So good to see you posting. Hope you are starting to feel better. Prayers are going from our home to yours for a better tomorrow. Don’t worry about the decorations, just work on feeling better ;and only do what you can.

I am looking at foam mattresses in case hubby decides to fall out of bed again. ‘Tomorrow I will be measuring the opening between floor and bottom rail to the bed to see if I can do better than a 4″ mattress. Seems that the only bed that doesn’t hold him is the one in this house. This is the only mattress that has a pillow top and I wondeer if that has something to do with this. I may bring the nightstands a bit closer to the bed to see if that will help. Looks like the physical therapy will begin Monday. Hoping he will be able to stand and walk within a couple of weeks. What a gift that would be. Here is hoping that you have a beautiful week and then some. Kudo’s to your “prince charming.”

Hello Sheba, I always enjoy your Christmas Tree Dresses, just like the Flower Dresses in the Summer. All are so lovely, you always find just the right beautiful pictures to post.
Sheba, I tend to misread 😅 things. Those needless going in to deep does hurt, and hurt alot. Sorry that happened to you, some Technicians are better than others.
How are you doing with the Christmas decorations? Are you getting your son to help you decorate for Christmas? This year I am going to skip on the decorations, December is coming along fast. I just don’t have the energy for decorations, putting them up and taking them down.
Hopefully by the middle of the month I will have a bit more energy to do some baking.

How did things go last night with your husband? Are you and hubby going to
celebrate Hanukkah? I know it starts Thursday.

I am doing fashion shows with my annual Christmas Tree Dress. This takes some of
the stress off. 🎈😎

Went to use the dishwasher and garbage disposal last night and found that for some reason they are not working. Funny they were working just fine last week, but wonder if any of the workers that were here happened to unplug them while working under the sink in order to check the wiring and plumbing and may have put them in the wrong receptacles. The electrician will be here in the AM. The plumber will call on the faucets for the tub and shower. Made an appointment for the van on the maintenance issues. That will be next week. Handy person was a no show on repairing the metal bed so that the mattress will fit.

I stayed later than I usually do waiting for the handy person. No phone call, no nothing. By the time I got to the rehab found that hubby did not eat his entire dinner. He said it was not only awful but dreafful. I wanted to order out or to drive to Culver’s. He turned me down. Tomorrow will definitely make a stop at the Farmer’s Market and will bring a little something for both of us. Also, tomorrow is the first get together at the rehab for Christmas. They have two different times. The first one is at 1 pm and the 2nd one is at 4 pm. I do not think I will make the 1 pm. Will opt for the 2nd choice.

Hubby is doing OK, though today he wasn’t quite himself. Voice was not as robust and he seemed to be coughing a bit more. I will pass this info on to the Head nurse in the AM. Hope you four have a great evening. I’m getting a kick out of Poppy. He won’t let you go out of sight. Guess he doesn’t trust you after leaving him at home for a week. Not surprised LOL.

Taci it feels good having one of our children home. The girls met us in Colorado and it
was great we went shopping and then some. The girls all flew in to Colorado. The girls
even have cars the family leave for them to use when they visit. We do have a daughter
who graduated from the University of Colorado and we had her graduation part up in
the mountains known as Estes Park. 😎🎈

Taci that area is where Jack Nicolson made the movie the Shining we went to the hotel
it was made at. The animals walk around in the mountains and they will come to you. 💕

Wouldn’t it be fun to wear a dress like that to a party? The dresses are so creative and I still think Ms. Heidi could do a fun pin and even add on to the pin items, or ability to change out the skirts.
Anyways, I can’t possibly buy much more jewelry. Just an occasional piece.
Working from does have some advantages. My son has to go into work as he is management, but he also ends up doing extra work from home.
Estes Park looks scenic. Great you have family there and they are welcoming. Your daughters having cars when they visit is great.

