NATIONAL RELIGIOUS FREEDOM DAY

Each year, National Religious Freedom Day commemorates the day the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom was signed on January 16, 1786. Each year, by Presidential Proclamation, January 16th is normally declared Religious Freedom Day.

NATIONAL WITHOUT A SCALPEL DAY

Each year on National Without a Scalpel Day January 16th recognizes the opportunities to treat disease without a scalpel. On this day in 1964, pioneering physician Charles Dotter performed the first angioplasty. The ground-breaking procedure to open a blocked blood vessel took place in Portland, Oregon. Not only did the angioplasty allow the patient to avoid leg amputation surgery, but she left the hospital days later with only a Band-Aid.

NATIONAL NOTHING DAY

Each year on January 16th, people across the nation recognize National Nothing Day.

National Nothing Day was created as a day to provide Americans with one National Day when they can just sit without celebrating, observing or honoring anything. National Day Calendar only reports the Days, sometimes they may contradict themselves. This National Day can be about nothing, or you can make nothing out of something. The choice is yours.

I just returned from visiting hubs. Yesterday I paid $8 to have dinner with him last night and tonight. Last night I had a hamburger on a roll that was not toasted. It came with American cheese that had been cut in half with a half slice of lettuce. Nothing else on the plate. Dessert was one chocolate chip cookie which I gave to hubs. There were two 6 oz cans of soda both sugar free. Tonight was a salad with chicken. I could not find the chicken. There was supposed to be potato soup. I did not see it nor did hubby. Hubby’s plate was mashed potato with gravy and something like gravy with no meat. Dessert was supposed to be gelatin. It was not present for any of the patients and that also included me as a guest. There was a new patient at hubby’s table and he was famished following dinner. He was so disappointed that he walked away. Needless to say, I will try my best to get to the Farmer’s Market tomorrow and to see if there is something I can make to bring with me. Hubs hands were trembling when I saw him. His shoulder was all bone. I am absolutely livid. I surmise the cook left.

Good Evening that is just so sad how could they do that to patients? my goodness you
pay a small fortune to be in a place like that and not get decent food is just wrong.

I do not like this situation I hope he will be home soon if possible.

How can he have the energy to get up and be active without proper food?

Something similar to this will make him sit up and smile. 💕😎🎈

OZ is cold tonight with some snow on the way. I am fine with that as I have fed all the
animals. 💕

I am getting ready to leave for the day. I will be stopping at the Farmer’s Market. Hopefully, will bring homemade soup and maybe a sandwich which hubs can eat without a problem. Later, I will go to Culver’s for chili and salad. Too cold for their homemade ice custard. Monday I will contact the Health Department. Not sure if they will be following up on the meals at the Rehab. From what I’ve read, they will yes me and do absolutely nothing. But will give it a try anyway. I surmise that the patients never read the menu that is posted for the day. I know in hubs case, being in a wheelchair, he would not be able to see it. Patients who can walk and read will be able to see the menu. A Rehab place where some or most patients have no access to what is going on. I think I will be stepping in to see that changes are made. Hubs dinner looked like “gravy train.” There was nothing chewable on his plate. It was ugly. I tried to go out to get some food last night for him, but the road was closed for miles due to an accident. The road was still closed (it is a State Rd) when I left.

Like you, we are supposed to get 1-2 inches of snow tonight into tomorrow.❄️ I wanted to go to mom’s but that probably won’t happen. My tires aren’t the best in snow so I’ll just stay put and watch football, hockey, golf, etc. with hubs or read a book. Are there any football teams you’re rooting for? This year is so crazy that I keep forgetting who is still playing.🤪

The weather is changing as I type. Awoke this morning and the temp was in the low 60s. It is now in the 40s and will be in the 30s tonight. A short warm up for Saturday and maybe Sunday. I am dressed in layers. Wearing shoes instead of thongs or sandals. Hubs is in bed with sheets, blankets and a Wheels blanket. The rehab is cold.

