Conversation – 17

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Hi and good morning. Just read your post and I hope you are feeling better. Sounds like you are just over tired from the last few weeks. Don’t forget you have been really stressed what with cleaning and getting your home ready for family and then the run back and forth to the hospital. All of this takes it’s toll no matter what age you are. I will have my hands full starting today
Hoping to make a trip to Aldi’s sometime today. Also need the Farmer’s Market and Costco. Just not sure what I will fill in for the day. Have tons of cleaning and with hubby either staying overnight at the hospital or rehab I may be able to tackle most things on my list. Thank goodness I had the house powered washed, though checking the front after today’s rain, it may need it again. This time I will take a hose to it myself.
The main reason why this house isn’t finished is that I keep going over the same area two or more times. Hubby has not been able to help until recently. He is in bed almost all day and only recently has started to give me a small hand. He has not driven the van in months or has ventured out alone since we returned from Savannah last year in August. His memory was shot. I would say something one minute and he would ask the same question over and over again. It wasn’t until one of the last three trips to the hospital the day of surgery that I realized the pain was the cause of the problem. He may have dementia, but when he is feeling good, the memory is intact. Lately, for the last three or four weeks (maybe longer), the memory is almost 100%. I am hoping the anesthesiologist will watch his oxygen levels during surgery.
Yep, we had rain all day yesterday also. From what I understand this is the way it will be all weekend. Sounds like our raining season is finally here. All that is missing is the scent of pine which would make me feel like a young kid at summer camp. There was no thunder or lightning. Just a beautiful, wet, summer day. The plants and grass look amazing.
Thank your family for their wonderful prayers. Between them and my rainbows I hope everything goes well. I will be at the hospital Monday. I have a couple of novels I am currently reading along with Kindle for the jigsaws. Oh yes, and a couple of bottles of water. And yes, following surgery, we both like the idea of rehab and just hope they understand when we say no to the one they have in mind.
Hubby had all the tests necessary on Wednesday. Our physician phoned this morning for some info and I thought they were calling to say something was wrong. But all tests came out more than OK. So now I am a happy person. I just wish that the neurologist would send us a report or call. I will ask the surgeon’s assistant if she has heard anything. I cannot believe that there was no follow up by his office. Meanwhile I did some research on my own and have another name to contact when hubby is feeling OK.
Well, tonight is Trivia. I hope to see you. Don’t push to make the game if you are tired. Me, I usually pass out at the computer and wake up between 3 am and 4 am. Anyway, please try to get some rest. Oh, don’t forget about the Vitamin E cream for hubby’s surgical area. It prevents alot of scarring, though it will still show in some areas, but no where as vivid. That reminds me, I will need some also. Well, it’s beddy time for me. Pleasant dreams to us and that includes our hubbys’.

Good evening to you and xango. I was up early today in anticipation of getting some work done. But something told me to read the news and so I used Kindle. At 10 AM there was some news that the Queen was not able to do the rest of her duties using I surmise something with Zoom. She was told by her physician to rest. A little while later I see pictures of her great grandchildren holding hands with Prince William and Katherine going to their first day of school. So cute. The new Prime Minister then said that the family were called to the castle and she would give more news around 6 pm. That did not sound too good. I then saw pictures of Prince William and a separate picture of Prince Harry arriving at the castle. I decided to go to the computer and check. Around 1 pm our time in the northeast, there was breaking news that the Queen had past. This happened all too fast. There were pictures yesterday of her meeting with the new PM, and though she looked tired and frail, I just chalked it up to a rough day. Prince Charles is now King and Carmella is Queen Consort. England and her kingdoms will now be in mourning for the next twelve days. The Queen was well liked by many and I surmise I will not be the only one who will miss her. She was smart. She was friendly. And she was able to keep up with the times. She was loved by many and many of those were people around our Universe. She lived a beautiful and wonderful life. All of us will ever be so lucky to reach that age and then some and have our memory be as clear as hers. May she RIP. A job well done up and to the end.
The phone rang early this morning. Our new landscaper called to say he was behind schedule due to the rain during the week. Funny, we saw no droplets but did see the clouds that went in another direction. However, he would be here tomorrow. I think not. I was up at dawn and looked outside. The clouds were just showing the signs of sunrise in a beautiful shade of pink. At 9am it was cloudy. And soon thereafter the rain began and it rained all day. No thunder. No streaks of lightning. Just a good rain storm that was heavy at times and light at others. More of the same is expected tomorrow through the weekend. I surmise we are finally feeling the beginnings of the raining season. Temp was in the 80s and so was the humidity. Sinuses are good. After the phone call I tried to contact the surgeon’s assistant and knew from her voice mail that she wasn’t in today. I left a message. Even if I do not hear back, I made the decision to pack at least a week’s worth of clothing for hubby including his meds. The clothing will remain in the car. Since I will be carrying a small tote with a book and Kindle, I will carry all his meds with me so they are not in a hot car. I will be writing the prescripts needed following surgery on a pad and those taken daily will be in his pillbox for a week. Not sure about the vitamins, but I do know that he will need two 81mg of Aspirin per day. I will include that in the weekly thing or will just have the bottle. I would rather be safe than sorry. Tomorrow I will go through his clothes so I can start the laundry process.
One rug has been received and is still rolled in plastic. Because of the rain I did not put it out. Funny, for some reason, it looks larger than what I originally measured. I’m not worried because there are other areas that it will fit. The other rug was supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but will received a notice that it was out today with FEDEX. Well, it was not delivered and so I checked. Seems the driver could not find the number on our house. Hmm……I checked. It was still there on the side . So I checked again and read the route. The driver was in a different town. He did not read the address correctly. I made a phone call to FedEx and gave them the necessary info. And yes, I also included our phone number in case he gets lost. Fingers crossed that it will be delivered. If not, I will have it returned to sender.
Have a great evening. Pleasant dreams to all.

