Conversation 29
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 29 out of the
series. I created and started this thread 11 years. 😎🎈
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

Peace Out Peeps enjoy your evening. 😎

Good day in beautiful Florida. I hope you are enjoying this nice Spring Day. 🎈😎💕
I appreciate your post and kind thoughts. I am getting there just taking it one day
at a time I have been saying that for a while and I mean it. 💕😎🎈Oz is beautiful today after a nice rainfall during the night. 😎
-
Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 🎈💕Oodie my head feels better today.
I hope you are able to get all your shopping done.OZ is nice today after the rain and I see the trees and flowers beginning to bloom. 💕😘
A couple of my niece and nephew have a birthday today so the family is celebrating. 🎈😎
Thank you again for all your support and understanding. 😘💕
I hope today you have a great visit with your husband.
-
I try not to shop on the weekends. Long lines, no parking, etc. etc.. However, I may visit Sam’s Club tomorrow to look at planters and soil. I will be redoing the front of the house during the week. Most of our plants need watering. However, I am thinking about using container plants and some for the soil. Time to make a few changes.
I am finally able to use the dishwasher. Such a nice feeling. However, I, again, will be redoing all the cabinets since the dishwasher has a sanitize button. Oh, what fun 🙄🙄🙄. Clean Boss will again come to the rescue.
Hubby was asleep when I arrived late yesterday afternoon. However, I did make a little bit of noise and he opened his eyes and was all smiles. I made a baked potato for him and brought a
fish filet along with ice cream. He mentioned that “I was spoiling him.” But the amount of food he receives is not enough to feed my hubby. He ate the ice cream, tried the fish, and forgot I also brought a baked potato. Our favorite aide is working elsewhere in the Rehab. There are very few male aides, LPNs and RNs..I surmise this is one of the reasons why he is being moved to different areas.Friday night I had some health issues while at the rehab. Hubby’s roommate was giving us a hard time saying for me to go home. I finally had enough and in a nice way , told him off. Hubby was amazed. I left after 11pm. To my amazement I saw a helicopter high in the sky as I walked to my car. It followed me home and didn’t leave until I started walking to my front door. I do not know if one of the nurse’s contacted the sheriff’s office or if my neighbor who works part time with them was concerned when I hadn’t arrived home before 10pm. . Whoever did so, it actually made me feel safer. The rehab is in a bad area and you can hear gun shots on the weekend.
It is a sunny day with temps in the low 70s as I type. Tomorrow we will be in the 80s. Just hope the humidity will remain low. Pollen count is very high.
Prayers for your SIL. May she start feeling a bit better as each day passes.
-
WHAT!! I can’t believe he told you to go home. Oodie if I was there he would eat those
words. Oodie your husband has been there too long how dare he say go home. After I put him in his place he may wish to run home. I don’t like this and I don’t like
rude people.I will write later this really bugs me. Who do he think he is?
I am glad you stayed never let anyone run you off that is your husband and it’s called
respect!I need to log off now. Oodie have a good day. Glad the dishwasher is working. I am going
check my stash of Clean Boss and make sure I have plenty. 😎 -

Afterglow
Song by INXSHere I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divides the thorns from the roses
It’s you and the roses
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go, I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I’m living in your afterglow
Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who owns tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I’m caught in your shadow, I’m losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go, I will find my way
I will sacrifice ’til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I’m living in your afterglow
When the veils are gone, as I let you go, as I let you go
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go, I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I’m living in your afterglow
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divides the thorns from the roses
It’s you who is closest

