Boundaries are not walls built to keep people out.

Every time we excuse disrespect, overlook dishonesty, or silence our own needs to keep the peace, we unintentionally teach others what we are willing to accept.

Healthy people don’t resent healthy boundaries.

They respect them.

The people who truly belong in your life won’t ask you to become smaller so they can feel bigger. They will honor your voice, your time, your peace, and your worth.

The way others treat us matters.

But what we continue to allow matters even more.

Sometimes the most loving thing we can say is a simple, respectful…

NATIONAL LIPSTICK DAY

National Lipstick Day on July 29 encourages you to wear your best color. For some, lipstick is the only makeup requirement. Whether sheer and light, dark or bright, National Lipstick Day calls for all kinds of lipstick.

Throughout the ages, controversy surrounded lipstick. British Parliament banned it in 1770, calling it a devilish attempt to trick men into marriage. In some circles, lipstick was associated with witchcraft. Occasionally, lipstick contained poisonous materials.

It is said Sarah Bernhardt created a scandal by applying “lip rouge” in public. Surprisingly, George Washington supposedly wore lipstick. While Queen Victoria considered wearing lipstick impolite, one of her statesmen had a different opinion. During World War II, Winston Churchill thought the lip color boosted morale in an excellent way.

Of course, versatility is lipstick’s brand. It changes with a mood or with the scenery. Whether lipstick defines your attitude or channels your inner spirit, wear it on July 29th. No matter your style, lipstick adds a subtle accent or a bold statement. Let your lips speak. However, punctuate it with your lipstick.

NATIONAL LASAGNA DAY

July 29 is National Lasagna Day and we encourage everyone to enjoy at least one version of the delicious layers of noodles, sauces, cheeses, and whatever else your heart desires in your idea of lasagna.

Lasagna requires layering using cheeses, meats, vegetables, and sauce to create a delicious blend of savory baked layers. Even the sauces come in a wide variety.

NATIONAL CHICKEN WING DAY

On July 29, National Chicken Wing Day encourages a frenzy of dipping and sauce tasting with our chicken wings. With so many choices, be sure to pace yourself because there are a lot of wings to be enjoyed!

The day celebrates the little appetizer that could. Also known as buffalo wings, hot wings, or just wings, each of us eats about 290 per year. While a chicken has two wings per bird, it produces four of these tasty morsels. That’s because when we dissect the wing, we break it down into the wingette, drumette, and tip. The wingette and drumette get seasoned and fried into the deliciousness we devour at tailgate parties and trivia nights.

We have an unexpected nice day. Mostly cloudy and mid 70s. I opened a few windows and doors with a good breeze. Glad you are having light rain instead of storms. Every once in a while Mother Nature surprises.😊

Kind of a slow day but did have some pesky phone calls this morning. Message machine not working, one person cut me off twice, you know how I love those, the end!!😖

Doing a happy dance that your niece is now home and doing OK. I kept thinking she lived in Colorado and thought how nice that she had family waiting for her to return to her room. Then I thought how wonderful that everyone flew to be with her. Then my surprise that she lives in Georgia and that made it all the better. To have family near, so precious. But, also knowing she was and still is in the best hands available made everything come together with the right physicians and the best hospital. That is so important. By the way, I wonder if Genetic testing would give you and the family an indication of what is causing the cancer. That’s another thing to consider.

Now, it’s back to school for the kids in Georgia. Florida starts August 10th. Summer is just flying away. To think the mums are out already.

Hope you are having a great evening. Enjoy the moon on your walk. We have cloud cover. Temp is in the mid 80s with high humidity. Rip current is in evvect starting tomorrow and will last until Friday. With hubs in rehab, have not been to the beach in a long time.

Thank you for your concern and prayers for my family. Oodie everyone of us who have
had cancer have had a very expensive Genetic Testing there is no gene that is the strange
part that is why I mention it could be in the air or water somewhere i don’t know. When i had
my Genetic Testing done during my cancer treatment I was told my children had nothing
to worry about what a relief but are those test really that accurate?

