Hi and thank you for the suggestions. I am laughing right now because I have been looking at the lift that goes around the toilet. There are some that sit on the floor and others that are attached to the seat or something you attach. The house also has bars in one bathroom. However, hubby will not be able to use it since I enjoy the tub at times. The other shower does have a step where the glass doors sit. I have been thinking of a bar in that one, but in doing so may have to make the entry into the shower a bit smaller in order to grab it as you go in. The other thing I was thinking of doing is making it more of a walk in shower without the glass door. It’s something I am toying with because of the configuration. I also may be able to enlarge the bathroom somewhat and that is another possibility. I am also trying to decide whether a ramp would be necessary for entry into our home. If a ramp is necessary, then could it be turned into stairs leading to the front door if hubby is again able to walk and be able to climb the new 3″ steps. It will take two days to do those changes (outdoor stairs/ramp).

Glad you are beginning to feel better. I think hubby will be happy when you return to the kitchen baking bread and putting dishes into the freezer once again. I hope he enjoys his new position at the VA. At least he can avoid the traffic when he works from home. Hope I can go shopping in Brandon before heading North. I really need a fix at the Oriental Market.

Oodie it’s been a long time and needs to come home. I know you are bringing good eats
for him and you enjoy the season. “Hanukkah sameach!” 😎💕😉

Thinking of you guess what Poppy and I are back to normal. I have to put on coats
to feed the cats outdoors they are happy to see me. My favorite is one who is black and I
have taken care of him going on three years. I made sure our son gave him plenty of food.
We are trying to build a winter home that he can feel safe in during the cold winter nights.

I call him Kitty Kitty and he knows his name. 💕

Hubby is Ok, well sort of. He has no pain, but refuses to drink water. I didn’t make it to Costco as originally planned, but will do so today. A physician from the hospital dropped in last night to check on hubby. Hubby was quite pale and the doctor noticed and asked about liquids. He said he wasn’t thirsty, so he gave h im an ultimatum. Don’t drink water, you will need an intravenous. Not sure that raised any eyebrows. I think the nurses let him know that it was like pulling teeth. Might because he is wearing pullups since he cannot walk to the bathroom. Whatever the reason I am on it.

I ordered a pizza and meatball grinder last night. The place I order from is about 3 miles from the rehab and the food is delicious. Less costly than the one from the Bronx area in NY and tastier. Hubby loved the grinder. We used to compare the grinders in Florida to the ones we ordered on lunch break in Ct.. This one beats th em 101% and hubby agreed. There hasn’t been one takeout or delivered that we didn’t like. Best of all you can order on line and have it delivered by a certain time.

Oodie. glad your husband is doing better. Maybe the water doesn’t taste right to him. Possibly some soup, smoothies or water with something like AL Efficient C, or some fruit, or Lemon and honey will add some flavor?

Just returned home from Rehab. Hubby ate his entire dinner and the plate was licked clean. He has increased his water intake and looked better, though his knee was giving him some pain. The pain will subside if he is able to sit in the wheelchair. I asked him if he had a shower since the surgery the answer was an emphatic NO. He did get a complete rub down and the bed was completely cleaned afterward. The nurse used a formula of detergent and a disinfectant for the mattress, She also let the mattress sit in disinfectant for a good half hour before rinsing and did the process all over again. one side at a time. She said they will do it again in the morning and evening tomorrow. She asked that I bring the shark wand with me. This is something that should have been taken care of prior to the surgery. I felt sorry for hubby while this was being done. He was in bed the entire time. Linens were also changed. He started to fall asleep and that’s when I decided to leave.

I definitely will need to work on the Physical Therapy. I am hoping that can start next week.

Well, the one chair I was hoping to salvage will not happen. It will be tossed over the weekend. Just too many ifs to keep it. I will be contacting a handy person to help me get it outside along with that person helping me to empty some cabinets that were in our den to make sure that they are OK. That also includes lamps and pictures. I am thinking twice about keeping our original mattress and boxspring when the new one arrives next week. I want everything to be spic and span when hubby arrives. His immune system leaves a lot to be desired. I will not be taking any chances.

I made sure the cats had some good food and they are taking shelter.

