Conversation 25
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 25 out of the
series. I created and started this thread 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

I do not think it’s your computer. There is a glitch with HSN tonight. People are having problems with the Arcade as well. Rest tonight and try again in the am.. I am also having some difficulties accessing other web sites. We had a huge storm yesterday, early evening and it lasted over 3 hours. Have a feeling that HSN had some problems because of it. I also had some problems trying to evade puddles in the road going home from rehab. Good thing hubby was asleep when I left. Take care and stay safe. Doing a happy dance that you are feeling better.

NATIONAL LEMON DAY
On July 23, National Lemon Day squeezes it’s way into our day just in time to celebrate our summertime festivities. This tart fruit brings vibrant, citrus notes to salads, drinks, and even savory dishes. Join us as we learn why so many people love the taste of lemon during the summertime and learn some lemony history, too.
Lemons are believed to be native to South Asia, although some say they may have originated in Northeast India. Citron, which is similar to a lemon, was the first of the citrus family. In fact, Citron is found in a Persian garden near Jerusalem said to be at least 2,500 years old. Some time between the last 1st century BC and early 1st century AD, Citron made its way to Rome. Interestingly, lemons were never used in food or drink by the Romans during this early time period. It seems Romans instead used this citrus tree for decoration and the pleasant odour.
It would take at least 400 years for the contemporary lemon to appear as an abundant tree. Around 700 AD, lemons became a part of trade in Europe and reached the Americas by the 1400s. Hispanics receive credit for bringing lemons into the U.S. by the early 1700s. Today, lemons are found all over the world as part of our culinary creations and for medicinal uses.

NATIONAL DOLE WHIP® DAY
We are on mission to encourage everyone to try a true-to-fruit-soft serve because today is National Dole Whip® Day! Each year on the third Thursday in July, we share our love for the fruity-licious flavor it brings to people around the world.
The frozen dairy-free treat Dole Whip® has been around since 1984. In fact, the original Dole Whip® consisted of a float of whip in a glass of pineapple juice, topped with a maraschino cherry. This frozen fruitiness was first introduced at Disneyland in 1986 and has been a favorite since. We think National Dole Whip® Day is the perfect day to enjoy a creamy soft-serve cup of fruitopia.

NATIONAL SOUR CANDY DAY
July 18 is National Sour Candy Day! Adults and children alike will enjoy lip-puckering, eye-watering flavors. Choose your favorite sour candy and celebrate!
In the candy world, sour candy is the young, energetic, and fun member of the candy family. It awakens the taste buds and adds a punch of youthful energy. Every flavor combination out there creates a dazzling taste sensation. Surprisingly, sometimes a sweet candy delivers a walloping tear-jerking zap in a bite-sized lozenge or sucker that lasts for several minutes. Other times, it delivers the punch in a chewy form. These fun sour candies come in a variety of entertaining shapes and sizes. From chewy twists and ropes to sweet bite-sized pieces and straws, each one creates a unique juicy tang, indeed.
On this sweet holiday, instead of trying regular old candy, celebrate by trying sour candy. It’s like having a birthday and not getting any older! If you’ve tasted sour candy before, try a new flavor and discover which one makes your mouth pucker the most! Will it be Cherry or Watermelon or maybe a combination of Tangerine-Lemonade? Without a doubt, July 18th is the perfect day to share any of the variety of flavors the American Licorice Company has to offer.

NATIONAL TROPICAL FRUIT DAY
Today is July 18 on the National Day Calendar and we are celebrating the delicious food holiday National Tropical Fruit Day. This fruity National Day celebrates the variety of exotic tropical fruit from around the world and gives us the opportunity to get a taste of some sweet facts, too.
Tropical fruits grow in regions where the weather his hot and humid in regions we call the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. Asia, Africa, Central and South Americas, and the Caribbean produce some of the most delicious tropical fruits in the world.
National Tropical Fruit Day presents an opportunity to snack, cook, and sample tropical fruit all day long!

NATIONAL PEACH ICE CREAM DAY
National Peach Ice Cream Day on July 17 sweetens the day with a few scoops at the peak of peach season. Since peaches begin peaking in July, this celebration comes just in time. Plus, it also lands right in the middle of National Ice Cream Month.
So, it’s an excellent time to add peach ice cream to the growing list of flavors to choose from when it comes to frozen, creamy treats.
Generally speaking, there are two types of peaches – freestone and clingstone. The difference has to do with how the flesh comes away from the stone or the pit in the middle of the peach. When the meat comes away freely from the stone, the peach is a freestone peach; if the flesh clings to it, it’s a clingstone.
While Georgia may be the first state to come to mind when we think of peaches, California actually leads the nation in production. In the United States, 20 states produce peaches commercially. Besides California and Georgia, the other two top producers are South Carolina and New Jersey. Pennsylvania and Washington grow a lot of peaches, too.
This sweet stone fruit makes delicious ice cream when it’s very ripe and full of peachy juices. However, you don’t have to use fresh peaches to make this ice cream. Buy frozen peaches if the grocery or farmer’s markets don’t have them in yet. The family will love making homemade ice cream together. The best part will be eating up the finished product on a hot summer day.

WORLD EMOJI DAY
July 17 recognizes World Emoji Day and many of the world’s symbolic icons for digital calendars. The day encourages us to use emojis to send unique messages.
Before the emoji, there were emoticons. Emoticons (emotion + icon) was developed as an expression of emotions in the cold hard texts that were devoid of them.
Emoji, a Japanese expression, roughly means “picture word” and was created by Shigetaka Kurita in 1990. While working for the Japanese telecom company NTT Docomo, Kurita would design these picture words as a feature on their pagers to make them more appealing to teens.
The release of the first iPhone by Apple in 2007 had an emoji keyboard embedded into the phone to nab the Japanese market. While not intended for U.S. users to find, they did and quickly figured out how to use it.
Every year new emojis (both emoji and emojis are acceptable plural forms of the word) are developed. The emojipedia.org keeps track of all the emoji updates across all platforms and operating systems. Over 1800 emojis cover much more than just emotions. From transportation, food, an assortment of wild and domesticated animals to social platforms, weather, and bodily functions, emojis virtually speak for themselves.
When it comes to celebration emojis, the designers created a variety to make sure we could express our excitement. Whether we celebrate the arrival of a new baby, an anniversary, or a birthday, there’s something for every celebration. In fact, if we search our emojis carefully, we could probably Celebrate Every Day® on National Day Calendar® emoji style.

NATIONAL HOT DOG DAY
National Hot Dog Day in July celebrates a summertime staple on a bun. Enjoy one piping hot and add some relish and mustard to go! One thing we want to know – is it a sandwich or not?
Celebrated every year during National Hot Dog Month, this day pays homage to the frankfurter, the footlong or wienie, wiener, wienerwurst or even red hot. They taste just as great no matter what we call it.
Over 25 million hot dogs are sold at baseball stadiums each year.
We make them a variety of ways. They’re portable and easy to make. While many of us prefer them grilled or toasted over a fire, we also boil, pan-fry, and rotisserie-cook them. The list of toppings are numerous – from the basic ketchup, mustard or relish to onions, mayonnaise, cheese, bacon, chili and sauerkraut – the list keeps growing. Adults and children alike love them, too.
On May 31, 2012, a world record was set for the most expensive hot dog. The “California Capitol City Dawg” sold for $145.49 at Capitol Dawg in Sacramento, California. The “California Capitol City Dawg” features:
A grilled 18″ all-beef, in natural casing frank from Chicago
Served on a fresh-baked herb and oil focaccia roll spread with white truffle butter, then grilled
Topped with whole grain mustard from France, garlic and herb mayonnaise
Sauteed chopped shallots, organic mixed baby greens, maple syrup
Marinated/fruitwood smoked uncured bacon from New Hampshire
Chopped tomatoes, sweetened dried cranberries, chopped tomato
Expensive moose cheese from Sweden
Basil olive oil/pear-cranberry-coconut balsamic vinaigrette and ground peppercorn
Proceeds from the sale of each 3 lb. super dog donated to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. -

NATIONAL PERSONAL CHEF DAY
Each year on July 16, National Personal Chef Day recognizes the dedication and hard work of personal chefs across the United States.
There’s a difference between a personal chef and a private chef. A private chef usually works exclusively for one client and typically lives in a person’s home or on the property. A personal chef may have many clients, run their own business, or work for a company.
The services a personal chef provides may include preparing meals in the clients’ homes or delivering meals already prepared. They may also create a meal plan according to dietary needs or the client’s preferences. Clients then follow instructions provided by the chef for heating the meals. Some personal chefs offer catering services as well.

Hi, Sheba and friends,
Did you see the bad storms in IL last night?
After about 24 hrs. I have power now.We have a generator so it made things easier.
Probably 10 touchdowns and a couple were around me.We were in the basement that’s for sure.
For the first time ever an alert came over my phone as critical.Never saw that before.
Like you always say, stay safe! And ,we did thanks! -
I did see that on our local weather report I have never weather like that in that area.
Glad you are safe good thing you have basement. 😎🎈I will not leave in OZ without a basement it is very comfortable and if something should
happen we would be very safe.I hope your visit to your son in SC was a good one. I went to Colorado to visit family. 💕
This was not an easy visit I will leave it at that.Hey enjoy this Wednesday and always watch the weather because anything can happen.

Even though I was highly hydrated I still was ill. Had a dental appointment yesterday and became quite dizzy in the chair. It soon past. As I left, noticed that the sky was darkening and decided to do a slight detour on the way home. Stopped at the Farmer’s Market and did major damage to my credit card. The only thing I did not purchase was the honeydew. The day I decide to make the soup, will purchase that. I may also add dragon fruit as well. I have one of the pots from Wolfgang Puck and I can see why everyone loves the sets.
News on hubs. I was with him on Monday and while there a team of people came in. One was a man who is in charge of the nurses, and Unit Managers. He introduced himself and hubby became quite the guy. This time he was asking questions. More than anything he wants to return home. The people agreed and we shall see what happens in the days ahead. I also mentioned that I needed a ramp and a bathroom remodel to accommodate his needs. I will be meeting with someone on this soon. Probably would have been Tuesday, but started to feel unwell again and fell asleep until now. I have the A/C people on Thursday and will be calling to make another appointment. This heat and humidity has finally gotten to me and I will make sure that I am more than just hydrated, though part of it was a sulfite issue.
I am still doing KP and that’s because I can only work a few hours per day and then spend the afternoon and evening with hubby. His days are long when I do not show. He knew I had a dental appointment and seeing him would be iffy. The dental went great. Another appointment is needed. I do need to have a tooth extracted, but he agreed that the Eustachian tube is the culprit. For now, he will leave that tooth alone until we come up with a plan. His office will contact me when he is ready and we will have a consultation. He doesn’t want to wait on this. Surgery is needed on the Eustachian, however, it is a catch 22 due to my Sulfite allergies.
-
Good morning I hope you feel soon. I think everyone gets dizzy in a dental chair.
Glad it’s not too bad.Oodie on the bathroom re-do some companies can do it within days depending on
what is needed. I hope that is the case with you one and done that’s what you want. You have a lot going on I think I would be tired too. We just had our A/C whole house
done for routine maintenance we put in a new filter every month. OZ is very humid
and I simply cannot live here without A/C. The weather is getting to be that way every
where. Geez! Please rest a bit I am doing alright after the two routine vaccines. I just never had a reaction
to anything so first time for everything. Glad it is over. 😎💕Oodie with the heat being so hot all over I hope your A/C Company can make another
appointment sooner rather than later. I hate to see you cancel the appt. but if you have to
just make sure they re-schedule when it is convenient for you.Let me know how things goes today. I pray your husband can come home soon.
I love Dragon Fruit. 💕😎🎈
-
Good morning in S. California thank you for posting last night as I was fast asleep. 😎
Taci if you are tired it can wait. The temps got everyone hot and out of it.Wishing you a nice cool and comfortable day my friend. 🎈😘😎
Here is to Happy Trails no matter where you go. 😎🎈
-
Sheba, Happy Tuesday! Hope you are feeling better. You had a strong reaction.
So far so good with the gym. It’s a change but will try if for a while.
We watched the movie The Duchess and I am still thinking about it. Have you seen it? It was not my pick but I was drawn into it.
Getting more tomatoes. Next year I’m adding cucumbers and small oranges or tangerines. -
Good afternoon in the ‘burgh. I know just a few more days and then you will be on the go. 😎
Relax and enjoy the day I hope it is cooler where you are. Hey Oz had some nice rain this
morning. 💕😎Sending cool hugs to you and Jake. 💕🎈😘😎
-
You are correct, sis leaves on Saturday so I will be running for a few weeks.🏃♀️ It is very warm today, in the 90’s, but tomorrow should be cooler for a few days. Maybe storms⛈ tonight/tomorrow which we really need. All that rain we had in May/June with flooding and now nothing. It’s been at least two weeks since the grass was cut.
Hope you’re feeling better each day and your swelling has gone down. Tell hubs he still needs to do the cooking until you are 100%.😄
Enjoy your evening, sending big hugs to you, Poppy and your menagerie.🤗💖

NATIONAL GIVE SOMETHING AWAY DAY
Most of us have the benefit of having more than we need to live. National Give Something Away Day on July 15 offers us an opportunity to share some of our bounties.
In the United States, giving is on the rise. According to Giving USA, giving rose in all nine major categories in 2016.
Religion
Education
Human services
Giving to foundations
Health, public-society benefit
Arts
Culture and humanities
International affairs
Environment and animals.
Giving benefits us all, too. It improves our community and puts much-needed services and assistance within the reach of those who need it most. The giver also benefits. Giving not only makes us feel good but it teaches gratitude, too. Whether we give financially or by offering our skills and services, we lift others up. Our words can be a gift, too. Showing empathy, encouragement, and compassion to someone during a time of need may make us feel vulnerable, but it empowers those we offer it to as well. You can also share your time with others by volunteering. While you may not think you have something to give away, you might be surprised. Tangible items like clothing, money, and food aren’t always what’s needed, though they may be the most common. On this day, broaden your goals and organize a give something away fundraiser. Also, look around your community, and identify the places that need you the most. Focus your energies there.

Good day in Florida and may this Monday be a great one for you and hubby. 😎🎈
Xango how is your family doing? I am snapping out of a reaction to two vaccines.Moving forward just stay cool as you can. 💕
-
Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. I do hope KP is one and done.
How are things going today? Glad you got some shopping done. 🎈😎
Yeah Costco is going up in membership I am still going to keep mine
and still keep shopping there. 💕😎Oddie I had my two vaccines exactly three days ago almost to the hour.
I did talk to my doctor’s office and what I went through is normal. I was fine
the first day it was Saturday when things changed. I noticed the swelling and
the high temps. Sunday I was still swollen on one arm and I had some sweats so
bad last night my silk gown was soaked. Well today being day three the swelling
is down a great deal and temp is back to normal I think the worst is over. 😎I don’t know if I will ever do two vaccines at the same time I have to think about
that. Oz is hot today it is good to be back to normal. 💕Doctor did say I have some allergies in my sinus and she is keeping an eye on it.
How is your husband doing today? I hope you are making progress in moving your
husband if there is an opening to another medical facility until he is able to come
home.Feel better Oodie and keep cool. 😎🎈

Good morning in S. California. 🎈💕😎I am over the vaccines and feel normal.

and last night. Oh well moving forward. 😎💕I will say this had I not got those vaccines
the outcome when have been far worse so all good.Thank you for thinking of my family the grief comes in waves and going back to Colorado
was the best thing I ever did. I used to go like that all the time. 😎🎈💕I am wishing you a great Monday and I hope you like your new Gym. Be careful when
out and able hiking. 💕🎈😎Taci how is your son doing?Hey Happy Trails To You. 💕💕
-
Sheba, A quick hello to say glad you are feeling better and glad you were able to be with family and give and get support.
So far the gym is good. No critters and close to home.

NATIONAL GUMMI WORM DAY
Each year, National Gummi Worm Day gets a day of recognition on July 15 to honor a small candy that kids and adults love.
Gummy worms are green and red but come in a variety of flavors, such as sweet and sour! These creepy treats are one of the best-selling candies of all time. Gummi worms are inspired by the original gummi candy, gummy bears. Other sweet and sour gummy treats include snakes, peaches, and gumdrops, just to name a few.
While you can snack on gummi worms all on their own, they make great additions to desserts like dirt pudding and casket pie. You can also add them to your ice cream, parfaits, and beverages.

NATIONAL I LOVE HORSES DAY
On July 15 we recognize the love of one magnificent creature on National I Love Horses Day! With over 200 breeds, these spirited animals give humans much to love. Their loyalty and devotion throughout history may only be a fraction of the reasons to love them.
