Oodiebom: I’m so sorry for the setback on your husband’s surgery yet again. Maybe he forgot & that’s actually a side effect from the dimentia?? Could that be possible?

It’s 3am. I must have fallen asleep.. First thing was to check to see if you posted. Glad everything went well. It is nerve wracking for both of you. In the morning you will see a difference. You both will be able to test. The worst is behind you. Now the recoup. Please take time for yourself. At least now you can breathe easier.

I am ok. Just disheartened. Hubby thought for sure he would have the surgery. He learned. A very hard lesson. This was actually the third cancellation. The first a.sign off was needed from a cardiologist. The second was because he thought he was at the Ct. Hospital and he needed to be seen by a neurologist. The third episode was today because he went to the frig. of course he said he didn’t eat anything. He was like a child caught in a candy store. We were up around 2am the day of surgery. I decided to give him his meds at that time. He fell back to sleep while I was up for an hour or so. By the time the alarm went off I was in a sound sleep. The hospital phoned soon after inquiring if anyone reached me concerning the time for the surgery. Then instead of being ahead of schedule ran behind. Made up for it. No traffic. All lights were green. We were on time. Now you know the rest of the story. Hopefully we will have a new time and date in a few days.

Take care of yourself. Get some rest. If all is well, your hubby will be home in a few days.

I would like the thank you for all your prayers. Hubby is doing well and the operation went well. I am so grateful for all the prayers I received.

Hello Sheba, how are you doing? Thank you for your prayers. It’s been a very long day and I was exhausted when I got home. But a warm shower and a nap helped.
Hubby’s operation went well however delayed one hour. It took 4 hours then one and a half hours in recovery before we could go into the ICU-recovery room to see him.
He was still intubated, during the early morning they will wake him and remove his tube.
They will also get him up and have take a few steps. The surgeon will see him around 6AM, and then see if he can be moved into a room.
Going back to the hospital in the morning.

I am so sorry Oodie, I hope you are able to reschedule soon.
Hubby’s operation was delayed one hour. It took 4 hours and then one a half hours in recovery before we could go into the ICU-recovery room to see him.
He was still intubated, some time during to early morning they will wake him and remove his tube.
They will also get him up and have take a few steps. The surgeon will see him around 6AM, and then access the situation to see if he can be moved into a room.
Since I hardly slept last night, I was exhausted when I got home. Took a quick shower and got in bed and took a 2 hour nap.
Woke up shivering cold and had some hot soup.
Going back to the hospital in the morning.