I did do some yard work today it was one and done. 😎

Getting ready to jump into the shower. The news will have to watch me tonight. LOL!

I hope your husband is getting plenty of fluids. I had a doctor tell me if I did not eat during my pregnant stages
they were going to feed me in the arm. I think all of a sudden I started eating just a little. Tell hubby drink fluids.

No, I do not believe you have shown the above HD’s on this thread. I purchased the Duchess in the rose color on HSN and also love the one in green on her website. The rose one is almost the color of a garnet and is magnificent. I received it the other day along with the poodle and scottie. I’ve been wearing a great deal of HD when I visit hubby and you should hear the comments. Her artistry is exquisite. I wish you would visit HSN more often, but, getting the time in may be the big question. She is one busy lady and I know how that feels having our own business on weekends and being an employee elsewhere during the week. You have to love what you do to make it succeed. And you can tell HD does just that. Her personality touches everyone along with her jewelry which is so very precious.

My family told me I have lost weight I never gain weight even with four pregnancy I never
gained more than ten pounds with each child. I cannot eat when pregnant food just makes
me sick. The way I walk and work around the house and yards I do burn anything I eat off.

Sheba, It’s just nice to be outside. We had a quick downpour last night and I felt some light rain on my hike. It was over quickly. Speaking of my Mother, I lost a pin that was on my pack that was a gift from her. I looked for it yesterday and today, retracing my steps without finding it. Someone else must have found it. Hardly anyone goes to this location so I thought for sure I would find it. Stuff happens and I have lots of other pieces from her.

Sheba, not wanting to eat is not something I have experienced much. I like food too much. Maybe you have some food allergies or sensitivities? Or a fast metabolism from all that yard work and walking. A long time friend recently told me that she doesn’t like to eat and doesn’t take in enough calories to lose weight as her body is holding onto it. Problems in either direction are hard. BTW, I gained the pregnancy weight for you and way more than 10 lbs.

We always go out for dinner either Christmas eve or Christmas day, that’s what I’m working on today. All depends on the weather. Last year, Christmas eve was snowy and very cold, don’t want mom to get sick.

I wrote you a nice note and it went poof. So I will be brief for now. I am so glad
you are feeling better. 😘

I did miss Poppy and I have brought animals with me on previous trips. My family
at every house had at least two large dogs and it went have been chaos with Poppy
in the mix. Poppy has not let me out of his sight. LOL! Hubby and our entire family have
made this trip for years. The way back home was a stormy day and I am thankful Poppy
was not with us because we had to go through several States no stopping.

I promise our next trip will be during better weather we know we would run into something
during this time of year. No worries the moon guided us home. 😉😘😎

I am still happy that you had the opportunity and pleasure to be with your mom for Thanksgiving.
Yesterday 11/28 marked 23 years that I came home from work, I had worked late that day. I found the house all dark and knew something was wrong. My mom had a stroke, it was a Tuesday also. She stayed ten days in the hospital and passed away on 12/8th. December 8th was my brother’s birthday, the brother I lost in 1996 of Lung cancer here in the USA.

We had some low temperatures last night and this morning, 41 degree.
I had three blankets on the bed. Hubby got up at 3AM saying he was cold, and turned on the heat to 71 😆.
After tonight the temperatures are suppose to get warmer back into the high 70’s in the coming days.

Xango, my condolences on the loss of your Mother and Brother. It must be hard for you at this time of year.
My next door neighbor passed at 99 years old, he was a nice man and used to check on other older neighbors. His neighbor on the other side had a stroke and he noticed something off and broke into her house and called 911. He had some awesome instincts.

I think of my dad who has only been gone three years and not a day go by that I don’t
think of him. 💕😘

I can’t wait to go back to Colorado and there are many places with family so there is
always places to go and things to see. I want to go to the ski lodge in the mountains.

Xango I want you to focus on healing after your fall. I had a bad fall too and it scared our
kids to death. I had to fight my way to get well. I am very strong willed but I had to learn
to walk with a ankle broken in three place and dislocated. I had surgery stat and plates
were put on both sides of my angle. I have never felt such pain. I was in a wheelchair and
on crunches for three months. Plus I was in a cast what fun. I had to sit on my assets to get
up and down the stairs. Long story but I did heal complete and fully. Xango you will get
there.

