To answer your question. I am tired and yet there are dishes to be done and some clothes still in the dryer, though the most important are dried and ready for the morning. Checked my Kindle and I had 30% battery left, so as I type it is being recharged. I didn’t get to Costco because hubby was hurting and I just did not want to leave him. As I said previously he will have Physical Therapy in the new medical building which houses the Physical Therapy Unit, an Out Patient Surgical area and the surgeon and their assistants along with office staff. This building is one mile from Costco and while hubby is there, I may make a run for gas. I do need things in Costco, but, will not have the time to purchase or to wait for either the self serve or register. Then again, I may wait to see how the therapy goes and if hubby is up to staying in the car, gas up on the way home. I just like to top it off when it gets close to a half a tank.

I haven’t been able to do the cleaning the way I like because hubby has been ill for a year now. He has not been the same since our trip North last year which landed him in the hospital and then rehab. As I said he spends most of the time in bed and of course wants company. The one thing I have noticed is that the memory and energy levels return when he is not in pain. Tried to mention this to the neurologist, but it went in one ear and out the other. And yes, my back has also given me problems. But I have a certain chair that I sit in until everything subsides. I also do stretching exercises that really help. I am not as nimble as I used to be, but I do try.

As of now, not sure if he will remain a patient until either Tuesday or Wednesday. Visiting hours are from 9 am to 7 pm. Well, kitchen chores beckons. The bedroom will have to wait. Take care of yourself. I will keep everyone updated. Have kindle, will travel.

As for you and your niece, I knew it was bittersweet for you, your hubby and your nieces. I know it was a difficult evening, but getting together, even for a few minutes, makes the pain easier to bear. You laugh and cry remembering the many memories that you all shared. I am glad that you got together and ate a good dinner. It’s getting close to midnight. Dishes will have to wait until tomorrow along with the MB.

Good evening I am calm I did have a good Mass this morning I am just taking it
easy right now very hot and I have a sick cat who has cancer who came to visit me.
Charlie is his name and his owner is my neighbor out back. I love Charlie we have
been friends for over a decade. ✨😘I will miss this cat when he crosses to Rainbow Bridge.

The butterflies you saw were my two Aunt I lost last year and my dad. ✨

The niece I was with lost her father last year my husband brother. ✨🌹It was bittersweet
for both of us she is back in Springfield, Missouri now.

Again, thank you for your kindness and lovely thoughts. I will be thinking of all of you on this thread and will update you as soon as I am able. The hospital does have wifi for patients and family members. I am bringing Kindle so I can do the jigsaw puzzles and rest while I wait. I have faith in this surgeon. I am positive he will be watching my hubby’s vitals very closely. His surgery is scheduled for 10:30 am. No eating or drinking after midnight. I haven’t completed the MB and have decided that it will get done, but when, who knows. The problem has been that hubby has been in so much pain with his leg and back that he spends almost all day and every day in bed. Occasionally he is up and about. The weather here between the high temps and even higher humidity makes those pains feel like a knife is digging into those areas. I just hope and pray that the pain will lessen as the days progress. Yes, he will have those pain pills prior to therapy. Also the surgeon’s office and his assistants are in the same building so if there are problems they are right across the hall. I have both a wheelchair and a walker so he will be OK. The walker will be with him during surgery and will be used to get around. I am positive that the first 24 hours will be as nothing happened. But a few hours later things will be entirely different. I hope your hubby will enjoy his long weekend of golfing and you have some time to yourself and of course to spend some hours with sis and mom. Well, it’s back to laundry for me.
Dinner for hubby is on the stove. He has less than three hours before the kitchen closes.

I forgot to ask how your birthday celebration went last night. I know it must have been bittersweet for you and your niece. I think of the time I lost my Dad. The night prior hubby and I enjoyed watching Aretha Franklin under the tent. This was a festival of sorts that ran one week and we bought tickets to everything. The weekend was “Fiddler On the Roof, ” which both of us had seen so many times and still loved the show as much as the first time. Anyway, just a few months prior my Dad’s heart was doing well. It was only working half the time and back in those days there was little or nothing that could be done. I had decided a few days prior to Aretha to make a surprise visit to my parents and I would use the day as a personal one. That morning I awoke bright and early. I think it was 5 am and I wanted to be out the door before 7am. Instead an hour later the phone rang. It was the police calling to tell me Dad had passed in the night. So instead of me surprising him, he surprised me. I sobbed bitterly for over an hour. My mom was distraught and couldn’t understand why I wasn’t there earlier. I had to be strong for her and couldn’t at that moment. He past five days following his 71st birthday and two weeks before their 42nd anniversary. I have learned through the years that it still hurts, but, yes it’s a bit easier. But, nevertheless, it still gives pain. But at least now you can really remember the fun times and some of the things that brighten your day and made whatever ailed you, seemed to pass in the night. Happy Birthday, Dear Sheba.
