Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 25 out of the
series. I created and started this thread 10 years ago.

I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

      NATIONAL START OVER DAY

      Today is June 5 on the National Day Calendar and it’s National Start Over Day to remind you it’s perfectly fine to start over! Today’s National Day is about making the decision to accept failure and start over, from scratch.

      Do you remember that old saying “if at first you don’t succeed, then try, try again?” All of us seem to have heard it one time or another in our life. We can all agree it has been used to inspire us to never give up and keep trying. Today, we want to remind everyone despite any setbacks you may have, don’t give up! Keep going, even if that means starting over.

      What is failure? In a nut shell, failure is when a person does not succeed or has not met expectations of a specific situation, goal, or task. Failure means different things to different people, which is why our ideas about failure differ. Even though society plays a significant roll in what we think should be success, the idea of failure comes from our own personal beliefs.

      Adults view failure differently than children do, but the end result is always the same: failure is discouraging.

      NATIONAL KETCHUP DAY
      June 5 is National Ketchup Day on the National Day Calendar and we are celebrating the most popular condiment in the U.S. Let’s dip right into the origins and history of this food condiment day and see why this red sauce is a staple on our tables across the nation.

      Ketchup comes from the Chinese word kΓͺ-tsiap that dates back to 300 BC in China. KΓͺ-tsiap was a sauce made from fermented fish, consisting of anchovies or oysters, mushrooms, and walnuts. The sauce became very popular with the British during the 17th century when British sailors came across a local fish sauce while in Southeast Asia. In fact, British sailors were known to add the fish sauce to their crackers and meats.

      The sauce was such a novelty for British sailors, it was bottled and brought onboard ships to add flavor to their crackers and meats. Once the sailors reached England, they tried to replicate the recipe, adopting the word catsup in the process.

      In 1812, American scientist named James Mease documented the first tomato-based ketchup recipe. His documentation marked the first official ketchup recipe that contained tomatoes, sugar, spices, and vinegar. The same base recipe we know and love today.

      Interesting Tomato Facts

      Before 1812, tomatoes were once considered poisonous because of their classification with the nightshade family or Solanaceae. Plants under the nightshade family tend to contain high doses of harmful toxins. However, it was later discovered tomatoes lack these toxins and edible.
      Ketchup was originally used for medicinal purposes before the 19th century. In fact, many people used tomatoes to treat indigestion and diarrhea.
      The Great Ketchup Controversy was a real controversy about proper ingredients to make ketchup. Some people thought a sweeter ketchup should be acceptable, while others thought a spicer one was would be better.
      Nearly 97 percent of Americans have ketchup in their homes. In fact, ketchup is so popular Astronauts use ketchup as a condiment in space.
      The word ketchup became popular during the 19th century and has been the standard name of the condiment since. However, some areas in the southern part of the U.S. still use the word catsup.

      Contemporary tomato ketchup became wildly popular around 1876, when H.J. Heinz introduced his version of the ketchup recipe with a thick consistency and sweet flavor. Heinz spent many hours experimenting with the perfect ketchup recipe. Eventually, he found a way to produce ketchup using quality ingredients like sugar and vinegar to help provide a longer shelf life for consumers. The recipe used in 1876 is the same standard recipe we love and enjoy today.

      NATIONAL GINGERBREAD DAY | June 5

      ‘Tis the season to celebrate National Gingerbread Day. While that may sound strange for June 5, gingerbread lovers across the country celebrate by sampling their favorite recipes and gingerbread treats. Whether in the form of bread, cakes, bars, biscuits, or cookies, gingerbread is delicious any time of year.

      Gingerbread is a sweet food that typically uses honey or molasses rather than just sugar and is flavored with ginger. The term “gingerbread” originally referred to preserved ginger, later referring to a confection made up of honey and spices. Gingerbread foods range from a soft, moist loaf cake to something closer to a ginger biscuit.

      It is believed that gingerbread was first brought to Europe in 992 by an Armenian monk. He lived there for seven years teaching gingerbread cooking to the French priests and Christians until his death in 999.

      Sources indicate that in 1444, Swedish nuns were baking gingerbread to ease indigestion.

