Hi. I’m getting ready to go to Costco and fill the tank. They have a few things that we need and are on special. This will be the last day hubby can sit behind the wheel. Just like your hubby, he has a six week wait. So, for now I will be the chauffeur for “Mr. Daisy.:

I realize you are cleaning up a storm because you expect the family to stay with you. Please, take some time for YOU. That is so important. Rest is so important for both of us. Without we will be two miserable people while the patient feels sort of OK. The showering with the special soap is necessary to keep the bacteria away. My hubby is using a liquid soap with a sponge. This might be similar to what your husband has as well. Hopefully, the nursing staff has explained all this to you.

I checked around hubby’s hospital also. There are a few, but I still would have to drive, though the ride is probably 8 minutes instead of 20. But as you say, it’s nothing like sleeping in your own bed. I’m hoping that I can redo the bed tomorrow when I return home. I intend to change the entire bed to the beach theme The mattress cover will have to be laid flat until it rises which will give hubby back support. If he is able to return home tomorrow, then I will let him lie on the couch with some pillows until the bed is done. Hubby is due at the hospital by 9am and I intend to be on the road an hour prior because of work traffic. I am bringing a book and maybe my Kindle so I can do the jigsaws and also go online. And if I do bring the Kindle I must remember to bring the cord to recharge the battery.

Following surgery, hubby will have Physical Therapy. He should be up and about an hour or two following. Therapy is just down the hall from where I will be waiting. I will also be picking up some Vitamin E cream to help with the healing and to limit the scarring. Of course that depends on the surgeon and his staff.

Take care of yourself. Don’t overdo. If you decide on renting a vehicle. Check with Enterprise only because they will bring the car to you and will pick it up at the same place. However, there are others that are less expensive and may do the same thing.

way everyday.
