Passover, or Pesach, is an eight-day Jewish holiday that celebrates the emancipation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt. For 2026, Passover begins before sundown on Wednesday, April 1, and ends after nightfall on Thursday, April 9. This year, it runs concurrently with Christian Holy Week that begins with Palm Sunday and ends on Easter. 🫓🍷🐑🩸

APRIL FOOLS’ DAY

April Fools’ Day on April 1st has long been a day when practical jokes and tricks are played on the unaware. It’s a time when children convince their parents they’ve broken a bone. Parents get in on the planning, too.

NATIONAL TOM FOOLERYS DAY

April 1 is National Tom Foolerys Day on the National Day Calendar, and we are celebrating with harmless pranks, silly tricks, shenanigans, and, of course, tomfoolery. April 1 also happens to be the birthday of Tom Foolery, a character developed by Kalahari Resorts, home to America’s largest indoor waterparks. This is no April Fool’s joke! We are dedicating an entire day to celebrating the spirit of adventure, play, and a little bit of trickery, in all of us.

PASSOVER BEGINS

Every year, the spring festival called Passover is celebrated for 8 days. Traditionally known as a major Jewish holiday, many Christians have also begun to take part in celebrating Passover. The date of the festival is in accordance with the first full moon in the Hebrew calendar month, Nissan. For this reason, the date changes every year.

TAKE DOWN TOBACCO NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION

Take Down Tobacco National Day of Action is a national day of activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco. A part of the Kick Butts campaign, the initiative not only empowers students to say no to tobacco and e-cigarettes but also gives them the tools to become a tobacco-free generation.

NATIONAL SOURDOUGH BREAD DAY

National Sourdough Bread Day on April 1st recognizes one of the world’s oldest leavened breads.

NATIONAL WALKING DAY

The first Wednesday in April is National Walking Day and it encourages Americans of all ages to get out and stretch their legs and get their hearts pumping. The American Heart Association sponsors this day to remind people about the health benefits of taking a walk. Wear your sneakers (or take them with you) to work, and at some point in the day, take a 30-minute walk.

NATIONAL ONE CENT DAY

What do Benjamin Franklin, the phrase “mind your business,” April 1st, and National One Cent Day all have in common? The answer is the penny, which we recognize on National One Cent Day.

CHILDHELP NATIONAL DAY OF HOPE

Childhelp National Day of Hope takes place each year during National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The first Wednesday in April is set aside to ask the country to make a life-long commitment to joining the fight to end child abuse and neglect.

The Full Moon in April, the Pink Moon, occurs Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 10:12 p.m. EDT
The name comes from the early spring bloom of a wildflower native to eastern North America commonly known as creeping phlox. This flower, sometimes called “moss pink,” was often in full bloom during April and symbolized rebirth after the winter. The Pink Moon, was also known as the Egg Moon, Full Sprouting Grass Moon, or Full Fish Moon by various native American cultures.

We have the same weather as you, rain chances every day.🌧️ Temps okay but cooler on Easter Sunday. I saw one of my bunnies last night hopping across the yard, so cute.🐰

a little fun I like give people something to look at.

This is not easy to do believe me but I can do it in my sleep and I have done it in the
hospital, traveling and even passing of loved ones. All off the top of my head. 😎

On October 23, 1999, just three months after the tragic plane crash, a close friend of Carolyn Bessette shared something few people ever knew. John F. Kennedy Jr. had been quietly planning a new life for Carolyn—one where she could finally find peace. He was arranging meetings with documentary filmmakers and dreaming of starting a small production company so she could work behind the camera, away from the constant attention that had made her life so difficult.
What many people never realized is that Carolyn did not rush into John’s world. She resisted him for almost a year. She turned him down again and again because she knew the price of loving a Kennedy—no privacy, no normal life. Friends from her days at Calvin Klein remember how John would send flowers to her office with notes signed only, “The guy from the elevator.” It was a quiet joke between them, remembering the first time they met in 1992, when they were stuck together in an elevator for twenty minutes, talking about everything except his famous name.
One of the most touching details came out years later. Their wedding planner revealed that Carolyn had sewn a small piece of her late father’s favorite tie into the hem of her wedding dress. John, in his own way, carried love and memory too—he kept his mother’s rosary beads in his jacket pocket, specially blessed, close to his heart. They both walked into their marriage carrying private grief, but also deep love.
For their first wedding anniversary on September 21, 1997, John planned something deeply personal. He rented the entire Strand Bookstore in Manhattan after hours because Carolyn once said her perfect date would have books, music, and no crowds. He filled the bookstore with candles and hired a violinist. That night, hidden from the world, they slow-danced between the shelves and read poetry to each other until morning.
It was an evening without cameras, without noise—just two people finding safety and comfort in each other’s arms, surrounded by stories written by strangers, while quietly writing their own.
