Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

So sorry that the Internet didn’t work for you. I finally realized Friday afternoon last week that there were sales for the Labor Day weekend. It actually took hours of research to find the rugs. Also, what made it even more difficult was that the inventory kept expanding each day. The two I ordered were not shown until Sunday. I would find one or two, but they were over my budget. Others I liked had bad review. I just hope I took the right measurement because they look longer. I will know better when the rain stops and I can unpack them. They are waterproof, but why try at the beginning on a wet floor. The other problem was trying to match the color scheme that is in place. Blues and reds are one of the hardest colors to match and I needed both. Our chairs are red and the small table has a gold base with glass on top. The wicker furniture has blue and white striped pillows. The wicker is white. But the blue will match the rug, maybe not perfectly, but in a pinch it will do.. Besides I have blue throw pillows and those will definitely match. And if they don’t so be it. After-all, our flowers seem to blend in perfectly. Even the reds.

The second rug arrived about an hour ago. This one I purchased from Amazon and had to let the vendor know that there was a problem with delivery. He/she sent me a beautiful e-mail with an update of contacting the delivery people. Again, I like what I see within the wrapping. Tomorrow, weather permitting, we will empty one half of the lanai, clean the area and unwrap the rug. Hopefully, I did OK with the sizing and again if not, there are other places to try them. This is so exciting and will tie everything together.
The hospital phoned this afternoon and hubby is to be there by 9:45 am and surgery will be around 12:45 pm. No food or drinks after midnight. The person I spoke with also mentioned that she felt an overnight stay was what they were looking at. However, the physical therapy team will be the ones to suggest a rehab facility if warranted. However, later this afternoon the Assistant phoned and she mentioned that no medication will be needed. Both the hospital and the rehab, if needed, will supply everything. Just bring a tote with clothing which can be left in the van. I have the new bedding which I will do prior to leaving Monday morning. The mattress cover needs to be flattened for two to three hours. I’ll probably will be at the hospital until later that day.
I still need to go to Aldi’s and the Farmer’s Market. Had to put everything on the back burner until the rug came and my questions were answered. Right now I am in Trivia and doing laundry at the same time.
We had rain off and on today. Temp was in the mid 80s and the humidity was 93%……YIKES!!!!! And I just read about the triple La Nino which could bring colder temps and stronger winter storms. Not making any decisions until hubby is able to either fly or drive and then will look at the calendar.
Back to Trivia…..

Hi Sheba, how is your day going? I am not sure what was going on with me yesterday. Today I feel much better and I was able to accomplish lots.
We had a good rain yesterday and today again. I guess we are into the rainy season.
See you at Trivia tonight.
Take care Sheba 🦋 🌻 🙂 💕 -
The queen lived a wonderful long life, I’m sure the tributes will go on for months as it should.💖
Long day at mom’s with chores, my lunch was a couple pieces of cheese.🧀 Did not sleep well last night so after dinner I will be crashing.🥱 I’ve been enjoying the US Open so will probably catch the semi-final match tonight and the finals over the weekend.🎾
Mums the word!!!🏵🏵🏵

I hope your rug shows up today. Don’t know about your area but so many packages in my neighborhood are not arriving lately. My neighbor across the street has had three in the last few months either delivered to an address not even on the same road or to a completely different name in another township. And sometimes now delivered means to the post office, not your house.
I would love to save time and gas but mom wants to put the pattern of the chair up against a rug she saw at the store so we will be going back next week. Mom needs a modern/contemporary rug that has a good bit of red in it I have checked all the places you listed and there aren’t many red except for oriental. There are two at Wayfair and one at Overstock so after seeing the chair again I guess she’ll decide.

Resistance Equals Persistence
The more we can surrender our resistance, the more we free ourselves from what scares us.
We all know the feeling of being haunted by an issue, no matter how we try to ignore it, avoid it, or run away from it. Sometimes it seems that we can get rid of something we don’t want by simply pushing it away. Most of the time, though, the more we pushy, the more we get pushed back. There are laws of physics and metaphysics that explain this phenomenon, which is often summed up in this pithy phrase: that which you resist persists.
Resistance can even strengthen the thoughts and feelings it is attempting to fight by giving them power and energy to work against. Additionally, resistance keeps us from learning more about what we are trying to resist. In order to fully understand something, we must be open to it enough to receive some of its energy; otherwise, we remain ignorant of its lessons. There is a Tibetan story of a monk who retreats to meditate in a cave only to be plagued by demons. He tries everything — chasing, fighting, hiding — to get the demons out of his cave, but the thing that finally works is surrender. He simply lets them have their way and only then do they disappear.
Now, this wisdom must be applied practically. We are not meant to get ourselves physically injured. Instead, this story speaks to our inner demons. What plagues and pursues us in our minds has a way of manifesting itself in our environment, in the form of people, events, and issues that appear to be beyond our control. But all these external expressions are reflections of our insides, and it is inside ourselves that we can safely experiment with surrendering to what we fear and dislike. It may feel scary, and we may find ourselves in the company of a lot of resistance as we begin the process of opening up to what we fear. But the more we learn to surrender, the more the demons that plague us disappear in the process and the more courageous we will become. Amen! ✨✨
