Happy 36th birthday to the one and only Taylor Swift — singer, songwriter, director, and true history-maker. Across 11 albums and the highest-grossing tour of all time, Taylor has reshaped the music industry in ways no one else ever has.
She is the only artist to win Album of the Year at the Grammys four times, the first entertainer ever named TIME’s Person of the Year, and the only person to occupy the entire Top 10, Top 12, and Top 14 of the Billboard Hot 100. Her influence spans broken records, cultural impact, and global reach — and according to Forbes, she’s become the wealthiest female musician of all time through music and performances alone.
From eras to excellence, Taylor Swift’s legacy is already legendary — and she’s still writing history. 💖🎶✨ -

Chag Sameach! May your Hanukkah be full of blessings and joy. Wishing you peace and happiness this Hanukkah and may the light of the menorah brighten your days and fill you with warmth.
-
Thank you for the Hanukkah greetings. Many years ago, this would have been the day that the entire family would be at our grandparents home to enjoy the aunts playing the grand piano and all of us enjoying the potato pancakes with apple sauce. The youngest cousin/grandchild would help grandpa light the Menorah. Most of the time someone had to pick that child up and hold him as grandpa lighted the candles. Presents were gathered around the fireplace and as we sang the aunts would read the card and hand the gift to each and every youngster. It was tons of fun and a huge joy. The oldest aunt would help grandma prepare a great huge feast following this. The older adults would sit at the dining table while the children sat around several card tables. Even as we grew, there still wasn’t room at the huge table. Back in those days we all made the best of it. Our grandparents are long gone now and the nostalgia creeps in every year at this time. The tables are now turned and I surmise we would all be sitting at the “big” table in the dining room.
Heard the Chiefs are out of the picture and Mahomes suffered a bad injury. However, on the bright side, they kept the loss at 16 to 13. I am sure 2026 will be better. Happy Birthday to Taylor Swift.

Flowers
Song by Miley CyrusWe were good, we were gold
Kinda dream that can’t be sold
We were right ’til we weren’t
Built a home and watched it burn
Mm, I didn’t wanna leave you, I didn’t wanna lie
Started to cry, but then remembered I
I can buy myself flowers
Write my name in the sand
Talk to myself for hours
Say things you don’t understand
I can take myself dancing
And I can hold my own hand
Yeah, I can love me better than you can
Can love me better, I can love me better, baby
Can love me better, I can love me better, baby
Paint my nails cherry red
Match the roses that you left
No remorse, no regret
I forgive every word you said
Ooh, I didn’t wanna leave you, baby, I didn’t wanna fight
Started to cry, but then remembered I
I can buy myself flowers
Write my name in the sand
Talk to myself for hours, yeah
Say things you don’t understand
I can take myself dancing, yeah
I can hold my own hand
Yeah, I can love me better than you can
Can love me better, I can love me better, baby
Can love me better, I can love me better, baby
Can love me better, I can love me better, baby
Can love me better, I- (ooh, I)
I didn’t wanna leave you, I didn’t wanna fight
Started to cry, but then remembered I
I can buy myself flowers (uh-huh)
Write my name in the sand
Talk to myself for hours (yeah)
Say things you don’t understand (you never will)
I can take myself dancing, yeah
I can hold my own hand
Yeah, I can love me better than
Yeah, I can love me better than you can
Can love me better, I can love me better, baby (oh, oh)
Can love me better, I can love me better, baby (than you can)
Can love me better, I can love me better, baby -

NATIONAL VIOLIN DAY
Honoring an instrument also known as the fiddle, National Violin Day on December 13th celebrates the bow stringed instrument loved around the world.
By drawing the bow across the strings, the violinist manipulates the sound in several ways. A violinist uses numerous bowing techniques to master the violin. The strokes dictate not only notes, but the quality of the note played.
While we associate the violin with classical music, it easily crosses genres. For instance, the violinist demonstrates the versatility of the violin by extensive use in baroque music, jazz, folk music, rock and roll, and soft rock.

