Went to the meeting and, well, both of us could have stayed home. Since July I have been after the rehab to have hubby’s eyes examined. He actually needs this in order to have his driver’s license updated or an ID issued. He will not be able to vote unless this is accomplished. Just a few minutes ago I answered a phone call to update this appointment. I surmise this will finally happen. Oh, one thing that came up was that hubby is not supposed to get into bed himself without help. Hmm……If the nurse’s do not answer the buzzer and he is freezing, as long as I am there, why not???? Of course the bed is lowered to about 9″ off the floor. Being cold is an issue.

I also took him to the dining room yesterday for dinner. He had a choice of food which included chicken nuggets, tuna sandwich, macaroni & cheese, or a hamburger. The roll wasn’t toasted though the h elp claimed it was. The hamburg was ice cold, though they say it just came off the grill. I happened to take a smidgen. It was iced cold and extremely fatty. No wonder he turned it down. I will be reporting the meal. I also noticed that all the diners did not eat their meal. That’s quite a bit of food that was discarded. Maybe the help should start asking why????? So glad I was there for the meal. He was starving and ate the snacks I had put away. He wouldn’t let me leave him to go & bring something back. Funny, when I go to the Farmer’s Market, I usually purchase soup for the both of us. I sometimes forget to order it before checking out. But, either way, that soup is still piping hot by the time I arrive at the rehab, sign in and go to hubby’s room or wherever he is hiding. It’s a 45 minute jaunt for the drive to rehab.
There is always bumper to bumper traffic and the unyielding traffic lights. Well, he will not go to bed hungry tonight.

Have a great Wednesday. Temp when I got up was in the mid 50s. The sun is out so it will be in the mid 80s during the day. Hope you three have a great afternoon and evening.

Just returned home. I did make a stop at the Farmer’s Market. I was able to get clam chowder, cubed watermelon and honeydew, Parfait of yogurt with fresh fruit (strawberries and blueberries), a small container of fresh fruit, veggie salad, chicken salad on a croissant (for me), container of pickle spears, strawberries, pluots, macaroni salad, chicken salad, small apple crumb cake (hubby devoured it), bagels (real water bagels, delicious), potato chips, chocolate cake, brownies, pumpernickel bread, ham chunks (all homemade by the Amish). Hubby had a picnic. The pie is gone. Took the rest home for the fridge and will bring it again tomorrow. He was so happy. Will be going to bed with a full stomach.

Hope you are beginning to feel better. Nothing like hot soup to help the chills vanish. I actually know what you are going through. Landing is my problem. Get severe ear aches and that is the number 2 reason for not flying. Number 1 is that I am afraid of heights and no amount of clouds will dissipate that feeling. Best of all, being able to sleep in your own bed and not have to go anywhere—-priceless. Hope you all feel better soon. I did miss your posts while you were gallivanting.

Energy 101

Energy cannot be destroyed, but it can be changed and transformed.

There is an undercurrent of energy thrumming through the Universe. Like the wind or a whisper, we can sometimes hear it and often feel it. Most of the time, we sense this energy unconsciously without any tangible proof it is really there. Thoughts, emotions, and the life force in all living things are forms of this kind of energy. So are creativity, growth, and change. The impressions, images, and vague premonitions we get about people and situations are other examples of formless energy. When you enter a space and feel an “intangible tension” in the air that gives you a sense of foreboding in your gut, what you are likely experiencing is energy.

Energy cannot be destroyed, but it can be transformed or transferred from one person, thing, or source to another. Though energy is formless, it does take form and shape in the way it flows and resides within all things: a grain of sand, a bird, a stone, and an ocean wave. Living things radiate complex vibrations while nonliving things’ vibrations are simpler. Energy is a magnifier that can attract like energies while repelling disparate ones. Many of our reactions to people and circumstances are based on unconscious reactions to their energies. We may even intuitively tune into the energy of a situation we are facing when making a decision about how to proceed. With careful practice and meditation, we can learn to sense the energy within other living things and ourselves. We can also become more attuned to how we are impacted by different kinds of energy. For instance, being around too many energies can leave one person feeling edgy or excited, while another person will feel tired and drained.

