Our Farmer’s Market is trying to keep prices down wherever possible. Eggs at Aldi’s is over $6/doz.
And speaking of farmers. Legislature in Florida are taking up some of the farmer’s request to take Almond milk off the shelves. It’s about the only thing I can drink that has low calories and no allergic reaction. Farmers are saying that almonds are not milk.

I am going to get those meds now. So far I am headache free. That was not the case yesterday on my way to visit hubby. By the time I parked the car, I am still asking myself how I made it. Poor hubby, all he could do was hold my hand until I felt better. By the way, on my way home two or three days ago, I was at a traffic stop when a man was trying to get into people’s cars. Seeing what was happening, I immediately locked the doors and made sure the windows were up. This is one time I will be thankful for “springing ahead.”

The 2025 Academy Awards are today in Hollywood, California. Along with the biggest stars in film, many notable musicians are taking in the ceremony at the Dolby Theatre. Expected in attendance are Wicked stars and renowned singers Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, newly trained singers Timothée Chalamet and Monica Barbaro, Emilia Pérez’s Selena Gomez, and plenty more. Below, see photos from the Oscars red carpet.

Three musically inclined films are up for Best Picture: the film adaptation of the Wicked musical, the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, and the Spanish-language musical Emilia Pérez. Also nominated in the category is The Brutalist, which was scored by Daniel Blumberg.

Blumberg is looking to win the Academy Award for Best Original Score. He’s going up against 2023’s winner, Volker Bertelmann, who scored the papal drama Conclave, along with Emilia Pérez’s Clément Ducol and Camille, The Wild Robot’s Kris Bowers, and Wicked’s John Powell and Stephen Schwartz.

The Emilia Pérez musicians, Ducol and Camille, have a lot of opportunities to win an Academy Award tonight, as they are also nominated for Best Original Song. They wrote two of the nominees—“El Mal” and “Mi Camino”—in the five-song category. The other nominated songs are “Like a Bird,” the Sing Sing song written by Abraham Alexander and Black Pumas’ Adrian Quesada; Diane Warren’s The Six Triple Eight entry “The Journey”; and “Never Too Late,” a song for the Elton John film Elton John: Never Too Late that was made by John, Brandi Carlile, Andrew Watt, and Bernie Taupin.

I am enjoying the Oscars and hope you are too. Conan O’Brian is doing an awesome job.
I made four kinds of crackers to snack on. Dinner was a salad and a piece of beef sautéed with onions and garlic. I don’t eat the onions, but I like to flovar the beef with. I find it funny I don’t like eating the food item that gives so much flavor to food like steak. I do like eating the pressed garlic, that I eat, go figure.

For dessert I was to make chocolate pudding, but decided to have strawberries and yogurt.
The Oscars are still going on, going to finish watching. To my surprise, Brazil won for foreign film.
I hope your weather behaves and that you are feeling better. And that your hubby is getting stronger, well and feeling better.

Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 🎈💕😎 Oodie good luck with
hubby and your trip just to get out. 💕I love it and he needs it.

Oz is warmer with the Sun today. 😎My husband is feeling so much better what a
difference a day makes. The meds are working. I did make soup for him and me
and making sure he drinks plenty of water. I wish we could go bike riding but I know
with all the coughing that will not work. No worries spring is around the corner.

I am about to run some errands and be one and done. Let me know how you are
feeling today. 🎈

I normally enjoy shopping at the Farmer’s Market on a late Saturday afternoon. Plenty of parking and no lines. Well, yesterday was a different story. The line of cars trying to find parking took me by surprise. So I did an alternative route which gave me a great parking space near the checkout area. The place inside was something else. Lines down an aisle and up another. I tried to purchase Romaine lettuce for $.99 each. All that was left were the ones that were frost bitten or too small for the price. However, what they did have was my favorite scallion. These are huge, round onions with the green stems. I use every bit of this onion and they are sweet. You can usually find them this time of year. The greens I use for salads, in sour cream or cream cheese for flavor. Definitely in rice and potatoes for flavor and as a garnish. My mom used to pickle the scallions and they were delicious. But, today, I can no longer eat what mom made due to sulfites. I also shopped for the receptionist and when done I used one of the bags from HSN with an ice pak. She was so appreciative when I delivered everything but the Romaine. Will go back either tomorrow or Tuesday. It took me a good fifteen minutes to drive out of the parking lot. I did purchase a strawberry cheesecake for hubby. I loved watching him eat and when he reached the bottom took a finger to get what was left in the container. “The best he ever had,” he said. Since strawberries are now in season in Florida, I will buy another. They also had strawberry milkshakes and strawberry smoothies on sale. The ice cream is all homemade. Made fresh daily. You can gain 10 lbs. just by looking at the desserts.

I’m happy that your hubby is feeling better and that the pills are working. This season is just as bad as last year. I will be picking up the meds today. I tried yesterday, but the pharmacy was closed by the time I arrived. So far, no headache. But the afternoon is just getting started.