Her name was Judy-Lynn del Rey. And she became the most powerful editor in science fiction history.
Born in 1943 with achondroplastic dwarfism, Judy-Lynn grew up devouring science fiction in New York City’s public libraries. At a time when the genre was dismissed as pulp fiction for teenage boys, she saw something else entirely: the future of storytelling.
She started at the bottom—an office assistant at Galaxy, the most prestigious science fiction magazine of the 1960s. Within four years, she was managing editor.
Then Ballantine Books came calling.
When she arrived at Ballantine in 1973, science fiction and fantasy were afterthoughts in publishing. Fantasy in particular was considered unsellable—unless you were Tolkien. Judy-Lynn thought that was nonsense.
Her first major move was audacious: she cut ties with one of Ballantine’s bestselling authors, John Norman, whose “Gor” novels were popular but notoriously misogynistic. It was a risk. She didn’t care.
Then came the gamble that changed everything.
In 1976, someone brought her an opportunity: the novelization rights to an upcoming space movie by a young director named George Lucas. Hollywood thought the film would bomb. Studio executives were skeptical. Most publishers passed.
Judy-Lynn said yes.
The Star Wars novelization sold 4.5 million copies before the movie even premiered.
She would later call herself the “Mama of Star Wars.”
In 1977, she launched Del Rey Books—her own imprint, with her husband Lester editing fantasy while she oversaw everything else. Their first original novel was Terry Brooks’s The Sword of Shannara. It became a phenomenon.
She didn’t stop there.
Remember The Princess Bride? The original 1973 novel had flopped. It was headed for obscurity. Judy-Lynn rescued it, reissuing it in 1977 with a striking gate-fold cover and an aggressive marketing campaign. Without her intervention, there might never have been a movie.
She published the Star Trek Log series. She championed Stephen R. Donaldson’s Thomas Covenant trilogy—convincing Ballantine to release all three books on the same day from a completely unknown author. Unprecedented.
She published Anne McCaffrey’s The White Dragon—the first science fiction novel ever to hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list.
And she did all of this while competitors called her imprint “Death-Rey Books”—because she was utterly dominant.
Between 1977 and 1990, Del Rey Books had 65 titles reach bestseller lists. That was more than every other science fiction and fantasy publisher combined.
Arthur C. Clarke called her “the most brilliant editor I ever encountered.”
Philip K. Dick went further: “The greatest editor since Maxwell Perkins”—the legendary editor of Hemingway and Fitzgerald.
But here’s what burns: the science fiction community never nominated her for a Hugo Award while she was alive. Not once. The men who ran the industry praised her in private and overlooked her in public.
In October 1985, Judy-Lynn suffered a brain hemorrhage. She died four months later, at 42.
Only then did the Hugo committee vote to give her the Best Professional Editor award.
Her husband Lester refused to accept it.
He said Judy-Lynn would have objected—that it was given only because she had just died. That it came too late.
He was right.
Judy-Lynn del Rey transformed science fiction from a niche hobby into a cultural force. She made fantasy into a mainstream publishing category. She bet on Star Wars when no one else would. She saved The Princess Bride from oblivion. She published the first #1 New York Times science fiction bestseller.
She did all of this standing 4’1” tall in an industry run by men who underestimated her at every turn.
The next time you pick up a fantasy novel, or watch a Star Wars movie, or quote The Princess Bride—
Now you know who made it possible. -

Good Day Peeps and welcome to the HSN Community. 🎈😎

Really like the idea of the TS. Great for bringing homemade things to hubby. Only thing missing is a plug for the car. It would have been an extra boost for keeping things warm while traveling. I sometimes purchase homemade soup from the Farmer’s Market and this would have enabled me to pour it into the food warmer for the trip to the Rehab which takes over a half hour during the holiday season. I did purchase one. Hopefully, Curtis Stone will add this since so many of us do travel by car or van.

In the dance of life, hope rises like leaves yearning for the sun; effort is the body unafraid to stretch toward the heavens; and prayer is the gentle whisper that gives every branch the courage to bloom again. So be as the tree that dances…your roots surrendered to the earth, yet your soul forever reaching toward the sky.

