Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

I am doing some cleaning and now taking a break. I was up all night coughing. Every couple of hours I was taking a sinus pill and finally fell sound asleep. The phone woke me and I decided to answer. It was our new landscaper and guess next week he wants the cars moved. Weather permitting he will be here Monday.
Today we had a thunderstorm and the lanai is now a small lake. Hope to start working on it before the week is out. Hubby isn’t doing too well. Our appointment is in three weeks and I am really concerned. Been in bed all day with the usual back and knee pain. I really need to do some marketing. I am out of fruit and veggies. I also need to replenish the freezer with some easy to make meals on the spur of the moment. I would have gone out today, but didn’t want to leave hubby too long.
I hope everything is OK with xango. I think her hubby has an appointment this week which includes a stress test.
We are watching the tropics again.

Well, if I was single you and I would be having a low down showdown!! I think I told you when I saw the movie that I hope he’s nominated for an Oscar. He was fabulous.

Suspicious Minds
Song by Elvis PresleyWe’re caught in a trap
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Why can’t you see
What you’re doing to me
When you don’t believe a word I say?
We can’t go on together
With suspicious minds (suspicious minds)
And we can’t build our dreams
On suspicious minds
So if an old friend I know
Stops by to say hello
Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?
Here we go again
Asking where I’ve been
You can’t see the tears are real, I’m crying
(Yes I’m crying)
We can’t go on together
With suspicious minds (suspicious minds)
And we can’t build our dreams
On suspicious minds
Oh, let our love survive
I’ll dry the tears from your eyes
Let’s don’t let a good thing die
When honey, you know I’ve never lied to you
Mmm, yeah, yeah
We’re caught in a trap
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Why can’t you see
What you’re doing to me
When you don’t believe a word I say?
Well, don’t you know I’m caught in a trap?
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Well, don’t you know I’m caught in a trap?
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Well, don’t you know I’m caught in a trap?
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Well, don’t you know I’m caught in a trap?
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Well, don’t you know I’m caught in a trap?
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Well, don’t you know I’m caught in a trap?
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Well, don’t you know I’m caught in a trap? -
Peace Out Peeps enjoy your evening and stay safe. ✨

If I Can Dream
Song by Elvis PresleyThere must be lights burning brighter somewhere
Got to be birds flying higher in a sky more blue
If I can dream of a better land
Where all my brothers walk hand in hand
Tell me why, oh why, oh why can’t my dream come true
Oh why
There must be peace and understanding sometime
Strong winds of promise that will blow away the doubt and fear
If I can dream of a warmer sun
Where hope keeps shining on everyone
Tell me why, oh why, oh why won’t that sun appear
We’re lost in a cloud
With too much rain
We’re trapped in a world
That’s troubled with pain
But as long as a man
Has the strength to dream
He can redeem his soul and fly
Deep in my heart there’s a trembling question
Still I am sure that the answer, answer’s gonna come somehow
Out there in the dark, there’s a beckoning candle, yeah
And while I can think, while I can talk
While I can stand, while I can walk
While I can dream
Oh, please let my dream
Come true
Right now
Let it come true right now
Oh yeah -
Hound Dog
Song by Elvis PresleyYou ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine
Well, they said you was high-classed
Well, that was just a lie
Yeah, they said you was high-classed
Well, that was just a lie
Yeah, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine
Well, they said you was high-classed
Well, that was just a lie
Yeah, they said you was high-classed
Well, that was just a lie
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine
Well, they said you was high-classed
Well, that was just a lie
Ya know they said you was high-classed
Well, that was just a lie
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
You ain’t no friend of mine
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog -
In the Ghetto
Song by Elvis PresleyAs the snow flies
On a cold and gray Chicago mornin’
A poor little baby child is born
In the ghetto
(In the ghetto)
And his mama cries
‘Cause if there’s one thing that she don’t need
It is another hungry mouth to feed
In the ghetto
(In the ghetto)
People, don’t you understand
The child needs a helping hand
Or he’ll grow to be an angry young man some day
Take a look at you and me
Are we too blind to see?
Do we simply turn our heads
And look the other way
Well, the world turns
And a hungry little boy with a runny nose
Plays in the street as the cold wind blows
In the ghetto
(In the ghetto)
And his hunger burns
So he starts to roam the streets at night
And he learns how to steal
And he learns how to fight
In the ghetto
(In the ghetto)
Then one night in desperation
The young man breaks away
He buys a gun, steals a car
Tries to run, but he don’t get far
And his mama cries
As a crowd gathers ’round an angry young man
Face down on the street with a gun in his hand
In the ghetto
(In the ghetto)
And as her young man dies
(In the ghetto)
On a cold and gray Chicago mornin’
Another little baby child is born
In the ghetto
(In the ghetto)
And his mama cries
(In the ghetto)
(In the ghetto)

Another beautiful day in the ‘burgh. Tomorrow will be mid 80s with severe thunderstorms⛈ late afternoon and evening and fall weather behind that.🍁🍂 Hope this is it for your A/C and I hope I don’t have to turn the furnace on in a couple days. Too early for that.
Took it easy today, swept the few rugs I have and cooked a quick dinner. Tomorrow will do some grocery shopping and errands before the storms. Getting a flu shot over the weekend. Just finished picking our hockey games, season starts in a few weeks.🏒

The Uniqueness of Our Lives
How we respond to life is a testament to our humanity and individuality.
Our view of the universe is largely determined by our experiences. It is when we are caught off guard by the spontaneity of existence that we are most likely to respond authentically, even when our feelings do not correspond with others’. Events that arouse strong emotions in us or are surprising in nature can be disquieting, for it is often in their aftermath that we discover how profoundly our histories have shaped us. The reactions that differ from our peers’ can be upsetting because they force us to confront the uniqueness of our lives.
When this happens, we may feel driven to dismiss our feelings as irrational or incorrect. But reactions themselves are neither right nor wrong. The forces that sculpted our development are not the same forces that shaped the development of our relatives, friends, colleagues, or neighbors. There is no reason to believe that one person’s reaction to a particular event is somehow more valid than another’s. How we respond to the constant changes taking place in the world around us is a product of our history, a testament to our individuality, and a part of the healing process that allows us to address our past in a context we can grasp in the present.
Life’s pivotal events can provide you with a way to define yourself as a unique and matchless being, but you must put aside the judgments that might otherwise prevent you from gaining insight into your distinct way of interpreting the world. Try to recognize your feelings without categorizing or evaluating them. When you feel unsure of the legitimacy of your reactions, remember that cultural, sociological, spiritual, and familial differences can cause two people to interpret a single event in widely dissimilar ways. Examining your responses can show you that your emotional complexity is something to be valued, because it has made you who you are today. Amen! ✨✨