Thank you for your prayers and well wishes for me to get to my mom and entire family. 💕😘

Great to hear from you. Hubby is doing good. Not great. He needs to down more liquid and that’s like pulling teeth as that statement goes. I am the one that keeps hydrated. I have a feeling that he feels his somewhat enlarged prostate may cause some problems but that’s not the case. He should be able to void without any ramifications. He has another doctor’s appointment next weekk to check on his post op. .I have to admit that these physicians knew what they were saying and doing. I am so thankful. Monday was a day. I was more nervous than he was that’s for sure. Doing a jigsaw puzzle on Kindle kept me from pacing the floor in the waiting room. I was able to watch when the surgery began and was told when he was on the way to the recovery room. I was shocked to see he would be returning to the rehab rather than staying overnight at the hospital. The pre op area was clean and bright. Of course the whole area was brand new. I hope and pray that this and the other areas in the hospital stay this way forever and a day. One reason I went elsewhere was because of cleanliness. So thankful.

Now I hope you are doing better. Have you stopped to look outdoors for the guests that would drop by for a morsel of food???? When you start feeding them, then I know you are feeling better and getting out more.

Well, I just noticed the time. I need to shower and dress and make a stop at Costco for bottled water. Seems I am about to run out. I also try to get to the Rehab before 5pm. Lately I’ve been there about 5:45pm and stay until 9pm. Rehab lets you be there all day and all night without saying a word. But hubby’s bed is a twin. LOL.

Hi, so good to know your hubby is back from surgery and recovering. It may take sometime to get back to his normal routine.
Perhaps you may want to get some grab bars in the shower, I know from experience it helped me alot. And I use them everyday to get into and out of the shower.
What also helped me is the Bemis Assurance 3″ Raised Toilet Seat with Clean Shield & Support Arms, Elongated, White I got from Amazon.
It’s high enough to sit comfortably, it has arms on both sides to hold on to sit and get up from. It’s easy to install, or you can have someone install for you.

I can visualize what you went through on the return. About two weeks prior to heading North or South I start checking the weather using the highways that lead to HOME. We have the 95 corridor for most of the trip as a second choice. Our first choice are the mountains and though all highway can fluctuate between hot and cold on any given day. For some reason, the states of GA., SC and NC are not familiar with heavy snow and that makes any Interstate for us almost impossible. I also use tripe A for alternative routes not only because of weather but because of construction. I do not like sitting in one place for hours on end. The last time this happened I blasted the radio and decided to exercise to the music. This time even Triple A could not have foreseen. There was a motocycle accident on I-95 North in SC.. Sad to say the motorcyclist was killed on impact and the police had to wait for the coroner and also to get eyewitness accounts. We were in line for over 4 hours. Made a stop at Shoneys before going on to our stop in Virginia. That time hubby was driving. This time it will be me.

Guess Poppy is keeping his eye on you. Think again about leaving him behind???????LOL. You may have to put him somewhere but I bet as small as he is, he will be able to stand up to his cousins as big as they are. Of course, if there are any leftovers that landed on the floor, it will be anyone’s guess as to who will see it first….I will put my bet on Poppy.

Think I will shower and then on to Costco. I didn’t realize I was almost out of bottled water. So, no more excuses. I shall go and look around. I did purchase the sherpa blanket for hubby and his roommate. So glat I did. I heard they sold out. Both men are happy. They cannot complain about being ice cold. No excuse this time. I also heard how easy they are to wash on cold and to dry on low. I will find out over the weekend. I was a nervous wreck on Monday. Thankfully, he is doing OK, but needs to down liquids more. As soon as he is able to walk and stand a bit, he will be returning home. We will need to start from scratch on the furniture. Lost all the new. I have one piece for our bedroom which may be questionable. I will have the people who worked under our home help with that decision.

