I just finished a cup of chicken bone broth with Raman noodles and wontons. Yum.

Spent the afternoon and evening with hubs. He was on the lanai when I arrived with his roommate. I didn’t recognize him until he turned the wheelchair around. He lost a lot of weight, but had is gradually getting more energy. His face is starting to look like himself. The RN ended up working the morning and evening shifts. She looked so drawn. The aides were almost down to nothing. Limited staff not a good idea.

Hubby ate in the dining room. His plate was the next level up and I was impressed. He ate everything and if the plate was food, he would have found a way to enjoy that also. For the most part, the A/C was not on until after dinner. One of the aides brought me a plate as well. And, yes, I tried something that gave me a sulfite attack. Hubs noticed, however, I carry the meds just in case and it brought it down to a nothing. This one was a bit scary because my throat started to close and itch. The meds kicked in right away and I am fine even now. After dinner we sat in the lanai and then when the A/C came on we headed to his room. Last week I brought the wearable blanket to the rehab and tonight he said he was extremely chilled. So I helped him to put it on. My only regret is not telling the RN to look in on him. I am so afraid that he can overheat during the night. The switchboard is closed and there is no way for me to make a call to the nurse’s station. I am extremely worried and concerned. So much so that I may take a ride this evening.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter. Showers were in the forecast. Nothing happened. Tomorrow is another day.

Good evening hubby and i were with family today and we had a wonderful time. 🎈😎💕
Our kids in GA is helping my brother and wife with their kids and are in Florida for a
week long vacation they drove. All is safe and sound.

We had a thunderstorm roll through and I went out to make sure the animals were fed.

I shout down everything and charged all the devices that needed to be charged.

I am wishing you and hubby a nice Passover. 💕Sorry to hear he is losing weight but
on that diet they have him on does not help. I wish he could eat some good whole foods.

Good to see you are on the mend. Oz is around 50 degrees and will remain for the rest
of the day. Well we have clean streets and yards so that is something to be thankful for. 💕😎

We plan to have a nice Easter just celebrating the day. 💕

I am glad you are getting back to your stride just take it easy you can’t do everything in
one day. I try sometimes and it does not work LOL!

I was hoping to get an early start to see hubs. But, I had a soda that gave me some problems and then some. Who would have thought that a bottle of diet cola would have sulfites. Thank goodness for my sinus meds that kicked in, but, made me fall asleep.

Managed to drive to the Farmer’s Market and found parking at a premium. The place was a madhouse, but I managed to find the lobster roll and some other goodies. I even picked one up for the receptionist. The lobster looked fresh and did not have anything mixed in except for some salad greens. I was finally able to enjoy it after seeing hubs. It was sweet and so delicious. Worth the wait and the treat. Not quite what we have on the Cape, but really good nevertheless. Instead of an Italian roll, the Market used a hotdog roll. That was OK since that roll and others are made on the premises. During the week I will try the stuffed flounder with lobster. Hubs begged me for a bite when I mentioned it was on sale this week. I will need to sneak it in since he is still on puree foods.

Hoping the weather will ease up tomorrow so you all can enjoy a beautiful Easter Sunday. Stay safe.

The designer who changed women’s wardrobes and Richard Gere’s girlfriend—it sounds like the ultimate 1970s headline, doesn’t it? Fifty years ago, Diane von Fürstenberg didn’t just create a piece of clothing; she handed women a uniform for their own revolution.
It was 1974 when the world first saw the wrap dress. It was simple, made of jersey, and had no zippers or buttons. It hugged every curve while remaining perfectly professional. In just two short years, Diane sold over a million of them. By 1976, she was staring back at the world from the cover of Newsweek, labeled the most powerful woman in fashion since Coco Chanel. But the story isn’t just about fabric and sales figures; it’s about a woman who looked at the world and decided to be the one in charge.
The connection to Richard Gere adds a layer of Hollywood glamour to an already cinematic life. Back in the late 1970s, after her separation from Prince Egon, Diane was the “it-girl” of New York, and Gere was the rising star of American Gigolo. Their fling was the talk of the town, a meeting of two incredibly beautiful and ambitious people at the peak of their magnetism. Yet, even when dating one of the most desired men in the world, Diane never let herself be defined by the man on her arm. She was always the protagonist of her own story.

However, the road to the top was not a straight line. By the late 1980s, the “wrap dress mania” had cooled down, and the market became oversaturated. Diane faced a massive financial crisis that nearly ended her career.
She faced bankruptcy as her business struggled to stay relevant in a changing fashion landscape. She had to sell her brand’s licenses and moved to Paris to start over, away from the New York spotlight. It was a humbling time, but she refused to let her story end in defeat.
She realized that her brand was her identity. In the late 90s, she noticed young women were buying her original dresses in vintage shops. Seeing this, she staged a massive comeback. She once told the press,
“I didn’t have a choice. I had to prove that I wasn’t just a one-hit-wonder of the seventies.”
She successfully bought back her name and re-launched the wrap dress for a new generation, proving that true style and a strong spirit never go out of fashion.
Today, Diane isn’t just sitting back and looking at her trophies. As the president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), she has been a fierce advocate for health and diversity, pushing for better standards for models on the catwalk. She wants the industry to care as much about the women wearing the clothes as it does about the clothes themselves.
Her story is a masterclass in resilience. She faced financial ruin, health scares, and the pressures of the public eye, yet she always came back stronger. She proved that you can be elegant and tough, a mother and a mogul, a princess and a self-made woman. She taught us that clothes shouldn’t disguise who you are; they should reveal the best version of you.

