bundle they has for today’s special was actually a great price and came with a bunch of extras. There are no Michaels or Joanns near me so I don’t know if they ever have great deals on the machines. The Cricut website sometimes has sales on them but they never seem to be discounted that much. If I didn’t have a Maker already I definitely would have jumped at it today.

I don’t think hsn’s prices are good at all. I can almost always do better by buying from the company whose product it is or almost anywhere else on the item price alone, and for sure better because of not having to pay shipping and sometimes no tax. All the ones I like have websites. Amazon, as much as I hate them, have usually got better prices on machines than hsn. Even as a platinum member of crafter’s companion, unless they’ve got a great sale, craftstash have got better prices. I don’t have a machine like a cricut or silhouette so I don’t know about them, but I think they may cut fabric. I have an ebosser, which is a large platform electronic die cutting and embossing machine which I’ve had for over 7 years, and would probably buy again if I could get one and needed one because it does the same things as a gemini machine (but the gemini I think has more pressure). In addition, it takes thicker dies like sizzix bigz. I haven’t really tried cutting fabric with it, but I have some dies that do that. They are multi media dies that are a bit thicker than thin metal dies but are still thin metal dies. I think ordinary thin metal dies are usually supposed to cut through thin fabric. The gemini may do a better job of cutting fabric than my ebosser because of thr pressure, but I don’t know that for a fact. I use all of my dies for papercrafting. I would definitely go online and do some searches and find out about what machines do what and see who has got the best prices and what their return policy is. The last place I would buy a machine of any kind is hsn. If something goes wrong with it after the money back period, they won’t do anything about it from what I’ve read.

HSN take notice. Apologising to all the craft companies

Even though I placed my order for the bundle (the TS one) on Monday, hours before the official launch, I was charged only $5 shipping. I thought I’d buy all the other things today but when I put a bunch of items in my cart I was charged almost as much in shipping as all of the materials! I emptied my cart and decided to only buy the additional card kit bundle for $19.99. You know that Cricut will have a sale of their own in the not-too-distant future so I will wait until then to buy anything. I’ll just use the small mat that comes with the machine and use it wil the piles of materials I already own.
