Conversation – 21

  • Sheba2011

Good Day Peeps in our Wonderful Community this is Thread number 21 of the Conversation Series. 😎😉

I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please stay safe. 🌹✨😎

      Just wanted to tell you that I love all the fall gifs – especially the ones that have movement from rain & wind & falling leaves – not to mention the beautiful fall colors.
      Many thanks!🍁🍃🍂🌼🌻

      Sheba2011

      Hi and a good afternoon to you. Your hard freeze for tonight sounds pretty good. No more sinus problems outdoors unless it’s the dried leaves. Be sure to take your meds just in case.

      I am feeling somewhat better and glad that I put off the house until Monday. There are a few things that I hope to get done before then. I will need to be here to make the decisions on what stays and what we can toss. Oh how wonderful that will be. Alas, poor hubby. He wants so badly to be the extra hands and not these people. But, in reality, it is better for these people to be here since they have experience. Best of all, it’s a one day operation. Next step will be to contact the electrician, plumber and cable to get us up and rolling. All this to occur before hubby is home. At least now he will be able to enjoy all the rooms and to have good wholesome meals and his immunity system raised. I surmise that not sleeping through the night got me to this stage. Hopefully, I am caught up.

      I will get Trivia started today. Just not sure if I will be there at all. I will make a last minute decision. As far as seeing hubby, I am hoping that I can mask up without a problem. Since there are plenty of gloves for the nurses in his room, I will use those.

      Take care. Neither of us needs another case of the sniffles. I almost bought Iman’s TS and decided not to. I need to try it on in front of a mirror. Since I do not like returning items, better to wait and see. Also, trying to lose weight and what fits today may not fit tomorrow. I am losing and loving it.

      See you later, I hope.

      • Sheba2011
      • 10.28.23 1:57 AM

      @oodiebom,

      Please get some rest I know you took your meds. I am about to take mine.
      Oz is raining and we are cold as of now.

      Just rest my friend. ✨✨

      • OODIEBOM
      • 10.28.23 4:18 AM

      @sheba2011

      I broke down and decided to purchase yesterday’s TS. I got a size larger to allow for bulky things underneath especially when I return to the homes North. The hood is a plus and to unbutton it, a good choice when not needed. Since hubby took sick in the end of January and been in rehab since the beginning of February I am down two sizes. Still have a few pounds to go. Funny, when I had my doctor’s appointment a few weeks ago I thought I had gained. No wonder my tests were better than perfect. And by waiting, took advantage of the coupon.

      @oodiebom,

      Oodie that is wonderful I hope you like it. Hey what coupon? I am rocking the some
      Blue French Suede Boots I need to leave a feedback.

      Oodie I hope you feel better soon. 🎈😘😎

      @shoelady60,

      Good afternoon in the beautiful ‘burgh. Oh what a Hockey Game Lady I wish you had
      gone to that game. My family may not like the score but your team did great. 🎈😎

      I wish every game could be a winner.

      Enjoy your mom and sister this weekend. Give sis a nice sweet hug for me. 😘

      Oz will have a hard freeze this weekend I am having hubby in some of the plants that
      are still growing we will be in the 30’s. I have jackets and coats out already.

      Enjoy this Friday. 😎🎈

      @sheba2011

      Hi in Oz. Never fails, the games I don’t go to are the real good ones. Must be an omen for me to stay home for them to win.🙄 They did play really well. Sis flew home through Denver and she was sitting next to someone from there who was going to the game. Hubs and his friend had a great time. Tell your family I said sorry.😄

      Got mom’s patio furniture put away today. Glad that’s done. Not much else planned for the weekend except yard stuff before it starts raining.🍁🍂🌧 We will be getting a freeze next week and Halloween looks chilly.🥶

      Good luck with the game Sunday. I see it’s you against your family.😮 I’m betting on you. Hope Poppy doesn’t need his snow shoes yet!🤗💖

      @shoelady60,

      You are so darn funny! I will tell my family sorry about the loss last night. LOL!

      Sunday well here we go again we play Colorado again. Shizzle!

      Sis said today there is snow in Colorado and it may come to OZ.

      Nighty! 😘✨

      Energy of a Home

      Everything and everybody that enters your home creates energy and leaves a footprint.

      Our homes are filled with energy that we create and allow to flourish. In many cases, our relationship with the pulse of our homes is passive rather than active because we do not pay particular heed to the energy that has been established. It is only when we regard these spaces as unique entities that we begin to understand why it is necessary to take charge of the energy that fills our homes. Stagnant, inharmonious energy can find its way into our dwellings through many avenues. Previous occupants, builders, visitors, and the individuals who maintain a home leave a strong energy imprint behind. Objects and symbols can also have an effect on the energy of a residence. When we are aware of all that can influence the energy of our spaces, we are empowered to create harmonious homes that do more than meet our need for shelter.

