Please be careful I think you are doing great. 🌹 Oz is cooling down a bit but I still have
the A/C on just to make the house comfortable we have a two story house with a finished
basement that is built to the nines. Hubby has an office space and we have TV and exercise
equipment and a complete living room I guess you could call it one huge Great Room.

I getaway down there and some days I stay in my dressing room which is nice and cool
I have a window and can see outside. ✨😎This house is an older house that we had re-done.

I think it may be on the level of you house in CT. What that means is it takes a lot of work to
keep up. Yikes!

I am hoping to contact Spectrum and the electrician after the 4th of July. I’m almost there in the den and it’s just a few boxes for donation in the Great/Living room that can be loaded in the car. Hubby has been working on the den unbeknownst to me. The bedroom still has much needed work to do. The origami bookcase is awesome. The books look great. I still have one to unbox for the living room area and debating about another one. Best part, there is nothing to assemble.

No, we have not gone shopping this week. It’s been too hot and this morning when we were ready to go, I ended up not feeling well. Must have eaten something wrong. OK now. And will feel better once the A/C kicks in. Temp in the house was 88.

The bun buns are cute. I really miss seeing them in Ct. and Ma.. I actually miss seeing the wild life, though we do have snakes and geckos which I can do without. Not a lover of reptiles. Well, guess I better get back to the KP duties.

It seems like your sister just flew in for mom’s birthday and she is on the go again. I wish her a safe trip to Chicago and a safe journey home to Ca.. I also hope she has some cooler days. If I remember correctly, sis has some cruises coming up in the very near future. Suffice to say that hubby and I are still not ready for that type of adventure. We still need to get through that surgery first. I wonder if the third appointment will be the charm or better yet, to give him permission to either drive or fly North.

Weather in Florida is in the mid 90s during the day and mid 70s at night. Humidity is 100%. We had a thunderstorm yesterday and the lightning show was unbelievable. Scary, though. We did receive much needed rain. So far nothing today, though we could something during the evening hours. Oh yes, we are watching three tropical depressions. One in the Gulf and the other two in the Atlantic. I guess if it makes it to tropical it will be named Bonnie. The ocean temp here is over 90 degrees. I surmise it is a sauna or the beginnings of one.

Spent today with sis at the pool since we couldn’t go in last week. Got wet and laid in the sun for a little color. Another perfect weather day, 70s with no humidity.🌞😎 Glad you are having some comfy days and can enjoy the evening on the patio. Helps soothe the mind.😊

I have been enjoying my favorite white peaches.🍑 I think I have made three trips to the store in the last week to get some. Not all our stores carry the white ones so I get them when I can. Have another relaxing evening with some iced tea🧉, maybe I will join you and bring peach tea! Sending hugs to you and Poppy.🤗🐶

The Negative Effects of Spoiling Children

When children are spoiled we do them a great disservice because they are not being allowed to earn and learn.

Parents are moved by instinct to love, nurture, and provide for their offspring. Because our children are so much a part of us, we want to see them blissfully happy. Also, our own desire to be liked, materialist pressures, and a fervent wish that our children have everything we lacked as youngsters can prompt us to spoil them. However, while it might seem that buying your child expensive gifts will give them fond memories of childhood or that you can heal your emotional wounds by doting on your sons and daughters, you may be unconsciously interfering with your children’s evolutional development. One of the most precious gifts you can grant your children is the true independence they gain when they learn to earn what they covet and become stewards of their own happiness. Try allowing your children to experience life to the fullest. Let them work and earn what they want. When the time comes for them to go to college and enter the workforce, you will have the confidence that you have raised a child that can both enter and contribute to society confidently.

When children are not afforded the opportunity to explore self-reliance, to understand that with possession comes price, and to fulfill their own needs, they develop a sense of entitlement that blinds them to the necessity of hard work and the needs of others. We may spoil children because giving them gifts is pleasurable. Or we may want to avoid conflict out of fear that our children won’t love us. Yet children who are given acceptance, love, and affection in abundance are often kinder, more charitable, and more responsible than those whose parents accede to their every material demand. They develop a strong sense of self that stretches beyond possessions and the approval of their peers, and as adults they understand that each individual is responsible for building the life they desire. If you find yourself giving in to your child’s every whim, ask yourself why. You may discover that you are trying to answer for what you feel is lacking in your own life.

Rearing your children to respect the value of money and self-sufficiency as they grow from infants to young adults is a challenging but rewarding process. It can be difficult to watch a child struggle to meet a personal goal yet wonderful to be by their side as they achieve it. Your choice not to spoil your children will bless you with more opportunities to show them understanding and compassion and to be fully present with them as they journey toward adulthood. AMEN! ✨✨

Yep, I am a spice girl and I love the smell of cinnamon and nutmeg in pies. I don’t like