Thankfully, you had a full moon and though the return was long, the best news was that you returned safely. That is difficult even on good days but with a wintry mix even more so. I knew you were having some problems. I just felt it. I know Christmas and New Years may be up in the air, but, if you are thinking about being with mom for those holidays, I would start watching the weather through all the STates you go through and also the alternative routes. It may be possible. Also, if it’s possible, be prepared to leave early in case the weather on the return changes in any way. February, in New England, is usually the snowiest month and also the beginning to the middle of March. Glad you are home. Need I say more????

Good evening I know it’s late and you are exhausted oh yes the moon guided me
safely home and I was nice and warm and safe spending time with my mother and family.
We had 35 for dinner at my brother’s house. I have not been around my family like that since
Covid. Oodie I have taken trips for decades to Colorado with our kids and pets. 😉

I just had not been since the Covid situation and the breast cancer. We go at least twice
a year mostly warmer months this time of year anything goes. Oodie one year we were on
pure Ice and we had kids in the car along with one of my sister we saw cars in ditches.
God has been good to me because I always make it back home. I can’t wait to go again
I think I will wait for warmer weather and we do track way before we set foot out the door.

There is so much life in Colorado even when it’s cold. Family is getting ready for ski season
they have a rack of skis in their mud room. I love being in the mountain in a lodge.

I was a wee bit under the weather due to the high elevation in Colorado this always happen
when we go there everyone was a little out of it and then it wears off. A visit to Colorado
requires you to drink plenty of water. All was well once we all had lots of water.

Sheba, Sounds like you finally got home to Colorado and had a great time! Do you Ski? I grew up Skiing but never liked heights so I stopped going, plus it became so costly. For me, I didn’t like it enough for the cost, if that makes sense.
I know what you mean about the elevation and needing a lot of water. It gets so dry too. I’m sure you know the drill after years of traveling.
We aren’t sick anymore. I hiked early today and plan to do so again tomorrow (since it gets dark early at this time of year).
Did you say ten years? Wow, that is a long time. It has gone so fast in so many ways. I am shocked that we have been posting for so long. It’s been a real pleasure to meet you!!! and all the other posters as well. I have learned so much about each of you over the years. Thanks for all you do.

Went to a ladies only dinner yesterday. Just a few friends who rarely can get together on the same day. Our version of an early Christmas party.🎄🎋 Like you visiting your family, it doesn’t happen often.

Visited mom and sis today, talked and had tea and cookies.☕🍪 Mom wanted to get away somewhere warm so sis got a good deal on back-to-back cruises in February for two weeks.

Lady this is my first time traveling since Covid and cancer so I am going back to my
old ways visiting my family. I have to hit Minnesota, GA and TN. I also have New England

Composing Bliss

Sculpting your thoughts into a poem can take you on a journey where your conscious mind is momentarily cast adrift.

The creation of any kind of art can be as much a form of meditation as a vehicle for self-expression. Energetically splashing colors of paint onto a canvas can be like casting the weight of the world off your shoulders, while raising your voice to hit the high notes of a song can inspire you to release your fears so you can reach new heights in your own life. And then there is the act of meditation that can take place when you create poetry. Sculpting your thoughts and emotions into a poem can take you on a journey into your inner universe where your conscious mind is momentarily cast adrift.

Like other forms of meditation, writing poetry requires that you stay fully present during the process, rather than focusing on any outcome. In doing so, you release any inhibitions or ideas of “what needs to happen,” so that your thoughts can flow freely through you. When you write poetry, you are able to see the reflections of your innermost self imprinted on a page.

If you’d like to experience poetry as a meditation practice, you might want to try this exercise: Set aside twenty minutes where you can be alone in a quiet space. You may want to look at poems other people have written to see if there is a style of poetry you would like to try. You can also try writing in freeform. The structure of the poem will then organically reveal itself to you. When you are ready, sit down with pen and paper and let the words flow. Don’t think about what you are going to say next, and don’t worry about spelling, grammar, or logic. Instead, be as descriptive, visually precise, rhythmic, or lyrical as you want to be. When you feel complete, put the pen down, and read over what you’ve written. Appreciate this work of art you have created. You may even find that thoughts and emotions you had repressed before are now making themselves known so you can process and release them. Writing poetry as a form of meditation lets you slow down your mind long enough for you to get out of your own way, so that your soul can freely express its deepest yearnings. AMEN! 🎈😎

Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. How are you today? I am getting settled
down now that I am back in Kansas. 😉😎🎈I feel so much better being with my mom
and family. I am tired from the storm coming home.