I am making a meat loaf and the works for hubby and son. Poppy has not left my side
it’s like he is on mommy patrol making sure I stay put. I made sure he could see and hear
me while in I was Colorado. 💕 Poppy lost his mind when I walked in the door and my beloved
Sheba use to do the same thing. Yeah I am named after one of my pets. 😉

Finding Another Vantage Point

Seeing the world from another perspective can introduce you to all sorts of hidden treasures.
The ocean can look very different, depending on whether you are standing at the shore, soaring above in a plane, or swimming beneath its waves. Likewise, a mountain can look very different relative to where you are standing. Each living thing sees the world from its unique vantage point. While from your window you may be seeing what looks like a huge shrub, a bird in its nest is getting an intimate view of that tree’s leafy interior. Meanwhile, a beetle sees only a massive and never-ending tree trunk. Yet all three of you are looking at the same tree.

Just as a shadow that is concealed from one point of view is easily seen from another, it is possible to miss a fantastic view. That is, unless you are willing to see what’s in front of you through different eyes. Seeing the world from another perspective, whether spatially or mentally, can introduce you to all sorts of hidden treasures. The root of the discovery process often lies in finding another way of looking at the world. The common human reaction to insects is one example. Spinning its web in a dark corner, a spider may seem drab, frightening, and mysterious. But seen up close weaving silver snowflakes between the branches of a tree, they can look like colored jewels.

Sometimes, there are experiences in life that from your vantage point may seem confusing, alarming, or worrisome. Or there may be events that look insignificant from where you are standing right now. Try seeing them from another point of view. Bury your face in the grass and look at the world from a bug’s vantage point. Explore your home as if you were a small child. Take a ride in a small aircraft and experience the world from a bird’s eye view. Just as kneeling down sometimes helps you see more closely when you are looking for lost treasure, so can standing back help you appreciate the broader picture of what you are looking at. In doing so, you’ll experience very different worlds. AMEN! 😉🎈

Good day in Florida. 🎈💕😎Oz is alright today but colder days are coming.
I did have a 3D Mammogram today and labs what a joy. My Mammogram was perfect.
The lab tech hit a nerve and I scream so loud I had no idea I was screaming. All the patients
looked at me when I came out and I just smiled. 😉😘I have excellent veins never had a problem
before I am fine now.

I hope this day is a good one for you. Check in when you can. Happy Holidays and take your
time doing things. Thinking of you and hubby. 🎈

Hello Sheba, Happy December to you and your husband.
Congrats on your 3D Mammogram, that’s wonderful news. I know what you mean about the pain with Mammograms. After I went through menopause, getting Mammograms that flatten your breasts to a pancake is excruciating pain.
Our temperatures have bounce back to normal, high 70’sto low eighties during the day and 50’s to 60’s at night.
Brazil is having lots of rain in certain areas and drought in others. It was cold for a while down South, but now the heat is on. They are still in Spring, the weather there is just as crazy as we had it here this Summer.
So glad you had good results in your 3D Mammogram, and your labs are done.

Good evening it is good to see you post tonight. 🌹✨✨✨All went well today but I don’t
know what I wrote as I was tired but the Mammogram went very well no pain it was the labs
where a Tech put the needle in too deep. I did scream because I never had that kind of pain.
I am fine now but I have great veins and I drink plenty of water so they are nice and plump.
I feel so much better now that this scheduled exam is over I will be going into year five
soon. 😎I am very happy I still have the girls hardly anything change after all the treatments.

I am hoping you are having a nice holiday season I have missed your fresh bread and baking. 💕

Xango, Wow, I never knew you had so many siblings and lost them at such young ages. along with your parents. You must miss them but as you mentioned, a part of them always stays with you. Nice you have the nieces and nephews.

My Mother was the longest living person from her side. Her Mother passed at 60 years from B Cancer in the 1960’s. and her Sister and Brother also passed young maybe 50 and 40 yrs old. My Dad’s side is the opposite with much better longevity.

All I can say December is off and running. LOL! Oodie that was the most important

So sorry that the mam gave you such pain but the outcome was worth the effort. It sometimes does the body good to scream. Thankfully, you are OK and the rest will be just as good or better.

