Thank you Sheba, Taci and Shoelday for helping me through this. This person was special and was our matron of honor at our wedding many many years ago. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the funeral. However, I just learned that it will be televised over closed circuit and those that cannot attend in person will be able to be part of the congregation from wherever they are. The family, at one time almost lived door-to-door. But as we grew older we all went in different directions. Each of us took different paths. With the advent of the computer, cell phones, androids, etc., e-mail has become the choice. Some of us long for the days of our youth when family would get together for the holidays and then find some excuse in between. Those were the days that the only loud bang was from the sound of thunder or a firecracker on the 4th of July. You could walk late at night without a problem where the only sound you heard were your footsteps. Times changed in a blink of an eye. We were from totally different generations. We never looked down, always looked ahead to the new adventures.

Hubs is OK. I brought him shrimp cocktail and some dessert. His dinner from the rehab was soso. He had steak fries with chicken nuggets and cole slaw. Not something I would have chosen for dinner. At least it wasn’t pureed. He asked me to go to the Farmer’s Market for fruit. He gave me a list. Stone fruit is on sale and is one of my favorites. However, I will venture out that way the end of the week.

We are expecting rain for the next three days beginning tomorrow. Hubs also asked for Asian food. I will need to figure out what he can eat. I am being extremely careful. I do not want him coughing up a storm. Temps this week will be over 100. UV index is up as well. Never a dull moment in Florida.

Oodie, If you can’t make it in person then online is a great solution. We did that with my Mother since it was during Covid and her friends were elders and it wouldn’t have been great for them to go out and about.
Yes, times have changed and it’s so crowded here it’s hard to go anywhere these days.

I did that for a cousin and we are very close but could not make it to TN so it was
shown online. 💕

My family text and FaceTime all the time that is how I see so many in real time. 💕

Things have changed over time some for the better and some not so good.

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Oodie I read your post from last night and you
are reading me like a book. This is not a good week for me and I have many reasons but
at least I show up. 😎I believe in honoring thy mother and thy father makes one have

Niece is not liking the drains in her and they will come out later this week. I am doing my

Once Hubs Mother went to the hospital the 1st time in April, we had to call off any travels or house hunting. We really do want to move. I keep threatening to tear the house down and rebuild it if we don’t move 🙂 lol.

Hubs is really going above and beyond to help his mother. She seems to be in hospice care back at Assisted Living for now but we’re not sure why the Dr’s suggested hospice as she is still fiesty and aware. I think if she gains some weight it won’t be needed.

I stayed home today. Headaches on and off starting around 1pm. Weather was the culprit so what else is new.? Just had another thunderstorm. Headache and all other aches and pains gone until the next low. In the barometer. At least we had some much needed rain.

Tomorrow is garbage day. Not enough for recycle. Everything is ready to put into the barrel in the morning. Hubs enjoyed the milkshake from Culvers. I also picked up shrimp cocktail while at Costco. He will enjoy that tomorrow along with some other goodies. Just hope I can get there. I do not like staying home. On the other hand he really starts to be overly concerned. When I have a reaction to the weather or sulfites.

I think I will call it a day . so sorry to hear about her father in law. I thought she and her hubby had taken a trip. You were on the right path. I know this week will not be easy. Just do what you feel like doing. Nothing more. Nothing less. hope you see many butterflies as you do this and that.

Hi Sheba, Sorry for such a long absence but helping hubs with his parental issues which has been a bit crazy. His Mother went to the hospital 1st, Then hubs moved them into Assisted Living, then they both were sent off to the hospital. His Father passed and his Mother just returned to the Asst. Living. Just taking a lot of time.

Sheba had a feeling something was off. I thought you and hubs had found a house or you took some time off. So sorry to hear about your husband’s dad. My console sciences to you three. Today was our thunderstorm day. Except for about three hours from 10:00-1:00, heavy rain all day.⛈️ At least we didn’t have a tornado warning.

Made it to Costco. It was a madhouse. Never saw so many people. I am now well stocked with food. I even found some surprises for hubs.

I arrived home after 9pm. Everything is put away. I sat down and must have fallen asleep. At least it was in bed and not at the computer (lol).

Triple digits not pretty. We have been in triples since June and will not see lower temps before October/November. December and, hopefully, January and February will see a cool down. Weather being what it is you never know.

I still get those migraines. However, the meds now are helping. We are expecting tropical rain today . it will be like this most of the day. Not sure if I will see hubs due to on street flooding. It will be a wait and see thing. It will be cloudy all day and into the night. Guess we will miss the big show in the sky. Oh well.

