Conversation – 17

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Dance with My Father
Song by Luther VandrossBack when I was a child
Before life removed all the innocence
My father would lift me high
And dance with my mother and me and then
Spin me around till I fell asleep
Then up the stairs he would carry me
And I knew for sure I was loved
If I could get another chance
Another walk, another dance with him
I’d play a song that would never ever end
How I’d love, love, love to dance with my father again, ooh
When I and my mother would disagree
To get my way I would run from her to him
He’d make me laugh just to comfort me, yeah, yeah
Then finally make me do just what my momma said
Later that night when I was asleep
He left a dollar under my sheet
Never dreamed that he would be gone from me
If I could steal one final glance, one final step
One final dance with him
I’d play a song that would never ever end
‘Cause I’d love, love, love to dance with my father again
Sometimes I’d listen outside her door
And I’d hear how my mother cried for him
I pray for her even more than me
I pray for her even more than me
I know I’m praying for much too much
But could you send back the only man she loved?
I know you don’t do it usually
But dear Lord she’s dying to dance with my father again
Every night I fall asleep and this is all I ever dream -

Hero
Song by Mariah CareyThere’s a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don’t have to be afraid
Of what you are
There’s an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away
And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you’ll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
It’s a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And that emptiness you felt
Will disappear
And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you’ll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you, oh, oh
Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don’t let anyone
Tear them away, hey yeah
Hold on
There will be tomorrow
In time you’ll find the way
And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you’ll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
That a hero lies in you
Mmm, that a hero lies in you -

I Will Remember You
Song by Sarah McLachlanI will remember you, will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories
Remember the good times that we had?
I let them slip away from us when things got bad
How clearly I first saw you smilin’ in the sun
Want to feel your warmth upon me
I want to be the one
I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories
I’m so tired but I can’t sleep
Standin’ on the edge of something much too deep
It’s funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside, but we can’t be heard
I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories
So afraid to love you
But more afraid to lose
Clinging to a past that doesn’t let me choose
Once there was a darkness
Deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had, oh you gave me life
I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories
I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories
Weep not for the memories -

Wake Me Up When September Ends
Song by Green DaySummer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Like my fathers come to pass
Seven years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends
Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are
As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when September ends
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Ring out the bells again
Like we did when spring began
Wake me up when September ends
Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are
As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when September ends
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Like my father’s come to pass
Twenty years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends
Wake me up when September ends
Wake me up when September ends -

The Living Years
Song by Mike + The Mechanics… Every generation
Blames the one before
And all of their frustrations
Come beating on your door
… I know that I’m a prisoner
To all my Father held so dear
I know that I’m a hostage
To all his hopes and fears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years
… Oh, crumpled bits of paper
Filled with imperfect thought
Stilted conversations
I’m afraid that’s all we’ve got
… You say you just don’t see it
He says it’s perfect sense
You just can’t get agreement
In this present tense
We all talk a different language
Talking in defence
… Say it loud (say it loud), say it clear (oh say it clear)
You can listen as well as you hear
It’s too late (it’s too late) when we die (oh when we die)
To admit we don’t see eye to eye
… So we open up a quarrel
Between the present and the past
We only sacrifice the future
It’s the bitterness that lasts
… So don’t yield to the fortunes
You sometimes see as fate
It may have a new perspective
On a different day
And if you don’t give up, and don’t give in
You may just be okay
… So say it loud, say it clear (oh say it clear)
You can listen as well as you hear
Because it’s too late, it’s too late (it’s too late)
When we die (oh, when we die)
To admit we don’t see eye to eye
… I wasn’t there that morning
When my Father passed away
I didn’t get to tell him
All the things I had to say
… I think I caught his spirit
Later that same year
I’m sure I heard his echo
In my baby’s new born tears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years
… Say it loud, say it clear (oh say it clear)
You can listen as well as you hear
It’s too late (it’s too late) when we die (it’s too late when we die)
To admit we don’t see eye to eye
… So say it, say it, say it loud (say it loud)
Say it clear (come on say it clear)
Say it loud
(Don’t give up, don’t give in and don’t look away ’til it’s too late)
Say it clear
Say it loud (say it loud, say it loud) -

