Hi. I know you must be exhausted and I hope mom has found something she loves and can sit in comfortably. Funny, when you mentioned that she cannot pick anything out on line, I more or less agreed. You need to sit in it and make sure that you and everyone else can get to a standing position without any problems. For your info, I did go on line to the stores around me to see if there was anything worth looking at. And, I found a few. We started with one store not far from us that had some possibilities and they did. The first store we popped into was where we found the sofa and two loveseats along with a boudoir chair. The boudoir chair I am still waiting for I even have a small bookcase that would be perfect sitting next to it (small in that it folds up and is metal, three shelves). But right now, I am in the kitchen and work on the bedroom an hour or so per night going through tons of papers and boxes sitting next to me. A huge, cluttered, awful mess. This is one time I wish I had Mr. Clean helping me. Those muscles sure would come in handy. Hmmm……….

I hope someday you will have another pet, maybe a rescue. I have seen some pretty cute videos of labs that are so special and oh so much fun. Just remember you are not replacing Jake, but maybe getting him a brother or sister that he would have adored. When you are ready, I would not be surprised if there will be something waiting in the wings with Jake’s OK.

Hope you both are feeling better. Please do not rush to do anything for a few more days. Give yourself a time to recover and to regain strength.

On another note. I am looking at bed rails for the time being. I still believe hubby may have the beginnings of Parkinsons, but since the doctors feel that he doesn’t and won’t humor me with any tests, rather than have hubby fall after surgery, I will take the road to prevention. Funny, everything I have read says not to with Parkinsons. I have no idea why. Anyway, that’s the decision I need to make for his safety. Thanks so much for your concern.

I spent part of the weekend enjoying the sales on line and then comparing prices on various web sites. The lanai is now complete. Well, will be by Friday and on the day of hubby’s surgery. I ordered two rugs. One for the appetizer area and the other for the sit and chat area. Both rugs have ocean themes. The one in the chat area will be in the blue shade with white threads going through it that makes the rug look like the ocean with the white being the foam. Hopefully, it will be a comfy rug in that you can sink your feet into. This one I ordered in round so that the chairs can bolter the edges. The other rug is a rectangle in the Caribbean colors of the ocean with the waves hitting the tan colored sand. In a sense it could be the Cape, but on the other hand, the Cape doesn’t come close to the colors. This rug is an artist design. This one I was hoping it would have been round because my table has glass and as you peer down you would think you were at the ocean’s edge. Since this one was not made in the round, I am hoping that the rectangle will have the same effect.

Tomorrow the new landscaper will be here to tear the side of the house apart. The front of the house I worked off and on due to the extreme heat and humidity. I think I heard someone say that today’s temp was equal to 105 degrees. I have noticed that our homes North have been in the 80s during the day and in the low 60s at night. Tonight, as I type, it is 62 in Harwich which is only 5 miles from our home. With the sea breeze, my sliders would be opened in the Master Bedroom along with a window. However, the Cape is experiencing a drought situation which I hope will change in the next few weeks.

Reluctantly, I am now back doing the kitchen chores. I am debating about a new refrigerator since there are markings on the front that I have no idea where it came from. There is a sale in Lowe’s and Home Depot and appliance stores all around. Last months sales were better, but I wasn’t thinking about a new frig at the time. Hubby wants to tackle the inside and outside of the frig. I’ll let him give it a try and see what happens since whatever I used still left a question mark. I’m hoping we can hold off until Columbus Weekend or Armistice Day when the sales could be better since the stores will be making openings for the new due in December.

Oh yes, now have a desk that I can work on and the boxes and papers lining the floor next to me are slowly dwindling. I feel like I am on the moon where it is “one small step for mankind.”