Good day in beautiful Florida. 💕🎈😎Thank you for your post from last night.
So far OZ is beautiful today but tomorrow is another story.I appreciate the kind thoughts about my family. We are taking it one day at a time.
I hope this day finds you and hubby having a wonderful day. 😎🎈💕
I have been out walking in the sun trying to clear my head and settle my heart. 💕
Time heals all wounds. -
Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 💕🎈I am pretty sure this will be a busy
day for you.Oodie thank you for your understanding and support during this very difficult time.
I appreciate you taking the time to help me through this process called life.I am so glad you got to see your husband I can’t wait until your home is finished
and he is there. 🎈💕😎😘Hubby and I plan to get out for a bit and do some things. 😎💕 I am not going to plant
just yet OZ weather is iffy and they say don’t plant until next month.Again thank you for your kindness. 😘💕😎
-
I see you are keeping busy. Me, I goofed off today. Now getting ready to see hubby. I will be bringing him some fish with mashed potatoes. At this point I’m not sure if I will puree them. Fish is soft and easy to chew without teeth. While at Aldi’s yesterday, I picked up some ice cream treats and other things. I had a freezer bag and freezer paks with me. Everything was still frozen when I arrived at the rehab about a half hour later. Hubby chose the ice cream on a stick and it was so good, he had another. When I returned home, everything was still frozen. That was 7 or 8 hours later. I purchased these bags at Sam’s Club and Costco. Best part is using these bags with the “trolley.” Only heavy lifting is either from a passenger seat or the trunk to the trolley. That trolley sure comes in handy.
Before I forget. Joy will be on with Clean Boss as a TS for Sunday. The price they are showing is $8 more. I have a feeling that the mop will be the special. I still have a few bottles left at the lower price so may skip over them this time around.
Looks like your SIL is starting to turn the corner. However, just like Covid she will have good and bad days. Normal for this type of surgery. As I said previously, there are a couple of new meds out that are promising for pancreatic cancer. I just do not know if they have been approved by the FDA. These meds were tried in England and they seem to be doing the job. That’s all I can say at the moment.
If it’s any consolation, I had a cousin who past in his 40s. It was very unexpected. He was getting out of his car in the parking lot for work and collapsed. He was gone before his body hit the pavement. He passed from an embolism that no one knew he had. No black and blue marks. Nothing. This happened many years ago. Both his parents and our grandparents were alive then. Our entire family was devastated. I hope your mom is OK. That’s my concern now.
-
Good evening I am very sorry about your relative that is so sad.
I am healing and dealing with whatever comes my way.I have a headache so I am going to chill a bit.
Thank you for being here. 😘💕
-
Good night. May you have a better day tomorrow. Enjoy your bath. I would play around with some bubbles.

Hi in Oz. I hope you had a good day or as good as can be.😊 I shuffled my way around the house, hung a couple window toppers and tried not to fall off the step stool ladder. My knees are really hurting from yesterday.☹🦵 Good excuse to do next to nothing.

Jeff Buckley Lyrics
“Hallelujah”
(originally by Leonard Cohen)Well, I heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don’t really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this:
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing HallelujahHallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah…
Well your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the HallelujahHallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah…
Well, baby, I’ve been here before
I’ve seen this room and I’ve walked this floor (you know)
I used to live alone before I knew ya
And I’ve seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It’s a cold and it’s a broken HallelujahHallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah…
Well, there was a time when you let me know
What’s really going on below
But now you never show that to me, do ya?
But remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was HallelujahHallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah…
Maybe there’s a God above
But all I’ve ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya
And it’s not a cry that you hear at night
It’s not somebody who’s seen the light
It’s a cold and it’s a broken HallelujahHallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah…
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah…
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah -
“Yesterday” The Beatles
Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away.
Now it looks as though they’re here to stay.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.Suddenly, I’m not half the man I used to be.
There’s a shadow hanging over me.
Oh, yesterday came suddenly. Why she had to go?
I don’t know, she wouldn’t say.
I said something wrong.
Now I long for yesterday.Yesterday love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday. Why she had to go?
I don’t know, she wouldn’t say.
I said something wrong.
Now I long for yesterday.Yesterday love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.Mm mm mm mm mm mm mm.

The Beatles Lyrics
“In My Life”There are places I’ll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remainAll these places had their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I’ve loved them allBut of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something newThough I know I’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you moreThough I know I’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you moreIn my life I love you more

The Beatles Lyrics
“Eleanor Rigby”Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely peopleEleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near
Look at him working, darning his socks in the night when there’s nobody there
What does he care? All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely peopleEleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was savedAll the lonely people
(Ah, look at all the lonely people)
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
(Ah, look at all the lonely people)
Where do they all belong? -
Nowhere Man
Song by The BeatlesHe’s a real nowhere man
Sitting in his nowhere land
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody
Doesn’t have a point of view
Knows not where he’s going to
Isn’t he a bit like you and me?
Nowhere man please listen
You don’t know what you’re missing
Nowhere man, the world is at your command
He’s as blind as he can be
Just sees what he wants to see
Nowhere man, can you see me at all
Nowhere man don’t worry
Take your time, don’t hurry
Leave it all ’til somebody else
Lends you a hand
Ah, la, la, la, la
Doesn’t have a point of view
Knows not where he’s going to
Isn’t he a bit like you and me?
Nowhere man please listen
You don’t know what you’re missing
Nowhere man, The world is at your command
Ah, la, la, la, la
He’s a real nowhere man
Sitting in his nowhere land
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody -

“A Hard Day’s Night”It’s been a hard day’s night, and I’ve been working like a dog
It’s been a hard day’s night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alrightYou know I work all day to get you money to buy you things
And it’s worth it just to hear you say you’re going to give me everything
So why on earth should I moan, cos when I get you alone
You know I feel OKWhen I’m home everything seems to be right
When I’m home feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeahIt’s been a hard day’s night, and I’ve been working like a dog
It’s been a hard day’s night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright owwwSo why on earth should I moan, cos when I get you alone
You know I feel OKWhen I’m home everything seems to be right
When I’m home feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeahIt’s been a hard day’s night, and I’ve been working like a dog

NATIONAL FRAGRANCE DAY
Spring is now in the air, and so is National Fragrance Day. Each year on March 21st, let your favorite scents lift your mood or carry you to another place.
Have you ever been transported back in time simply by catching the scent of a loved one’s perfume? Or perhaps it was the smell of baby powder on a newborn that sent you reeling back to the days when your child was an infant. Maybe it was a combination of ginger and molasses, and suddenly you were in your grandmother’s kitchen.
Whatever the fragrance, scents, and memory are powerfully linked. We associate summer with the smell of freshly cut grass, thunderstorms with the smell of the damp air, and the acrid scent of sulfur when lightning has struck. We often connect memories of winter holidays with warm spiced pies and cookies.
-

-
NATIONAL FRENCH BREAD DAY
National French Bread Day bakes up a delicious celebration enjoyed by millions across the United States each year on March 21st.
French bread, also known as a baguette, is a long thin loaf made from basic lean dough. Its length and its crisp crust define it. Over time, French law has established what is and what is not a baguette. In 1920, a labor law prevented bakers from starting their day before 4 a.m. Bread makers know that breadmaking is a tactile industry. The kneading and resting of the dough are just as important as the ingredients. When the law limited their day, the bakers knew their product so well they adjusted by re-shaping their loaves of bread. The long, narrow loaves baked more quickly and evenly. As a result, patrons found the new loaves more convenient for slicing and storing.
These sturdy loaves make delicious sandwiches, but they also go well with any soup. Any leftover bread makes delicious French toast, too!
The French are known for their high standards where culinary arts are concerned. To preserve quality in their bread, laws were passed requiring minimum quantities of certain quality ingredients in each loaf of bread.
-
NATIONAL COMMON COURTESY DAY
National Common Courtesy Day on March 21st serves as a reminder of the behavior that keeps society from melting into a sea of madness. In addition, the day brings awareness to how crucial common courtesy is in our lives and provides examples to help us improve.

