Good Afternoon. The sun is out and temps are finally in the low 70s. Rain on Saturday and another cold front to look forward to next week. This is so different from what I am used to in Florida. We usually have an early spring in February, but not this year. Oh well. Need to make the best of it as my grandparents used to say.

I am getting ready to visit hubs. Need to get rid of a sinus headache first and then make some soup for hubs. I will have a chicken sandwich, unless the Rehab has something better.

My very early morning started with what should have been a 30-40 minute drive being 90 minutes (one way). I got there with 4 minutes to spare. There was a lot of traffic plus construction.
Came home and sat outside to get some sun so I know what you mean about needing that sun!
I’m watching a Top Chef rerun and Anthony Bourdain is on it. I’ll catch up on my exercise tomorrow.
Glad your Niece and her friends are educated and successful. It’s great for their future too.

Hi. I loved going to the Boardwalk in New London, Ct.. Also liked the area for changing from street clothes to a bathing suit. The Boardwalk had many delights. Ice cream (some soft served), a take out food area and on the other side the famous Merry-Go Round and the Dodgem Cars. Both places I thoroughly enjoyed. While dating hubby we used to walk to the other side to play mini golf and in the winter played the Arcade games. Some were free due to the offseason. For some reason he always let me win. LOL.. The parking lot was always full and there was never a charge to spend the day at the beach. Of course, today, it will cost you to park there. The beach was always full. The sand always hot to the bottom of your feet. The ocean always cold until you got used to it. As you meandered to the right you had huge rocks with mussels attached. The other side was for the people who lived in Waterford, Ct.. Many years later this spot became the venue for “Summer Music” on Thursdays. It was always something to look forward to. Bring a blanket or quilt and lay it on the ground and begin your own picnic. Sometimes we would bring a bottle of wine ,other times a soft drink. We met Yoyo Ma during intermission. Harry Belafonte (my favorite and still is), Canadian Brass. Empire Brass (another favorite). Rolf Smedvig started this group and today he is still my favorite horn player. His feeling for the composers really shines through. He doesn’t just play the notes, he feels them. These just to name a few. It was loads of fun and you had a choice. You could remain on the grounds or go into the tent for the show. We did both.

Great minds think alike. The cruise your sister is going on sounds delightful. February is a great month to put your feet up and to enjoy the ocean breezes. Our weather in Florida will be changing beginning tomorrow with temps approaching 70 degrees and by next week the 80s. Believe it or not, it is still not too late for you mom to change her mind. It will do her good to find a spot to sit and maybe read a book or two. Or she can completely relax by the pool. Your sister’s cabin may have an extra bed and packing can be done in an hour or two. Bet there is still room on the plane. You never know. Anyway, hubs and I always enjoyed a cruise in February. It was always a last minute thing to do after a harsh winter and before driving the 1350 miles North. I wish safe travels for your sister. Do not get off the ship if one of the stops is in Mexico. At least, not this time.

Woke up to a little more snow.❄️ Each day most of it melts and every morning it is white outside this week. The groundhog nailed his prediction.

Hockey game is tomorrow night and we lost our star player for the next month. Crosby got injured during the Olympics and found out today he will be out at least four weeks.😫 The season is over in April and might not make the playoffs without him.

Worked on taxes today since I won’t have a lot of time with sis gone. Still missing the Olympics. Have a cozy evening, sending big hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖

I am taking your advice and staying in to play a bit of catchup. Both homes in the North were deluged with more than 20″ of the white stuff. I know the entire Cape has no electricity, This also means that the gas is off in our home at the Cape so there will be no heat even after the electrical is turned on. Someone will need to reignite the pilot. Right now I am just hoping that the roofs on both homes do not cave in with the heavy snow. More snow expected tomorrow. All roads and highways leading to the Cape are closed. Yes, I do remember the blizzard of 76. I was working in New London Ct. which was approximately 14 miles door to door. When we awoke that morning hubs and I expected to see tons of snow. Instead there was beautiful sunshine and no cloud in the sky. We thought the weather people got it all wrong. Working in an office where the only windows were from the back and front doors, we had no idea what was going on. About 1pm that day the office was told to close. There was many inches of white already on the ground and on vehicles in the parking lot. I made a stop at McDonalds for Big Mac dinners and milkshakes for everyone at my mother-in-laws home. Hubby, at that time was on crutches for a knee injury and ended up staying at the house. We had help for him mom and the four of us welcomed the meal. I left while I could to make it to our apartment which was up a very steep hill. Thankfully, my car made it. At that time I had a tuxedo cat who was perched on my kitchen’s window sill trying to stay warm. And there I was for the next three or four days. Delivery of food, water and milk was by helicopter. Bread also and some other goodies. There was no way in or out, though hubs did make it to his office on the second day. I was told to go to the Norwich office, but there was no way in or out at the time. Hubs let it be known where I was and why I could not get out. Walking would not be OK. It was one snowdrift after another and besides it was very cold. Definitely not a good idea.

You must have had ESP yesterday. Sis is leaving on Friday for back to back cruises out of Florida. The first one is seven days and the second is ten days. Mom is not going. She feels that is a little too long at her age. I think she is a little scared after breaking her arm (she is doing well) and I think she feels sis won’t have a nice time if she has to babysit her.

Good Evening my niece friends are all college educated and straight out of California.
Niece told me they had to move there due to rent and housing being too high.