I arrived home just about an hour ago after being with hubs. He lost a great deal of weight, though his beard is now non existent and his hair a bit shorter. Hopefully, the rehab staff will help him regain some pounds. But, his hands are stronger. I just hope he will be alright.

This morning I awoke to some back pain and took what I needed. That pain subsided within a few minutes and has stayed away all day. For the first time in three months I was able to go up and down the three steps in the carport without a problem. I was so excited that I did it quite a few times. The weather does play an important part to this. I just hope that Sunday will be a good day to start using the legs again. It sure will be nice to be able to walk the mile to the mailbox and return without a hitch. Not to worry. I will be taking it slow to get to that point.

The day started off with some rain and right now it is beautiful. Lots of windows open for some fresh air. Monday and Tuesday we will have lows in the 20s and 30s.🥶

Mom might have a stomach bug. Sis said yesterday she was running to the bathroom. Not sure if she made it to church today but she will watch whatever is on TV. She watches mass every single day on TV.🙏 Looks like we may do our own thing on Easter🧺🐰

I missed seeing the moon last night in all it’s pink glory. Instead I was trying to convert a PDF file into something I could send to our Accountant through e-mail. This started at 10 AM and continued to midnight. I finally resorted to an AI for help. It became an amazing adventure and the outcome worked like a charm. Who kniew the capabilities of one tiny thing that floats within a cloud. Has no arms, legs or facial features and sits in a chair waiting for the next problem. Consequently, I did not see hubs and he will get an earful of what I did. I also missed the First Seder, but the end result was worth everything.

Today, when I awoke, to a sunny morning, it felt great. No pain and the ability to move around seemed endless. The packet was now ready for the Accountant. I was ready to leave around 1 pm and the pain in the side and lower back returned. The clouds came and you would think it would rain, but zero, zilch, denada. I took one pill for the pain and two hours later I was ready for another. I learned, later, that we would have some rain chances, finally. I finally left for the USPS to drop off the packet. I could not shop. Sat in the car for a few minutes and drove home.
Ar’pimd 6 pm saw lightning and then a hube clash of thunder and torrents of rain. So glad I was home and indoors. Tomorrow the same scenario which will probably get me out of the house for gas and then on to see hubs. Not sure about shopping, though the Farmer’s Market has lobster rolls for $14.00 ea.. Also stuffed flounder with lobster stuffing. Two of my favorites along with salmon which is also on sale. We will have another round of lower temps next week. We will not see anything higher than the low 60s. Nighttime lows in the 40s to mid 50s. Nice spring like temps that I love. No high temps. No humidity.

Went for a haircut and made a quick stop at the supermarket. Not sure what we are doing for Easter. We normally do brunch or dinner but mom still fighting a cold so it will depend on how she feels.🤧

On October 23, 1999, just three months after the tragic plane crash, a close friend of Carolyn Bessette shared something few people ever knew. John F. Kennedy Jr. had been quietly planning a new life for Carolyn—one where she could finally find peace. He was arranging meetings with documentary filmmakers and dreaming of starting a small production company so she could work behind the camera, away from the constant attention that had made her life so difficult.
What many people never realized is that Carolyn did not rush into John’s world. She resisted him for almost a year. She turned him down again and again because she knew the price of loving a Kennedy—no privacy, no normal life. Friends from her days at Calvin Klein remember how John would send flowers to her office with notes signed only, “The guy from the elevator.” It was a quiet joke between them, remembering the first time they met in 1992, when they were stuck together in an elevator for twenty minutes, talking about everything except his famous name.
One of the most touching details came out years later. Their wedding planner revealed that Carolyn had sewn a small piece of her late father’s favorite tie into the hem of her wedding dress. John, in his own way, carried love and memory too—he kept his mother’s rosary beads in his jacket pocket, specially blessed, close to his heart. They both walked into their marriage carrying private grief, but also deep love.
For their first wedding anniversary on September 21, 1997, John planned something deeply personal. He rented the entire Strand Bookstore in Manhattan after hours because Carolyn once said her perfect date would have books, music, and no crowds. He filled the bookstore with candles and hired a violinist. That night, hidden from the world, they slow-danced between the shelves and read poetry to each other until morning.
It was an evening without cameras, without noise—just two people finding safety and comfort in each other’s arms, surrounded by stories written by strangers, while quietly writing their own.
