Conversation – 17

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

I am watching Summer Under The Stars with my husband. WE are loving the movies our
parents and grandparents watched when we were kids. I am loving Sunset Strip. The
Gloria Swanson Movie my word this woman is one of the best of her era. 😎✨William Holden was always easy on the eyes. 😜

Enjoy! 😘🌹

I am glad you enjoyed the Boat pics I knew you would feel Cape Cod in some of the pics. 😘💕
I love that part of New England and I can see how much you really miss it.I miss hearing of your travels when you and hubby went back and forth. I think you did Trivia
and then you and hubby hit the road back to the North. I wish you can still do that. 🌹✨How are you tonight Oodie? I am a wee bit under the weather same ole same ole. Yeah,
the sinus headache I just took something. OZ will be warm tomorrow. I am so glad Xango
posted last night and I was very surprised with little sleep how she sounded very encouraging.I know she will need a few days to learn so many things this is new and different. My husband
had a stent put in no triple bypass. Hubby was back to work in 10 days. ✨✨Still it was
nerve wrecking and they had someone sit with me the entire time. This was during Covid.
The night is cooling down and then we are back to the dog days of summer. 😎😎

I really enjoyed all the gifs of the sailboats. And the lighthouse reminds me of the Cape. I didn’t realize how much I miss it until I saw that pic. However, we now have quite a few great whites so swimming even on the bay side is now questionable. Hubby and I used to go on the bay side . It was the only place where you could walk out a mile or so at low tide. I loved sitting on the wet sand while dangling my feet in the water. You could also walk from one town to the next using the beach area. Many people rode on horseback. and would bring picnic lunches to the seashore. The one thing I do not miss at this time of year is the bumper to bumper traffic getting on and off the Cape. There are only two bridges and are talking about a third one. If that happens all three will be a toll including the Cape Highway. So far it has happened and I keep forgetting to ask my neighbor if anything more is being said or done.

I am hoping you are a little more relaxed today when you saw your hubby. And though he is feeling the after effects of the operation, each day will be a bit easier. I think both Shoelady and Sheba could help in this area. The most important thing I can say though, is for you to get plenty of rest and eat right. What ever you do, don’t lose patience during the convalescent time. Each person is different when they go through this type of surgery. Don’t use a time limit. Each person progresses at their own rate of speed. However, this is a good time to get him involved in reading, doing puzzles of all kinds,, newspapers, etc.. Keep the mind going. This is so important.
I hope the family is with you. If you need help in cleaning, you could make a phone call to that person again and set up a schedule. I do not have anyone where we are, but am looking. If your home has two floors, you may ask the doctors about using them in the beginning. Any questions don’t be afraid to ask anyone, even the doctors.
I purchased one of those calendars that is magnetic and I attached it to the frig so I can keep track of all the appointments. It has really come in handy. I bought this from Amazon and it came with a few pens in different colors that are erasable and also magnetic. The tips are erasers. The ink in those pens do not last too long, so I purchased others from Amazon and these are wonderful. Still on the first one out of the box and it’s been months. It also came with a nice size eraser that is magnetic as well. As soon as I have the info, it goes on the calendar.
I hope these suggestions help in some way. Or, at least, give you some ideas.
OK, weather on the Gulf. Yesterday we had a huge thunderstorm with loads of rain. This afternoon another one and this time with wind. The wind reminded me of the blizzards in New England. The rain actually looked like sleet in the wind. No tornados here. I will be doing the lanai this week and the plants that are out and getting rained on will now relocate to the lanai. These are succulents in pots and I think they are getting too much rain. I see that we will have less of a rain event the next few days because of the Sahara. The other side would be beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Above all, I cannot stress enough, take good care of yourself. Stay safe.

The sky is gray and it is very warm in the house. Hubby is doing OK.. Still thinks he didn’t nosh on anything yesterday. Just as I was about to phone the physical therapy group they called and I mentioned what happened yesterday. They will cancel all appointments. I also contacted the surgeon’s assistants and left voice mail. I will probably hear from them tomorrow and if not, will call again. I definitely would like to check on the two homes in the Northeast. During the winter months the Cape house has pipes that are exposed to the cold even though they are wrapped with insulation. The house in Ct. is something we can tolerate if need be. But for now, just want this whole thing to be over and done. Hopefully, we will get another date before Labor Day.
We need to do some marketing. For some reason hubby has a yen for winter soup. I have all the ingredients except for a few veggies (carrots, bok choy) and honeydew melon. I have the meat, though the Oriental market would be better. I also have a yen for fresh lychee nuts. There are two varieties of these. If you have never tried these they are loaded with juice. It is actually a grape. One has a huge pit inside with very little fruit, the other a nut in the middle or what is a small pit that breaks when opened, but the fruit inside very sweet and just like a grape on a vine. Rabutan is a form of lychee nut. This one has like hairs sticking out from the skin. They feel like a baby’s brush so it is not difficult to get to the fruit. Lychee is easy as well. The outer skin covers the fruit and you can peel it with your fingers. We were in Hong Kong one time when we ran out of bottled water. That’s when we discovered Lychee Nuts. They were very inexpensive. I like to say $.10 per stalk which was enough to get us going and then some. Supermarkets should have them in stock now through the beginning of September. Guess tomorrow we will go to the Farmer’s Market and Thursday, Costco. And speaking of Costco, gas prices are now down to $3.68 for regular. This is not the price you will see at the wholesale clubs.
Yes, today feels like Tuesday. I think I lost a little more than half a day yesterday. Got a pretty good night’s sleep. Oh before I forget. When I made the call to the surgeon’s assistants, I also suggested an overnight prior to surgery. That way he will be monitored closely and won’t be able to raid the refrigerator after midnight. This was one reason why I made a late dinner with dessert at 9 pm. Hubby’s memory is intact. I think he felt one or two bites of something would not hurt him. He would have done this regardless. I swear, sometimes, he is testing my patience.
House is calling for some work to be done. No storm right now. Shower first. Then work. Have a good evening and enjoy your walk with Poppy. Stay safe.

I did see Xango’s posts, very happy all went well. I’m sure he’ll do rehab so the next few weeks will be physically hard but her mental stress will be better and he will be getting stronger.🤞
Not much happening, ran errands most of the morning. Husband getting together with the gym friends so no cooking for me today, yay!😊 I have a little leftover chili for dinner.
Hope you have some cooler temps so you and Poppy can enjoy your walks.👣🐾💕

@Sheba
My husband, who used to own a Harley, said yep, I totally get this. He also added that the wife can find her way back home, the Harley can’t!🤣😂🤣😂
I remember when he bought it – told me it was so expensive because he got everything he wanted on it. Then every month after there was something new added. His cycle cost more than one of my cars!!!😲