Oodie we went through Texas, OK and then some. I have to say it was worth the trip.
Poppy had a fit when I walked in the door you know the feeling. I had a fit too. LOL! 😎

The moon was full and it followed us all the way home. 💕

I am glad your husband came through with flying colors now home bound can’t come
soon enough.

It is a very cool 60 degrees at the moment with temps due to decline into the 40s later. Tomorrow’s temps will have a difficult time getting out of the 60s. I know I should say that the colder temps don’t affect me, but I would be lying. Not sure returning North during the winter months is a good idea. Will wait and see how hubby is doing before making that decision.

Hubby is doing OK. As far as I can tell, the surgery was a success, but he needs to drink more liquids. I don’t think he took more than 2 sips of his water while I was there for over three hours. Since he didn’t finish his dinner, he was asking for cookies or anything chocolate. I had to get permission on this one. Other than that his spirits were high and he is ready to come home. But, he first has to be able to stand and walk.

Hope the next time you vsit your mom, you include Poppy. Seems you were missed. “But, at t he same time, your son made a good substitute.

I am very tired, so will say goodnight for now. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

You mentioned Hummingbirds and wanting a feeder I think? Anyways, wanted to let you know that we have Hummingbirds here without feeding them. They like some of my blooms and bugs.
Well, I think they are territorial so maybe look into it. When I was sitting in the back yard a few times they buzzed me very closely and yah, I took the hint and went inside. I think they live in a nearby tree and/or under hanging part of the roof.

Our son was worried about being out in the storm he was tracking us and saw
many accidents we actually saw boxes of packages on the road from big rigs. YIKES

Peeling Away the Layers

Like a tree, our growth depends upon our ability to soften, loosen, and shed defenses we no longer need.

Trees grow up through their branches and down through their roots into the earth. They also grow wider with each passing year. As they do, they shed the bark that served to protect them but now is no longer big enough to contain them. In the same way, we create boundaries and develop defenses to protect ourselves and then, at a certain point, we outgrow them. If we don’t allow ourselves to shed our protective layer, we can’t expand to our full potential.

Trees need their protective bark to enable the delicate process of growth and renewal to unfold without threat. Likewise, we need our boundaries and defenses so that the more vulnerable parts of ourselves can safely heal and unfold. But our growth also depends upon our ability to soften, loosen, and shed boundaries and defenses we no longer need. It is often the case in life that structures we put in place to help us grow eventually become constricting.

Unlike a tree, we must consciously decide when it’s time to shed our bark and expand our boundaries, so we can move into our next ring of growth. Many spiritual teachers have suggested that our egos don’t disappear so much as they become large enough to hold more than just our small sense of self — the boundary of self widens to contain people and beings other than just “me.” Each time we shed a layer of defensiveness or ease up on a boundary that we no longer need, we metaphorically become bigger people. With this in mind, it is important that we take time to question our boundaries and defenses. While it is essential to set and honor the protective barriers we have put in place, it is equally important that we soften and release them when the time comes. In doing so, we create the space for our next phase of growth. 😎🎈

Arrived home about an hour ago. Hubby is good and so good in fact, he is returning to rehab. He is awake and alert and now I will leave to be with him for the rest of the day. I am dead tired but so grateful for all the support on this thread. I would have been a basket case if it weren’t for all of your prayers and thoughts. Tomorrow, the catheter will be removed. What Ive been told is that everything is working as it should. 😀😀😀

Oodie, So happy for you and your husband that surgery went smoothly. Glad he is doing so well and hopefully he can get home for the New Year. Get some rest and thanks for the update.