While some people feel that energy can be controlled, others see it as the unknowable force that moves through all things. The combined energy in all things plays a hand in birth, death, growth, movement, and stillness. Practitioners of Aikido believe that all living beings share a common energy source that is our life force. Whatever your beliefs, it is worthwhile to explore the roles energy plays in your life so you can understand it more fully.

Vacation was fun and we are back but all of us are sick. We think it is the plane ride, some component of it. (Happened on the way to Italy as well). Hubs and I have been in bed for 4 days straight. The good news; we can barely eat, so we lost any weight gained on vacation! Always a positive side right? We were in Italy and Portugal. We feel like we don’t want to fly again at this point.
Thought about your neighbor who had an accident in Greece after reading an article about over tourism and how they plan to limit the number of people visiting the Acropolis to 20k a day. Woa! That’s alot.
There was an older couple sitting next to me at the airport from Kansas. They were planning to do the last 100 miles of the Camino de Santiago. So cool. I cried when I passed them in 1st class- haha, I wanted to share their seats. There were quite a few doing the trail too.

Just got back from getting my hair cut.✂ I guess mom and sis are fine, I haven’t talked to them since Saturday. No news is good news.😕 Probably will go visit on Friday.

A ribeye sounds great, my favorite steak.🥩 I’m making sliders from my leftover chicken with BBQ sauce. Your yard sounds like mine, leaves all over one side from neighbor’s trees.🍂🍁 Nothing we can do about it except hire someone else to do it.🤔

Good evening OZ is beautiful tonight and the leaves are crispy under my boots.
I have been out with Poppy they are still falling and this will take a while. No worries
we have a nice blower and I can bag real quick my long legs can go a long way when
getting those leaves up. I make fun with the leaves and it’s not so bad.

Everything Is Relative

Fully experiencing our own hurt is the gateway to compassion toward other human beings.

Every day we hear stories of personal suffering and loss that far exceed our own. When we compare our situations to those of people living in war-torn countries or those who have lost their homes and livelihoods to natural disasters, it is tempting to minimize our own experiences of suffering. We may feel that we don’t have a right to be upset about the breakup of a relationship, for example, because at least we have food to eat and a roof over our heads.

While awareness of the pain of others in the world can be a valuable way to keep our own struggles in perspective, it is not a legitimate reason to disregard our own pain. Disparaging your feelings as being less important than other people’s emotions leads to denial and repression. Over time, an unwillingness to experience your own feelings leads to numbness. It is as if our internal systems become clogged with our unexpressed emotions. This in no way helps other people who are suffering in the world. In fact, it may do just the opposite because when we devalue our own sorrow, we become impervious to the sorrow in others.

Fully experiencing our own hurt is the gateway to compassion toward other human beings. Feelings of loss, abandonment, loneliness, and fear are universal, and, in that sense, all feelings are created equal. Regardless of what leads us to feel the way we do, our comprehension of what it means to be human is deepened by our own experiences. Our personal lives provide us with the material we need to become fully conscious. If we reject our emotions because we think our experiences are not dramatic or important enough, we are missing out on our own humanity. We honor and value the human condition when we fully inhabit our bodies so we can experience and feel life fully. Accepting our emotions and allowing ourselves to feel them connects us to all human beings. Then, when we hear the stories of other people’s suffering, our hearts can resonate with understanding and compassion — for all of us. AMEN! 😉😎

I had to cancel the trip to the furniture store today. So disgusted. Anyway, the outside of the house looks amazing. It was powered washed. The painter/artist will be here Thursday to do the trim and the shutters. From brown to peacock neck blue with a taste of teal. Hopefully, it will not be too dark. However, if the sun is just right, it should be sparkly with the two tones shining through.

While visiting hubby I saw a couple of cockroaches. I told the nurses and will also give the info to the head nurse/unit manager. I know they have someone to do the spraying. Just not sure if they come every month or when called. Our home has someone here every three months. Funny, I had a bug spray with me. It did nothing. I will bring the big guns with me tonight just in case.

Contacted the plumber. They will be here next Monday. I will then see if we have enough room in the MBath to have a walk-in shower. I think it may help hubby to get in and out without lifting the legs over the sliding door thing. I may also have someone install a hand rail for safety. I’m getting there. It’s a slow process, but it’s beginning to smell like home.