Have a great Sunday and then some. Soup sounds good. I’ll be at your house in a few minutes. Have broom will travel.

Hello Sheba 🌹 Lucky you, you got to see the planets. The night was cloudy here yesterday. Tonight I was able to see the Moon and the star next to it I think it’s Venus.
Caranaval has started in Brazil. My cousin said it’s all the TV channels are showing.

I am looking forward to the Oscars tomorrow. Going to make some snacks and dessert. Not sure what, I will look through my lists on YouTube . I have several lists, snacks, baked goods, none baked sweets, savory baked dishes, soups, muffins, and more.

to an early morning clinic visit turns out he has a sinus infection. All the doctor did was
give him antibiotics. I am keeping an eye on him hubs never had this type of problem.

I think I mentioned last night that I wish our pharmacy had delivery service. These headaches have kept me from getting the necessary prescript. Yes, a neighbor could have gone, but they would need proof of name and address and other pertinent info. Not worth the aggravation.

Hubby is doing OK. I hope I will be able to take him out and about this week on a road trip. The physical therapy people will help him in and out of the vehicle. Actually, he really wants to go into Costco and the Farmer’s Market. I do not know if that would be possible. It would be a nice surprise if it can happen. Then again, there are some services that may be able to help. I have seen some out and about. However, in most cases it is for doctor appointments.

One of the receptionist’s has been working 10 hour days. Two people have quit and it seems for medical reasons. One has had surgery and is recovering. The other has a clot near the lung that needs surgery. However, the insurance company from the Rehab says meds are the best way. However, the meds are not working and she is a living time bomb at this point. She is the sole support of a 5yr. old who is cute as a button. Anyway, I just got off the phone with the only receptionist. I will be picking up some food that she needs from the Farmer’s Market. It’s the least I can do.

Well onward and out. Time to dress and do my thing. So far, no headache. Hope to pick up the much needed meds. Those trees are starting to wake up. Everything is starting at the same time. It’s a wonder that your hubby didn’t have problems until now. Hope he feels better soon. Nothing like having chills, headaches and other things going at the same time. The atmosphere is changing. I think it’s called “Climate Change.”

Hikes today and saw a 1 legged Husky and a huge Doberman in booties. The booties make sense because its got little rocks all over and I often wonder if it hurts the dogs paws.

Someone told me she uses a hot compress for her sinus issue and it seems to work. She also takes the antibiotics.

Good evening OZ is chilly tonight the heat is on. I did open windows yesterday and it
was wonderful and then this morning things took a dip. Ole man winter is back. 😎

Our weather here in OZ is very different and we tend to have the same weather as Colorado.

I pretty sure Mayfair Witches will be renewed for a third season. I enjoy the show.
I have some of the Mayfair books as well as other books by Anne Rice. What a writer.

I have one show to catch up on and I watch everything on AMC it comes in my cable
package.

I love that dog she is so sweet. Poppy tails wag back and forth as they play and run.

NATIONAL PUBLIC SLEEPING DAY

If you’re tired on February 28th, it might be because National Public Sleeping Day encourages a mid-day nap right where you are. It is a day for anyone and everyone to take a nap on a blanket at the beach, at the park, in the movie theater, on a bus, train, or subway or any other public place that may work for you. However, it may not be a good idea to take that nap at your desk during work!

NATIONAL FLORAL DESIGN DAY

National Floral Design Day on February 28th recognizes the art and history of floral design. For thousands of years, floral design has been an important cultural art form. This is the day we celebrate that art form. It may be in a bouquet, painting, in textiles, a garden or a floral arrangement.

NATIONAL TOOTH FAIRY DAY

National Tooth Fairy Day falls on August 22 AND February 28 each year to doubly encourage us to take a look back on the history of one of dental care’s little helpers. It’s one way our children develop good dental hygiene.

NATIONAL SKIP THE STRAW DAY

On the fourth Friday in February, The Coral Keepers ask you to consider a different way on National Skip the Straw Day! For thousands of years, humans have enjoyed slurping a refreshing beverage through a cylindrical tube. If Marvin Stone (the inventor of the first paper straw in 1888) were alive today, he might be shocked to know of the five large areas of the ocean, called gyres, where plastic garbage collects. The sea’s currents create vortexes trapping plastics, and in the collection are plastic drinking straws.

Straws and other plastics cause harm to marine life in many ways. Birds, fish, and other sea life consume plastics accidentally or when they mistake it for food. Plastics don’t biodegrade. They break down into smaller and finer, microscopic pieces. When plastics break down, they produce bisphenol A (BPA) which interferes with reproductive systems in marine life. It also produces styrene monomer which is a suspected carcinogen.

According to the National Park Service, Americans use 500 million drinking straws daily! So, on National Skip the Straw Day that’s potentially 500 million fewer straws that don’t end up in landfills or the ocean.

Each year on the last day in February, Rare Disease Day brings awareness and education about rare diseases and the suffering they cause.