      In the 17th century, gingerbread biscuits were sold in monasteries, pharmacies and town square farmers markets. During the 18th century, gingerbread became widely available.

      Ginger can be traced back to the 11th century when monks experimented with spices, where ginger was used to make a molded cake.
      Gingerbread during Medieval was served as a sweetmeat at the end of a meal to help with digestion of food.
      It is said Queen Elizabeth I (September 7, 1533 – March 24, 1603) served her guests miniature gingerbread versions of themselves.
      Gingerbread houses seemed to have originated in Germany during the late 16th century and became popular in Europe during the 17th century.

      I missed your post from yesterday I was going too fast and my head was really hurting.
      I had a Video Chat with my Physician of twenty years and I have a sinus infection I sort of
      knew that so I went and picked up some antibiotics she prescribed.

      I know in a few days I will be much better. I know how you feel when you say you have sinus
      issues it’s no joke. My pain is in the T-Zone.

      I hope you are enjoying your gardening and I am so glad you had rain. We had a brief but
      good thunderstorm last night everything smells fresh and new. πŸ’•

      How are you doing today? I hope KP is almost done. Yeah I know how that feels too.
      Some days I move too fast I need to slow it down a bit.

      surgery if possible.

      I hope you are feeling better. I think my issue is more weather than anything else. About an hour before the rain hit a few days ago (it feels like years), I started with a ground zero headache that soon blossomed into a huge migraine. Took my sinus pills and one for the headache and fell asleep. Awakened to a telephone ringing off the hook and looked at the clock. You never saw someone move so fast to get on the road. It was way after 5 pm and I needed to make a few stops before rehab. I got there just as the receptionist was leaving (this was at 6:30 pm and she is supposed to stay until 7 pm.). Rain chance today is 55% around 3 pm.

      I am hoping xango gets some good news today. I’m not sure if her body can stand another procedure so soon. I also wonder if it’s needed. Only xango can answer that one. I hope she has help with a Home Health Aid and a Visiting Nurse. She and her hubby have been through so much. I also wonder if this has something to do with the accident in the supermarket. Well, hopefully, we will have an answer sometime today or later.

      this morning while it was nice and cool. I had to fight a Racoon last night with my headache
      and all. The Racoon is larger than Poppy so it is concerning I don’t want it to fight the cats
      for food. I keep a good watch on all the cats and if they leave bits of food I don’t care if
      the Racoon eats it. I do leave fresh water out for all the animals.

      I was in my backyard and low and behold there was a bunny. πŸ’•πŸŽˆ

      I am battling a sinus infection and I am on meds. Sigh…

      Sheba, Spring brings all the blooms and i guess sinus issues, allergies and congestion are the price we pay. With all the rain from Winter, I did think Spring would be hard for allergies. Hope you get some relief.
      Racoons are smart and I don’t know how you can keep one or more away when you have food for the cats. Sounds difficult. Nice you saw a bunny. My hubs still leaves little veggies for a bunny, but I have no idea who eats it unless we track it with our security cameras. One night, we had a single rat on our front door mat. My hubs thought it might be resting.

      It is not cool here but will be better, mid 80’s last couple of days and humid. A few storms this evening and overnight and should be in the 70’s after that.🌧

      Still have the cough, I hope it’s not whooping cough.😩 Lost part of my voice yesterday but today it is a little better. I see the PCP next week so will give it until then. Sure hope your sinus medicine kicks in and you can breathe in some fresh air without pain.😀

      NATIONAL COGNAC DAY
      Each year on June 4, brandy lovers and distillers celebrate National Cognac Day. A well-known variety of brandy, Cognac was named after Cognac, France, where it is produced. The region is also known for vineyards and producing wine.

      A distilled brandy must meet certain legal requirements within the production to bear the name Cognac. In fact, one requirement during production includes the use of a particular variety of grape called Ugni Blanc. Additionally, the brandy needs to be distilled twice in copper pot stills where the brandy must age the brandy at least two years in French oak barrels from Limousin or Troncais. However, most distillers age their cognacs much longer than the minimum legal requirement.

