Conversation 27
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 27 out of the
series. I created and started this thread 10 years ago.😎🎈
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

NATIVE AMERICAN DAY
Native American Day, observed annually on the second Monday in October, celebrates the cultures and contributions of the many Native American tribes.
While it is not celebrated in all 50 states, it is recognized in both California and South Dakota and gaining popularity in the rest of the nation. In other parts of the country, Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebrations occur on this day. Events such as traditional dances, art displays and ceremonies have begun to replace Columbus Day practices.
The observance focuses on celebrating the culture, heritage, and history of tribes across the nation. Each diverse nation carries its own traditions, rituals, and beliefs. The day celebrates their knowledge, contributions and enriching heritage. It’s also a reminder of their enduring legacy of strength, energy, and fortitude.

NATIONAL ONLINE BANK DAY
On the second Monday in October, National Online Bank Day reminds us we don’t have to take it to the bank to get it to the bank. The day celebrates the advantages offered by online banks.

NATIONAL DESSERT DAY
People around the country indulge every October 14 on National Dessert Day! Celebrated by way of the local bakery, grandma’s house or chocolate shop, desserts include candies, pies, ice cream, fruits, cookies, pastries, cobblers, and donuts, too.
The available ingredients affect the range of desserts made in each region. The very first desserts required minimal effort or preparation since ancient cultures were more focused on the nutrition in foods to survive. Over the years, desserts have changed from natural candies and nuts to complex soufflés and multi-layered cakes. In modern culture, there are many more options available in desserts.
Throughout the year, we see seasonal delights. As we near the holiday season, the flavors change. For some, the taste of gingerbread or fruitcake may come to mind. Others will pull out recipes handed down for generations. Pecan, pumpkin, and apple pies come to mind. Other rich desserts round out the dessert table, too. Flan, tarts, and everything with maple glaze.

Hello Oodiebom, I am truly glad to hear from you. And that you are fine and so is your husband. Having the rehab take the patients to Orlando, moving everyone out of Manatee County and into Orange County was good and the right thing to do.
I was worried about you though, having to go to a shelter and not a far away hotel.
Oodie you say this with love and compassion even though not having met you personally.
Oodie, I don’t know your age, if you are in your sixties, seventies, eighties or older or your hubby’s age. However, we don’t get younger, and as we get older things become harder to get done. How long are you going to be able to evacuate every year and your home repaired?
Have you considered selling your houses in the North. Or one of them and having a brand new home build here in Florida. Just the way you will need for your husband to come home. You can have the bathroom, wheel chair access, floors, and outside ramp all done. Since you like Florida, its weather, and not the cold and snow you would need to deal with. Have a home build, in a area not close to a river, water or ocean. Perhaps in the middle of the state away from an evacuation area. So every time a hurricane comes through you don’t have to evacuate and you can stay in your home. Please think about it long and hard. How long into the future will you be able to go through all that again and again. As I have mentioned before, we moved to Florida in the 1980’s. And have purchased five houses all together. Three build from the ground, and two spec houses. After the first house, we always considered where on the map the homes were. No flood zone (which now days don’t mean much) and no evaluation zone. Only our first house was in a zone C. Which is in a evacuation zone, just before the intercostal bridge. We were lucky that no hurricane came through while we lived there. We didn’t know about hurricanes back than, young and unexperienced. -
Good afternoon, twins for sure!!👩❤️👩 Hope you enjoyed your BLTs, our fried baloney and egg sandwiches hit the spot. Cooking up a roast with potatoes and carrots in the crockpot today.🥔🥕 And, yes, I do like Miracle Whip. I always mix it together with mayo when I make potato or macaroni salad.
Near 80 today, 50s tomorrow. The leaves they are a fallin’ everywhere.🍁🍂 Lots of work.😣
Sending cool hugs to you and Poppy from me and Jake.🤗💖

I was so happy to see you posted yesterday and you and hubs are okay.😊 But not so much with your home.😕 That is just a material thing, you and Mr. Oodie are the utmost of importance. I have to agree with Sheba that I wish you were safe and sound up north. Florida hasn’t been kind these last couple of years. Give it some thought, maybe things would be easier on you and your husband mentally and physically. I can really understand your husband worrying when he hasn’t heard from you for days.
Good luck with the repairs and praying your power is restored sooner than later.🙏 Sending good vibes your way.🌈 Take care.💗🌹
