Shoelady, Thanks for the welcome back. Interesting, that we both have some relatives from Poland. Do you know where (not that you have to post it)? I have a friend who said the same but she had no idea. We really didn’t expect to travel to Poland and it turned out to be a great experience.
Glad your sister didn’t have Covid. Do you think she will move back?

Sheba, Thanks for the great welcome back! I watched the INSX video. It looks filmed at the Charles Bridge and on River banks below. We were there. The River was very high due to some rain storms. The Bridge is a busy tourist spot with vendors selling items on it during the evenings. If you go early in the morning it’s peaceful.

I think I know the Medicine you will go off in December as I know one person who went off after 2 years and my other friend will be on it for life . I hear the side effects are a pita. I’m really happy for you and those VS bra’s you get to wear.
Your train ride sounds luxurious. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 1st class sounds awesome!

Oh, the food… Very good. a glass of wine and beer with most meals is expected and not overpriced like in the US. Since we are chatting in Prague, I will start there. We tried to eat at local spots. Hubs had a good goulash, and had some pumpkin rice dish with pieces of warm pumpkin in it. It was very good. We went back the next day to the same place ( the dish changes daily) and it was good, but not a real meal. We laughed about it. Lots of bread with meals which was great. There are a lot of people smoking and vaping, everywhere. I was surprised. Young and old and everyone in between in all the places we traveled.

Oodie, I am hoping you can get your hubs home soon. Marymary1969 had a great idea for your travels. I know you have a lot to figure out. Will Florida remain your base or will you try to move back to another home? Thanks for the great welcome back!

@oodiebom, perhaps you can hire an aide to travel on the train with you and your husband and then fly them back to Florida. When I needed to get my dad from Southern California to Southwestern PA, a friend of mine who was a CRNA and whose parents lived in California did that. I gave her Christmas week with her parents and she brought my Dad back with her. Just some options to think about. Good luck!

I’m getting ready to be with hubby. He had me in stitches yesterday along with our favorite aide. Both of us were almost on the floor.

Today we will be discussing a return home. I am not sure at this point if he will be able to stand on one leg, and I know my back will be no help. Essentially, there are wheelchairs that can go over a commode or even a toilet. These same ones can also be used in a shower. With help from the nurses and social worker I can try a sling which does not seem difficult to maneuver. I do feel that with therapy at home he will be able to overcome the “I can’ts” to the “I cans.”

I am again watching the tropics. There are two storms in the Caribbean which can either go into the Atlantic or the Gulf. It could be just a shower event, a tropical storm or a full blown hurricane with the name Patty. Will know more as we approach the weekend. Never a dull moment.

So glad to hear from TACI. She traveled far and wide. Like you, Sheba, I am looking at train rides. Amtrak, it seems, has come a long way from just a place to sit for a few hours to a hotel on wheels. I am looking at the possiblilty of an overnight to Virginia with car and hubby. Doable for either driving to New England with an overnight or a mini vacation to Lancaster and then home. Either way it has great possibilities.