      Producers create close to 200 cognacs to choose from. According to one 2008 estimate, more than 90% of cognac for the U.S. market comes from only four producers.

      There are also different ways of drinking cognac. Some people love to enjoy the spirit on its own and savore it neat or over ice. Others even dilute it with a little water. However, cognac is also be used to create a variety of cocktails, too. The next time you order a Manhattan, ask for them to use cognac and see the flavor rise to a new level.

      Cognac-Based Liqueur

      Grand Marnier – made from cognac and distilled essence of bitter orange.
      Pineau des Charentes – a sweet aperitif, composed of eau-de-vie and grape must.
      Domaine De Canton – cognac-based ginger liqueur.
      Dutch brandy (Vieux) – Dutch imitation cognac, usually containing some cognac.

      Moooove over whiners! June 4th is National Cheese Day! An encyclopedia of cheese will cover the alphabet and broaden your vocabulary. It will undoubtedly contain more varieties of cheese than what’s found at the local grocer.

      Cheese is produced from the pressed curds of milk. The milk can come from cows, buffalo, goats, or sheep. Temperature and aging affect the flavor and texture of the cheese, as well as spices and other seasonings added during the process.

      The opportunity to go to a cheese tasting or visit a cheesemonger who is knowledgeable about pairings will improve your enjoyment of the cheese you choose. Does Stilton melt?       When National Hug Your Cat Day rolls around each year on June 4, the purr-fect opportunity presents itself for some snuggle time. Depending on your feline critter’s nature, hugging may not be in the cards. However, like most animals, touch is a vital part of communication – and the same goes for the claw-ful kind.

      I just arrived home. I know it’s after 11 pm, but got engrossed with a TV program and watched with him. He seems to be doing better and is moving around more, though either in a wheelchair or bed. At least now he can straighten that left leg out without pain. He wears a brace on that leg from time to time and it seems to be helping him.

      Well, tomorrow another appointment and I hope and pray that things are beginning to come together. If you are beginning to feel better, that is a real good sign. Last week’s appointment was just a few hours after being discharged from the hospital. Being home helps to heal the wounds faster.

      We had some welcome rain yesterday afternoon. You should be getting something tomorrow. Looks like next week may be better for rain chances. I sure hope so. Because of the drought we can only water from our lake area twice per week. Watering the lawn is out of the question. I am using the nose just to water a few plants (five to be exact). Two are the new Dipladenias which most people know are Mandevillas. I found planters for them and will be potting them in a day or so.

      Please take care of yourself. Take it easy and if outside, just be out for a few minutes. Most of all, try to stay hydrated. Again, good thoughts for tomorrow. Also, thanks for your post.

      Getting ready to make a stop at Aldi’s. Promised hubby ice cream.

      I have been eating salads the last few days. Not in the mood for anything else due to the heat and humidity along with the migraines from the sinuses. Our rain chances are up again for sometime late afternoon. I have yet to open the front door or a window.

      Hubby was in good spirits last night. His mind says he is walking, but the legs go every which way.
      Yet, he has made progress. That left leg is beginning to turn around. Could two orthopedists be wrong???? I'[m now going to take a 15 minute break. Please take care of yourself. Those sinus headaches are a bummer.

      Sheba, Happy planting. My little plants are doing well. The tomatoes are growing well with little green tomatoes. Hubs grabbed some Cilantro for his dinner; it’s a very small plant but growing too. Any idea how to avoid those pesky hornworms? None yet, but trying to avoid them, The Sweet basil needs some love, and the Hydranga is still alive and has blooms (small plants). Let me know how your garden is doing.
      We hear a heat wave is coming but it’s still cool outside.
      Did house chores today and cleaned my closet. It’s my idea of fun.

      Green tomatoes are good also. My grandma and my mom used to pickle them. Seems you are becoming a real gardener. No way that I know of to rid the plants of those hornworms. However, seeing them means that the next crop should be safe from harm. Something in the soil does kill them and their eggs. But don’t hold me to it. I read it in one of my plant books.

