NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CANDY DAY

National Chocolate Candy Day offers an opportunity for us to polish off the last of the specialty candies we received as gifts. Celebrated on December 28th, the day points us to the truffles and chocolate oranges tucked into stockings. Check those boxes of candy that may or may not have guides to help us choose cream-filled or ganache.

NATIONAL CARD PLAYING DAY

National Card Playing Day on December 28th encourages us to invite our friends to deal out a hand and play a game or two.

NATIONAL SHORT FILM DAY

overwhelm with all the Reno and visiting your husband. Just rest when you can.

I stayed home today to play a bit of catchup. Tomorrow is garbage and recycle. Both are now at the curb. I will be doing an extra wash tomorrow for some of our winter clothing. Starting Tuesday we will be in the 60s and 40s overnight. I think hubs has some warm clothes at the rehab and I will be checking his closet tomorrow. Yes, I am finally feeling much better. Great to be able to do things again.

I also like the paw print. Bet Poppy’s paw is lots smaller. You could probably attach it to his collar. I can visualize it and the many oohs and ahhs when you are out and about with him.

Hope to finally make it to the Farmer’s Market tomorrow. I also will take a look at some food items for hubs. He loves their homemade soup and I purchased the 2 warmers from Curtis Stone. I wish that it came with a plug in for a vehicle. These will come in handy to use in hubs room. I also will be purchasing the items to make the Asian Winter Soup. Pork ribs is the main ingreditent. I am debating about using the slow cooker. I will add honeydew and Dragon fruit to the mix. Hubby keeps asking for apples. I may skin either one or two and throw that into it as well. The veggies will include carrots, bok choy, string beans, summer squash and some others that will give it color. From start to finish it takes no more than an hour and a half. There is an Asian market in the Tampa area that cuts the ribs New York style. This also makes it a Dim Sum style. Love it both ways.

Have a great evening. Hope your hubby gets Friday off this week. After all the partying, I would dread getting up in the wee hours to get ready for a work day. Oh well.

New Year’s Eve. I will make my annual visit to my neighbor two doors down who I

Hubby pulled some strings and does not have to go back to work until well
after the New Year. 😎🎈I will take advantage of this time there is plenty to do
in OZ. 🎈😎💕

Just opened a package from Heidi. It probably was delivered either Friday or Saturday. What I received was the Art Deco necklace with matching bracelet in the sapphire. Absolutely loving it and not only gorgeous, but the clasp is like hiding. You really need to hunt for the clasp. As always, no flaws,. I will be wearing this ensemble New Years Eve. 😀😀🍾🧨🚗🎵🎹I am now debating about the clear. I am over the moon on this one.

Sheba, good to hear everyone is enjoying or enjoyed their travels.
Hubs and I traveled today (not really far) to hike in a Forest type area. He asked up hill hike or traverse and then up hill? and why does he ask? I love uphill hikes so we did it and while I loved it he was getting a bit tired: maybe having some 2nd thoughts but he got me back when I had to cross a small creek lol. No animal sightings although we know they are all there including some pesky mosquitoes.

Very humid with temps in the upper 70s today. Cooler temps will start Wednesday for a few days.
Your SIL and brother picked a great time to make a stop in Orlando. From where they were it’s about two or two and a half hours to our home on the West coast depending upon the Disney traffic. There will be rail service from Tampa if it hasn’t already started.

Some new and interesting pieces in Heidi Daus. She is scheduled for next week. Hope she finds her cellphone.

Sheba, Thank you for the concern. All is good where I live. We had wind and some rain in varying degrees but nothing too bad. I see some areas are hit pretty hard.
I mostly stay close to home at this time of year to avoid all the issues.

By the way, HSN is freezing my screen with all the headers so my patience is being tested.
It actually freezes my computer too (for a minute to two). If I miss posting that might be part of it. You know, my computer hit the wall…. cause I threw it…. (no really) 🙂

NATIONAL WHINERS DAY

No whining about what you did not get for Christmas or do not have
And remember what you do have
Many people are less fortunate than others. Some are struggling to put food on the table or a roof over their heads. Others have no family or friends. Families without a single gift under the tree may simply be thankful to have each other. Others may be fighting disease and illnesses, and some may have coped with all of these. You may want to whine about something (and today you are allowed) but remember to be thankful for each gift you did receive and all that you do have. (And help others when you can).

