Conversation – 17

  • Sheba2011
  • 11.19.21 2:47 AM

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

    Purple Haze
    Song by Jimi Hendrix

Purple haze all in my brain
Lately things don’t seem the same
Actin’ funny, but I don’t know why
‘Scuse me while I kiss the sky
    Purple haze all around
Don’t know if I’m comin’ up or down
Am I happy or in misery?
Whatever it is, that girl put a spell on me
    Help me
    Help me
    Oh, no, no
    Hammerin’
    Talkin’ ’bout heart ‘n’ s-soul
    I’m talkin’ about hard stuff
If everybody’s still around, fluff and ease, if
    So far out my mind
    Something’s happening, something’s happening
    Ooo, ahhh
    Ooo, ahhh
    Ooo, ahhh
    Ooo, ahhh, yeah!
Purple haze all in my eyes, uhh
Don’t know if it’s day or night
You got me blowin’, blowin’ my mind
Is it tomorrow or just the end of time?
    Ooh
    Help me
    Ahh, yea-yeah, purple haze, yeah
    Oh, no, oh
    Oh, help me
    Tell me, baby, tell me
I can’t go on like this
You’re makin’ me blow my mind, mama
    N-no, nooo
    No, it’s painful, baby

If I Could Turn Back Time
    Song by Cher

If I could turn back time
If I could find a way
I’d take back those words that have hurt you
    And you’d stay
I don’t know why I did the things I did
I don’t know why I said the things I said
Pride’s like a knife, it can cut deep inside
Words are like weapons, they wound sometimes
I didn’t really mean to hurt you
I didn’t wanna see you go
I know I made you cry, but baby
If I could turn back time
If I could find a way
I’d take back those words that have hurt you
    And you’d stay
If I could reach the stars
I’d give ’em all to you
Then you’d love me, love me
    Like you used to do
(If I could turn back time)
My world was shattered, I was torn apart
Like someone took a knife and drove it deep in my heart
When you walked out that door
    I swore that I didn’t care
But I lost every thing, darlin’, then and there
Too strong to tell you I was sorry
Too proud to tell you I was wrong
I know that I was blind, and darlin’
If I could turn back time
If I could find a way
I’d take back those words that have hurt you
    And you’d stay
If I could reach the stars
I’d give ’em all to you
Then you’d love me, love me
Like you used to do, ohh
If I could turn back time
(If I could turn back time)
If I could turn back time
(If I could turn back time)
If I could turn back time, ohh baby
I didnt really mean to hurt you
I didn’t wanna see you go
I know I made you cry
    But ohh
If I could turn back time
If I could find a way
I’d take back those words that have hurt you
If I could reach the stars
I’d give them all to you
Then you’d love me, love me
    Like you used to do
If I could turn back time
    (Turn back time)
If I could find a way (Find a way)
Then maybe, maybe, maybe you’d stay
    (Reach the stars)

    Half-Breed
    Song by Cher

My father married a pure Cherokee
My mother’s people were ashamed of me
The indians said that I was white by law
The White Man always called me “Indian Squaw”
    Half-breed, that’s all I ever heard
Half-breed, how I learned to hate the word
Half-breed, she’s no good they warned
Both sides were against me since the day I was born
We never settled, went from town to town
When you’re not welcome you don’t hang around
The other children always laughed at me
    “Give her a feather, she’s a Cherokee”
    Half-breed, that’s all I ever heard
Half-breed, how I learned to hate the word
Half-breed, she’s no good they warned
Both sides were against me since the day I was born
We weren’t accepted and I felt ashamed
Nineteen I left them, tell me who’s to blame
My life since then has been from man to man
But I can’t run away from what I am
    Half-breed, that’s all I ever heard
Half-breed, how I learned to hate the word
Half-breed, she’s no good they warned
Both sides were against me since the day I was born
    Half-breed, that’s all I ever heard
Half-breed, how I learned to hate the word
Half-breed, she’s no good they warned
Both sides were against me since the day I was born

    Believe
    Song by Cher

    After love
No matter how hard I try
    You keep pushing me aside
    And I can’t break through
    There’s no talking to you
It’s so sad that you’re leaving
It takes time to believe it
But after all is said and done
You’re gonna be the lonely one, oh
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough, no
What am I supposed to do?
Sit around and wait for you?
    Well, I can’t do that
    And there’s no turning back
I need time to move on
I need a love to feel strong
‘Cause I’ve had time to think it through
And maybe I’m too good for you, oh
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough, no
Well, I know that I’ll get through this
‘Cause I know that I am strong
And I don’t need you anymore
    I don’t need you anymore
Oh, I don’t need you anymore
No, I don’t need you anymore
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough, no
(Do you believe in life after love?)