      You are ahead of me on the closets. I’m still doing KP. Finally, though, I can say things are looking up. Once the kitchen is done, on to the master bedroom, two closets, bedside tables and dresser beckon. Oops and then the TV stand with all the DVDs which need to be cleaned. Never ending jobs ahead.

      Heard you will have a heat wave next week. Just don’t overdo your walks. At one time HSN sold those hand held mist fans that worked wonders. Unfortunately, mine are at the Cape house. Who knew we would have a Pandemic and then other things.

    Planetary alignment is an astronomical term used to describe the event when several planets gather closely on one side of the Sun at the same time.

    Planetary parade is a colloquial term that means, in the broadest sense, that several planets are present in the sky in one night.

    The next planetary alignment will take place on June 3, 2024. In the early morning, six planets β€” Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, , and Neptune β€” will align in the sky. Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn may be spotted with the naked eye, but you’ll need a telescope or high-powered binoculars to see Neptune and . Let’s take a closer look at the conditions for observing the planets.

    Yellowish Saturn (mag 1.1) will be in the sky from late night on. It will be visible with the naked eye in the constellation Aquarius. Neptune (mag 7.9) will be located in the nearby constellation Pisces, but you’ll need high-powered binoculars to spot it.

    A little later, Mars (mag 1.0) will rise. You can distinguish the planet by its reddish tint. The planet will also be located in the constellation Pisces and will be visible to the naked eye.

    Then, at dawn, (mag 5.8), Jupiter (mag -2.0), and Mercury (mag -1.4) will appear on the eastern horizon. Jupiter will be bright enough to see with the naked eye, and with a little luck, you’ll be able to see Mercury without optics, too.       I know the planets are aligned. but it is very cloudy on the Gulf Coast. I am sure there is a moon somewhere. Surprise, Surprise, we had some rain today and it felt so good. Guess now I can say “June is bustin out all over.” I’ve been humming that song since Saturday.

      Today started out beautiful. A smattering of clouds, nothing ominous. Sometime after 12 pm, the larger clouds started to roll in and my back started to give me a problem along with a slight headache. I just knew then that there was a good chance for something wet. Around 1 pm I started to get ready to make a few stops. Left around 1:30 and the rain started. Nothing major. Just a light rain that the plants would enjoy. First stop was Sam’s club for gas. They were one cent cheaper than Costco. Then it was on to the #1.25 Tree which now has items up to $5 or $6. Then on to Lowes to see if they had Teal planters. And they did. Guess tomorrow I will do some planting. These are for the dipladenia plants Need to return to Sam’s for soil. I thought I would stop at Costco, but the car had other plans. It put me in an aisle for left turns only. Will venture that way tomorrow.

      The salads at the Farmer’s Market are made fresh, though you do need to watch the dates on some things. There are no preservatives and no sulfites., though I am leery of ham and bacon, but sometimes will take a chance. I just won’t eat a whole lot. I have found that the Amish food are mostly with natural ingredients. It’s one of t he few places that I don’t have to read the labels unless I’m purchasing a brand name item. I found that I cannot tolerate Heinz Ketchup. First ingredient is corn starch. This is a sulfite along with corn syrup and cinnamon. Apples and peaches are not sulfites, but the skin is loaded with chemicals to keep the bugs away. So, in a sense they are. This is why I steam them. The bug sprays goes not only on the skins, but right to the fruit.

      Oodie be careful with certain foods that affect you. I love Amish Food and we have a market
      here they come all the way from St. James, MO. I think they make the best home made pies
      ever. I buy other dishes from them I wish we had more of the Amish coming to sale their
      Goods. πŸ’• We don’t have the kind of Markets you have on the Gulf Coast.

      Happy planting I still a few more I need to finish. Well I am going to drink some water
      jump in the tub and call it a night.

      This reminds me of a place you and hubby may have been. I love the Orient. 😎

      NATIONAL ROCKY ROAD DAY

      National Rocky Road Day on June 2 celebrates the combination of chocolate ice cream, marshmallows, and nuts all in one! Whether you like Rocky Road ice cream in a bowl, on a cone, or straight out of the container, we know this delicious food holiday is going to be a big celebration.