Good day in Florida. Oz is dreary today very cloudy and windy. Xango I started this thread
this time eleven years ago. So I am into my eleventh year. 😎🎈💕Still Spring is beautiful enjoy your day.
-
@sheba2011 🌹🌹🌹
Hello Sheba 🌹 Congratulations. Eleven years is a long time. Your dedication is definitely appreciated.
I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. Your family certainly has gone through a lot.
I hope and pray for your SIL to get better with each day.
We have been getting some real Spring days and cool nights. Only thing is a Red Flag Alert due to being so dry. The temperature yesterday (3/21) was in the high 60’s and the night is in the low 40’s. After Sunday we will be back into the mid 80’s during the day.
The bunnies have been coming around for their daily meal.Sending prayers to your entire family along with a huge hug for you ❤️.
-
Thank you. 💕😘
-
Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 💕😎🎈Oodie I did read your post from yesterday.
I had a lot going on but first thank you for your support and kind words. 😘I know your plate is full too but yesterday my SIL had a very high temp and they were
trying to control it with meds she is stable now. I don’t know how to say this but I lost
my first cousin yesterday he passed in his sleep from a brief illness. My entire family
is devastated. I did not post last night I was overwhelmed. I know everyone is fighting some
kind of battle. I think 2025 is off to a tough start for my family. We are praying and standing
together. I think losing my cousin just came out of no where he had no health issues.
Just a brief illness and was gone. My he RIP we loved him so. 💕I am doing alright just keeping busy and trying to eat something.
Oodie how are you and hubby doing? OZ is alright just a bit cloudy and windy.
Again thank you for all your support over all these years. 🎈😘
-
I did read that many who have this type of surgery do go through a process with high temps. The main concern is sepsis which can be controlled with meds. Most of this also is the immune system trying to do it’s job.. This is a difficult process, and she will remain in ICU until she is strong enough to go to a regular room. The normal stay is 8-12 days from the day of surgery.
So sorry to hear about your cousin. Never easy to lose someone so young and so close,
especially when it’s not expected. It is extremely hard to take and often we ask WHY?? I wish I could get to your home in person to be at your side. Suffice to say that this thread, in some ways, can answer that call.I did see hubby yesterday. He was all smiles. He is having problems with short term memory. The aides along with occupational therapy are helping him. Will see how the next few weeks go.
I sincerely hope that by your SIL comes through this difficult period with flying colors. I am sure they are using antibiotics to combat the infection. I will continue with the prayers. Take care of yourself. Congratulations on so many years doing this thread.. A job well done.
-
Good evening and thank you for such a thoughtful and beautiful post to me.
Oodie you right about everything concerning the surgery. Today SIL had a blood
transfusion and is doing well tonight. ❤️❤️ I know she will be in the Hospital
for at least two weeks. No rush I just want her well and I want them to cover every
bone in her body. The kids are worried my brother is worried and I am out of it. I don’t like to dwell on
things like this I try to forge on.I just want to thank you for your kind words especially when you are dealing with a lot
yourself. I would so love to have a cup of tea with you. 😘💕Oodie enjoy your evening I am going to lay down a bit.
-
Blood transfusions are a normal process in most cases. You have to remember that the surgeons removed part of the pancreas, lower intestine and a few other things. This means that the body needs to make some necessary changes. It’s also a period when the patient looses a lot of weight. However, the best part is as they heal and learn what foods they can tolerate, the energy level does come back. The immune system will actually start healing the wounds and will help with the adjustment period. The first one to five days are the hardest. After that the family will notice some changes. More smiles, less frowns. I feel she is in good hands. It just takes time for everything to come together. Her body has been through a lot. Chemo, tests, more tests, etc. etc.. The body has been pushed and shoved and then some all prior to the surgery. Take care of yourself and best to your brother and the kids.
-
Good morning in S. California. 🎈💕😎I hope this Friday is a good for you.
I have a lot going on so it’s one day at a time for me.My SIL had a high temp and is still in ICU she is stable. I lost my close cousin yesterday
he passed in his sleep from a brief illness. I am speechless. We had to tell our mother
and that is so sad. I am taking baby steps. What does not kill you makes you stronger. 😎
Happy and healthy trails. 🎈
-
Sheba, you do have a lot to handle.
Sincerely sorry for the loss of your cousin. I know what you mean about telling your Mother.Hope your SIL is feeling better with each day.
We had a little scare today as Hubs thought he lost his cell phone Mtn Biking and he had done a long ride. We all went back to look for the cell phone. Hubs and son took off on their bikes to look , so I decided to walk the parking lot and search the car. I found it in the trunk of the car which was unusual but luckily it worked out. It was a big relief for him. We couldn’t track the phone because it shut down and turned off due to the heat. Imagine that? It was really hot there even for me.
-
Good evening and thank you for your post I am glad everything turned out in finding
your husband’s phone. I know things happen.SIL is in stable condition and that is all that we are praying for. 💕
-
Good day in the ‘burgh. 🎈😎😘Lady thank you for such a beautiful post to me yesterday.
I so appreciated it more than you know.I had a day yesterday and will continue until I let it go. My SIL had a very high temp but
she is stable now. I got a phone call early that I lost my close cousin in his sleep due to
a short illness. I still did the thread through the shock and tears. This is why I do what I do
what I do. This takes my mind to another place until I can gasp what is happening.I appreciated the way you wrote your post no one knows what is like to be me. 😎
I do my best everyday here in the HSN Community. Lady this is the day I started this
journey creating this thread it was eleven years ago. 😎💕I am staying strong and helping my family go through all that we are traveling through.
I hope I am making sense.I know it’s Mom Friday. 💕😎😘Lady hug your mom a little tighter today.
Sending tight hugs to you and Jake. 😎💕😘
-
My Lord, how much can one family take? I am very sorry about the sudden death of your cousin. No words can help, just time.😥 Glad your SIL is stable. She had a lot done during surgery so stable is a good thing.
Congrats on 11 years and being so dedicated.👍 I understand this is like therapy for you but it also takes time and work. I admire you immensely.✨😊✨
I am zapped from mom Friday. All I did today was get in and out of my car – four different times at her house, twice down the street for mail, twice at the hair salon, and twice at two grocery stores. I hope I can get out of bed tomorrow.😮
Lots of love and hugs to your entire family.🤗💖
-
Good Evening I think you figured me out LOL!. I do this thread off the top of my head.
The only inspiration I have our my memories all my music are from life. 💕My parents
loved music and dance and that is what I know.My cousin sudden passing broke my heart when we had to tell my mom.
I hate to write it but SIL had to have blood transfusion due to low blood level.
Still in stable condition the kids are doing alright. I check in with them every night. This is a road I have to managed to go down. A bit much but that’s life.
Thank you for understanding and yes this thread does take time and thoughtfulness
I do this off the top my head and I do it at the speed that I type. There are so many steps
is where the time comes in the thoughts and the look is in my head. 😘😎Love you. 💕❤️
Goodnight sweet dreams. 😘