My niece have different type of cancer closer to her lymph nodes which is why her
surgery was more complicated. Still they caught it early we take care of our health everything
every single time is done during a routine physical. Thank goodness we don’t play with health.

We have doctors and health professionals in the family but everyone has common sense to
get your physicals and routine checkups regardless.

Please be careful out there glad you are getting some rain. Hope you are having a nice
visit with hubby. 💕

Brief New Jersey History
The history of New Jersey begins When Giovanni Da Verrazzano first explored the shores of the Atlantic coastal lands that included what we now consider to be New Jersey. Da Verrazzano discovered diverse communities of people who were later called the Delaware Indians.

In 1660, the Dutch founded New Jersey’s first European settlement, but in 1664 the British took control. At this time, the land was divided into half and named New Jersey after the Isle of Jersey in the English Channel. Leading up the American Revolution, the colony as a whole was equally divided in its loyalties to the crown. Colonists who remained undecided were just as likely to support the rebel cause as they were to support the king. The same applied to colonists in New Jersey.

New Jersey was centrally located among the thirteen colonies, prompting more battles than any other state during the Revolutionary War. After the Revolutionary war New Jersey was the third state to enter the union. Interestingly, it was also the first state to sign the Bill of Rights.

Just as Americans celebrate their independence on the July 4, survivors of abuse celebrate their life on July 27 on National Love Is Kind Day. This National Day is a day for all victims of domestic violence/domestic abuse their FREEDOM and INDEPENDENCE from their abuser.

National Love is Kind Day encourages you to become aware of how you are treating people, how people are treating you, and how you can become emboldened, supported, and empowered to lead the joyful and productive life you deserve. With improved and proper support, families can know and experience the freedom and love found in an abuse-free home. Children grow up with positive role models, and both adults and children lead more productive, happy, and mentally healthy lives.

NATIONAL SCOTCH DAY

On July 27, we recognize an aged whisky distilled from malted barley and make a toast on National Scotch Day. Let’s spend some time sharing a drink with family and friends to not only appreciate this malted beverage, but to also appreciate the people we have in our lives.

I have been praying all day that your niece is OK and that the Cancer is now gone. The next round may be a difficult path, but, hopefully, all will be better from this point on. The one thing I do not do is dring the tap water in Florida or elsewhere. I did try the water when we first started going South and the taste was horrible. So I started checking and found some articles on how the factories would spill things into the oceans and also into the lakes and ponds. Though environmentalists have tried to chenge this, it has come to a dead end. This is one factor. The other is what people are using to water their fruits and veggies. and also what the animals drink and eat. There is tons of pollution. So maybe we should all be looking at what we eat and drink. The list goes on and on.

I stayed home today. I was up early and took a shower. Within minutes after leaving the tub, the sky darkened and it was one thunder storm after another. The aches and pains just made me stay home. Right now, as I type, things are quiet. However, in about two hours we will have another round of thunderstorms. We need the rain. Suffice to say it’s about time. I will try to venture out early tomorrow. I have absolutely no fruit or veggies in the frig. Hopefully, I will be able to make a trip to Aldi’s and to the Farmer’s Market.

Charlie reminds me of Ziggy. He hated his family and loved our house next door. He would meow when he was at the front door or from our rooftop. He loved to snuggle on our couch or in a chair. Very playful. And, like our cat, Mensch, talkative. Funny how I knew what he was saying. At least his mommy now knows where to look when he escapes. At least they know who loves them.

Again, I wish your niece well. She has a great support team and that will make all the difference in getting well.

wash the earth and make things nice and clean. Oodie I have clean water filters in
my fridge so my water and ice cubes are clean. 😎🎈

Yeah I think it’s an environmental issue somewhere on our planet.
I am staying away from certain fruits and veggies until we get the all clear.
I do have a lot of frozen fruit and Veggies and I know a Market that is home own
and not far from home. 💕Frankly it’s too hot to eat!