NATIONAL CHOCOLATE SOUFFLÉ DAY

National Chocolate Soufflé Day celebrates a delightfully delicious dessert on February 28th each year.

The word soufflé is the past participle of the French verb souffler, which means “to blow up” or more loosely “puff up” which describes a soufflé perfectly. A soufflé is a lightly baked cake made with egg yolks and beaten egg whites that are combined with other ingredients to make the dish either a savory main dish or a sweet dessert.

Two essential components make up every soufflé.

A French crème patisserie base/flavored cream sauce or puree
Egg whites beaten to a soft peak meringue
A soufflé gets its flavor from the base, and the egg whites provide the lift to puff it up. A variety of cheeses, jams, fruits, or chocolates can be baked into the base of the soufflé. Many soufflé bakers like to puncture the top of the soufflé after removing it from the oven. Then they pour mouth-watering sauces onto it, such as chocolate, vanilla, or for a savory flavor cheese and herbs.

I had to turn off the TV and listen to music this afternoon, everything is just too much.
For dinner this last day of February and being a Friday, we got Huey Magoo’s chicken.
Just plain chicken, I cooked vegetables, baked sweet potatoes and made a salad. Have enough leftovers for lunch.

I phoned the doctor’s office this past Monday and on Wednesday received a call from the pharmacist that the prescript was ready. Unfortunately, these sinus headaches has made it impossible to drive or to do anything. The pharmacist phoned this morning when I was feeling OK, but I did let them know that I was not about to drive. Wish they had delivery service and recommended it to them.

These headaches come at all hours. Day and night. No happy medium. I walked into hubby’s room and he knew immediately that a headache was starting. I have been away from the computer for a few days to give my eyes a rest. Right now I am OK. I took my sinus meds and they took the heat off. I was finally able to drive home. Right now I cannot wait to get into bed. Have a nice evening and stay well.

Your Hubs did a good job and Sharks seem well rated.
Do you still have it? My new Vacuum is a Shark and it had wonderful suction. But it’s a trade off for features from my old one. It’s all good.
In addition to Paradise, I recently started watching Mayfair Witches. Have you seen it before?
It seems pretty good so far.
Like the songs you posted above from Fame and Fifth Dimensions.
Hubs says we won’t see it well if at all due to lights and fog and clouds.

Good evening the vacuum cleaner happened over a month ago and it was brand new and
delivered by UPS. I thought it was a joke but I love it. 💕To be fair she did buy a new one before
she sold me her old one. Best deal I ever made.

This is all thanks to my husband’s curious mind.

I am into Mayfair Witches it is a good show I have AMC and I think you know I watched the
Walking Dead and I love the new Anne Rice Interview with the Vampire. 💕 You know Leos
are into things that are different. Mayfair got renewed too. I love the New Orleans flavor. 💕
Anne Rice did this show too now her son is producing all the shows due to her passing.

I am glad you like the songs they are in tune with what is going on in the night sky.

Thanks for the shoutout. They lost their last four games so wasn’t optimistic. But at least it wasn’t a boring game where they got blown out. Hubs has been to four games that went to overtime this year.

Sis leaves on Monday for a whole month. She hasn’t been home since last August so she needs to get some things done.🥰 Still having a rough time at night sleeping and coughing so I’ve been dragging.😖 Did some grocery shopping this morning and ordering pizza for dinner.🍕 BTW, REALLY enjoyed my eggs yesterday!

Look out for corn, I hear some people get headaches from it.
I’m going to sound like Oodie for a minute, went to Aldis and got a great package of strawberries. Maybe they were premium left over from Valentines Day? And my vacuum broke a few days ago (not repairable) so today I purchased a new one and it has great suction compared to my old one. Each has their benefits though.
Like you we have coyotes venturing through the neighborhoods, I think they have territories and routes.

I remember Jessica Simpson dog was taken and never seen again by a Coyote there
in S. California she was so devastated.

I felt so bad for her so I will not be feeding Coyotes I don’t want them coming back
for more.

Taci you would not believe what happened one day. We have yard sales and a neighbor
up the street had a good one I brought a few animals things and what not. I walk everything
home one was a extra vacuum cleaner a Shark. Well couple weeks later it stopped working
my husband is Mr. Fix-it and he called the company just to get a part and they sent a brand
new Vaccum Cleaner top of the line because it still had a warranty on it. I did not believe
husband until the vacuum cleaner arrived a week later via UPS. 😎 This was a fluke calling
the number on the vacuum cleaner just for a part and they say that vacuum cleaner they
no longer make and it’s still under warranty. Love it😎💕

This time of year reminds me of my dog Sheba not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. 💕
Poppy has been by my side since she passed Poppy was a rescue gift from one of our
daughters.💕 I don’t know why I love animals so much.

That’s why I volunteered all those years before my knees started to hurt.

Hubs going to the hockey game tonight.🏒 He’ll probably come home rolling his eyes they are doing so horrible. Only way left for them is up. I only have to cook for me for dinner so I think I will splurge and have something with eggs, yay!🍳