NATIONAL RAVIOLI DAY
March 20th celebrates a fun-filled and versatile pasta. National Ravioli Day is a food holiday for pasta lovers! So pick your favorite filling and sauce and cook up a meal everyone will love!
Ravioli are a traditional Italian-filled pasta. Pasta makers fill two layers of thin egg pasta dough with various ingredients. Imagine a small meatball tucked, snug inside two cozy layers of delicious dough. That’s what ravioli is. Some of the fillings include, cheese, meat, vegetables and seasonings. They also usually serve the ravioli in either a broth or with a pasta sauce.
While ravioli often serves as the main course, it can also be a side dish or appetizer. Many popular recipes bake or deep fry the ravioli. The dish also quickly becomes a dessert with chocolate added to the pasta or cream cheese stuffing and a caramel sauce!
Ravioli can be homemade or purchased fresh or frozen in grocery stores. In the United States, Chef Boyardee popularized canned ravioli. This ravioli is filled with beef or processed cheese and served in a tomato, tomato-meat, or tomato-cheese sauce.

Spring begins on the March or vernal equinox, which is when the amount of sunshine is approximately 12 hours long. The amount of sunlight will incrementally increase until the first day of Summer.
The vernal equinox marks the moment the sun crosses the celestial equator. This is the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator, from south to north. The vernal equinox happens on March 19, 20, or 21 every year in the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere, this same event marks the beginning of fall. Meteorologists mark the spring from March 1 through May 31st.
In 2020, spring arrived a little earlier due to it being a leap year. On Leap Day, there’s a short math lesson regarding the Gregorian calendar. To keep our calendar following the seasons so that spring happens when flowers grow and winter arrives when snow falls, an additional day was figured into years divisible by the number four. This caused the 2020 spring to occur earlier than any living human being alive had ever seen. Before 2020, the earliest spring on record took place in 1896.

@Oddiebom,
Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😎🎈Wishing you a very Happy Spring.💕
Spring is here at last and OZ is beautiful well we have the Sun.
Enjoy this day with your husband.
-
Today was garbage and recycle. This kept me busy most of the am.. The temp. right now is 73 degrees and it will probably just go up a notch or two. Tonight will be in the low 6 0s, Tomorrow a different story. Temps will have a hard time getting out of the 60s. That’s OK with me being a New England person. By the way, I think I told you of a blizzard many years ago on Mother’s Day. I called mom to say we wouldn’t be able to see her and why. She didn’t believe me until she saw the news on TV.. And, as you know, one never knows what is in store for us in the spring months.
Your SIL will probably remain in ICU for the next few days. She will be monitored very closely. However, visitors, including immediate, family will be limited.. I usually bring a book or something to do in the waiting room until permitted to visit once again. I know you are concerned and worried. Try to get some rest and enjoy the sunshine. This, too, shall pass.