Hubby has a post op appointment Friday morning. One of the doctor’s popped in yesterday to see how he was doing. Thankfully, he was still eating his two dinners. You heard me right. Two dinners. I surmise the people in the rehab kitchen had my thoughts. They served hubby macaroni with beef. I think my dad used to call this American something or other. I brought fresh peppers with beef so the meal conincided with theirs. Fro dessert he had cookies and an ice cream cup. Me. I had romaine lettuce with tomatoes and salmon. Hubby is not a fish easter so it’s all mine. LOL.

He is still unable to stand or walk. I inquired about physical therapy and hopefully, that will start next week. The surgery is a success. New mattress due Thrusday. I am sticking with Stearns and Foster from Costco. Same price as what I payed a few years ago. Thought for sure the price would have gone up. So happy it didn’t.

I can now say that the kitchen is coming together. After this it’s the master and putting things together. I will also be stopping at Lowes since they have a dining table for the lanai that I’m interested in and it’s on sale. I will have them put it together and deliver it. Just wish they had matching chairs, but will see what they have in stock that may go with it. Did I mention that the rugs are a perfect fit. I will be removing everything on the lanai for thorough washing. The rugs need to be swept and they are waterproofed. Thus cleaning will be a breeze. Also, our people who do the lawn care in our community were here a couple of days ago and planted flowers in the front. They look amazing. He remembered that one of my favorite flowers is the Bird of Paradise. He planted two miniatures and four butterfly/hummingbird plants. For ground cover he used impatiens, all different varieties. I took some pictures and brought them to rehab. Hubby loved it, but was heartbroken that he wasn’t here for suggestions. I told him he will have a more difficult job of deciding what our new furniture will look like. I have given him the assignment of decorator.

It’s getting late, but I do need to do one cabinet. Then again, may hit it when I return from rehab. That cabinet I did a few weeks ago and for some reason it doesn’t look good. Guess I will empty the entire thing. The bottom shelf looks wonderful, the others, not so good. Yes, I’m a perfectionist. Once the cleaning is done will have the entire interior painted. Hope to have everything in it’s place before we decide on a trip North.

Guess what? Today I hiked, duh, not news and had given up all hope of finding my pin. Didn’t mention it but I gave a neighbor a ride in my car and I even went to the location I dropped her off to see if it fell out on the ground. Well today, going up the side of the hill I found it.
I think someone found it and moved it under a bush on the side of the path. Anyways, I am so happy and shocked. Guess you never know….
Also came too close to a Coyote today. It was an intersection of a path and trail. I backed up and waited and then continued onward a bit rattled but there was no threat.
Feeding all those cats must add some pressure to you and your schedule. They need you and were so lucky that you were so kind to have your son step in and continue your good work.

Thank you for your kind words the other day about my mother and brother.
Even though it’s been many years ago it still stays with me. I was lucky to have had my mother for all the years she lived with me and my hubby. She lived until 77 years, was good company for me all the years hubby was on deployment at Sea. She would visit Brazil often too and lived a full life.
My brother unfortunately didn’t make it to fifty years old. My mother, father,
sister and all three brothers smoked. I am the only one who never got the habit. I lost my dad back in 1970 of cancer, a brother in 1996. ( he was the youngest of the three brothers and I was born eleven years after he was) and another in 2001 also due to cancer. My sister had two heart attacks and my mom had a stroke. My mother tried to quit smoking several times, and wasn’t successful until the last year of her life. I am the last of the five, but there’s lots of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Good afternoon in the ‘burgh. 🎈😎Lady all went well at my appointment today.
The 3D Mammogram was very nice. I will take that now I see all the Specialists throughout
the Merry Month of December.

Labs was interesting I let out a scream and when I left all the people in the lab area eyes
were wide open wondering what was that I just smiled and kept it moving.

Son and hubby watched the game last night bummer I know the team can do better.
I am so glad my head was focus on getting the tree ready. 💕😉I also had today on my
mind.

Speaking of rain we had rain all weekend. I made the outdoor cats had plenty of good food.

let me touch them but they do trust me and depend on me. I love watching them through
our security camera eat their food some days they are really hungry.

Mr. Poppy is doing so much better and my son and I will take him for a good grooming.

Glad your weather is a lot better. I am wearing a jacket with a fireplace on in my
bedroom. I have heat on low because the bill can get cra cra. LOL!