    She’s A Rainbow
    Song by The Rolling Stones

    She comes in colours everywhere
    She combs her hair
    She’s like a rainbow
    Coming, colours in the air
    Oh, everywhere
    She comes in colours
    She comes in colours everywhere
    She combs her hair
    She’s like a rainbow
    Coming, colours in the air
    Oh, everywhere
    She comes in colours
Have you seen her dressed in blue?
See the sky in front of you
And her face is like a sail
Speck of white so fair and pale
Have you seen a lady fairer?
    She comes in colours everywhere
    She combs her hair
    She’s like a rainbow
    Coming, colours in the air
    Oh, everywhere
    She comes in colours
Have you seen her all in gold?
Like a queen in days of old
She shoots her colours all around
    Like a sunset going down
Have you seen a lady fairer?
    She comes in colours everywhere
    She combs her hair
    She’s like a rainbow
    Coming, colours in the air
    Oh, everywhere
    She comes in colours
    She’s like a rainbow
    Coming, colours in the air
    Oh, everywhere
    She comes in colours

    (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction
    Song by The Rolling Stones

    I can’t get no satisfaction
    I can’t get no satisfaction
‘Cause I try, and I try, and I try, and I try
    I can’t get no, I can’t get no
When I’m driving in my car
When a man come on the radio
He’s telling me more and more
    About some useless information
    Supposed to fire my imagination
I can’t get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
    That’s what I say
    I can’t get no satisfaction
    I can’t get no satisfaction
‘Cause I try, and I try, and I try, and I try
    I can’t get no, I can’t get no
    When I’m watchin’ my TV
And a man comes on and tells me
How white my shirts can be
But, he can’t be a man ’cause he doesn’t smoke
    The same cigarettes as me
I can’t get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
    That’s what I say
    I can’t get no satisfaction
I can’t get no girl reaction
‘Cause I try, and I try, and I try, and I try
    I can’t get no, I can’t get no
When I’m ridin’ ’round the world
And I’m doin’ this and I’m signin’ that
And I’m tryin’ to make some girl, who tells me
Baby, better come back maybe next week
Can’t you see I’m on a losing streak?
I can’t get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
    That’s what I say
    I can’t get no, I can’t get no
I can’t get no satisfaction, no satisfaction
    No satisfaction, no satisfaction
    I can’t get no

    @Sheba🦋🦋🦋🦋🌻🌻🌻🌻🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

Hello Sheba, how have you been all these days? And your hubby and Poppy?
Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes and for all the encouraging words you have given me.
My hubby is progressing and I am hanging in there. After he came out of ICU late night Wednesday the 10th, stayed in his room for three days. Came home Saturday 13th at night, both his brothers brought him home.
The recliner arrived that Saturday very early, 6:30 in the morning from Kane’s Furniture.
He has slept in the recliner until last night, which we moved him to a comfortable sofa with lots of pillows. And he slept all night long.
When he slept in the recliner I was right beside him on a different sofa. His older brother was here for 8 days. And was a great help, drove me to the hospital every day and even wheeled me in a wheelchair when I couldn’t walk the very long way the the ICU and the cafeteria. He did that for two days when my legs just couldn’t function any longer.
At first hubby didn’t want to eat, this was while in the hospital, just broth and jello.
I made him a simple soup and he was able to have that the following day he came home.
Now he is eating normally but in small quantities.
The hospital arranged for Home Healthcare, so we get nurses three times a week for two weeks. And a therapist is also coming to the house. He is now walking inside the house, doing his breathing exercises and walking, foot, leg and arms exercises.
His middle brother came Saturday the same night he came from the hospital and is still here helping us out. His older brother picked his middle brother at Tampa Airport and went straight to the hospital. His older brother went back home Sunday the 14th morning, flew out of Tampa.
Hubby has taken two showers, we have a shower seat that was purchased for his mom (now is 89 years) , back in 2019 when she visited us, she too had this operation in 2017.
And his older brother had the same Cabbage procedure last year which hubby flew up to Minnesota to help.
I have been busy, I am Administrating medicines, taking temperature, blood pressure, glucose and keeping an eye on his oxygen and heart beat. Specially when he takes his walks in the house. I am notating everything in a log. In the morning he has to get on the scale and weight himself keeping an eye making sure he doesn’t gain more the two pounds and writing his weight in the log. Actually, he has lost a few pounds.
I am quite tired, cooking more than before, cleaning, washing, laundry, cleaning. There’s always something to do. And my body hurts all over. I have done things I thought I couldn’t do, and haven’t in a long time😆
    Take Cara Sheba