      Exercising care with regard to who and what we invite into our homes is one of the easiest ways we can ensure that the energy within remains loving and supportive. It is not always possible to keep potentially harmful people and possessions from entering our homes, but we can take precautions. Individuals can be kept from private spaces like bedrooms and meditation areas, while property can be purified through cleansing or smudging. During periods of remodeling or construction, Reiki symbols and other positive imagery can be printed on surfaces that will later be covered by walls or flooring. Though hidden, these will continue to attract good energy and cleanse the existent energy. Blessings can also be drawn in plain sight, where they remind us of how potently our home’s energy can affect our own.

      A home can appear beautiful, comfortable, and stable while still serving as a dwelling place for negative or otherwise offensive energy. If you care for your home conscientiously and with great care, you will instinctively look beyond the surface qualities of your home when assessing how it feels. Since you actively guard your home against the intrusion of unwelcome energy, you will have the time and vigor necessary to cope with it constructively when it should appear in your midst. The spirit of your spaces will respond to your thoughtful actions, nurturing and supporting you for as long as you choose to reside within her walls. 😎🎈

      @sheba2011

      I think I caught your sniffles. I thought it was sinus problems, but, I feel miserable. No sore throat, but missed seeing hubby yesterday and today. A/C is now repaired and the gentleman who was referred to me came by this morning. He will be here Monday morning. I think the mice are getting in through the den door. Will t ake a measurement and then head to Lowes for the something that slides in and will keep those animals away. The people I hired will also be looking but they seem to feel it came from the open roofs from the hurricanes last year.

      I’m not sure how good this guy is. He forgot to write down our phone number, though he had our name. I will keep my eye on his business and helpers. I won’t need to lift a finger. I just hope I am not being taken for a ride. He isn’t cheap. The one thing I do like is that he will be turning every piece of furniture upside down and will check the sofa pillows as well. I will order a new mattress and not the box spring. Now need to check on the mattress to fall on and to make sure that it can go under the bed when not in use.

      I just ordered a pizza and salad. I am famished.

      Sounds like Poppy is wearing his booties through the puddles in Oz.🐾 Looks like we will get some of that Sunday and Monday🌧 and much cooler temps next week.

      Sis is back with no problems. Saw her briefly yesterday evening but she was tired so will catch up sometime this weekend. I know mom is so happy.🥰

      I was supposed to go to the game tonight but really am not in the mood so hubs and a friend are going.🏒 Must be the weather, feels like summer. They are playing a top, undefeated team so, in hindsight, don’t want to waste my time. I’ll just flip the channel at home later.📺

      Hope your service gets back to normal. Such a PITA, always something.😣 Hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖

      Different Ways of Knowing

      Common sense — while not always officially rewarded, has its own special genius.

      We human beings have many ways of knowing what we need to know in order to get through our lives. One way of knowing things is to engage in a course of study in an academic environment. Another way of knowing things is simply to go through the experiences that come our way, making a conscious effort to learn from them. A third way in which people gain knowledge is through the vehicle of intuition, a gift some have more than others, but which can be developed in anyone. No one way of knowing things is better than another way, and they can all be useful at different points in our lives.

      Most of us naturally gravitate toward one way of knowing over others, and this tends to be clear early in our lives. For the most part, we live in a culture that values a logical, mental approach to knowing things, so those with intuitive gifts may have been shamed, undervalued, or misunderstood in our ways. Many of us are working our way out of this incorrect value judgment, recognizing that our intuition, far from being wrong or untrustworthy, is a great gift. For those of us who conduct our learning in the thick of our life experiences, we may also have to make an extra effort to remind ourselves that our particular intelligence — often called common sense–while not always officially rewarded, has its own special genius.

      Even though, in a given time or place, certain types of intelligence tend to be valued more than others, no way of knowing is inherently better than another. Once we understand this, we can value our own intelligence, as well as the different intelligences of the people we encounter. Sometimes, just understanding that we are coming at the same issue in different ways helps us to avoid an unnecessary conflict. When we value all ways of knowing equally, we benefit not only from what we have learned, and how we have learned it, but from all the other forms of intelligence we are open to honoring. AMEN! 😎

      @Sheba🍁🍁🍁🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍁🍁🍁🍁

      Good afternoon Sheba 😊
      It’s a breeze day here, yesterday we had lots of wind. Still no rain and it’s very dry everywhere. Hubby watered the plants, they were just about gone. I don’t have heart to ask him to constantly water them like I used to. He has been doing alot.
      Can’t believe it’s just about the end of October. Last year I baked cookies and other goodies for the kids for Halloween. This year hubby ordered candy and he will be giving it out.
      Our temperatures continue to remain in the eighties during the day and in the sixties at night.
      I am trying to recover, and hoping by the time to decorate for the holidays I will be able to do so.

