Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

I am now having fun putting everything together all at the same time. Getting rid of clutter and things that have not been used in six or more months means someone else can enjoy my purchase. I am working in the MB and Bath. The guys pulled the computer a part and it took me a few hours to put it back. Today I worked on the printer and that is working fine. I’ve gone through the cabinet that the printer sits upon and found a new camera. Never been out of the box. To think I was trying to think where my cameras are and then decided to start looking for one. This was the most delightful surprise.
We decided to try a laminate and a vinyl for the guest bathroom. Since our subfloors were never properly installed there was a total mess here where they were coming up. I had no idea how much of a problem we had until we needed a plumber. I cannot begin to tell you what we have gone through in the past month and a half. We also knew that we would have to pull everything apart in order to see what was really going on. That included all the rooms and the bottom cabinets in the kitchen though the floor was tiled. This is what happens in Florida when construction goes up one, two and three to make communities. Sometimes the inspection pretends to exist while receiving gifts from whomever. Anyway, the laminate we chose has the look and feel of real hardwood. The vinyl floor for the bathroom looked good and seemed to give the laminate an added boost. We also searched high and low for a good contractor. Finally resorted to the Internet and the Better Business Bureau and found someone with not only a 5+ rating from BBB but also a 5+ from previous homeowners. They came in, an estimate was given that was not in our budget and they did it no questions asked. Professionalism all the way. It took only two days to mess up our house and only two days to put the flooring together and repair. He also happened to check our shelving in our closets and also the kitchen cabinets and did not like what he felt. So, my cabinets in the kitchen were given better hardware which we were supposed to have in the first place and the shelving in the closets in the bedroom the same as the hallway closets. Our clothes were all in the living room wherever there was a space. Of course I had to clean following this, but it was well worth it. I did the kitchen first and then the MB closets following. Tonight I will put our small bookcase together and put the books back. These people were immaculate. The house never looked so good. The books are blocking my hubby’s path to the bathroom, so I will work on that and then retire for the night. It will be just the two of us for Thanksgiving. Not sure if we will order out or will making something homemade.
I forgot to tell you that the laminate also was also used in the bathroom. The vinyl flooring did not come together as it should. Besides the boxes we received were nothing like the sample. These were black in color, where the one we wanted was a light grain with some dark oak. Not only that, but it was cheaply made. The edges were non existent and it broke as it came out of the box. Luckily, the store contacted us and I gave them our opinion. The money will be refunded. However, it cannot be returned to the store nor is there a pickup. So we can keep what we have or give it away or just throw it out.
Hubby had a real hard time with his Physical Therapy today. He thought it would be an easy time. But each appointment is something different. So starting tomorrow we will begin walking. We will do a few blocks and then return. He needs to exercise the heart as well, but the real workout will not be right away. We will go slow and increase when we can. I was hoping for the beach, but he really needs to be close to home where he can sit when needed. Depending on the weather we can start tomorrow. His next appointment is Monday and Wednesday. At least with my cleaning yesterday and today he is sneezing and coughing less. That’s enough news for one evening. Have a nice evening.

I wonder whatever happened to her. I too remember this song. ✨😎I always thought
she was pretty. I was young when this came out but it played a lot on the radio and I love
a great voice. ✨At Seventeen
Song by Janis IanI learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth
And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say “Come dance with me”
And murmured vague obscenities
It isn’t all it seems
At seventeen
A brown eyed girl in hand-me-downs
Whose name I never could pronounce
Said, “Pity, please, the ones who serve
They only get what they deserve”
And the rich relationed hometown queen
Marries into what she needs
With a guarantee of company
And haven for the elderly
Remember those who win the game
Lose the love they sought to gain
In debentures of quality
And dubious integrity
Their small-town eyes will gape at you
In dull surprise when payment due
Exceeds accounts received
At seventeen
To those of us who knew the pain
Of valentines that never came
And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball
It was long ago and far away
The world was younger than today
When dreams were all they gave for free
To ugly duckling girls like me
We all play the game, and when we dare
To cheat ourselves at solitaire
Inventing lovers on the phone
Repenting other lives unknown
They call and say, “Come dance with me”
And murmur vague obscenities
At ugly girls like me
