Conversation – 17

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Don’t worry about me being alone at the hospital. I will be OK. I have downloaded quite a few novels and of course there is always a jigsaw puzzle to do. Then depending on what time we have to be there in the morning, chances are good that I will probably fall asleep in one of their over stuffed chairs. Unlike many rest areas for visitors and spouses, this one has sofas and chairs. I didn’t dare sit in one while hubby was going through the tests. And, there are always others sitting and waiting as well. People here do not seem to be strangers, so I surmise I will be passing the time among friends. Did I mention there is a grand piano in the lobby? Also, the Farmers Market is not even 8 minutes away. I probably will leave to pick up dinner for myself and eat with hubby, though he may be sound asleep. Oh yes, BJs is around the corner along with other eateries. Probably, by the time I drive to either place, hubby will be done with surgery. The whole thing is less than a hour and is accomplished with a robot. It’s amazing. Looks like the only thing the surgeon does is make a small incision. Less invasive and less painful. At least that’s what I’ve been told. Oh forgot to mention. No, I do not play the piano or any instrument. However, hubby had piano lessons when he was younger. But he cheated. He could play by ear if the teacher played the song first. He would usually say, “Oh, that’s how it should be played.” Hubby can pick up any instrument and play a song or two.
Have a great day. Give Poppy a treat and let it be known it was my idea. LOL

I do not think I’m brave or a super woman. I just ask tons of questions and do research on line when I do not know all the answers. When we were renting on the West Coast we learned a lot. There was a time when my hubby downed a chicken bone on the Cape. No matter what he did, he couldn’t get it to come up and out. Swallowing was a pain and we did try the Heimlich to no avail .When everything failed we went to the Emergency Room at the hospital on the Cape. They took x-rays but could not locate anything and said he was making things up. In the meantime he had coughing fits and a few months later we were back in Florida. We were in a beautiful condo across from the Gulf. They also had tons of things to do along with an olympic size pool. I was in my glory. Walk the beach in the wee hours of the morn and pickup seashells along the way. Swam in the pool late morning and late afternoon. So much fun I dreaded the thought of returning to Ct. where winter was still lashing out. During this time I met a slew of people where one of them was a rental above us. She had a puppy. So cute. A little ball of fur. Her husband was recuperating from a stroke and still able to drive. They were from PA. One evening we decided to watch a movie in our condo. Everything was set to go. Hubby was putting some things together and ended up having a coughing fit. On the way to the bathroom he hit his head on a corner of the wall because he slipped and fell. I immediately called 9ll and he was taken to the nearby hospital. This happened at 9pm. We followed the ambulance when we were told we could not. We had no idea where the hospital was. My friend’s husband drove his vehicle. We were in the waiting room for hours. Even when I went up to reception, I was not permitted through the doors to Emergency. Around 2 am I was finally let in. They were able to do several x-rays and located the bone that caused the problem. But, this hospital was not equipped to do anything about it. Then I checked the facility. The curtain that surrounded my husband had mold. There were needles on the floor along with other types of syringes. The area was filthy. We left soon after. In total we were renters for an additional 4 wks. .
Skip ahead a few years and we now owned a home. Found a hairdresser and asked about the mams and was told not to go anywhere near the hospital I mentioned above. Had breakfast one day in a cafe near us and started talking to the lady who was by hereself seated at the table next to us. We got to talking. Found out she was dealing with cancer and had a leg amputated. Told us not to deal with that particular hospital because now they had sepsis and mers(sP), Started looking for another house and the real estate person we used had just had knee surgery and was using a thing on wheels for the one knee. Hubby would help to unload it and open it as needed. We bcame good friends. Last year he had to have some other kind of knee surgery on the same leg. He had it done at this hospital and had to stay two or three days. He came down with sepsis and almost died. He switched doctors and recommended this group to us in October/November. I’m not brave and certainly not a “wonder woman.” When push comes to shove, you gotta do what you can. My parents always came to my aid. But, in college I found I had a mouth and would ask questions. However, I did not learn to stand on my own two feet until I was married. Now, I am still finding that hubby has a heart condition. Why were we told differently two weeks ago. I need more answers. Just because a physician tells you one thing and someone tells you something different, you need to delve. It’s the right thing to do. No question is wrong and should not be asked. I don’t care what someone else says. If you do not know the answer, ASK. And that’s what I’m doing. It’s the right thing to do.