@oodiebom 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴
Hi Oodie, just wanted to wish you and your hubby well wishes for his up coming surgery.
I hope you are able to obtain all the answers to your questions.
Do you know if the facility has a doctor or and nurse practitioner? Some do and some don’t. Also does the facility has a farmacy?
I know you got this handled, and the best for your hubby.
We will be keeping you and your hubby in our prayers for a great success.
Take care Oodie 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴 -

@Sheba🦋🦋🦋🌻🌻🌻🦋🦋🦋
Hi Sheba, I hope you are having a good day.
I am not feeling so good today. Not sure what it is, feel like I stayed up all night. The thing is I didn’t, I slept well. I also feel I have brain fog😬.
Well I still cooked today. I made my soup and for hubby I made a Greek style Chickpeas Stew from a recipe I found on YouTube. I also have a bread pudding in the oven.
I just felt like having a warm dessert. We had a huge storm come through, it poured lots of rain. And the air feels wet, or is it just me thinking of winter😁.
Take care Sheba 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️ -
Getting ready for mom Friday. Spent all day online looking for rugs for mom. She saw one she liked at one of the furniture stores but I want to give her some other options. I may have carpal tunnel again by the end of the day with all my clicking.😮 Will go next week to order her chair.
Perfect weather in the ‘burgh, the rain has finally moved out for a couple days.🌞😊 Temps in upper 70s, no humidity and slight breeze. Sis is roasting out in Cali.🔥 Picked up some mums, hard to believe fall comes in two weeks.🍂🍁
Sending hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💗

I found one of my rugs at Overstock and another at Amazon. I had also checked Walmart, Target, Wayfair, Lowes, Home Depot, and when I found a few I liked started going to some of the furniture stores in our area on line to compare prices. Overstock not only had the best price, but free shipping. Oh yes, I also checked the three wholesale clubs. No work got done on the house because I was on the computer both day and night looking at rugs until I was blue in the face. One rug received and though I haven’t opened the plastic wrap I can see the blue shade and it is absolutely breathtaking. However, it looks too big for the area and if it is, there are other areas that I can try. If not here, Cape Cod. The other rug which was supposed to be delivered Friday was out for delivery yesterday. Only problem, they could not find my house. I contacted the company and gave them additional info and also had the dealer make a call as well. They have our phone number in case they need help. When the rain stops, I will venture out to the lanai to move things around and to sweep the areas. Cannot wait to see how it all comes together. On the chair for your mom. You may be able to contact the store directly if you have the item number, etc.. May save some gas and your piece of mind.

Life’s Travails
Each time we break through, we reach a new understanding of the strength we store within ourselves.
We have all faced moments in our lives when the pressure mounts beyond what we feel we can handle, and we find ourselves thinking that we do not have the strength to carry on. Sometimes we have just gotten through a major obstacle or illness only to find another one waiting for us the moment we finally catch our breath. Sometimes we endure one loss after another, wondering when we will get a break from life’s travails. It does not seem fair or right that life should demand more of us when we feel we have given all we can, but this is the way life works.
When we look back on our lives, we can see that we have survived many trials and surmounted many obstacles, often to our own amazement. In each of those instances, we had to break through our ideas about how much we could handle and go deeper into our hidden reserves. Think of it like a frozen lake: it appears impenetrable, but when we break through it, we find a deep reservoir. When we break through the thought that we don’t have more to give or to even fall back on, we can find a well of energy and inspiration trapped beneath. Sometimes we break through by cutting a hole in our resistance with our willpower, and sometimes we melt the ice with compassion for our predicament and ourselves. Either way, each time we break through, we reach a new understanding of the strength we store within ourselves.
When we find ourselves up against that barrier of thinking we cannot handle our situation, we may find that the kindest choice is to love ourselves and our resistance too. We can simply accept that we are overwhelmed, exhausted, and stretched and offer ourselves loving kindness and compassion. If we can extend the unconditional warmth of a mother’s love to ourselves, before we know it, the ice will begin to melt. AMEN! ✨✨