I face-timed her last night she is safe in California and she is a professor at University
and so are some of her friends. These kids are paying off student loans and then some.
There are 100’s of them living there due to necessity. All the kids are 100% American
from all over the country. I hope they all stay safe. 💕

Here is to a relaxing evening I have loved Bob Mackie since he started dressing Cher who
can wear is couture fashions like no one. 😎💕

All is okay in the ‘burgh. We only got about two inches of snow in the last two days. No problems with roads or power.

Spent the day with mom and sis. Got our nails done and had lunch.💅 Sis is leaving Friday for back to back cruises out of Florida.🛳️ First one is seven days and the second is ten days. She’ll be back the third week of March so I will be very busy for a few weeks.

Hi. Well it’s not snowing here, but it is really cold with the wind. I will be in layers today. By the time I leave the Rehab it will be in the low 40s. We will be cold through Wednesday. This is not Florida weather, but what is??? LOL

The knee seems to be better as long as I do not bend to pick things up. I have the trusty ole broom and a long handled scooper to help with that chore.

I purchased tomato basil soup from Costco. You will find this in the deli take out section. It comes with two cheese sandwiches. They were giving samples of this soup with the sandwich when I was there on Saturday. The soup was really good and tasty. The person doing the demo had cut the sandwiches into small pieces and added it to the soup after ladling it into the small container for a taste.

Tjinking about Shoelady and her hubby along with her sister and mom. I wonder if her sister is planning another cruise to get away from the cold temps and the snow. This is the time hubby and I usually embark for a two week awaycation. Both our homes in the North expect over 20″ of that white stuff. I just hope our roofs are OK. From what I read this is a wet snow. Could do a lot of havoc.

Good Evening I miss your cruises you and hubby took every year. I also miss hearing
about New England especially Cape Cod. Oodie I don’t know if i told too many times
or not but one of our daughters lives in small town in Massachusetts and have for
many years she also spent seven years living in New York City after College. 🎈

I have a lot of plans to just go this year I have to so much is going on in my family.
Daughter said she goes to Cape all the time and have friends all over. One of her friend’s
has a beautiful log house in Vermont with a fireplace and a beautiful deck for hot coffee
with a running stream to relax i will be going there. I have pictures and it is so breath taking
and sounds and looks like what you describe as you and hubby go down I-95.

Your Tomato Basil Soup is Delicious with the sandwiches on a night like this. We are in the
20’s in OZ.

Oodie I will be watching the movie I named my dog Sheba after. TCM is showing Come Back
Little Sheba. 💕i was not born yet but the name stuck and i actually saw the movie with no
commercials and TCM will show it tonight with no commercials. 💕😘 Yeah my log on name
is after my beautiful pooch and I love it. 💕😎

Good afternoon to you. Yes, I am missing the games today. I so enjoyed them this year. Glad they ended with a great win for the USA.🥅

We got a little over an inch of snow yesterday and the grass and driveway was covered again this morning.❄️ The eastern part of the state got massive amounts. So tired of seeing white.

Got some odds and ends done this morning, making chicken noodle soup for dinner.🍲 Stay warm, sending lots of hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖

Did not see hubs today. We had rain late morning and again in the afternoon. The wind is something else. We have alerts until Tuesday morning pertaining to fires and rip tides. The temp is 58, but it feels like a wintry night. I am wearing my Sherpa blanket which is similar to yours. I purchased two colors. Red and caramel/tan. So cuddly and cozy.

I did venture to Costco and wrote about that trip last night after your post. Some of my favorites are no longer on the shelves. And a few nights ago I answered your question on the snake. Because of that episode, I purchased the three lights from HSN. It can attach to the DBest Trolley and the light helps me to walk from car to the front door without a problem. At least now, if there is something amiss, I can return to the vehicle and call Wildlife for help.

Good Evening I did read your post about the snake all I can say is be careful.
I hope the lights do the trick. If you have ever seen snakes wrapped around each other
in a nest I think you would run like I did. I wrote about that years ago on this thread.
Hubby handled it and I did not ask any questions. I wish them no harm and in the future
should I see a big one I will call animal control as they are known in the Midwest to come
and get them. 😎💕

I do have security lights around my house that is how I see all the animals and I know when
to take fresh food out to them. The Racoons are the only ones I am not comfortable around.
As long as they don’t bother the other animals I will not bother them. No worries they are
big and fat and can ran faster than any animal I’ve seen.

This contains no alcohol just fresh juice. 💕😎🎈Relax with a good book and keep
warm I can’t believe I am saying that to you. Hubby will be glad to see you tomorrow. 💕

Oodie, glad you have the lights. Do you also have some pepper spray? Someone suggested I carry a hand held item that when pressed is very loud. She suggested it in case any critters were too close. I have the Pepper Spray and a Cintronella spray. Hubs got me the Citronella Spray as its for pets (critters) and not as painful for them as the pepper spray. Fortunately I haven’t used either.

The og neighbors have mostly all moved, some out of State, some to other locations ( one neighbor move to PS like your did) I like PS a lot but feel like if why move there when AZ is so close and so much less expensive for living costs. Glad your neighbor likes it.

I was up and ready with my coffee this morning. The game was great with the best hockey players in the world but very nerve-racking.😬 I didn’t even see the puck go in on the shot that was the winner. It was so fast! Hubs said that’s it, it’s over and I didn’t even realize until I saw the players ripping off their helmets. I wish I could be this happy every Sunday morning, LOL!🤣

We got about an inch or so of snow overnight. Chilly all day with flurries. I think we need to celebrate National Margarita day in honor of the USA gold.🍹 You pick the flavor.