Good day I am surprised to see you posting at all. I did see your post above at first I did
not as I go at a fast pace when I am posting. I can’t even see what I post until I am finished
and I have to go back and look and that is with every single image. 😎I am glad to see you are up and about I hope you are able to see your husband.
I think if you wrote to Curtis Stone or Customer Service perhaps he can design
something to keep warm in the car I am sure other customers may have that
same need. 🎈Oodie when do you feel the sole worker on your rehab will be done?
I am on the phone with family members and so much is going on in the family.
The Family is having a wonderful brunch for my Aunt my father’s sister this is in
TN. 💕😎🎈I so wish I could be there but due to planning a year ago for medical
reasons I cannot make it best believe I will make it up. I have so many places to
go and I can’t wait.Goodbye Yellow Brick Road🎶🎶That is what Sir Elton John would sing LOL!

Oodie do take it easy today and watch that back. 🎈😎

Funny on the TS. While browsing Amazon, I came across the food warmer and fell in love. Hopefully, the one I bought will be OK.. There were several different sizes and I liked the round for not taking up too much space between the driver and a passenger. However, the reviews were not too good and that is why I say hopefully. Seems some didn’t heat, others came shattered inside and some spoke of holding the lid down to make it work. What I liked was the fact that it had a plug for the car and it came with utensils that were not folded. It was an utensil for one and it would have nice it was for two. Since I usually carry utensils with me when I see hubby, this is a no brainer. We shall see.
The shower install should be completed sometime this afternoon. The shower itself is very small and a regular wheelchair will not do. However, as I got my Amazon Fire out I started talking to myself about a shower wheelchair and if there was such a thing. Alexa heard my question and answered with pictures and prices. There were several that will fit the bill not only for the shower but for access to a toilet. The bottom of the chairs were shaped like the top of the toilet seat making it an easy thing to get to on one’s own. I can hardly wait to show hubs and then have him see the new Alexa. What a treat knowing for the first time in two years I had something by my side. In case of emergency she can readily contact help. In a few weeks, for both of us, I hope. I will post again when I can. Didn’t think I would be able to.
-
The installer just left. He used the subway tile which is very subtle and I am happy with it. The fixtures are in silver and look amazing. I will take a picture for hubs. I am now hoping that the vanity isn’t white. It. Next is the vanity and wall fixtures. I am hoping that the white vanity will be a different color. Too much white in the room is not something I want. The entire floor will need to be durable. Looks like we will need to go down to the bottom to stabilize the subfloor and the tile. This was expected. To say I am tired is an understatement. I had to redo the inside of all cabinets and drawers. These two days put me ahead once again and it looks good. Actually, I rearranged most areas and now have more space. Love my new word, “declutter.”
I still like Clean Boss, but do not enjoy the price points. However, I do use other things as well. I am also having problems with Wolfgang’s stainless steel pots and pans. Too late to return, so making do. Some of them have white spots on the inside. They have only been washed by hand and have no idea why or how to get them out permanently. I did discard one of the smaller ones because of this. I’m sure it is a defect in the material used. Oh well. As the old saying goes, “I will make the best of this situation.” Now to find something to eat. Have a great evening. I will take tomorrow off. Going early to be with hubs for the day.
-
Enjoy your evening with some good rest. 😎🎈Everything will work out.
Have a good visit with your husband tomorrow I am sure he is curious how
things are going with reno.I hope you ate some of the Pizza sounds real good right about now.