I had some good pancakes hubby made this morning with our son. Son has taken
Poppy out just to walk many times. Poppy loves him too and he is the way with our
three daughters all of them know and love Poppy. My baby was a rescue dog and one
of our daughters brought him to be shortly after I lost my little Sheba. 💕 We are talking
2:00 a.m. in the morning she and some friends were celebrating a birthday and it was
winter daughter was watching my reaction with Poppy and once she saw it was good she
felt better. Daughter kept saying he is a Japanese Dog I have an Oriental House because
I love the look. Poppy is not an Oriental Dog he is a papillon and reading up on him I see
why he doesn’t like to be left alone. Poppy is the light of my life. 💕😎😘

Oodie I am going to wish you a nice day and if you have any shopping to do I hope you
have a good time. I can’t wait for your husband’s post-op to be over and it goes well.

Oz is very chilly today and I am fine with that. 😎

Now getting ready to visit hubby. Going to bring stuffed peppers since I do not expect a good menu being the weekend. Dessert is already in his room. May also make a salad. Tomorrow the Farmer’s Market. Need fruit and veggies. Mentioned that this market has a grand opening on the 14th. Hubby wants to be there. He is so ready to come home. This is an extra incentive. Best Hanukkah present ever. Also, they have some new exotic fruit to try now. Will be interesting to see what it is and to give a report of what it is and how it tastes. Love trying something new.

Glad your son is doing great. I am enjoying our son being home but he leaves after

Wearing a mask seems to help travelers. My friend had her elderly MIL fly in (from Colorado) and she wears a mask when traveling and never gets sick. Same when my friend picked up relatives from the airport and wore her mask, the relatives had been cruising and ended up testing positive for Covid, yet she was fine. I think mask work.
My son is busy with work and all but yes, he will find some time to snowboard. Are people in your family skiers or do they also snowboard? I’m of the Skier only generation and never liked to be on the hill with people playing games, tossing balls, and racing because I am a cautious person and now a sit by the fire with hot chocolate one at that. 🙂

Hubs and I did not feel good yesterday.😣 Never left the house, spent the day near the bathroom and on the couch. Not sure if it was something we ate or a bug. Feeling better today.

Stargazing Meditation

Stargazing meditation is an easy and readily available way to connect with self and Universe.
Since the beginning of time, humans have gazed at the stars in the night sky with awe, seeking in their luminosity everything from answers to inspiration to guidance. We have emerged from our contemplations with stories of gods and goddesses, maps of the universe, astrology, astronomy, math, and art. We have worshipped, wondered, and even projected ourselves out into space in an attempt to understand their magical essence. We know more now than we ever have about what those celestial lights are, how far away they reside, and what will happen to them over time, but facts and information are still no substitute for experiencing them yourself.

Gazing at the stars is no doubt one of the earliest forms of meditation practiced by human beings, and it is readily available to this day. If you live in a city, you may have a hard time seeing the stars, but a short drive can take you far enough beyond the city lights to reveal their glory. If you live in a rural setting, all you have to do is wait for the sun to set and the night to settle to get the show of your life, every night. If you make a habit of it, you will begin to know the seasonal changes of the night sky, deepening your connection to the earth and the universe in which you live.

One of the best ways to stargaze is to lie down on a blanket so that your body can fully relax. This position allows your breath to move easily through your tranquil form as you settle down into the earth, connecting your consciousness to the sky. As you look deeply into its vastness, allowing your awareness to alternate between the pinpoints of light and the blue-black space that holds them, your breath expands and contracts your body, just as the universe expands and contracts to its own eternal rhythm. You may feel as if you are floating amidst the stars or that they are raining down upon you. You may feel peacefulness, joy, and connectedness, or any of a full range of emotions. Simply continue to breathe, experiencing the wonder of this universe and your place within it. AMEN! 😘🌹✨✨

was not great coming back but I am not complaining we made it back to our son, Poppy and
the outdoors cats. The animals were happy to see me. LOL!

So sorry about last night in Trivia. It took almost an hour to post the beginning and when Trivia started the keyboard got stuck. I almost chucked the kindle. found out when I was leaving that their system went down at the rehab. This also included their medical computers. By the time I arrived home was too bushed to do anything but crawl into bed.