Had a real bad day that started last night. Had a sulfite reaction to yesterday’s rehab lunch with hubs. Not sure what was in the gravy or if the veggies were not fresh. Dessert was an apple pie with cinnamon that was put into an ice cream dish. Thank goodness for the meds I carry, but it was not enough to offset the reaction from last night to this evening. I will be having some soup in a few minutes.

I checked on the chiefs last night and they were ahead through the third quarter. I felt so sad for Kelsie. I hope he decides not to retire. I think he should return and leave on a high note if that is possible. He did have a good run this season, but, I think his teammates would love to see him in 2026. I know Taylor would probably let this be his decision. I guess we will need to wait and see on this one.

I did not see hubs today. I have a feeling he knows why. Tomorrow is another day. Hoping to stop at the Farmer’s Market. They have a good sale going on and it is everything I need for the freezer and veggies for the frig. Dragon fruit is on sale, so I may pick honeydew and a few other things in the fruit aisle. Cannot believe that this is the last weekend for 2025. Where has the year gone????

No bad weather today so had lunch with friends at the casino. I am not a big gambler, came home with $10 more than what I went in with so I was happy, LOL!🎰 Nice afternoon. One more dinner tomorrow.

Sis is doing fine, thanks for asking. She is much more laid back than I am. I think that happens when you are away most of your life from family. I tend to worry about everything because I was always the one called upon for help.😟

I am having a very busy day and I am fine with that. Today is one of my brothers birthday
and one of my SIL birthday. This SIL is married to my brother and they had twins. 💕LOL!

My niece is having a great time in Dublin, Ireland the King is giving a speech on the Telly.

I have a small family group and everyone is just chilling I broke down and cooked a full
meal. I have been doing this and that all week. 💕🎈😎

I am getting my energy back. 😎🎈

Oodie let me know how your day goes and I hope you are able to visit your husband.
Soon I hope he is home and you both can have the time of your lives. 💕🎈

Merry Christmas from our hearts to yours. I know today is a difficult one. Missing family during any holiday is not easy. However some of the instances that made us laugh seems to linger on during this season. Hope you find time to watch the game.

I have been at the Rehab since 11:30. Hubs and I had Christmas lunch together. The food wasn’t great, but being with him was just beautiful. He grinned ear to ear when he saw me.This will be a long day, but it’s worth it. Makes both of us smile.

I have a couple of cookie tins to hand out. It’s the third shift that I need to do. Guess that will happen Monday when most return. I hope you had a great day . I am super happy that your SIL is enjoying a vacation in Fl.. They picked a sunny week to take in the sights and sounds. What a great way to celebrate after all she has been through. I am still praying for her good health and then some. It also includes you. By the way, I would put an apron on Poppy and let him clean up. Merry Christmas.

Good Evening and thank you for your kind thoughts about my family. Brother and SIL
are in Orlando and they have a beautiful B&B they rented it is the size of Texas.
We Facetimed and they have a hot tub and huge swimming pool. 😎🎈💕
They needed this fun in the sun what a tough year the entire family have had.

I have lost many relatives on this day and it hurts but I also remember the laughter and the
life we all had. I just try to keep it moving. Most of all I miss my father. 💕😘

This is exactly how Poppy looks. 💕We gave him some turkey breast I have a list of
food not to feed him and I have safe food list. 😎

Glad your Niece is having a great trip in Ireland. We really keep meaning to get there but there is so much to see all over even here at home.
The rain wasn’t too bad here, but we had a lot of wind last night. I found a few branches from a tree which was unusual. Today I hiked and lots of people were out too. I loved that! People with their dogs in Christmas headbands and fun things.

Merry Christmas to you and the family.🎄🎅 Spent the day relaxing at home with hubs and having leftovers from yesterday’s dinner out. We are supposed to have lunch with some friends tomorrow but may have to cancel because of the weather. The day is supposed to start out with freezing rain/ice in the morning🌧️and then rain in the afternoon. One of those wait and see days.