Her manuscript was destroyed by war. Her disabled daughter needed care she couldn’t afford. Her husband controlled every penny. At 35, broke and desperate, she had one last chance—so she wrote a book that changed the world.
Her name was Pearl S. Buck, and she would become the first American woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. But first, she had to survive what would break most people.
Born in West Virginia in 1892, Pearl spent just three months in America before her missionary parents carried her to China. She grew up in Zhenjiang on the Yangtze River, speaking Chinese before English, playing with local children with her blonde hair hidden under a hat.
“I did not consider myself a white person in those days,” she later remembered.
She belonged everywhere and nowhere—a feeling that would haunt and define her entire life.
In 1917, she married John Lossing Buck and settled in rural China. Three years later, she gave birth to Carol.
Something was terribly wrong.
Carol couldn’t speak. She had violent tantrums lasting hours. She couldn’t learn basic tasks. Pearl’s husband withdrew completely, leaving her alone with a child whose condition no doctor could explain. Today we know Carol had phenylketonuria—a metabolic disorder causing severe developmental disabilities. In 1920, it was a mystery that felt like a curse.
Her husband controlled every penny of their money, forcing Pearl to beg for an allowance from her own teaching salary. He refused to return to America where Carol might get better care. Pearl realized with crushing clarity: she alone would be responsible for her daughter’s future, and she had no way to provide it.
Then came 1927.
During China’s civil war, the Nanking Incident erupted—a violent uprising that forced Pearl’s family to flee with only the clothes they wore. Soldiers ransacked their home.
In her attic workspace sat the only copy of her first completed novel—years of work destroyed in minutes.
The Red Cross evacuated them to Japan, then to a cramped rental in Shanghai shared with two other families. Her husband returned to work, leaving Pearl alone with the children in poverty.
She was 35. Her marriage was dying. Her daughter needed expensive lifelong care. Her manuscript was ash. She had nothing.
Most people would have surrendered.
Pearl started writing again—not from inspiration, but from desperation. Writing was her only path to financial independence, her only hope for Carol’s future.
She found a trade magazine listing three literary agents and wrote to all three.
Two rejected her immediately: “No American market for stories about China.”
The third, David Lloyd, said yes. He would represent her for 30 years.
In 1929, Pearl took Carol to America to find care. Touring institutions broke her heart—warehouses where disabled children were hidden and forgotten. She finally found the Vineland Training School in New Jersey, a place that seemed humane.
Leaving Carol there was, she said, the hardest thing she ever did.
To afford it, she borrowed money she had no idea how to repay.
Meanwhile, her first novel, East Wind, West Wind, was finally accepted—after 25 rejections. It was the last publisher on her agent’s list. One more rejection and it would have been withdrawn forever.
Pearl returned to China and began writing in a frenzy, driven by financial terror and creative urgency.
Three months later, The Good Earth was finished.
It told the story of Wang Lung, a Chinese farmer, and his wife O-Lan—ordinary people Pearl portrayed as fully human, complex, dignified, worthy of love. In 1930s America, where racism toward Chinese people was rampant, this was revolutionary.
When the Book-of-the-Month Club chose The Good Earth, Pearl received $4,000—enough for years of Carol’s care. She wept. For the first time in her life, she had security.
The book exploded. Nearly 2 million copies sold in the first year. It remained the bestselling novel of both 1931 and 1932. Pearl earned over $100,000 in eighteen months—an astronomical fortune during the Great Depression. She immediately secured $40,000 for Carol’s long-term care.
In 1938, Pearl S. Buck became the first American woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.
But her achievement went deeper than a prize. She had humanized Chinese people to Americans who’d been taught to see them as foreign and lesser. She built bridges across cultures through the simple power of storytelling.
She spent the rest of her life fighting for civil rights, women’s rights, and disability rights. She adopted seven mixed-race children. She wrote over 70 books. She founded Welcome House—the first international interracial adoption agency in America.
Pearl died in 1973 at 80. Carol outlived her mother, dying in 1992 at 72, having spent most of her life safely cared for at Vineland—exactly what Pearl had fought so desperately to ensure.
Pearl’s story teaches us something profound: sometimes our greatest work doesn’t come from comfort or privilege. It comes from necessity. From the determination to survive. From the fierce love that makes us refuse to give up.
She didn’t write The Good Earth because she felt inspired. She wrote it because her daughter needed her, and she had no other way forward.
And that desperation—that pure, undiluted love—produced one of the most important American novels of the 20th century.
Pearl S. Buck proved that when we’re fighting for the people we love, we’re capable of changing the world.