Papa, Can You Hear Me?
Song by Barbra StreisandGod – our heavenly Father
Oh God – and my father
Who is also in heaven
May the light
Of this flickering candle
Illuminates the night the way
Your spirit illuminates my soul
Papa, can you hear me?
Papa, can you see me?
Papa, can you find me in the night?
Papa, are you near me?
Papa, can you hear me?
Papa, can you help me not be
Frightened?
Looking at the skies
I seem to see a million eyes
Which ones are yours?
Where are you now that yersterday
Has waved goodbye
And closed its doors?
The night is so much darker.
The wind is so much colder
The world I see is so much bigger
Now that I’m alone
Papa, please forgive me
Try to understand me
Papa, don’t you know I had no choice?
Can you hear me praying
Anything I’m saying
Even though the night is filled
With voices?
I remember ev’rything you thaught me
Every book I’ve ever read
Can all the words in all the books
Help me to face what lies ahead?
The trees are so much taller
And I feel so much smaller
The moon is twice as lonely
And the stars are half as bright
Papa, how I love you.
Papa, how I need you.
Papa, how I miss you
Kissing me goodnight -

Sheba, well… we have to celebrate the Queen! Every Queen needs her jubilee!
Hope it was a happy surprise! You post the best pictures. Loved the cheese and wine.
Your circling huh, let me guess, Rose All Day?It’s cooled off enough for me to hike. I have a 2 hour window before the area closes.

Oodie, thank you for the birthday wishes. It was a lovely day and I have red roses from my husband. My son, the adorable sweetheart was also here.
Wishing your husband all the best with his surgery. Hope he sails through it and is feeling better than ever. Hope you can get some rest as well, I know you will be worried.
-
Xango, sorry to hear the news. Wishing you and especially your wonderful husband the best. Hopefully this will be all over soon and life can go back to usual.

Hi again. I know you do not drive your husband’s vehicle. You may want to try renting a car while your hubby is convalescing.. A friend of ours did that last summer from the airport. Her rate was $10/wk. They did not ask for mileage. She just had to keep the gas tank filled. I have no idea what the rentals would be at the Orlando airport. There may be some new ones that are looking for customers and will bend over backwards. At least that is what I would be hoping for. Just make sure that you can get in and out without a problem and be able to reach the pedals.
Just pop in from time to time.

Hi Sheba. I’m OK. Just very tired. I must have fallen asleep during the last half hour or so during the game and awoke around 1 am. Evidently the hospital was trying to reach us during the afternoon and I didn’t check my phone until I awoke. Left two messages and this afternoon I was transferred to a supervisor who was able to give me some info. Seems that my husband could have the surgery on Monday (sorry defg, I know you like any day but Mondays) and we said yes. There was a cancellation. At least we do not have to get up in the wee hours. Must be at the hospital by 9 am. Surgery scheduled for 10:30 am. I will be glad when this whole thing is over and done with. The surgeon will most likely be with me either shortly prior to the surgery or following. At that time I will mention the call from the Radiology Department for the MRI. And will also give him the date of that appointment.
Today I am working on the MB. Have tons of boxes and papers to go through before I can really do the thorough cleaning. which includes washing the floor. Hope to finish by tomorrow. As soon as I am done, I will contact Spectrum.
Yes, I am concerned with xango. On one hand I am happy that the family is flying to be with her. On the other, I just hope it won’t add to the workload. Ii’m just wondering if it would be a good idea to rent a vehicle here. Prices are less expensive than the Northeast. Friend of ours was able to rent a vehicle for $10/week. Mileage was not included. She just had to fill the tank before flying home. I’m not sure how many weeks it will be before her hubby could sit behind the wheel.
That’s it for now. Going to work on the desk and boxes. It’s hot and muggy here. Thunderstorms expected late this afternoon.

I am so sorry that your husband needs bypass surgery. I realize you will not be driving to the hospital yourself. Will you be staying there? If not, so you don’t have to drive back and forth, the hospital does have hotels/motels nearby and the rates may be lower. Some could be within walking distance. It is something you can ask so you do not have to rely on transportation. Some of the rooms have a suite which includes a small kitchen (full refrigerator, small oven, microwave with pots and pans, silverware, dishes, etc..). I wish I could be with you, but happy that some of the family are flying in. Please, try to get some rest and make sure you stay hydrated even if food is not something you are able to do right now. Just make sure you eat something in order to sustain the energy. I know this is a scary situation, but the hospital staff will help to relieve some of the anxiety.
