Conversation – 17

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

I wonder whatever happened to her. I too remember this song. ✨😎I always thought
she was pretty. I was young when this came out but it played a lot on the radio and I love
a great voice. ✨
At Seventeen
Song by Janis IanI learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth
And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say “Come dance with me”
And murmured vague obscenities
It isn’t all it seems
At seventeen
A brown eyed girl in hand-me-downs
Whose name I never could pronounce
Said, “Pity, please, the ones who serve
They only get what they deserve”
And the rich relationed hometown queen
Marries into what she needs
With a guarantee of company
And haven for the elderly
Remember those who win the game
Lose the love they sought to gain
In debentures of quality
And dubious integrity
Their small-town eyes will gape at you
In dull surprise when payment due
Exceeds accounts received
At seventeen
To those of us who knew the pain
Of valentines that never came
And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball
It was long ago and far away
The world was younger than today
When dreams were all they gave for free
To ugly duckling girls like me
We all play the game, and when we dare
To cheat ourselves at solitaire
Inventing lovers on the phone
Repenting other lives unknown
They call and say, “Come dance with me”
And murmur vague obscenities
At ugly girls like me

Adding Sheba, yes, your drinks and food and music put me in holiday mood and mode.
It’s been great being on your thread and connecting with you and the other awesome posters.
Glad to be hear and you know no thanks are needed. I will be thinking of you with the drs visits and 3d coming up. ❤
On Mother, still waiting for a contact to get back to me with the medical review of care. I may need to seek out someone else if I don’t hear back soon. -
Sheba, hello and happy 17! Read the posts and pictures and music. You are so sweet and work so hard on this thread. Great job! Very easy and interesting to read,
Hmm, the games you ask? Well last weeks game of the week was a minimum of 100,000 was needed to qualify and haha, i have to laugh (only at myself) because if I get 10k points, then it’s a good game. It’s still fun and relaxing but I have no where near your points. I am good with that though.
Iman’s ts; the packaging and bottle look awesome and she does as well!Have a great weekend everyone and welcome to 17! Remember the song At 17 Janis Ian? Long time ago but I remember it.

We all will be baking for the next few days. There seem to be a uptick in Covid -19 all
over the place. Sheesh!
Here is your pumpkin cheesecake. 💕I think I will fly over after I pick up Oodiebom
and Taci. 😎 Xango is welcome too. -

Nature Boy
Song by David BowieThere was a boy
A very strange enchanted boy
They say he wandered very far, very far
Over land and sea
A little shy
And sad of eye
But very wise
Was he
And then one day
One magic day he passed my way
And while we spoke of many things
Fools and kings
This he said to me
The greatest thing
You’ll ever learn
Is just to love
And be loved in return -

Indian Reservation
The RaidersThey took the whole Cherokee nation
Put us on this reservation
Took away our ways of life
The tomahawk and the bow and knife
Took away our native tongue
And taught their English to our young
And all the beads we made by hand
Are nowadays made in Japan
Cherokee people
Cherokee tribe
So proud to live
So proud to die
They took the whole Indian nation
Locked us on this reservation
Though I wear a shirt and tie
I’m still part redman deep inside
Cherokee people
Cherokee tribe
So proud to live
So proud to die
But maybe someday when they learn
Cherokee nation will return, will return
Will return, will return, will return -
The monkey looks almost human. What an adorable animal.