I Say a Little Prayer
Song by Dionne WarwickThe moment I wake up
Before I put on my makeup
I say a little prayer for you
While combing my hair, now
And wondering what dress to wear now
I say a little prayer for you
Forever, forever, you’ll stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever and ever, we never will part
Oh, how I’ll love you
Together, together, that’s how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean a heartbreak for me
I run for the bus, dear
While riding I think of us, dear
I say a little prayer for you
At work, I just take time
And all through my coffee break-time
I say a little prayer for you
Forever, forever, you’ll stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever and ever we never will part
Oh, how I’ll love you
Together, together, that’s how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean a heartbreak for me
I run for the bus, dear
And while riding I think of us, dear
I say a little prayer for you
At work, I just take time
And all through my coffee break-time
I say a little prayer for you
Forever, forever, you’ll stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever and ever we never will part
Oh, how I’ll love you
Together, together, that’s how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean a heartbreak for me
My darling, believe me
For me there is no one
But you, please love me too
I’m in love with you
Answer my prayer
Say you love me too
Won’t just say a little prayer
Please say, please say you love me too
I say a say a say a say a little prayer for you baby
Say a little prayer for you
Say a little prayer for you
Say a little prayer for you
Yes I will (say a little prayer)
Say a little prayer for you
Say a little prayer
Say a little prayer for you
Why don’t you answer my prayer?
Answer my prayer, baby
Won’t you answer my prayer?
Answer my prayer, baby
Why don’t you answer my prayer?
Answer my prayer, baby
Said I say said I say a prayer for you
Say a little prayer for you
Yes I will (say a little prayer for you)

(Theme From) Valley of the Dolls
Song by Dionne WarwickGotta get off, gonna get
Have to get off from this ride
Gotta get hold, gonna get
Need to get hold of my pride
When did I get? Where did I?
How was I caught in this game?
When will I know? Where will I?
How will I think of my name?
When did I stop feeling sure, feeling safe
And start wondering why, wondering why?
Is this a dream? Am I here? Where are you?
What’s in back of the sky? Why do we cry?
Gotta get off, gonna get
Out of this merry-go-round
Gotta get on, gonna get
Need to get on where I’m bound
When did I get? Where did I?
Why am I lost as a lamb?
When will I know? Where will I?
How will I learn who I am?
Is this a dream? Am I here? Where are you?
Tell me
When will I know? How will I know?
When will I know why? -

That’s What Friends Are For
Song by Dionne Warwick ‧… And I never thought I’d feel this way
And as far as I’m concerned
I’m glad I got the chance to say
That I do believe I love you
… And if I should ever go away
Well, then close your eyes
And try to feel the way we do today
And then if you can remember
… Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure
That’s what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I’ll be on your side forever more
That’s what friends are for
… Well, you came and opened me
And now there’s so much more I see
And so, by the way, I thank you
… Whoa, and then for the times when we’re apart
Well, then close your eyes
And know these words are coming from my heart
And then if you can remember, oh
… Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure
That’s what friends are for
In good times, in bad times
I’ll be on your side forever more
Oh, that’s what friends are for
Whoa, oh-oh
… Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure
That’s what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I’ll be on your side forever more
That’s what friends are for
Oh-oh
… Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, that’s for sure
‘Cause I tell you, that’s what friends are for
For good times and the bad times
I’ll be on your side forever more
That’s what friends are for
(That’s what friends are for, yeah)
… On me, for sure
I don’t need for sure
I don’t need for sure
That’s what friends are for
Keep smiling, keep shining -

GINGERBREAD HOUSE DAY
Gingerbread House Day on December 12th recognizes a family tradition for many around the country.
A favorite food of an Armenian monk, Gregory of Nicopolis, brought gingerbread to Europe around 992 AD and taught French Christians to bake it. Since gingerbread was often used in religious ceremonies, monks baked to be sturdy to molded into images of saints.
We can thank the Brothers’ Grimm for a gingerbread house, though. Through their tale of Hansel and Gretel, they introduce an evil witch who lives in a house made of gingerbread. It didn’t take long for the German gingerbread guilds to pick up the idea. Soon, they put gingerbread houses to a more festive use making snowy cottages made from the spicy-sweet treat.
Today, we can spend the day baking, cutting, and building to our heart’s delight. Kits take some steps out of the process so we can get right down to constructing our winter wonderlands.