I am now home for the rest of the evening. Hubby slept most of the time I was there and as I left he drank some lemonade and was thinking about the tomato soup with veggies. The dinner plate he passed which was a scoop of tuna with angel hair. The head nurse will see that he eats something solid. He will also have a nice rub down and will be tucked into bed with clean sheets and pillow cases. They weren’t expecting him to return, but things went well and now you know the rest of the story.. There is no pain. He is bleeding, but it seems to be clotting now. Me, I am very tired probably more from stress than anything else. I will be getting into bed early and hope to make the doctor’s appointment tomorrow morning. The head nurse has told me not to rush there since the person taking him to the appointment will remain with him. I will make the final decision in the morning. It was extremely cold in the rehab. I had to use the new sherpa blanket to get warm. Hubby was fine. I guess my winter days are over for now. Enjoy the shopping this week. I am done. Have to admit that the tvs looked interesting. But not read the info, I will wait until next year when I know more.

It’s cool on the Gulf Coast. A full moon was present this evening and it followed me home. I surmise this is the Beaver moon. Have a nice walk with Poppy. Glad he is happy to see you. He must have missed you big time. Sorry the drive home took forever because of road conditions. Not an easy feat this time of year. Now you know why I wait until I have a two week period of clear skies and gentle breezes. It’s really bad when drivers do not know how to circumvent the roads/highways.

husband procedure and it looks like everything is going the way we prayed it. 💕

I am pretty sure you are tired in a good way. I am exhausted from coming from Colorado.
The hitch in the road was leaving and it was a storm since everyone lives in Colorado
we knew how to get back safely what a drive. Guess what we went through Amarillo, Texas,
Oklahoma and finally made it to Kansas. Oodie I will explain later but highways were shut
down. I have no issues as I had a great time with my children and most of all my mother.
I have lots of stories to tell in the coming days. 🎈😎

Meanwhile be sure to eat and spend these precious hours with your husband. Oodie I am
very happy for you. 😘🎈

To think I had to fight every inch of the way to get him seen by an urologist. Now I will fight to get him the therapy he needs to stand and walk on his two feet. Not sure of a complete reconstruction of the knees. Dementia does not go away and only gets worse, but with new meds coming down the pike you never say never.

Good morning well it is now Oodie as you know my father had Vascular Dementia
and pass just three years ago while in his late 70’s. I am paying attention because I
was there for my father throughout the process I hate this disease.

I thank god every day my mother is doing great. 😎💕😘Oodie you were right I can’t
wait to get back on the road again but during better weather.

I had to go through three States to get back to Kansas and it was worth it. 😎

I have a strong will I had to get to my dog Poppy and the cats. 💕

to go back again.😎💕I was with all my siblings and three of our daughters. 💕🎈Taci
our son came here to Kansas to stay with Poppy and feed the outdoors cats. We could
see our home and the animals on our security camara.

I took my laptop so I never really left the HSN Community. 😎🎈Plus I had orders coming
from HSN and other places and son was here to handle business he goes back to GA.
after Christmas he flies. I think he will be hanging out with his friends. 💕🎈This is a great
visit because he works remote our son did a great job.

Taci how are you and your family? We went through some serious traffic and that was to
be expected coming back home this is what I mean when it’s beyond my control.
The good lord was watching over us. 💕😎

is my brother’s favorite team lost that would be the Raiders. My brother and his wife actually
travel to the California area and to Vegas or anywhere the team is playing. I mean they fly
and get hotels and they have a ball. 😎🎈

Interesting things along the way Lady I have not travel like this in years all due to cancer
and covid so it’s good to be out in the world again.

So far the surgery is on for Monday. He has to enter through the doors for out patient and then take the elevator to the second floor. Looks like he will be in pre op for at least a couple of hours. I will be with him until they take him to surgery. The nurses will either take me to the waiting room or will give me directions. They will also give me a time to return to the waiting room so I can be directed to a room he will be in for at least an overnight. He is so ready to have the catheter out. Then the fun really begins when he will have to either use a commode or can walk to the bathroom which is in his room at the rehab. Not sure who will be there to assist him. I will help all I can while with him. Also hoping that the physical therapist will be able to work with him. I cannot begin to tell you how happy I will be when he is able to walk on his own and to climb the steps to the front door of our home in Fl..