    @sheba2011

Good evening. Last night we went out to dinner. Hubby felt like a pizza and so I went on line to find a place. Found one about 6 miles from home. Not far, but tons of traffic lights to get there. We were the only ones there at 7 pm. But we stayed. The reviews were good and I wanted to give it a try. I decided on a grinder and hubby went that route as well. This place did not disappoint. Actually, I had the best grinder ever and hubby said the same. They sure piled it on and we ended taking it home. Definitely will return. There’s a couple more places on the list.

Tonight I will be making fresh caught salmon. Not sure if I will make it with rice or the Japanese noodles which are all protein. The salad is ready. I just noticed that we will need more veggies by the weekend. Guess a trip to the Farmer’s Market is in order. Costco is on the list as well and I see their booklet is only good until a week from Sunday. Yikes!!!! I better get a move on.

It is very hot and muggy here with temps in the low nineties. For a few minutes, I thought we would get some much needed rain. But, as in most cases, it went North. No, not even a sprinkle. House temp with the air off went up to 83. A/C is now on and it is now 80. Hubby is comfortable at 74 and that’s where I set it at just before retiring for the night. I usually like it in the 60s or middle 50s. When I do that hubby puts on his ear muffs and scarf. Too funny. Speaking of funny. You got to see a video in MSN.com. OMG, this has to be the funniest video I have ever seen. It’s an opera singer and her cat. It may still be a part of today’s news. If not, just enter “opera singer” video.

Isn’t it a beautiful day when you get to feed the outdoor animals. Yes, I enjoy the farm life also. Horseback riding is something I always enjoyed. Today, not so sure if I can put a foot in the stirrup and climb onto his back.

Thinking of you and hubby. I am hoping he is feeling a bit better. He is probably still sore but nothing like the first couple of days. Are you home??? Please try to get some rest and eat when you can, but make sure you have a little something to keep your strength up.

Good afternoon Miss Sheba – thrilled all is well after the Echo.😊 That is how they found my valve problem and I have to get one every year. It must be the season or something in the air with all these medical problems.😮 My SIL in Georgia has shingles right now, she is the one who doesn’t believe in shots. My mom is the same way but she never seems to catch anything, knock on wood.🤞 Mom never gets a flu shot and only got the covid vaccine so she could travel. BIL still waiting on the gallbladder surgery.

Did some heavy duty cleaning the last two days with floors and lights. Tomorrow I will relax. Planning on having mom and sis over for dinner on Sunday. She will leave the following Saturday😪 and I will be back to mom Fridays.

Happy you have perfect weather, hope it continues. Jake and I returning your hugs and love.🤗💖

    Helping the Homeless

Most of us know in our hearts that the homeless and the poor are not so very different from us.

Homeless people in our communities are a fact of life, especially in big cities. Many of us don’t know how to interpret this situation or what we can do to help. We may vacillate between feeling guilty, as if we are personally responsible, and feeling angry, as if it is entirely on their own shoulders. The situation is, of course, far more complex than either scenario. Still, not knowing how to respond, we may fall into the habit of not responding at all. We may look over their heads not making eye contact, or down at the ground as we pass, falling into a habit of ignoring them. Each time we do this, we disconnect ourselves from a large portion of the human family, and it doesn’t feel right.

Most of us know in our hearts that the homeless and the poor are not so very different from us. They may be the victims of poor planning or an unavoidable crisis. Some of them are mentally ill, some are addicted to drugs or alcohol, and some are choosing to be homeless for reasons we may never understand. We can imagine that, given their lives, we would likely have ended up in the same place. This does not mean that we are meant to rescue them, as they are on their own learning path, but it does remind us that we can treat them as equals, because that is what they are. Even if we aren’t able to offer food, shelter, or money, we can offer a blessing as we pass. We can look them in the eye and acknowledge our shared humanness, even if we don’t know just how to help them. This simple act of kindness and silent or spoken blessings can be so helpful to those living on the street.

If you want to help with information, you can learn about the services in your area and share the locations of food banks, shelters, and other resources. Perhaps your family would like to have a plan ahead of time, talking with your children about how as a family you would like to handle these situations. Whatever you decide to do, you will feel much better when you make a conscious choice not to simply look away. Amen! ✨✨