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😎🎈I hope and pray everything goes well
with this major reno of your home.
Enjoy the day and I know your husband is a very happy man. 🎈😎I know you will
be a very happy woman once he is home. 💕 -
Looks like a one man process. So glad to be rid of the tub and shower. I had no choice, but to pull an all nighter to make sure everything was in it’s place for today. It turned out not to be necessary. No one showed this morning. He was here around noon. Not sure if I will see hubs. Very tired and back is out.
-
Update: The contractor just left and will return tomorrow morning. He has a long drive to home, over an hour. I ordered two large pizzas and they just arrived and the contractor already left. The pizza is from me and hubs. Since he has a plumber’s license, he was able to redo the pipes. I am dogged tired. But need to finish the drawers in the kitchen. I used Clean Boss and what a difference. I’m going to work in the kitchen for a couple of hours then will call it a night. Sweet dreams to you three.
-
Good Evening Oodie I would just dropped in the bed and call it a night.
Things are moving a bit fast if you ask me. YAY! 😎🎈I would love to see
the look on your husband’s face. I know he will love just being home.Rest dear friend for tomorrow is another day. 🎈😎Oodie you are getting there.

I am making sure the animals are all fed as it will be a cold night.
Saturday we will only be in the low 20’s. Sheesh and we are still in Fall. 😎
Oodie I cannot clean with my Clean Boss. 💕Goodnight Oodie I do hope you are pleased with the work being done.

Did a quick holiday lunch with a friend today. Glad we don’t have any holiday parties this weekend. Hubs tried the snowblower this morning to see if it would start, all’s good (hopefully)!👍
Hockey team in a slump. They have five games this week so hope they can win one. Hubs and his friend go on Tuesday night. Going to check out TS on TV tonight.🎶🍷

Times of Your Life
Song by Paul AnkaGood morning, yesterday
You wake up and time has slipped away
And suddenly it’s hard to find
The memories you left behind
Remember, do you remember?
The laughter and the tears
The shadows of misty yesteryears
The good times and the bad you’ve seen
And all the others in between
Remember, do you remember
The times of your life? (Do you remember?)
Reach out for the joy and the sorrow
Put them away in your mind
The memories are time that you borrow
To spend when you get to tomorrow
Here comes the setting sun (comes the setting sun)
The seasons are passing one by one
So gather moments while you may
Collect the dreams you dream today
Remember, will you remember
The times of your life?
Gather moments while you may
Collect the dreams you dream today
Remember, will you remember
The times of your life?
Of your life
Of your life
Do you remember, baby
Do you remember the times of your life?
Do you remember, baby
Do you remember the times of your life? -

Margo Channing is a Star of the Theater. She made her first stage appearance, at the age of four, in Midsummer Night’s Dream. She played a fairy and entered – quite unexpectedly – stark naked. She has been a Star ever since. Margo is a great Star. A true star. She never was or will be anything less or anything else.
I have to say Addison DeWitt is my favorite character in this movie. Love All About Eve. ♥

“Girls Just Want To Have Fun” Cyndi Lauper
I come home in the morning light
My mother says when you gonna live your life right
Oh mother dear we’re not the fortunate ones
And girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have funThe phone rings in the middle of the night
My father yells what you gonna do with your life
Oh daddy dear you know you’re still number one
But girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to haveThat’s all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Girls – they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have funSome boys take a beautiful girl
And hide her away from the rest of the world
I want to be the one to walk in the sun
Oh girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to haveThat’s all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Girls – they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun,
They want to have fun,
They want to have fun… -