The Beatles Lyrics
It’s been a hard day’s night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright
You know I feel alright

Good day in very sunny Florida at the moment OZ is raining and that will turn to snow
later today. Never a dull moment in OZ. 😎 -
Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Oodie as you know this is a very stressful day
for me. This is how I handle certain kinds of stress I just keep busy. 😎I found out through my brother not only are they removing part of her pancreas but
also her gallbladder and the stent. SIL has been in surgery since 6:00 a.m. I just got a text
from family member at the hospital that she is now in recovery. We are all saying prayers.Oodie thank you and all the girls for your support I will not know much until they go over
all the medical and labs reports. I have been on the phone with family members and I am
just out of it. I know This Too Shall Pass. 💕Oodie how are you doing? I don’t see why your husband can’t have a Yukon Gold Potato.
Strange how they can see that but not his missing personal things. I wish I could fly up
there and punch some lights out. 😎 I know you don’t like to do that you get more bees with
honey. Oodie this is just plain messed up. I wish they see all the things they go on with your
husband. I think you know what is best for him and you will not do any harm.Let me know how things go for you today. I am in a peaceful mood now that she is in Recovery.
Oz is raining right now and then we will have some snow. 😎 -
The long surgery may be a good thing. At least you know what the surgeons did. It will probably take a few days before you and the family know the results of the surgery. Those days will be just as difficult as waiting for the surgery. My prayers for a good outcome are being sent as I type. I surmise that the other organs were also checked as they went along. I surmise your daughters are with your brother. Your SIL is in good hands and will probably be in ICU for a few days.
I did not visit hubby yesterday. I breathed a sigh of relief when I made it home. The night prior I had just a few hours of sleep. I thought I would take a short nap. Well, that short nap went until 9pm last night.
I have the name of the new administrator and in a nice way I will inform her of hubby’s lost of glassses and other things as well. I do not like the idea that he cannot have solid foods or almost solid foods. He has lost some bottom teeth due to not brushing. I wish the aides< LPNa and RNs would notice these things. I will be contacting the dentist here for an appointment. I do not trust the doctors at the Rehab.
I am going to Costco. Need quite a few things and then some. Picking up something for hubby and the staff as well. I have a salad in the frig all set to go. Get some rest, if you can. I hope and pray that everything will be OK.. Remember that there is new medication for pancreatic cancer.. Fingers crossed and prayers still being sent.
-
Good evening it’s been a long hard day. I am taking some peace time tonight. 💕😘
I hope you got to see your husband. I do like your way of thinking the more bees with
honey. I am the type of person I will knock some lights out. I can’t help it I loathe rude
people and sneaky too. Oodie they are watching you instead of watching the person
with the hands taking things that don’t belong to them. I don’t like people who steal.I think I will jump in the shower and I will feel better.
Enjoy your evening.
-
Good morning in S. California. 😎💕🎈Thank you for thinking of my family.
My SIL is out of a six hour surgery and is in the Recovery Room now.All the family is there and just waiting for some results so far so good. Taci they also
took her Gallbladder and the Stent out. This is major surgery and she is going to
hurt like nothing on earth. I had a Gallbladder Surgery and it was not good. I was in
the hospital for 8 days and I had a lot of support in the HSN Community. I was seeing
purple and the pain was insane. I pray they give her something that will take away that
kind of pain. I will know more later on.Hey wishing you happy trails. 😎🎈
-
Sheba, Glad your SIL made it through her major surgery. Sucks. I know. If this helps, my hubs gall bladder surgery wasn’t nearly as painful as yours. He was in and out in 1 day and the pain was referral pain later in the night. Your surgery sounds major as well and 8 days is a long time in the hospital in CA. Sorry you were in so much pain. Couldn’t they give you meds for it?
Here’s hoping the best for your SIL. -
Sheba, fyi only
I continue to have some issue with the HSN web site, in addition to the header issue and logging in and out issues. Beware. It just defaulted the “notify me of email replies” button below and sent me 2 emails from your thread but not my posts…..Have a good evening.
-
Good evening you don’t remember that surgery? I was in the hospital for eight days and I
was on morphine. Oh they gave me something for sure I was in a purple haze. Some of the girls on the jewel thread made a thread to welcome me back into the
community. I survived and I have not had any issues I never gain weight. 😎My SIL surgery is no joke either and this will be long road to recovery. I am thankful
she is sleeping my family’s faith is keeping us grounded. 💕I am having a little fun with the Beatles one of my brothers said he had a long day’s night.
I thought of that song LOL!We are snowing and hopefully this is the last of this weather. Wishful thinking.
-
Sheba, Yes, I do remember for sure. Just your surgery sounds like it was extensive in addition to your SIL’s. Sorry if I confused you.
-
No problem it was Cindy819 who started the thread. She said on the day I was released
that I was busting out and she was right.I would not wish that episode on anyone. My SIL is ten times what I went through.
I hope nothing is going on with the HSN Site. I am going to shut down.
Goodnight. 😎
-
Good day in the ‘burgh. 🎈😎💕I hope you are rested and at least enjoyed the Hockey
Game. 😎🎈I know this is a Mom Day. 💕😘
I am a bit overwhelmed throughout the day. SIL Surgery lasted six hours and she is now
in Recovery. All the family is waiting and praying. 💕I did not find out until last night they took her Gallbladder and the Stent out. I am sure
they are waiting on medical and lab reports. Will fill you in more as I know more. I am going to just breathe for now.
Lady today is the last day of this brutal winter and OZ is snowing. I have never seen a
winter like this in OZ.Sending warm hugs to you and Jake. 💕🎈😎