Glad your niece is feeling good and is improving daily. Hope she hears some good news from all the tests. Have a wonderful Sunday. Love that the kitties and possum show up to their favorite restaurant every night. I surmise they are in love with the chef.

Not a bad day here, overcast, so that kept the heat down. Tomorrow is our rain day.

Good Evening i only eat very light during the dog days of summer it’s too hot to eat
heavy food. 😎

Lady my favorite black cat named Kitty Kitty who I have had over three years and stays
in my neighbor’s backyard that is fenced in was waiting on me to bring the food and I am
glad I took as the sun was going down. I was so happy to see him and know he is eating
the food and is alright. I went back and added some good wet food to make sure he is
eating well. I miss him being on the front porch which as big beautiful plants. 😎🎈

I feed Ms. Kitty too she is spoiled I am working on getting her straight about who comes
on my porch. Ms. Kitty will let me touch her and clean her she is fixed and may have a chip.
This is great at least i won’t find a litter of kittens. I would not know what to do. i still would

Just when I thought Charlize Theron’s ‘The Odyssey’ press tour was over, she pulls this out.

For the Beijing premiere, she wore Louis Vuitton, and this instantly became my favourite look of the entire press tour. Although it’s a silver metal chain dress, the warm gold backdrop, the lighting and the camera flashes made it appear almost entirely gold in photographs. The effect immediately took me back to Charlize’s iconic Dior J’Adore campaign.

What I also appreciated was how naturally it connected to The Odyssey. There was something armour-like about the design that suited the scale of the film without relying on obvious method dressing. Sometimes the strongest references are the ones that don’t need spelling out.

After weeks of following every appearance, this was the unforgettable fashion moment I’d been waiting for.

I heard a clap of thunder around 3 or 4am. It rained on and off all morning. The afternoon the sun said hello. The weather is something else. The heat, humidity and dew point really gets to me. More aches and pains that I never felt before. Migraine headaches that just come on all of a sudden. I assume being North will have the same effects.

I finally made it to Aldi’s. My freezer and frig are now happy. Glad I went since the weekend looks like a huge rain event. Looks like the Gulf is tharowing a tantrum . Rip Current has been extended for another day. So far, this is the only alert. Though I dread shopping on the weekend, will try to make it to Costco in between the raindrops.

I was under the weather all day yesterday. Not sure if it was a sulfite thing or a stomach virus. Ended up taking meds for both. Could not reach the doctor’s office and not able to drive to a walk-in. Neighbor next door had a bad fall and broke her ankle. She can barely walk and I am surprised that she is not using a cane or walker.

I did see hubs today. He was in his wheelchair in the hallway. Good spirits. I had a delivery from Sam’s and one of the items was a potato dish with scallions and cheese. It was really good. So I heated a couple and brought them to hubs for a treat. You should have seen that smile from one end to another. He said they were better than mine. I still need to shop at Aldi’s and Costco. By t he way, Sam’s has a tropical fruit platter in their deli section. I will be taking a look at that to see if it would be good for hubs as well as the nurse’s station. Our Farmer’s Market has started to cut in some areas Their ad is now 4 pages and may be consolidated into two. Fruit and veggies are now nowhere in sight. Looks like they are not taking chances, even those from Fl;orida.

Traffic today was horrendous. Took me 20 minutes to make a right hand turn. I surmise people are done with their awaycations. School starts Monday for some schools in Florida, others start the following week. Take care. Hope your niece is following doctor’s orders. I am praying that there are no surprises when the tests come back. Have a great walk with Poppy. It’s too cloudy to see the moon. Rain for us tomorrow beginning around 8am and going past noon. I will go shopping after it passes.

i am doing a little of this and that. I have on the phone with family and so far so good. 😎

We have a lot of birthdays this week and next I am feeling a little blue for the family
that are not here so I will snap out of it soon. My dad’s passing will mark an anniversary
next week this is affecting me as I will be at his gravesite cleaning and putting fresh flowers
on it. 💕

I am doing my best and life moves on. 🎈 Miss Kitty is at the door wanting a treat and I am
going to give it to her. LOL! I see she is enjoying the wet rain too.

Good evening to you. The day just got away from me. I had to run to the doc’s late afternoon so hubs and I stopped at a local pub for dinner.🍺🌮 Now I have clothes in the dryer. The never-ending day.

I meant to ask you if there were any Taylor observations lately in your area. I know he’s at camp but they do get a couple days off.💕 Mom and sis are hanging in through these dog days of summer.
