Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Somewhere in the Night
Barry ManilowI’m singin’ to the world, it’s time we let the spirit come in
Let it come on in
I’m singin’ to the world, everybody’s caught in the spin
Look at where we’ve been
We’ve been runnin’ around, year after year
Blinded with pride, blinded with fear
But it’s daybreak, if you wanna believe
It can be daybreak, ain’t no time to grieve
Said it’s daybreak if you’ll only believe
And let it shine, shine, shine
All around the world (sing it to the world, sing, sing)
(Sing it to the world, sing, sing)
Singin’ to the world, what’s the point in puttin’ it down?
There’s so much love to share
I’m singin’ to the world, don’t you see it all comes around?
The feeling’s everywhere
We’ve been closin’ our eyes, day after day
Covered in clouds, losin’ our way
Hey, but it’s daybreak
If you wanna believe, it can be daybreak
Ain’t no time to grieve
Said it’s daybreak, if you’ll only believe
And let it shine, shine, shine
All around the world (Gotta sing, sing it to the world)
(Everyone singing, sing it to the world)
Yes, and it’s daybreak
If you wanna believe, it can be daybreak
Ain’t no time to grieve
Said it’s daybreak, if you’ll only believe
And let it shine, shine, shine
All around the world (Everyone singing, sing it to the world)
Let it shine, shine, shine
All around the world (Sing it to the world, sing, sing)
(Sing it to the world, sing, sing)
It’s day-ee-ay-ee-ay break, can ya feel it (Sing it to the world, sing, sing)
It’s day-ee-ay-ee-ay break, can ya feel it (Sing it to the world, sing, sing)
It’s day-ee-ay-ee-ay break (Sing it to the world, sing, sing)

“Daybreak”
Singing to the world
Its time we let the spirit come in
Let it come on in

“I Write The Songs”I’ve been alive forever
And I wrote the very first song
I put the words and the melodies together
I am music
And I write the songsI write the songs that make the whole world sing
I write the songs of love and special things
I write the songs that make the young girls cry
I write the songs, I write the songsMy home lies deep within you
And I’ve got my own place in your soul
Now when I look out through your eyes
I’m young again, even tho’ I’m very oldI write the songs that make the whole world sing
I write the songs of love and special things
I write the songs that make the young girls cry
I write the songs, I write the songsOh, my music makes you dance and gives you spirit to take a chance
And I wrote some rock ‘n roll so you can move
Music fills your heart, well that’s a real fine place to start
It’s from me, it’s for you
It’s from you, it’s for me
It’s a worldwide symphonyI write the songs that make the whole world sing
I write the songs of love and special things
I write the songs that make the young girls cry
I write the songs, I write the songsI write the songs that make the whole world sing
I write the songs of love and special things
I write the songs that make the young girls cry
I write the songs, I write the songsI am music and I write the songs

Ready to Take a Chance Again
Song by Barry ManilowYou remind me I live in a shell
Safe from the past and doin’ okay but not very well
No jolts, no surprises, no crisis arises
My life goes along as it should
It’s all very nice, but not very good
And I’m ready to take a chance again
Ready to put my love on the line with you
Been livin’ with nothing to show for it
You get what you get when you go for it
And I’m ready to take a chance again with you
When she left me, in all my despair
I just held on, my hopes were all gone
Then I found you there
And I’m ready to take a chance again
Ready to put my love on the line with you
Been livin’ with nothing to show for it
You get what you get when you go for it
And I’m ready to take a chance again
Ready to put my love on the line with you
Been livin’ with nothing to show for it
You get what you get when you go for it
And I’m ready to take a chance again
Ready to take a chance again with you
With you -
Copacabana (At the Copa)
Song by Barry ManilowHer name was Lola, she was a showgirl
With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there
She would merengue and do the cha-cha
And while she tried to be a star
Tony always tended bar
Across the crowded floor, they worked from eight til four
They were young and they had each other
Who could ask for more?
At the copa (co) Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the copa (co) Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the copa they fell in love
Copa, Copacabana
His name was Rico
He wore a diamond
He was escorted to his chair, he saw Lola dancing there
And when she finished, he called her over
But Rico went a bit to far
Tony sailed across the bar
And then the punches flew and chairs were smashed in two
There was blood and a single gun shot
But just who shot who?
At the copa (co) Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the copa (co) Copacabana
Music and passion were always the fashion
At the copa, she lost her love
(Copa, Copacabana)
(Copa, Copacabana)
(Copacabana)
like in Havana
(Copa, banana)
Music and passion were always in fashion
Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl
But that was thirty years ago, when they used to have a show
Now it’s a disco, but not for Lola
Still in dress she used to wear
Faded feathers in her hair
She sits there so refined, and drinks herself half-blind
She lost her youth and she lost her Tony
Now she’s lost her mind
At the copa (co) Copacabana (Copacabana)
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the copa (co) Copacabana
Music and passion were always in fashion
At the copa don’t fall in love
don’t fall in love
(Copacabana)

Tryin’ to Get the Feeling Again
Song by Barry ManilowDoctor, my woman is comin’ back home late today
Could ya maybe give me something?
‘Cause the feelin’ is gone and I must get it back right away
Before she sees that I’ve been
Up, down, tryin’ to get the feelin’ again
All around tryin’ to get the feelin’ again
The one that made me shiver, made my knees start to quiver
Every time she walked in
And I’ve looked high, low
Everywhere I possibly can
But there’s no tryin’ to get the feelin’ again
It seemed to disappear as fast as it came
I read every book
Looked through every meditation and poem
Just to bring back home that old sweet sensation
But it ain’t no use to me trying to get that feeling again
Up, down, tryin’ to get the feelin’ again
Up, down, tryin’ to get the feelin’ again
Where did it run to? I thought I’d done all that I could
Just to keep the love light burnin’
But whatever I’ve done I guess, I just haven’t done it too good
‘Cause all that’s left is yearnin’
I’ve been up, down, tryin’ to get the feelin’ again
All around tryin’ to get the feelin’ again
The one that made me shiver, made my knees start to quiver
Every time she walked in
And I’ve looked high and low
And everywhere I possibly can
But there’s no tryin’ to get the feelin’ again
It seemed to disappear as fast as it came
And I’ve been lookin’, I’ve been lookin’, I’ve been lookin’
I’ve been up, I’ve been down, and tryin’ to get the feelin’
I’ve been up, I’ve been down, I’ve been tryin’ to get
And I’ve tried, and I’ve tried, and I’ve tried to get the feelin’
I’ve been trying to get, trying, trying, trying to get the feelin’
I’ve tryin’ to get the feelin’ again
I want to get that feelin’
I want to get that feelin’
I’ve got to get that feelin’
I’ve gotta get that feelin’ again and again and again
Tryin’ to get the feelin’
I’ve been tryin’ to get the feelin’ again -

High up where the stallion meets the sun
I could love you
Build my world around you
Never leave you till my life is doneBaby I love you come, come

I forgot to tell Sheba that I had no problems locating the doctor’s office. I went on line about an hour prior to leaving and googled the office and asked for a picture. It wasn’t until I went down the main road that I went YIPPEE….I knew exactly where they were located. GPS not needed. AMAZING !!!!! 😀😀😀😀😀😀
The exam went well. A bit of concern on the oxygen level. Heart was beating. Guess he was alive.
Actually there was no problem with the cardio, but he will need a stress test to get more of a profile. Will keep you posted.Thank goodness for Google and their pictures. It really helps.
I have a feeling that Jake will send you something when the time is right.

We are now home from the appointment. No wait in the doctor’s office, but I wish they told me to complete the necessary forms on line. They did check his weight and oxygen levels and also did a cardiogram. The oxygen level is a concern. Heart is fine. So far things look OK for the surgery, but will need a stress test. No appointment yet. They will contact us. A load has been lifted.
I was up early this morning and did a load of laundry. There seemed to be no air outside when I opened the door. You could cut the humidity with a knife or two. There was no rain, however our driveway was wet and yes, it was cloudy. As we left the doctor’s office it was sprinkling and by the time we arrived home there was a cloud burst. It’s still raining and like you, we are happy about that.
Tomorrow night is Trivia. Not sure if we will be out and about, but should be back in time if we are. Cooler weather on the horizon. In the 70s during the day and between 55-60 degrees at night for the next three days. Back to the 80s next week. It will be as if the rain never hit us.

Good afternoon, I did see the news about that trade.😥 Someone sees something we don’t see like up and coming draft picks. But it’s always hard when someone outstanding leaves suddenly, who was great and very popular. Maybe you need that drink more than me!🍷 You did get a player from the ‘burgh, JuJu Smith-Schuster. He was very popular here and quite a good player.
I have an around the world day🌎 with mom and husband tomorrow so I am taking it easy today. Trying to figure out something for dinner. Weather is very nice right now but cold and snow Saturday and Sunday, ugh.😫
Take it slow with the spring cleaning, it will still be there tomorrow, the next day and the day after. Tell Poppy I am blowing kisses to him from Jake.🥰

Making Choices from a Place of Balance
It is important to make decisions from a place of balance, by taking a breath and checking in with heart and mind.
Each of the myriad decisions we make every day has the potential to have a deep impact on our lives. Some choices touch us to our very cores, awakening poignant feelings within us. Others seem at first to be simple but prove to be confusingly complex. We make the best decisions when we approach the decision-making process from a balanced emotional and intellectual foundation. When we have achieved equilibrium in our hearts and in our minds, we can clearly see both sides of an issue or alternative. Likewise, we can accept compromise as a natural fact of life. Instead of relying solely on our feelings or our rationality, we utilize both in equal measure, empowering ourselves to come to a life-affirming and balanced conclusion.
Balance within and balance without go hand in hand. When you are called upon to choose between two or more options, whether they are attractive or distasteful, you should understand all you can about the choice ahead of you before moving forward. If you do not come to the decision from a place of balance, you risk making choices that are irrational and overly emotional or are wholly logical and don’t take your feelings into account. In bringing your thoughts and emotions together during the decision-making process, you ensure that you are taking everything possible into account before moving forward. Nothing is left up to chance, and you have ample opportunity to determine which options are in accordance with your values.
Though some major decisions may oblige you to act and react quickly, most will allow you an abundance of time in which to mull over your choices. If you doubt your ability to approach your options in a balanced fashion, take an extended time-out before responding to the decision. This will give you the interlude you need to make certain that your thoughts and feelings are in equilibrium. As you practice achieving balance, you will ultimately reach a state of mind in which you can easily make decisions that honor every aspect of the self. AMEN! ✨✨