“Time After Time” Cyndi Lauper
Lying in my bed, I hear the clock tick and think of you
Caught up in circles, confusion is nothing new
Flashback, warm nights almost left behind
Suitcases of memories, time after…Sometimes you picture me, I’m walking too far ahead
You’re calling to me, I can’t hear what you’ve said
Then you say, “Go slow”, I fall behind
The second hand unwindsIf you’re lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I’ll be waiting
Time after timeIf you’re lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I’ll be waiting
Time after timeAfter my picture fades and darkness has turned to gray
Watching through windows, you’re wondering if I’m OK
Secrets stolen from deep inside
The drum beats out of timeIf you’re lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I’ll be waiting
Time after timeYou said, “Go slow”, I fall behind
The second hand unwindsIf you’re lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I’ll be waiting
Time after timeIf you’re lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I’ll be waiting

National App Day on December 11th encourages us to explore all the possibilities apps afford us.
The word “App” was listed as the word of the year in 2010 by the American Dialect Society.
Short for Software Application, apps quickly appeared when our mobile devices incorporated smart technologies. As the power of our phones increased with processing chips, internet connectivity, and touchscreens, so did the apps that became available.
Since that time, apps continue changing how we work, live, and play. They offer opportunities, too, by creating thousands of new companies, millions of new jobs, and billions of dollars in revenue.
Apps accelerated in growth with the advent of Apple’s iPhone in 2007. In 2008, Apple introduced OS 2.0, which included approximately 500 apps and allowed third-party app generation. Over 3 million apps on both the Apple and Android platforms offer a plethora of options for business, productivity, entertainment, organization, security, news, and so much more. And every, programmers introduce thousands more.
Not only do apps keep us connected and organized, but through customization, apps fit our busy and changing lifestyles.

They said the arm angle was too weird.
They said the system wouldn’t translate.
They said a kid from Texas Tech couldn’t run this league.
Now that same kid walks out of the tunnel with the weight of a franchise on his shoulders and makes it look like *fun*. He turned doubt into fuel, pressure into legacy, and a small-town dream into the standard every quarterback is chasing.
This isn’t just a superstar in pads…
It’s living proof that when you refuse to listen to the limits people put on you, you can change a city, change the record books, and change the game forever.
Forever grateful we get to say:
**He’s ours. This is Chiefs Kingdom.** ❤️💛🏈 -

HE’S JUST A FOOTBALL PLAYER.”
That was the line Sunny Hostin let slip live on The View, as the table laughed about Patrick Mahomes making a rare daytime TV appearance after years of staying away from talk shows.
“He’s just a short-haired guy running around the field, throwing a ball, yelling plays and scrambling like every other player, that’s all,” Sunny added with a playful shrug. Joy nodded in agreement, Whoopi smirked, and Alyssa clapped lightly.Mahomes didn’t laugh.
He didn’t smile.
He didn’t say a word.
Instead, he slowly removed the small metal cross he always wore around his neck — a quiet symbol he kept for someone important — and placed it gently on the table.
The faint tap of metal against wood sliced through the last bits of fading laughter like the crack of a helmet echoing through an empty stadium tunnel.
Then Mahomes lifted his head, set both hands flat on the table, and looked straight into Sunny’s eyes.
And he spoke exactly seven words, soft but heavy enough to crush the room:
“I was at your friend’s memorial.”
The studio froze.
Sunny went completely still — mouth slightly open, eyes wide, words gone.
The camera lingered on her face for what felt like an eternity — eleven full seconds of silence that stretched across all 28 seasons of The View.
Joy immediately looked down.
Whoopi covered her mouth.
Ana Navarro’s gaze dropped to the floor as if hoping it would open and swallow her whole.
No one in the audience knew the name he was referring to.
But everyone at that table did.
It was the same friend Sunny once spoke about through tears on the show — the friend who spent her final months battling illness, the friend who found joy and comfort watching Patrick Mahomes lead the Kansas City Chiefs, even from a hospital bed.
What the public never knew — what Sunny herself never mentioned — is that Patrick Mahomes, the quiet, private superstar the media often paints as distant or “too serious for Hollywood,” had slipped into the hospital late one night, long after visiting hours, just to pay his respects.
He didn’t bring cameras.
He didn’t alert the press.
He didn’t post about it.
He simply stood beside the photo of a woman he had never met, placed a small cross like the one now sitting on the table, and whispered a short prayer on her behalf — because someone told him she loved watching him play.
Mahomes said nothing else on The View that day.
He just looked at Sunny for a moment longer, then offered a faint, heartbreakingly gentle smile — the kind of smile only a man who has seen human pain up close and chosen compassion every time could give.
The clip has now surpassed 600 million views in under 48 hours.
Not because Mahomes “shut down” a TV host.
Not because of drama.
Not because of celebrity gossip.
It went viral because, in those seven quiet words, the world suddenly remembered something it had forgotten:
The man they once dismissed as “just a football player” was, in truth, something much deeper —
a grounded soul who carried empathy, grief, and humanity far more honestly than anyone sitting at that table ever realized.
And after that day, no one dared call Patrick Mahomes “just” anything again.