I know your hubby is a workaholic and that brings me to the next part. I don’t care how long or short the drive is from Denver to Oz, but he should take time for himself on Monday. I don’t care if he had time to relax in Denver, the drive, no matter how long, takes it’s toll especially with colder temps and stopping at the rest areas and places to grab something warm. And I wouldn’t be surprised if you are already planning the next trip. Maybe in time for Christmas and New Years (weather permitting, of course). Have a safe trip home. ❄❄❄🌨🌨🌨⛄⛄🏔🏔☃☃🍧🍧🍧

I am probably more nervous than hubby. I am concerned with the anesthesia and also the end result. I hope he can go to the bathroom on his own without the catheter. The head nurse/unit manager thinks otherwise. Even though the urologists give him a 99.9% chance of normalcy, the head nurse thinks he has had the catheter too long for the brain to work in conjunction with the bladder, kidneys and urinary tract. We will definitely know the outcome sometime on Tuesday. Not sure if he will be kept a second night to see what happens.

Again, thank you for your note and your concern. I will need everyone’s prayers on this one.

Wow, what a nice note. I will need all those prayers and hope that everything turns out OK.. I am so nervous. I will be at the hospital and with him until he leaves for the surgery. Kindle will be with me and I just hope that the hospital’s wifi is working so I can post. Hubby will remain at the hospital overnight. If there is no internal bleeding, the catheter will be out the next day. Not sure if there is a second day once the catheter is removed. I just hope and pray that the outcome is what we all want. Your prayers are so very welcomed. I need all the help I can get on this one. Thank you for being here.

work out at the Rehab Center but I am glad you and hubby spent precious time together.

Oodie I am concerned about the upcoming surgery for your husband. I would like to know
how he is doing today. I hope you can make your hair appointment.

Busy day for you so much pressure I hope you take time to breathe.

Good Afternoon. I just made it home from the hair appointment. It is a drabby day on the West Coast. Temperature is hovering around the middle 60s. Supposed to reach low 70s. Rain is in the forecast, but it’s been an almost drizzle that lasts just a few seconds. I made a stop at the $1.25 dollar store and then decided I was hungry so picked up Southern Fried chicken from my favorite place. I will let hubby have some as well and hope he doesn’t start coughing. It is excellent. Also bought clam chowder. Cannot tell which one is the best. Both the Farmer’s Market and this one are different and wonderful. I will heat some up for hubby and will put it into a thermos. I know he will enjoy the hot soup.

This morning I contacted the head nurse. He was home tending to his kids. I surmise his wife was at work. Anyway, I brought him up to date on hubby’s situation and definitely not sure what will happen on Monday. He was supposed to be at the Rehab yesterday through early afternoon, but guess he decided to take the day off. I really cannot blame him since there are times he actually works all week and also on Saturdays.

i also went shopping last night to settle my nerves. I fell sound asleep and awoke just in time to put the garbage out. Now I will get some things ready for the trip to rehab. I plan on leaving in an hour. Hopefully, when I return there will be a recording telling me what time hubby should be at the hospital on Monday unless it is cancelled. If it is, I have no idea when the next date will be.

Not sure about Trivia tonight. I will get you started, but many may be out there taking advantage of the sales. I may drop in if everything is OK.

It will be a bittersweet moment when you leave Colorado for all of you. Drive safe and do be careful on the trip to OZ. Watch the weather reports. Be safe. Wish I could be a fly on the wall when you reach the house. Poppy is going to be so excited.

You are so right I don’t have a lot of time and soon that time is gone.
I will write again once I am safely home. Very cold up here in Colorado.

Oodie, sorry to hear about the staff issues and not having the Thanksgiving party. Seems like that is something the staff should know about and approve in advance so something is up there.
Your husband is fortunate to have you looking out for him and feeding him some great food.

Sheba, hope you had a blast yesterday. The mountains sound lovely too.

I was shocked at the take out and in a good way. There was way more food than I expected in each container. I don’t really eat meat so I made a great salad and my splurge was having some bread and a nona peppermint chocolate dessert stick with some coffee.

It’s so nice to have security camera’s. It was very helpful on our trip and let’s say that I brought back a gift for a neighbor who helped us out.

Thanks for your note. I am with hubby. He is OK. No coughing. I picked up Southern fried chicken and clam chowder from a supermarket Absolutely delicious. Now to see who is in Trivia.