I am enjoying Charlie as they let him out and he heads straight to my house. I am glad they have a chip
on him so they know how to track him. I found his secret spot today I went out on my outdoor Patio and he
was under one of my lawn chairs relaxing he seems to love flowers and I have huge flowers on the Patio. 😎
Charlie can also see his house from my Patio he wants to keep coming in for some reason I guess to keep cool.
I have let him in so he can enjoy the cool air.

Judy Garland was found dead in the bathroom of her rented Cadogan Lane home in London on June 22, 1969. She was 47. The official ending was not a murder mystery, not a hidden Hollywood crime scene, not a shocking last-minute twist. Westminster coroner Gavin Thurston called it accidental, saying, “This is quite clearly an accidental circumstance to a person who was accustomed to taking barbiturates over a very long time.”
But Judy Garland’s real case file does not begin in that London bathroom. It begins decades earlier, when Frances Ethel Gumm, a little girl with a giant voice, entered the machinery of old Hollywood and came out with a new name, a new image, and a new life that no child could fully control.
MGM did not simply discover Judy Garland. It shaped her, polished her, corrected her, measured her, and sold her. When she signed with the studio in 1935, she was still a teenager, but the studio system treated young performers like products that needed constant adjustment. Her voice was gold. Her body was treated like a problem. Her smile was valuable. Her exhaustion was treated like an inconvenience.
That was the dark trade behind Dorothy Gale. “The Wizard of Oz” (1939) made Judy immortal, but immortality arrived while she was still a girl being pushed through adult schedules, adult pressure, and adult expectations. The world saw blue gingham, ruby slippers, and that aching voice singing about somewhere over the rainbow. Behind it was a teenager learning that even hunger could be controlled by the studio.
Garland later remembered the food battle as one of the clearest wounds of her childhood. She said, “From the time I was 13, there was a constant struggle between MGM and me, whether or not to eat, how much to eat.”
That one memory says more than a whole studio memo ever could. For Judy, childhood at MGM was not only about rehearsals, cameras, songs, and costumes. It was about watching every bite. It was about being told that talent was not enough unless the body carrying that talent matched the image the studio wanted to sell. She was not allowed to simply grow up. She had to remain camera-ready.
Louis B. Mayer’s MGM was built on control. The studio controlled contracts, publicity, romances, schedules, diets, and reputations. Stars were made to look effortless, but the effort was brutal. A young girl being trained to ignore her body because the set needed her awake, thin, bright, and smiling. The damage did not look like damage at first. It looked like professionalism. It looked like discipline. It looked like show business.
And that is why Judy Garland’s story still feels so disturbing. The tragedy was not only that she died young. The tragedy was that so many warning signs were treated as normal because the machine kept making money. The voice kept selling tickets. The image kept shining. Dorothy kept smiling.
By adulthood, Garland’s relationship with pills, sleep, food, and self-worth had already been shaped by years of pressure. The public saw comebacks, marriages, concerts, collapses, applause, and headlines. But the deeper story stayed the same. A child had been taught that love from Hollywood came with conditions.
So the question was never only how Judy Garland died in 1969. The darker question is when the accident really began. Was it in London, or was it years earlier on a studio lot, when a teenage girl was handed control, correction, pills, hunger, fame, and fear, then told to sing beautifully anyway?

Good Evening and good news my niece made it through a grueling day. My children
were there all day and everyone is bone tired. All four of our kids were there and their
cousins some flew in from S. California. This niece is one of the family favorites and fun
to be around. 😎🎈

Niece works hard and lives her life. I know she wants to see her Dog the one she took
on a plane to New York City and they did things in Central Park West. 😎💕

The doctors did start the breast reconstruction this will have to be done in two phases.
I am waiting to learn her treatment plan which they will discuss with her once all tests
are back. Niece is in good spirits she has a way to go but off she goes. 💕

I was on the phone part of the day with my sister her mother sis lives in Colorado and niece
is in GA she has an excellent cancer team. My sister has a medical procedure and could not
travel but will come in a couple of weeks meanwhile she has an army of Aunts and Cousin
who are able to help her. The doctors said she can go home tomorrow with strict instructions.