I am feeling a bit better. There is still some pain, but I am dealing with it. Yesterday was difficult and I now know it was a forecast of things to come. Hubs is good. The car is now in good shape. Tires needed air and the panel is now clear. May shop tomorrow.

Good morning in S. California. Taci it’s a cold one in OZ but we have the Sun. 😎🎈

Our daughter has her ticket to India already so this is a fun and adventure trip for
her she is meeting a group of friends there. Daughter has checked all boxes
for everything she needs. 😎🎈

As a mother of four children I do worry when they travel anywhere. LOL! I check on
everything I can even track them on my Iphone. Oh they do not like that. 😎

Sheba, with four kids you must worry all the time then. We text and our son knows to check in daily. He also drives there. It much much worse driving here though.
Let us know how she likes the trip.
Like Shoelady India isn’t on my my travel list but never say never lol but most likely never. I recall people getting married back in the day going back to buy all things Wedding related and bring it all back. Sometimes it was even a wife lol. Not as easy to do now

Good Evening Ah No I do not worry about our children I just check on them now and then
and they call both hubby and I everyday. I am not a nervous parent or person. Our daughter
is going on a retreat with friends many places are not for many people. This daughter went
to Italy by herself and had the time of her life. 😎💕All my family travels and they go where
they want to go and experience life from different views.

One of my favorite shows was Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown. I love seeing different
cultures and especially the food. 💕

Our daughter is safe and in good hands I have the entire trip looks very interesting. 💕🎈

I hope your son have a wonderful trip. 🎈I know our daughter will have a great trip.

Cold and windy here, high in the teens.🥶 Not much snow but enough to cover everything white. Stayed inside all day.

I feel good except the cough won’t go away. Same thing happened last year. I think we coughed for two months.😷

I’ll be interested to hear what your daughter says about India. That is one country that was never at the top of my lists. A friend of my husband, who recently passed away, built shopping malls there. He was quite wealthy and visited many times.

I had a nice walk this morning it felt refreshing just clearing my head.

Taci our kids are doing fine. One of our daughters already have her ticket
to visit India and she is excited she leaves in a couple of weeks. The other

Still have some stubborn remnants of whatever. SIL dropped off an antibiotic for hubs since he keeps flip flopping.

Waiting on the snow tonight, tired of seeing white.❄️ My yard doesn’t get a lot of sun in the winter so no sooner does all the snow melt and we get another batch.

Did a lot of this and that in the house today. Depending on the weather may do some grocery shopping tomorrow.🛒 I read all about the Chiefs crossing the line in a few years. That should be exciting for Kansas fans. We will have the NFL draft here in April.

I was looking for JM Clean Boss and it was already sold out. 💕😎No worries I have
a nice stash of it. This gets the job one and done.

No shopping today nor did I see hubs. Had to work on a problem with a broken pipe in Ct.. Oil delivery sent the info and I immediately had both water and electrical turned off. Our contractor will be there Friday morning first thing. He will also get our furnace cleaned as well. Thank goodness that the temps will be in our favor for the next few days or more.

I am feeling almost 100%. Just a few aches and pains left that can be handled easily. I will try to get to the Farmer’s Market tomorrow. Thursday afternoon I will be making the Winter Soup. Having a beauty treatment Thursday morning and then will do the soup thing. It will take about two hours from start to finish. This will give me a chance to use the new bowls from Curtis Stone that keeps things warm and also is a plug in. Just wish it came with a plug for our vehicles.

Temp is in the low 60s as I type. Thursday will be cold with some showers. Take care and have a great evening.

I did not see hubs yesterday nor will I see him today. I have been practicing going up and down the entry steps to our home and must have overdone it when taking the garbage out. For the most part the bags were not heavy, but putting them into the new container did give me some aches. Today the aches were more than I wanted to handle and took some meds to relieve them. The weather here is changing from the summer to late fall and I surmise that is what is causing this. Today, the temp never got out of the mid 60s and the night will be in the 50s. I surmise this is what it will be like the rest of the week, though I am being warned that another cool down is expected on Thursday. I also need to get the vehicle into the shop. Lights have lit up on the panel showing that the tires are not good. Hmm…..Funny, they are still at the right poundage each. Thus I will not travel until this is taken care of. If it isn’t one thing, it’s another, as the saying goes.