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😎🎈Oodie I read your post from last night.
Oh my you do have a lot going on.I am glad you got to see your husband and he looked good. 💕
Oodie we have had a death in the family and I am trying to calm some family
members down if I seem a bit out of it that is what is going on.
This is a cherished family member and their memory is a blessing.
This relative lived in GA.I am just trying to keep busy. 😎

Good luck with everything. 🎈Let me know how things go for you today.

So sorry to hear of your loss, especially during the holidays.
I did make a stop at the Farmer’s Market last weekend. The parking lot was jammed, but I managed to find a parking spot not far from their entrance. Inside there were people mulling about and things to try. They now have an orage juice machine and they were giving out free bottles. There were also demonstrations and some finger food to enjoy. I love this time of year and often wish that people would carry this on throughout the year.
Hubby had just finished dinner when I arrived this afternoon just after 5pm. He was in excellent spirits and was still hungry. He asked for seconds. He left the carrots. I tried one of the carrots. It was cold. I showed him pictures of some of the items I purchased and then we spoke about the vanity. I told him that yesterday I actually brought my desk chair into the bathroom and put it near the vanity. Then I pretended I was handicapped and needed something in the bottom drawer. It wasn’t easy. A couple of tries made me feel that I could easily fall off the chair. I then spent an hour looking at vanities in both Lowes and Home Depot and also from other remodelers. There were quite a few that could be used and they were better than the one the owner had chosen. I sent him an email this afternoon and hopefully he will make a change. No change, no payment. End of story.
Have a great evening. Try to stay warm It was 61 when I left the rehab. It is now in the upper 50s. I do not know what the weekend will be like. Suffice to say Monday another cool down. Oh well, winter is coming sooner. Just wish the children here could see snow. They have no idea what it is like. (LOL). Maybe that’s a good thing. Good night. Sleep well.
-
I forgot to mention that with the contractor due to be here tomorrow (Friday), I will probably not be posting for a few days. I have no idea what he will end up doing with the two hallway closets, if anything. I will keep you and everyone posted on the renovation. I think he said it will just be the shower tomorrow.
Again, my heart goes out to you and your family on your loss. There is never the right time or place to say goodbye. I guess we all expect the person to stand up and dust themselves off and start all over again. I surmise it is wishful thinking in all of us.
-
Good Morning in S. California. 🎈😎 Taci I do remember you getting the Jewelry Box. 🎈

This is life. Happy Holidays. 🎈

Sending loving hugs to you and Jake. 💕😎

God bless your family member, so hard when it is around the holidays.🙏 May warm memories bring you comfort.
Made it to mom’s appointment. She can take the brace off to shower, use the bathroom, watch TV, but keep it on for sleeping and moving around. It is still a little swollen and slightly black and blue but better. She goes back in a month and they will probably ditch the brace and put on an elastic support sleeve. She can sit down and stand up by herself but still very unsteady. Can’t write yet and still needs help cutting food. I know this is taking a lot longer than she expected.☹️
Crazy game yesterday but at least they got one point with the tie.🏒 On to the next one…
Try to have a calm evening, sending loving hugs to you, Poppy and the family.🤗💖
-