      Take care Sheba 🌹 🙂

      It’s great to see you post. I know you are still hurting and it will take time to get back to your ole self. Just have patience and be thankful for the little things you can do. Whatever you do, don’t push yourself. Take each day as it comes. My hubby has a bedside table that goes up and down. You may take a look on line for something like that (well, a little wide). Actually, I like the origami because you do not need to put it together and it easily folds up when not in use. This may be something that could be useful while you are healing. It’s just a thought. As far as watering your plants outside, why not get a sprinkler so you do not need to stand in one spot for what seems like hours. You just need to remember when it was started so it can either be moved to another location or you can (in this case your hubby) shut it off. Better yet, you can set a timer for going on and off. By the way, who says you need to be in the kitchen for getting things ready for baking. Also, many of the patients at the Rehab have walkers. But not the kind they normally use which doesn’t give you the mobility you need. I am talking about a walker which you need to purchase. It has four wheels and a seat. There are brakes on the handles. Hubby’s roommate has one and I have to tell him there is a “red” light ahead as he whizzes by.
      Not sure if insurance will pay for this. I suggest you inquire. Your hubby will be able to help with this end. Now, go and take it easy. I’m glad your hubby is home while you are recuperating.

      @sheba2011

      Last week between Wednesday and the weekend we were supposed to get a solar storm that could do havoc to our Internet. I have a feeling that was the reason that your Internet went backwards. I know it’s too late to post to that thread, but could be what did it to you and what made my recaptcha sing out with static. Blame it on that and our cable service as well.

      I am fine. Just too tired to post the last couple of days and today having some issues with sinuses that could be a cold. Needless to say I will not be venturing out to see hubby and have told the head nurse as well. However, here is something I am totally amazed at. Two nights ago hubby was extremely tired and it was absolutely freeing in rehab. He had a warm jacket on and one at his feet. He wanted to get under warm covers. I decided to pull the bedding apart and found the bottom sheet was only half done and the top sheet was doubled over. I took the bottom sheet off entirely and told hubby to hang in there. I remade the bed and then hubby decided the wait was over. He locked the wheelchair in place and asked me how he could get into bed on his own. I showed him what I would do and he did the same. He made it into bed himself. I was dumbfounded and all so proud. I now need to have the therapy unit work on him getting in and out of bed on our 14 1/2″ mattress. I have a meeting with the Rehab team on the 7th. I know he will be ready to come home at that time, but since he needs to go through the testing prior to surgery, I am hoping that the rehab can get him there. I think that is scheduled a week later.

      My extra pair of hands will be here either tomorrow or sometime next week. His price is more than I care to spend, but will see what he suggests. I also received a phone call a few minutes ago. The guys will be here tomorrow to repair the duct work. That certainly will help my sinuses.
      The new microwave will be delivered on the 31st. That’s everything in a nutshell. Hope you have a great day and all the storms are over and done with.

      You Are Enough

      Just being here, being ourselves, is enough.

      Most of us have the feeling that we are here to accomplish something big in our lives, and if we haven’t done something that fits the bill we may feel as if we are waiting. We may feel incomplete, or empty, as if our lives don’t yet make sense to us, because they don’t line up with our idea of major accomplishment. In some cases, this may be because we really are meant to do something that we haven’t yet done. But in most cases, we can let ourselves off the hook with the realization that just being here, being ourselves, is enough.

      As we live our lives in this world, we share our energy and our spirit with the people around us in numerous ways. Our influence touches their lives and, through them, touches the lives of many more people. When we strive to live our lives to the fullest and to become our true selves, we are doing something big on an inner level, and that is more than enough to make sense of our being here on this planet at this time. There is no need to hold ourselves to an old idea in the back of our minds that we need to make headlines or single-handedly save the world in order to validate our existence.

      We can each look within our hearts to discover what is true for us, what gives our lives meaning, and what excites us. We can release ourselves from any pressure to perform that comes from outside of our inner sense of purpose. Staying in tune with our own values and living our lives in tune with our own vision is all we need in order to fulfill our time here. Our lives are a process of becoming so that we cannot help but cocreate; being who we are, responding to each moment as it comes, we can trust that this is enough. AMEN! ✨✨

      Hard Days

      A hard day can sometimes be a great teacher if we stop for reflection.