I did shop at Costco yesterday and picked up another Sherpa blanket. I will be taking home the used one tonight to wash and thus I now have a backup. I picked up a hotdog for hubby with soda and a Caesar salad for me which I just finished. Thank goodness for the freezer bags, they come in handy. When I arrived at hubby’s room the nurse was wrapping him in blankets. He was shivering all over. He asked me numerous times to put on my warm jacket, but having been at Costco and loading the van, I was still warm from that event. Less than an hour later I was facing the extreme cold. Guess going North may not happen for awhile. I think it is time to bring the long pants for him. While the nurse was there I mentioned he would probably be more comfortable in bed with sheet and blankets than sitting in a wheelchair. He was fine until the other nurse came in to put clean sheets on the bed (she could not do this while he was in the wheelchair?????). Then she tried to straighten his left leg and all h-ll broke loose. She knew better.

Hubby has a post op appointment next week sometime with the urologist. I know they will ask for a sample. Not sure how he will be able to do it. However, I will inform the head nurse on Monday and maybe they can figure a way to bring one with him. I also will need to know so I can have first hand info. He is really happy that he does not need to worry about moving around with that catheter. He is doing much better and no pain.

Well, it’s that time again. Need to get ready to see hubby. It is in the 80s here with humidity. No rain in sight. Have a great evening. Hope the pizza last night was yummy.

Good morning in S. California. Taci there was nothing wrong with your question about
skiing. LOL! I just have had some bad breaks on my ankle. Here is what bothered me the
most I could not wear my three inch heels for six months. That was a bummer!

I have great long legs and they have served me well. My brother face-time me yesterday
get the skis ready to go up in the mountain the whole family had that look on their faces.
My family loves to ski and show-off LOL! I prefer these days to just have some hot chocolate
by the fireplace and I have done that many times. I wish I were still in Colorado. 💕🎈

Taci is your son back to his snow blading? I am glad all of you are doing great. 😉😘😎

Taci next week will be an interesting week for me.

Sheba, glad you didn’t mind. I didn’t want to bring up any painful memories. Wow, I am impressed you managed 3 inch heels within six months. My feet wouldn’t be happy with me . We have different body types for sure. My reputation at the office was to wear low heels, After 2 inches my feet always cramped up.
My son is thinking of Snowboarding in January, plus we will take him somewhere also. I think Utah. Your Colorado and Minnesota family have adapted well to the snow. All that Skiing is good. Now a days, I will join you by the fire with hot chocolate. Good luck next week!

your prayers and wishes for me during my trip to Colorado. Xango it was an adventure.

I miss my family so much and we were blessed to have some our kids there in Colorado.
My brother told me you see that car that is your daughter’s car when she comes to Colorado
it was so funny. We had over 35 family members for Thanksgiving last week. I took it all in
and I am never going to let things get in the way this long again. I can’t wait to go back.

I have been walking and getting back to basics and it feels so good.

Taci you asked me if I ski the answer is at one time. I have fallen out of bed and broke
my ankle in three places I had to have major surgery within hours and we are talking
about 2:00 a.m. my ankle was dislocated and the doctor had to pick my feet up and put
it back that means attach it to my leg bone. I screamed holy S… it was painful. I go to the
mountains with family and I watch my nieces and nephews and my brothers have a ball
on skis. Our branch on the Minnesota side they are all avid skiers. I just enjoy the fire and a
cup of hot chocolate. 😎🎈😉 I never want to feel that kind of pain again.

Taci I am pretty sure you are thinking of your mother especially during this season.
I miss hearing about her. 😘💕I do appreciate you being here all these years. Taci time
is flying I can’t wait to go back to Colorado when the weather clears. 💕

I recall you posting about being carried out from your bedroom. I sure hope your ankle is healed and of course get why you wouldn’t choose to Ski on it. Ouch.
Hiked today and it was nice and cool. Then later I walked with a friend, who is a survivor.
Lots of steps and started to put some outdoor lights up.
I admire how you look after the cats and try to make their lives easier. You have a kind heart.