      Although Rocky Road comes in many variations, traditionally, the ice cream includes chocolate ice cream, nuts, and marshmallows. Today, there are variations with vanilla ice cream, chocolate chips, and almonds.

      People have been enjoying this delicious combination for many years. There are varying accounts of the origin of this ice cream, as there often is with the creation of something new. Sometime during the late 1920s, William Dreyer used inspiration from his partner Joseph Edy’s chocolate candy to make rocky road ice cream. Dryer did something he was probably told a hundred times not to do. He used his wife’s sewing scissors to chop up marshmallows and walnuts and added them to chocolate ice cream. Of course, it tasted good, so he was probably forgiven for using her good sewing shears for anything but fabric!

      Another who laid claim to the creation of rocky road ice cream was George Farren. He had simply blended a candy bar into chocolate ice cream creating the creamy dessert.

      The last day of my birthday weekend. It’s was a lovely birthday, I don’t usually make any kind of fuss or tell people. But this time, I was telling everybody and anybody 😁😁😁.
      I was supposed to be a July baby, but mom fell and was in labor a several hours. I was born two months earlier at home in the middle of the Brazilian Autumn and rainy season. Maybe that’s why I love to sleep when it’s raining and storming outside.

      There is a 51% chance of rain later this afternoon. I am not holding my breath. Though the clouds are thickening, things may not work out for the droplets.

      Yesterday, I stopped at the Farmer’s Market and brought a couple of items for dinner that were all salads. They had roasted an entire chicken and one of the family members were cutting it up for us to sample. It was absolutely delicious. So good in fact, I wanted the recipe. They will put it on line at a later date. I did pick up one that was already cut up and brought it home. It’s in the freezer.; I hope to return sometime during the week for veggies and fruit, though I did purchase the first of the season cherries and they are sweet. Amazing. Bananas were next on the list and I bought four. I also picked up a couple of cream cheese that were homemade. One was with blueberries (yum) and hubby’s favorite, roasted peppers. I have crackers to go with.

      Hubby was in a wheelchair when I arrived. His feet were resting on the bed and he looked comfy. However, the color in his face was awful. He mentioned he was fine. I’m not so sure. By the time I left around 9 pm his demeanor had changed to good/better. Maybe he just needed to get into bed. He is moving around more. He says he is coming home this week. Not so fast. He still needs to be able to stand on one leg and to be able to get in and out of bed on his own. I thought the therapy was daily, but is not. It’s at least twice per week. I then recalled that the last time he had therapy from the orthopedic group was at least once per week, but not more than two days at 45 minutes each time. This will be a slow process. Hopefully, the insurance will cover it. Time will tell.

      It’s time for me to shower and dress so I can drive to the rehab with a stop for gas. Hope you three have a great day and stay safe. Hope the kitties enjoy their meal and then some.

      Types of Bubbly
      Different areas of the world create their own special brand of bubbly according to strict methods and select grapes. Each differing grape produces a sparkling wine unique to each region.

      Cava is produced in the rolling hills of Spain and fills a glass with bright citrus and fruit notes. Protected in Spain, this bubbly must meet stringent requirements to earn the name Cava. Using only the “traditional methods,” Cava requires a second fermentation in each bottle produced.
      Champagne is the most common form of bubbly people know. To earn the name, this bubbly wine must be made in the Champagne region of France. In addition, certain kinds of grapes are used with a specific method before bottling. When celebrating with Champagne, enjoy the crisp flavors of apple or a nutty, sweet finish.

      On June 1st we celebrate National Nail Polish Day in hopes this celebration primes you with every shade under the sun. It’s time to show off your toes and enjoy the summertime!

      From the French manicure to elaborate nail art, nail polish has come a long way since the bees’ wax and gum Arabic used by the Chinese around 3,000 B.C. Egyptians in high societies used reddish brown henna to paint their nails. Through the years, nail polish has gone through several transformations. Around the nineteenth century, people began polishing their nails with tinted powders and pastes. They also buffed their fingernails to make them shiny.