The beginning of my note went poofed before I finished. Go figure. Anyway, I did see hubby yesterday. I forgot to bring Kindle and my new jacket. Remembered as I was on the road to
Rehab and didn’t want to turn back. As I was signing into the guest book, hubby was being wheeled from the dining room to his room. He was really excited to see me. He ate everything at dinner and I was a happy person. We talked for about an hour and a half and then he started to doze off. While he slept I grabbed some noshes and laid them on his tray since he was still in the wheelchair. The TV was on to the Discovery Channel and they were in a veterinary clinic. Hubby awoke and his first question was when is the veterinarian going to be here. I had to ask it two or three times because I thought I heard it wrong. Anyway, had to explain that we do not have a pet yet, so he/’she wouldn’t be here. Oh, and he fell back to sleep. So funny. He awoke about 15 minutes later to grab a bite from the table with no recollection of the vet. I left a little after 9 pm.

Hubby is very itchy. Today I will bring the Sharp with me along with something to spray on the mattress and it’s cover. The last time I looked there were tiny white spots on the mattress cover which I took off. I met with the head nurse again and he said I can do whatever and if it works he will purchase and tell the people to use it in all rooms. I had a similar problem here with the dust mites. I used a regular vacuum on the mattress and threw the mattress cover into a plastic bag and left it outside in full sun for the entire day. After vacuuming I then sprayed the mattress with a chemical that went after the bugs and a week later did the process all over again. I haven’t had a problem since (knock on wood). I also mentioned that while doing the process, hubby should shower from head to toe. After toweling they can apply the prescription for the itches. He should be itch free in two or three days. Though the spray also kills the eggs, I like the two step process to be sure. And, actually, the vacuuming does this as well. Evidently, the housekeeping staff does things superficially because they have many rooms to go through each and every day.

Tonight I will pick up a couple of grinders from a pizza place that is three miles from Rehab. I’m sure hubby may not be hungry for his, so this is just in case.

Well, back to what needs to be done and will leave for the rehab around 4::30 pm. I leave when hubby is falling asleep for the night. Hopefully, he will be home next month.

Hubby loved the jacket. He said it was very well made. Thought removing the hood was a good idea. He is still itchy and because he spent the day in bed his knee is very swollen and painful. Neither of us were hungry so we didn’t order out. I may have a hotdog when I get home. I did bring the shark and bug killer. Since hubby is in bed will take care of things tomorrow. It is almost 9 pm. Will be leaving shortly.

Yay!! Although a little too close for my liking but a win.👍 I do enjoy those early games because I’m not in the middle of three things yet. Hockey game was fine but they were playing the worst team in the league so they weren’t as good as the score said. Tougher teams coming up, should have saved some goals for those games.😕

Hi. The sniffles is almost gone and what is left is a sinus issue. Cough still lingers and what I have been using is really helpful. Hubby, couldn’t believe his eyes when I popped in yesterday. We are now working towards the return home and his eyes proved I am right on. We made a decision last night that in all probability he will be home sometime following the surgery. He will most likely return to rehab to be sure that there are no repercussions and everything is working as it should. If there are any problems he will be in good hands. Then, again, this could all change with a return to some normalcy following the surgery and removal of the catheter. His dementia seems to be fading.

I happened to be in Costco when they had new towels on sale. I purchased the purple (my favorite color) and later on the turquoise and beige. Now I will have sunset and beach themes.
I just finished spending two hours cleaning the washer and dryer. Have the first load working now. I threw out all the other towels. I decided to start fresh. The varmints are now gone. And my feeling is that they were coming up through the duct work and into the vents. I am using Clean Boss and everything is starting to come together, though, it is a slow process. Tonight I will open the kitchen window and let the fresh air come through. No need for the A/C at this point. Loving the cooler temps, though it is doing some havoc on our outdoor plants. Sometime next week the power washer will be here and then the painter for changing our brown trim to a peacock neck color with a touch of teal. Hopefully, this will enhance the color scheme of our neighbors. Just wish there were more hours of the day to help me finish.

I will get you started in Trivia today, however I will not be able to attend. I will be meeting with the head nurse and his associate tonight to prepare for the Rehab meeting Tuesday afternoon. This is an update sort of thing and to help hubby when he is able to return home. I will have a visiting nurse two or three times per week and a home health aide to help out when the time comes. The Rehab will be putting things in order for me. Not sure if they will need to be at our home to assess what I need to do prior. Hopefully, everything will fall into place.