I purchased a Chef Jet griddle pan over the weekend and just received an alert that the price was reduced. Wow, that made my day. 😃😃😃😃🎹🎵🍾

My neighbor has given me some leg exercises to do while sitting and also while in bed. I need to ‘strengthen the muscles. Next week back to walking and getting the mail without a car. The mail is exactly one mile one way door to door.

PS. Thursday thru Sunday our temps will certainly plummet. W e will have some rain/showers on Thursday that will put us in the mid thirties for temps at night. Daytime temps will have problems getting into the 50s. OH MY !!!! I will make sure that hubs will have his Sherpa blankets ready and waiting.

The sharp pains have finally lifted. No meds since this morning. It was definitely weather and lifting related. Laundry tomorrow and some kitchen cleaning. I will see how the AM goes before making a vehicle appointment. The 4 tires are 6 mos. old, so I think this may be a quirk. But not taking any chances. Have a wonderful evening. By the way, the grey kitty may enjoy a special treat. You can put some inside the house, near the door to give it a try. Leave the door ajar so he can go back to the porch area in case this scares him too much. Try it a few times, It may make him curious though cautious.

Good evening I hope your body is back to normal soon. The weather could play a factor
for sure. Oodie that may go for the tires as well.

Hubby has to keep putting air in our brand new tires we brought this past Summer.
The cold makes the pressure go down there were a ton of cars at many Gas Stations
here getting air put in and then you have to worry about potholes. Oodie you may not
have potholes in your area because of the warmth. 😎

We have a recycle bin and regular trash bin and they are big and high. We have to use
trash bags in bin. I don’t really care for them because you really have to almost go into
the bin to put the bags in I tip it to me and it seems to work.

I would get those tires looked at just to be sure.

A little tea with your Manuka Honey and a good book will do the job.
Glad you are healing I know your husband will be glad to see you when you
can visit. I hope the solid food is still coming. 😎 Rest well.

Sheba, hello. Lucky you to have worked at Macy’s. I love the Store and you may be interested to know my Grandmother worked at Macy in NYC. I have a gold (yes 14ct) charm given to her signed and dated(1963) for her retirement. It’s on my charm bracelet.
My jobs were much less interesting than yours for sure.
Do you miss all the excitement?

You said it was in the 40’s in OZ. Well, it was too hot for me to hike today and I ended up on a treadmill at the gym.

Good Evening hey working at Macy’s was one of favorite jobs because my mom would
let me use her credit card while I was still in High School. I even went back and worked
for the Christmas Holidays and the store is so beautiful and that is in any City there is
a Macy’s. 💕😎

I miss the great discounts even on sale items. 💕 I had an interesting job for sure.

I love the Macy’s that look like the one in New York which is above and that is how
the one we had in my area looked.

I hope it cools off a bit for you. Hey Winter comes back to OZ in a few short days so I am
loving the weather at night it gets a bit cold. 😎

Happy Monday to you. Thanks for the fashions last night, I did watch the show so I saw most of them.

Another chilly day with a little sun.☀️ It will be a back and forth week with snow and temps.

Australian Open starts next week so that will take us right into February for the Olympics.🎾 Hockey team won six in a row and have now lost two in a row. They are so up and down but I didn’t want to jinx them by saying anything. No more worries, LOL!🫣

This cat is doing so well she knows where and who she is. I give her treats twice a day
they are not cheap but she is worth it and I give the other cats treats as well. 💕

I think she knows we rescued her out of that dark garage. We made a little house for her
and it is in the backyard. I know other critters may pay her visit LOL!

I am getting a kick out of the Possum who thinks he is a cat he just walks up on the
porch and eats and the cats let him. Oh well as long as everyone gets along it is fine
with me.