      We all have days that seem endlessly difficult and hard. On these days, it is as if the odds are stacked against us and we just can’t get a break as one challenging situation follows another. We may feel like we’re standing in the ocean getting hit by wave after wave, never able to get a full breath. Sometimes it’s necessary or worth it to stay in the fray and work our way through. Other times, the best idea is to go home and take the breath we need in order to carry on.

      If the only choice is to get through it, a hard day can be a great teacher. It will eventually end and we can look back on it, taking pride in the stamina, courage, and ingenuity it took to hold our ground. We may also look back and see how we could have done things differently. This knowledge will be valuable when we face hard days in the future. Trust your gut as you’re deciding whether to work through it, and know that sometimes a timely retreat is the best way to ensure a positive outcome. Getting space can remind us that external circumstances are not the whole picture. Once we catch our breath and re-center ourselves, we will be able to determine our next move. With a little perspective, we may even find the inner resources to change our attitude about what’s happening. We may begin to see that what we saw as hardships are actually opportunities. As our attitude changes for the better, our actions and the circumstances will follow suit.

      Sometimes all that’s needed is a good night’s sleep. No one is immune to having a hard day and these are usually the times we can learn the most. If we can find it in our hearts to examine the day, and maybe make one small change in perception, we can ease our pain and greet the next day that much wiser. AMEN! 😎😎

      Somewhere Over The Rainbow – Judy Garland

      Somewhere over the rainbow
      Way up high
      There’s a land that I heard of
      Once in a lullaby
      Somewhere over the rainbow
      Skies are blue
      And the dreams that you dare to dream
      Really do come true
      Someday I’ll wish upon a star
      And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
      Where troubles melt like lemon drops
      Away above the chimney tops
      That’s where you’ll find me
      Somewhere over the rainbow
      Bluebirds fly
      Birds fly over the rainbow
      Why then, oh, why can’t I?
      Somewhere over the rainbow
      Bluebirds fly
      Birds fly over the rainbow
      Why then, oh, why can’t I?
      If happy little bluebirds fly
      Beyond the rainbow
      Why, oh why can’t I?

      @oodiebom,

      Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😉💕😎Today is a beautiful day in OZ.
      We have rain on the way tomorrow morning we need it. The local forecast said
      we will get a good soaking. 💕

      I know your hands are full right now good luck on cleaning and fixing everything.
      I just hope the little critters are one and done. 😉

      How is your husband doing today? I think my eyes would light up when you come
      to visit. Oodie as a child I was hit by a car and nearly did not make it I was 10 years old.
      My mother would visit me everyday and I was so happy to see her every day. 😎 I had
      to learn how to walk all over again I was in the hospital for four months which seem
      longer when you are a child and missing home.

      Here is to a good Monday Oodie. 💕

      Human Angels

      Allow yourself to be a human angel for others and also be on the receiving end when needed.

      During each of our journeys, there are those inevitable moments when someone comes into our life at precisely the right time and says or does precisely the right thing. Their words or actions may help us perceive ourselves more clearly, remind us that everything will turn out for the best, help us cope, or see us through difficult situations. These people are human angels — individuals designated by the universe to be of service to those in need at specific points in time. Some human angels make a commitment before their births to make a positive contribution to the world at a particular moment. Others were chosen by the universe. All human angels, however, come into our lives when we least expect them and when we can most benefit from their presence.

      A few of the human angels we may encounter are in professions where helping others is an everyday occurrence. But most of them are regular people, going about their daily lives until called upon to be in the right place at the right time to bring peace, joy, help, or heal someone when they most need it. You may have met a human angel in the form of a teacher who gave you a piece of advice that touched your soul and influenced your path. The person that momentarily stopped you to say hello on the street, delaying you long enough to avoid an oncoming car or a collision, is also a human angel. They may offer nothing more than a kind word or a smile, but they will offer it when you can draw the most strength and support from their simple actions.

      You may be a human angel yet not know it. Your fate or intuition may guide you toward other people’s challenging or distressing situations, leading you to infer that you simply have bad luck. But recognizing yourself as a human angel can help you deal with the pain you see and understand that you are there to help and comfort others during their times of need. Human angels give their inner light to all who need it, coming into our lives and often changing us forever. Their task has its challenges, but it is they who have the power to teach, bring us joy, and comfort us in times of despair. AMEN! 😉😎