I don’t recall if I mentioned that after much hemming and hawing I ordered Iman’s TS in black. Not the day of the TS, but the next day. I had two choices: One was white and the other black. Since the white was a sellout, I was able to purchase the 2nd choice and it arrived yesterday. I did place a review today (Saturday). It is absolutely gorgeous and to be able to wear it either with the fur out or in is a plus. Florida does get cold also. Our 40 temps is equivalent to your 30s and so if I’m in New England or on the Gulf Coast it will be perfect. Best of all there is enough room for two layers of heavy duty sweaters and sweats. Just had to give you a shout out on this one. I may bring it with me later to show hubby.

Oh what a day this has been. The person who does some landscaping came by and trimmed the bushes in the front. He cannot wait to pull them out. Me also. I am debating just using pots in the front and fill them with flowers. However, this could change overnight to something that is planted and easier to take care of. Something to think about until after the first of next year.

Then I was on the phone with a furniture store that had a few sofas and loveseats that intrigued me. The one thing I didn’t notice the last time were the arms of both. The arms of the loveseat were kind of big and bold and I didn’t realize this until it was in my den. It was overpowering. In a sense I can thank the critters for helping me make a change. Yes, I did find a loveseat on line and the lines of the arms sort of make a half circle. I was mesmerized by the simplicity of the furniture and will make some time to go to the store tomorrow to check it out. I need to be sure that it will be easy for hubby to get in and out of as well as hitting our back comfortably. This store also has a dining room set that will tie our kitchen and counter together. Plus there are chairs for the bar seating area. I must remember to take measurements of the dining area and the counter so I can be sure it will be a good fit. All the wall pieces in all rooms are now down and in one location. I will be dusting and washing the walls. I am debating about having the walls repainted. No, I will find someone to do that task. I was not good at coloring or drawing a straight line. Why say I can when I can’t. I am more excited now than when hubby and I visited and chose new furniture just prior to taking ill.

Hi in Oz. Nice sunny day here and a little warmer.🌞 We seem to have more than normal raccoons this year. My husband trapped three so far.🦝 I’ve also seen a lot killed on the roads. They tear up our grass looking for grubs.

We will be able to have our morning coffee☕ while watching the game on Sunday. The NFL must get paid a lot to go so far for one game.🏈 I will be checking them out since I couldn’t see the last game. Hockey team out on the west coast so all games will be late. I guess I’ll get an extra hour watching them lose.🤣

The Doge story begins in 2005 when a puppy by the name of Kabosu was born in a puppy mill. When the mill closed down, Kabosu, along with her siblings, were put up for adoption. It’s Never Too Late

Nothing can fill the emptiness that remains in a space vacated by a passion that we have tossed aside.

There are times in life when we are committed to pursuing our passions. Every molecule in our body is focused on doing what we love. At other times, necessity and responsibility dictate that we put our dreams aside and do what needs to be done. It is during these moments that we may choose to forget what it is that we love to do. There are many other reasons for why we may leave our passions behind. A hobby may lose its appeal once we’ve realized it will never turn into our dream job. Someone important to us may keep telling us that our passions are childish and unsuitable — until we finally believe them.

Forgetting about what you love to do can be a form of self-sabotage. If you can forget about your dreams, then you never have to risk failure. But just because we’ve decided to ignore our passions doesn’t mean they no longer exist. Nothing can fill the emptiness that remains in a space vacated by a passion that we have tossed aside. Besides, life is too short to stop doing what you love, and it is never too late to rediscover your favorite things. If you gave up playing an instrument, painting, drawing, spending time in nature, or any other activity or interest that you once loved to do, now may be the time to take up that passion again. If you don’t remember what it is that you used to be passionate about, you may want to think about the activities or interests that you used to love or the dreams that you always wished you could pursue.

You don’t have to neglect your responsibilities to pursue your passions, and you don’t have to neglect your commitments to do what you love. When you make an effort to incorporate your interests into your life, the fire within you ignites. You feel excited, inspired, and fed by the flames that are sparked by living your life with passion for what you love. AMEN! 😎🎈