Thinking of you all day, take all the time you need to wind down. Sounds like she had the Whipple surgery which involves rearranging things. Continued prayers, hugs and love.🙏🤗💗

Good day in Florida wishing you and hubs a nice afternoon. 😎🎈
Oz is nice today but we will have a wee bit of snow tomorrow. 😎
-
Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😎🎈💕I have had a busy morning doing laundry
and this and that.Oodie tomorrow my SIL will have her cancer surgery this will last from 4-8 hours.
Prayers are appreciated. I am concerned for the kids and everyone is stepping up.Oodie I hope everything is alright and no headache or back issues. I know you are excited
about the renovations and the thought of your husband finally coming home. 💕🎈😎We all will be happy the day he gets home. 💕
-
Just returned from the doctor’s appointment. The labs were through the roof. He was absolutely speechless. The last appointment was really good, but this one went above and beyond. Andrew’s vitamins may be the reason.
We have had two days with heavy wind. I think I read where a tornado touched down in Florida, just not sure where. We also have an alert for rip current and to swim where there is a life guard present. Since my buddy is in rehab, I guess I will skip the beach (LOL).
Yesterday, I was able to leave the house early. Aldi’s was at the top to do list, but I ended up at the Farmer’s Market. I picked up a couple of heads of cabbage for $.25/lb ea.. As I went down the water and soda aisle, a person was giving samples of corned beef and cabbage. Wow !!! They had a complete dinner at their take out section. I could not turn it down. The one thing I actually wanted were the pistachio muffins. None in sight. So disappointed. Their take out area and their bakery area is nothing to sneeze at. Not having to read the ingredient labels is something I can forget to do. Cannot wait to take hubby to this store.
I made hubby a mashed Yukon Gold Potato with some of the greens from a scallion and cut up parsley. He loved it. But I got chewed down by the LPN on duty who said it was a no no. Gee whiz, a mashed potato with sour cream and the added scallion grees and parsley??? This is going too far overboard. Oh well, once the ramp is in place and the bathroom is handicapped accessible, I won’t have to worry any longer. Yes, I will puree foods if need be. Yes, I will make smoothies, etc. etc..
It’s been a wonderful day thus far. The sun is out. No clouds. Temp is 73 as I type but will be in the high 40s to low 50s tonight. I will be stopping at Costco and then Culver’s for their vanilla custard for hubby. To celebrate my doctor’s visit will have them include hot fudge. None for me. I have something else for dessert. Plums and a cut up watermelon.
I will be praying for your SIL tomorrow. Long process. I am sure the surgeons will be looking at every organ, nook and cranny. Hopefully, there will be good vibes and good news when all is said and done. I know you will be worried and can see you pacing the floor waiting for the answers. I will be there with you in spirt. Take care. As the saying goes, “this, too, shall pass. “
-
Good morning in S. California. 💕😎🎈Oz is beautiful today and tomorrow we will have
a bit of snow. LOL! Taci in fact we can snow right into the first week of May.I hope you see this along the way. 😎
Happy and safe trails. 🎈💕
-
Sheba, I thought Oz was too far towards the South for all that cold weather.
Yes, to answer your question, the green of Heidi set does look close to our birthstone which I Love.
Best wishes for the surgery to be over with and in the past. Hope your SIL recovers quickly. -
Good day in the ‘burgh. Lady your post yesterday was hilarious about your husband’s
phone. 😎I am glad everything turned out alright with dinner last night.
Good luck with your Hockey Team tonight. 🎈😎 Enjoy it with hubby.
Lady surgery is tomorrow and it will last 4-8 hours. I am saying extra prayers.
This can be overwhelming at times my thoughts are on the kids. 💕Sending Spring hugs to you and Jake. 😘😎🎈 Thank you for having a nice sense of
humor. LOL! 💕 -
Good afternoon, my friend. Nice day here, tomorrow we may hit 80 and by the weekend it will be 50. Sounds just like Oz.
Hubs just left with his friend for the hockey game.🏒 I went to one game this year. We have expensive tickets and to me it wasn’t worth the price by the way they are playing. Also, it’s a lot of walking for my knees.🦵 I am happy on my couch and if it’s a bad game, I can get rid of it.😣
Do you know if your SIL is having Whipple surgery? That was the original plan for my friend but things changed. I have been praying and will be thinking of her all day tomorrow – God bless her.🙏💗
I hope you can relax a little this evening. Love and hugs to you and the whole family.🤗💖