      Who invented nail polish? Northam Warren invented nail polish in 1911. As a known chemist, Warren first developed a liquid to remove dead cuticles without having to cut or scrape them. By 1916, he his invention led to the creation of a colorless nail polish.

      In 1920 a makeup artist by the name of Michelle Menard developed brush-on varnishes that had the same properties as automobile paint. The improvements of Menard’s formula were especially popular with flappers throughout the 1920s who would paint their nails with the varnish. By 1932, Menard began her own cosmetic company, selling nail polish in a variety of colors. The company sold this new and improved type of nail polish at drugstores and department stores throughout the country. Since then, millions of women have painted their nails on a regular basis.

      Not So Secret Facts

      Why do people polish their nails? People polish their nails because it makes their hands look more attractive. Painting your nails also protects them for breakage. Others paint their nails to enjoy the relaxation that accompanies getting their nails done. With so many colors to choose from, nail polish is also a marvelous way to accessorize or accentuate an outfit.

      Do nail polish colors signify different events? Some people choose to wear a certain color of nail polish to match the season or their mood.       What are some unconventional uses for nail polish? Like most products, there are some unconventional uses for nail polish.       Crime is everywhere no matter how small or big it is everywhere.

      Very annoying I am very careful when I go out but I will not let little minds and just
      plain bad people stop me from living my life to the fullest.

      Sheba, I was a big GH fan back in the early 80’s. I realized I was too into it when I was following the Luke and Laura wedding while away at School. Stopped watching all Soap. My Grandfather continues to watch As The World Turns after his wife passed. They watched it together for over 20 years.
      Can’t imagine having to take public transportation to a job and worry about being killed. LA needs to fix it,

      NATIONAL MACAROON DAY | MAY 31

      Each year on May 31st, National Macaroon Day celebrates the small coconut cookie that is full of flavor and variety, too. Do not mistake these with the delicate sandwich cookies called macarons. No, these small, but substantial cookies hold their own despite the sometimes mistaken identity. For coconut lovers, this day summons up a little bit of bliss.

      The Italians receive credit for creating these sweet morsels sometime around the 8th or 9th century. The recipes later traveled to France. However, in other parts of the world, the once flourless cookie served its purpose during religious observances.

      Eventually, the cookie made its way to the United States, where the coconut macaroon takes only a few ingredients to make. Shredded coconut serves as the main ingredient. Usually sweetened, the coconut may also be toasted. Other ingredients include flour, sugar or sweetened condensed milk, and egg whites and flavoring. Once the ingredients are combined, the mixture is dropped by spoonfuls onto baking sheets and baked. Most varieties of coconut macaroons are dipped in milk chocolate, dark chocolate or white chocolate. Almonds, pecans, cashews, or other nuts are sometimes added to the cookie.

      This cookie is easy to make, even a beginner can succeed with the simple recipe.

Though you feel old, remember you are “younger than springtime.” As you heal, one day you will wake up feeling not only better, but spryer and you will be able to tackle all the things you did before only better.       Hi and good afternoon. I adore the bun bun. Miss velveteen rabbit and I hope where ever she is, she is smiling. I also remember her saying that she was in a lot of pain in her back and I hope and pray that it was nothing serious.

      I fell asleep again at the computer. It was before midnight and when I awoke it was shortly before 6 am.. I was able to add a few more things to the recycle and it is still waiting at the curb. Watered the plants and then did laundry. I am about to check the dryer to fold and sort. Hopefully, within an hour on to the Farmer’s Market and then a fill up for the car and on to see hubby.

      Hubby was able to straighten out the bad leg last night. Best of all, no pain. He is now able to sleep on his side. This, for me, is a huge milestone. He is saying “he will walk, but don’t expect me to run.” I am taking a different route to see him because the other is closed for repairs. So instead of a 15 minute drive, I now have a half hour. This will continue for another week or more.
      I am still trying to bring the keyboard and stand. However, not sure how it will do in the hot sun, so until I am able to drive direct will leave it home.

      I see more storms are on the horizon for you and ours will start next week. The weather people are watching the tropic and there is something brewing in the Caribbean. Not sure at this time if it will fizzle or become something ominous. Not sure what is off the coast of Africa. Looking for the flashlights and battery operated lights as I use the keyboard. Thus far, nothing worrisome.

