NATIONAL WHISKEY SOUR DAY
On August 25, people across the United States observe National Whiskey Sour Day. Join us as we shake things up a bit with this adult mixed beverage.
Traditionally garnished with half an orange and a maraschino cherry, a whiskey sour is a mixed drink containing whiskey (often bourbon), lemon juice, and sugar. Whiskey sours are shaken then either served straight or over ice.

NATIONAL BANANA SPLIT DAY
National Banana Split Day recognizes the sweet ice cream treat served with a banana, whipped cream, and various toppings. Get yours on August 25!
Originally served in drug stores, soda fountains, and ice cream parlors, the banana split is traditionally served in a long dish called a boat. To make a banana split, cut the banana lengthwise and place it in the dish. Then add scoops of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream between the slices of banana. Each scoop gets a topping; add crushed pineapple to the strawberry, drizzle chocolate syrup over the vanilla, and add strawberry topping to the chocolate. Next, sprinkle with crushed nuts. Finally, garnish with whipped cream and maraschino cherries.

I just arrived home after visiting hubs. I ordered a dinner as well at the rehab. It was a bad meal and of course I had a reaction. Thank goodness for Benedryl. Hubs was having a meal in the TV room with another patient. It was nice seeing them having a lively conversation.
Because of the heat and humidity in the house I now have mold in the kitfhen in every cabinet. This is the only room that is in this condition. Tomorrow I will start the cfleaning process and redoing all cabinets inside and out. The ceiling was not affected but the walls were. I will be masking up as I tackle the problem.
A/C is working well. I contacted the HVAC people about a humidistat. They will be contacting our electrical company to get the right fit. Their team will be at our home in September to do the hookups. Hopefully, this will eliminate the higher costs.
