I took a tumble Thursday afternoon. I tripped over a cookie tin and ended up hitting the side of my head against the front door. No wounds. Just black and blue on the entire left side. However, for four days I did a front and backward crawl because it was too painful to stand. I ended up not eating, drinking or taking meds for that length of time. I haven’t seen hubs since last Wednesday. Thankfully, yesterday early morning, the left leg was not too painful and I have been trying to patch things up. I will not see hubs today because the left leg keeps buckling. Thankfully, both the frig and freezer are full. I am OK now and hopefully will be with hubs tomorrow. I will keep you posted.

Just finished watching the hockey game curled up on the couch with a blanket. Did a little undecorating earlier. Can’t get the old body moving today, sinuses still bothering me and still cold outside, high of 27.🥶 Warming up some mid-week.

Guess I’ll watch the football games after I throw a quickie dinner together.🏈 With the Chiefs out, I have no real favorites right now.

Sheba, Hello. We went to the Auto Show. I was prepped for rain and all sorts of flooding but it didn’t rain and there was no sign of floods. Maybe other areas are affected and we just didn’t see it. We took the train and then walked about 1 mile. It was a nice day, and great not to have to drive.
Oz sounds cold. How are the cats doing? Did Santa bring Poppy his cologne?

Good afternoon in Oz. Cold here also but at least we didn’t get more snow last night. Still didn’t sleep good, maybe one of these nights I will get back to normal. Too many weekends these last couple of weeks, getting the days all confused.😕

Did you happen to watch the Sugar Bowl last night?🏈 My niece goes to the University of Georgia, that’s why I watched. Not too into college football but what a game. Came down to the last minute. Georgia lost but both teams played great. Hockey team won three in a row, hard to believe!😲

Taking it easy, hubs brought home some fried chicken so that’s dinner.🍗 Warm hugs to you and all the fur kids.🤗💖

We are bone cold in Oz I have the sniffles from going in and out feeding the animals.
Some nights were in the teens and lower. I don’t care the animals have to eat.
I am now back to sleeping like a baby running up and down stairs and fixing food

In 2022, they welcomed their first child, a son named Edwin Moran in honor of Tatiana’s father, designer Edwin Schlossberg, and their joy multiplied as they discovered the profound love that comes with parenthood, building a quiet life in New York filled with the simple pleasures of family dinners, weekend visits to Martha’s Vineyard, and dreams of watching their children grow. Two years later, in May 2024, Tatiana gave birth to their second child, a daughter named Josephine, but just hours after delivery, doctors noticed her white blood cell count was alarmingly high, and George, who was then a urology resident at the hospital, immediately began calling friends who were primary-care doctors and ob-gyns, desperately hoping the diagnosis would be something treatable, something temporary. When the results came back revealing acute myeloid leukemia with a rare mutation called Inversion 3, their world shattered into a nightmare they never imagined, but George never wavered, not even for a single moment. As Tatiana underwent eighteen months of chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants from her sister Rose, CAR-T-cell therapy, and countless clinical trials, George slept on hospital floors, talked to insurance companies and doctors when she couldn’t bear to, rushed home to put their toddler and infant to bed, and returned with her favorite dinner, never complaining even when the steroids made her rage about something as small as preferring Canada Dry ginger ale over Schweppes. In her devastating November 2025 New Yorker essay that broke hearts across the nation, Tatiana called her husband perfect and wrote that she felt so cheated and sad that she wouldn’t get to keep living the wonderful life she had with this kind, funny, handsome genius she managed to find, words that captured both the depth of their love and the cruel injustice of terminal illness stealing away a future they had built together so carefully. Tatiana wrote with heartbreaking honesty about how her three-year-old son Edwin might have a few faint memories of her, but her daughter Josephine, just 18 months old, would never remember her mother at all, and how she never really got the chance to change her daughter’s diaper, give her a bath, or feed her because she started treatment immediately after giving birth. Through every devastating moment, every failed treatment, every new complication, George remained her rock, her advocate, her partner in the truest sense of the word, demonstrating the kind of unconditional love and devotion that most people only read about in novels. He balanced being a full-time physician, a single parent to two babies who needed stability, and a husband caring for his dying wife, somehow finding strength none of them knew existed, all while watching the love of his life slip away despite every medical intervention available. On December 30, 2025, Tatiana passed away at age 35, just over a month after her essay revealed her terminal diagnosis, surrounded by George, their children, her parents Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg, and her siblings Rose and Jack, leaving behind a husband who had loved her with every fiber of his being from their first days at Yale through her final breath. What began in a college classroom blossomed into a love story that showed the world what true partnership looks like, not in the glamorous moments but in the hospital rooms, the sleepless nights, the gentle care during impossible suffering, proving that sometimes the greatest love stories aren’t measured by their length but by their depth, their authenticity, and the unwavering commitment two people make to stand together no matter what darkness comes their way.”

Sheba, Happy New Years Day!
Hubs and I hiked today and beat the rain. It was wet but I have hiking boots for that muddy rainy weather. I hadn’t even worn them yet this year so it was fun for me. The creeks are loud and moving quickly. We took a different path in the same forest type location. It was all uphill so I loved it and hubs suffered through it 🙂 but it was his pick. He doesn’t know but I kept looking behind me on the trail and holding out the hiking stick ( behind me) in case we met any critters on the path. We didn’t so I was happy. I did hear some Roosters though.
I know you are fit and thin. As for me, I do need to lose some weight. It’s always been that way and I always have to be careful. That’s all ok.