      Furnace and A/C are in! Yesterday installers were here from 8:00-6:00 and got it all done in one day. That’s a big load off my mind. Getting warmer next week so the A/C will be tested.

      Recognized each year on May 30th, National Water A Flower Day recognizes the season of caring for our garden plants.

      LOOMIS DAY | May 30

      Each year on May 30th, Loomis Day recognizes the man who received the patent for wireless telegraphy in 1872. The Washington, D.C. dentist, Mahlon Loomis, received US patent number 129,971titled β€œAn Improvement in Telegraphing” on wireless telegraphy in July of 1872 beating Guglielmo Marconi’s United Kingdom patent by nearly 25 years.

      Born on July 21, 1826, Loomis was also the inventor of artificial teeth and one of the earliest inventors of wireless communication. Loomis died on October 13, 1886.

      Leading up to his patent, Loomis conducted many experiments in electricity using kites flying miles apart in the mountains of Virginia. Then in 1868 before several scientists and Congressmen, he demonstrated his wireless telegraphic system. While he couldn’t explain how he was able to produce the transmission, he appealed to Congress for an appropriation to incorporate the Loomis Aerial Telegraph Company for research. Senator Charles Sumner introduced the bill, and on May 30, 1872, the Committee on Commerce reported poorly on the measure. Stripped of its appropriations, it eventually passed in 1873 strictly as a bill of incorporation.

      Oz is cloudy but warm and we know what is coming later on this evening. I am fine with
      it.

      Oodie I hope the KP will soon be over. I am using a lot of my Clean Boss and you are
      right it works on a lot of things. The smell does not bother me as I open the windows
      and mother nature takes the scent right out. I hate germs so this product is great. I wipe
      down my entire kitchen and all three bathrooms with it. I also do the Patio table and furniture
      outdoors. 😎

      I hope your husband’s PT is going well I hope I am right that he is getting stronger. 🎈

      I know how much you like Seashells maybe a trip to the beach in the near future will work

      about Tornado Alley.

      Which states is Tornado Alley?

      While there is no official designation, the area known as Tornado Alley is generally designated as between Texas and South Dakota. AccuWeather identified the area as northern Texas northward through Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri and parts of Louisiana, Iowa, Nebraska and eastern Colorado.

      Taci you are right we are prepared our friends had their power restored yesterday they were
      without power for five days and had to throw out certain foods.

      We have storms that can wreck havoc in our area that is what I worry about the most.
      The winds can be very strong and take out power lines, trees and anything in it’s path.

      We make sure all the cell phones are fully charged my husband is a Mr. Peabody he can
      fix and come up with neat ideas on how to stay safe.

      Sheba, If people are a bit prepared then it makes things easier to live in Tornado Alley. I might be too old to try it. I did live in WI for HS and the area had Tornadoes and sirens for the Farmers.
      I recall the term Lake affect and we lived near it so they rarely touched down. I remember all the info Cindy once posted about her relatives in TX and it was tragic. Probably heading to AZ at some point but still don’t want to up and leave my son. If he gets a promotion or new job and it’s in AZ then we are outta here.
      Hiked today inland a bit, and it was about 80, too hot but good to get it done,

      Good evening I talk about my Tudor House all the time. I have a full remodel basement
      that looks better than some people’s apartment just saying in case we have to be down
      there a bit it’s our family room. This large finished space has TV, Computer, Radio and all
      things comfortable. I have never lived in Oz without a basement or Central Air those are the
      two things I must have. 😎

      It’s not so bad all the time tonight we are in the 60’s with rain on the way. I say bring it.
      Hubby did the yards when he got home from work. πŸ’•πŸ˜˜πŸ˜Ž

      I want to go to a different place too later down the pike and I am looking very closely at
      Colorado due to the fact I have many blood relatives. πŸ’•

      Hey I hope your son do get a promotion. 🎈 Don’t over do the hiking I hope it cools down
      a bit there in S. California. πŸ’•I am still thinking about the young actor who was killed.