“Old Devil Moon”
(originally from “Finian’s Rainbow” musical)I look at you and suddenly
Something in your eyes I see
Soon begins bewitching me
It’s that old devil moon
That you stole from the skies
It’s that old devil moon in your eyesYou and you glance
Make this romance
Too hot to handle
Stars in the night
Blazing their light
Can’t hold a candle
To your razzle-dazzleYou’ve got me flyin’ high and wide
On a magic carpet ride
Full of butterflies inside
Wanna cry, wanna croon
Wanna laugh like a loon
It’s that old devil moon in your eyesJust when I think I’m
Free as a dove
Old devil moon
Deep in your eyes
Blinds me with loveYou’ve got me flyin’ high and wide
On a magic carpet ride
Full of butterflies inside
Wanna cry, wanna croon
Wanna laugh like a loon
It’s that old devil moon in your eyesJust when I think I’m
Free as a dove
Old devil moon
Deep in your eyes
Blinds me with love
Blinds me with love-
How Are Things in Glocca Morra?
Song in Finian’s RainbowI hear a bird, Londonderry bird,
It well may be he’s bringing me a cheering word.
I hear a breeze, a River Shanon breeze,
It well may be it’s followed me across the seas.
Then tell me please
How are things in Glocca Morra?
Is that little brook still leaping there?
Does it still run down to Donny cove?
Through Killybegs, Kilkerry and Kildare?
How are things in Glocca Mora?
Is that willow tree still weeping there?
Does that lassie with the twinklin’ eye
Come smilin’ by and does she walk away,
Sad and dreamy there not to see me there?
So I ask each weepin’ willow and each brook along the way,
And each lass that comes a-sighin’ too ra lay
How are things in Glocca Morra this fine day?

Look to the Rainbow
Song by Don Francks, Fred Astaire, and Petula ClarkOn the day I was born,
said my father, said he,
I’ve an elegant legacy
waiting for ye.
Tis a rhyme for your lips
and a song for your heart,
To sing whenever the world falls apart.
Look, look, look to the rainbow.
Follow it over the hill and stream.
Look, look, look to the rainbow.
Follow the fellow who follows a dream.
Follow the fellow, follow the fellow,
Follow the fellow who follows a dream.
‘Twas a sumptuous gift bequeathed to a child.
Oh, the lure of that song
Kept her feet running wild.
For you never grow old and you never stand still
With a whippoorwill singing beyond the next hill.
So, I bundled me heart and I roamed the world free.
To the east with the lark
Tow the west with the sea.
And I searched all the world and I scanned all the skies.
But I found it at last in my own true love’s eyes. -

As part of a tradition, the Chicago River is dyed green in observance of St. Patrick’s Day.
Part of my childhood. 😎💕🎈

ST. PATRICK’S DAY
St. Patrick’s Day kicks off a worldwide celebration also known as the Feast of St. Patrick. On March 17th, many will wear green in honor of the Irish and decorate with shamrocks. According to lore, the wearing of the green tradition dates back to a story written about St. Patrick in 1726. St. Patrick (c. AD 385–461) used the shamrock to illustrate the Holy Trinity and worn green clothing. And while the story is unlikely to be true, many will revel in the Irish heritage and eat traditional Irish fare, too.

Happy St. Pat’s day to you!🍀 My husband is not a fan of corned beef so we are having pork today, lol.
Stopped to see a friend in the hospital this morning. When I got home hubs handed me his phone about a problem he was having, ugh! I guess he thinks I’m Mrs. Samsung Galaxy 2025.🙄 I gave him the phone and the phone number for CS, the end.
Enjoy your great dinner, sending Irish hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖
