Please take your time and rest I am so glad you are an avid hiker thank goodness. If you
do have a mild case of Covid you can beat this I think you already have. It could be a
seasonal virus. Taci I still wear my mask when out in the general public.

When I had surgery seven weeks ago the hospital had me come in and they did the
Covid-19 test and within 24 hours I had my results and the surgery went well.

Let me know how you are feeling OZ is nice today.

Last night I took the at home antigen covid tests. A set purchased from Walgreens, and the other from gov distribution. The drug store one was positive, the free gov ones were negatives (2 were done). Everyone else in my house was negative. Today, I tested from my medical provider and am awaiting the results. It was a saliva test. If I have covid, then it is mild. Just in case I am self isolating for 5 days.
Yes, I remember when you were in the hospital and had emergency surgery. It was when I was a newby to the boards. You had a lot of pain, were surprised it happened. It came on suddenly and no warning signs? Wow, that’s hard. You have some good medical in OZ. I am so happy you are well. Over a decade ago, my husband suffered for a year before being diagnosed with the GB. He went to the Dr and the ER over the year. He got a lot of morphine at one er visit. Finally it was diagnosed and he had surgery.

I’m a little better today as far as the coughing goes. The rain and cloudy weather did help a bit. But the wind, don’t even ask. In the Northeast, the pollen count has never seen double digits. So this craziness is all new to me. I’m glad you were able to accomplish some things with hubby this weekend. The sinus migraines are something else as well. I’ve become very good friends with Excedrin.

I missed Doris Day yesterday. However, I do have a few of those movies on DVD. To think she would have been 100 years young yesterday and her face really didn’t age that much over the years. I hope I can still look younger than springtime when and if I am lucky enough to celebrate a century. Just look at Iris. Now that’s something to try for.

On that note, I’ll end today’s thought for now. Hubby is trying to get my attention. Unfortunately his words are going to t he ceiling.

Taking it easy today. Tomorrow, Thursday and Friday will be for mom. She puts me to shame with all her activities.

Hockey is not over, the regular season will be done the end of April and the playoffs start in May.🏒 But our division is close so every game counts. I was thinking of your family over the weekend because we played Colorado, the #1 team, on Saturday and also tomorrow. Good luck tonight.🤞

Defense Mechanisms

Because we are spiritual beings, we have the ability to rise above habits and patterns to see the truth.

We all have defense mechanisms that we’ve developed over time, often without being aware of it. In times of trouble, the behaviors that have worked to get us past challenges with the least amount of pain are the ones that we repeat; even when part of us knows they no longer work. Such behavior is a natural response from our mental and physical aspects. But because we are spiritual beings as well, we have the ability to rise above habits and patterns to see the truth that lays beyond. And from that moment on, we can make choices that allow us to work directly from that place of truth within us.

Most of our defense mechanisms were developed in childhood; from the moment that we realized crying would get us the attention we craved. Passive aggressive ways of communicating may have allowed us to get what we needed without being scolded, punished or laughed at, so we learned to avoid being direct and honest. Some of us may have taken refuge in the lives of others, discovering ways to direct attention away from ourselves entirely. Throwing ourselves into projects or rescuing others from themselves can be effective ways to avoid dealing with our own issues. And when people are truly helped by our actions, we get the added bonus of feeling heroic. But while defenses can keep away the things we fear, they can also work to keep our good from us.

When we can be honest with ourselves about what we truly desire, then we can connect our desires to the creative power of the spirit within us. Knowing that we are one with the energy of the universe allows us release any need for defense. Trusting that power, we know that we are exactly where we are meant to be, and that challenges bring gifts of growth and experience. When we can put down arms raised in defense, then we are free to use our hands, minds, hearts and spirits to mold and shape our abundant energy to create and live our lives.