Happy 2026 to you! Starting off with five inches of snow, yuck.❄️❄️ Sounds like we both had the same kind of night with no sleep. Hubs has a sinus infection so got the neti pot out for him. I feel about the same, throat not as sore (yet). I’m just full of good news.

Just threw the pork in the oven with some veggies. Maybe I’ll finish the champagne with dinner.🍾 I think that was part of my problem last night with sleeping – not used to drinking it so late.

Good Evening and here is to a good night feeling better. I could not sleep because
of the noise. I finally got some rest today I had some tea hubby made and did some
laundry make a nice meal. I am watching bits and pieces of the Twilight Zone.

Rod Sterling was ahead of his time. I was not even born when this Series started.
I did see it until about 20 years ago and I watch it twice a year. I see a lot going on
in today’s world that he was writing and creating years ago. Brilliant man.

While some life-altering decisions are made on a whim, most people deliberate and weigh the pros and cons before making these types of decisions.

NO INTERRUPTIONS DAY

No Interruptions Day on the last workday of the year sets aside the day to get organized for the new year by cleaning up your workspace without interruptions.

This is the day set aside for cleaning out emails, tossing long-saved memos, and delegating those tasks that, well, just need to be delegated. Clear out those menial tasks that you dread. Get them finished and cleared off your to-do list.

Everyone’s to-do list is different. The very nature of our job dictates what we consider an organized and cleared workspace. One career may be facing new regulations while another looks at all new technology to learn. A day without interruption allows us to focus on big things and small.

However, some people use this day to focus hard on those end-of-year tasks that always seem to slip through the cracks. Often these are the details of work one pushes off until the last minute. And today is that last minute.

LEAP SECOND TIME ADJUSTMENT DAY

Leap Second Time Adjustment Day is listed as an observance title only. Some years scientists do not make adjustments. But, if they do, then it’s done on either June 30 or December 31.

The Farmer’s Market is a fun place. Very customer friendly. It is family run and it seems their party never ends especially around the holidays. Today they were opened from 8am to 6pm and the same hours will be tomorrow as well. I was surprised to see Winn Dixie was still opened after 9 pm tonight as I drove passed.

Hubby was eating dinner when I arrived. I picked up Asian food on my way in for the two of us as well as for the receptionist. The parking lot was no where near full and there is a Publix Market in the same area. I was shocked. I certainly expected to see cars upon cars and people grabbing last minute items. The Asian take out had a line going out the door. This was around 4:30pm. I had ordered wonton soup for hubby and a shrimp dish for myself. The receptionist ordered steak with onions that looked absolutely heavenly.

Hubby wasn’t hungry for dinner and left his plate. He wasn’t feeling well. Come to find out he had some phlegm caught in his throat that was driving him crazy. The aide also mentioned that he had many snacks in between as well. When I left, he was sound asleep. I didn’t dare wake him. Traffic was very light on the way home. But the traffic lights were a nemesis. I missed every single one (all eight). When I arrived home, the fireworks had started. At first I thought it was gun gire, but looking up I was relieved to see the brilliant colors of red, green, blue and white.

I am feeling better and decided to stop at the Farmer’s Market shortly after noon time. Well, I got to the parking lot OK, but it was taken over by cars, trucks, vans, etc.. No space anywhere and this is a huge place with the Dollar store, Asian takeout, beauty and other stores. I sat in my car towards the back of the lot hoping for a parking spot. After about an hour or so I gave up. Returned home and went out again around 4 pm. thinking people making dinner would give me a parking spot. Absolutely, definitely, not the case. This time I waited in an aisle and after about 45 minutes found a spot. I thought for sure I would be done in time to have a visit with hubs. No way. The market had other plans and loads of food to try and cheese boards to look at with fruit and other ideas. Needless to say I didn’t make it to the Rehab, but called the receptionist. The weather was bearable. It was over 60 degrees, but, by the time I arrived home to unload there was a breeze and the temp had started its descent.

I now have all the ingredients for the Asian Winter soup. It will be a project for New Year’s Day. I will be using the new Curtis Stone food warmer. Hubs has an outlet near the bedside table. It will be hot when he is ready to venture into it. It feels so good not to be under the weather with a sulfite thing. Over three days dealing with this thing. At least, today, I finally have color to my ashen face.

I hope and pray that Heidi found her cell. By the way, the necklace and bracelet I found were on her website. I loved this ensemble so much, I picked up another one. I will be wearing it to see hubs. It will look good with the white sweater. Temps tonight will be around 45 degrees or lower. During the day, it will not go above 60. We are under a cold advisory as well as a rip current starting at midnight. The cold is only on until 9am. I won’t be near the ocean so not to worry.

Got some unexpected snow last night and squalls throughout the day. In the 20s so not melting. Another three more inches between tomorrow evening and Thursday morning, sigh….

Hubs hasn’t felt good the last two days and now I’ve been coughing all day.🤒 What a way to start the new year. Doubt if I’ll be going to mom’s between the weather and being sick, another sigh….

Chicken soup is always the best, but I learned any soup is good to warm you and your hubby from head to foot. Add all kinds of veggies and some garlic and start feeling better. Lots of flu going around. I will ask your bartender to make you two a hot toddy Drink plenty of fluids. Hot tea with lemon comes to mind.