Here is something to cool things off what a day. 😎Thank you for your prayers they really
help. All we can do is move forward I will FaceTime her tomorrow once she has all the
information and instructions on taking care of her surgical procedure. I hope they were able
to remove all the cancer the test will tell. I don’t wish this on any woman.

I am still feeding the cats and keeping them cool I put Ice Cubes in their water bowl it is
very hot in Oz. 😎 I am doing my best.

It is 85 degrees, but with the humidity and dewpoint, it is over 100. I was up early this morning and thought I would be able to do a wash. No such luck. The sky darkened and we had a thunder storm that lasted over an hour. We had rain up until noon or so. More expected. July brought us some much needed droplets. I think I read somewhere that we have had over 7 1/2 inches. We still have a long way to go to end the drought situation. At least we are heading in the right direction.

I wish your niece well. She must be very nervous and the family is also. I hope this cancer was caught in time and the road to recovery will be an easy one to follow. I will be sending prayers her way. May she have a good outcome.

The animals don’t like this heat either. Good idea with ice cubes in the water, though you should check that the water is cool every so often. I would keep a fan going on your porch even when they are not around. The cool breeze will make them happy. I assume Poppy has found the coolest place in his home. Take care. Stay safe. Don’t stay outside for any lenght of time.

Good Evening thank you for your thoughts on my niece. My niece is not nervous like all
women about to have the unkindest cut she is concerned as she should be. This is a long
lonely journey and she will get through it just like her mother my sister. 😎💕

My sister had a double Mastectomy and all the complications that goes with it.
This is not a family gene this is coming from somewhere. My surgery was a walk in
the park compared to my niece and her mother. 😎They did catch it early it’s the location
of the cancer. Niece has a Master’s in Ed. and have traveled the world and is still young she
still have a lot of living to do maybe even more so.

All four of our children her cousins will be at her bedside and waiting room she will spend
the night just to be sure and then the real work begins. Niece is having a implant she is not
vain it’s just so something is there. My procedure turned out great i still wear my same bras.
I can still do a push up. This is all about getting your mammogram on time every year and she
did that is how it was discovered.

I had something funny happen tonight one of the cats I feed and play with owner came
very desperate looking for Charlie her cat and she pulled out her Iphone and showed me
a picture of her missing cat I said that is Charlie he comes here everyday and I feed him.
Charlie likes to stay under my huge Flower Planter. 😎💕Suddenly Charlie appeared from
my back Patio and she was so happy. The lady told me someone told her about me. I said
well you came to the right place. I take care of four cats and I keep good food and fresh
water out for them and I look out for them. The lady was in tears as she take her cat and come
to find out we have been neighbors for a very long time I can see her house from my indoor
Patio that is why her cat comes over everyday just like the other Charlie. I mentioned our
neighbors by name and we know them all. I could see the relief wash over her. 💕

Oz is triple digits as I type this post. I am going to take a nice Korres Shower and tomorrow
is another day. 💕

Sleep well tonight my family said Colorado is in a deep drought so they are praying
for rain. 💕😎🎈

Good Evening I have a lot going on in my life I just make it look easy. That’s what I do.
I did the Vibes of Summer out of my mind within 15 minutes. I am making those images

No you did not bother me with the C word i just wanted you to know why i asked the prayers.
My niece is only in her early 30’s and they found the beast last month tomorrow she will lose
a part of her my sister lost and is still battling the aftermath. No worries she will have an
implant I am still in shock it came to this that is why I am on the low side. My faith will get
me through. See why I do this thread the way I do it? No one knows what is really going
on in people’s lives. i don’t live in a bubble i am alive and I have a good life. 😎🎈

All our children will be at her bedside and waiting room tomorrow when she has the surgery.
The kids will never return to OZ when the time is right some day I will be around our children.😎

Enjoy something cool we have been in triple digits all day and I am going to jump in the
