Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Merry Christmas to you and to your wonderful family. Have a great and enjoyable day.
Hubby said that the surgery is to repair the knee. This could change when they see what is going on. He will be awake during surgery. Guess they use an epidural to block the nerves and pain. Because we have three steep stairs leading to the house, he may be kept in the hospital for three or four days with daily physical therapy to keep the knee from freezing.

Chestnuts are similar to walnuts because of their shell. You need to keep it out for a day or two. I usually keep them in the bag I used from the market (the one for veggies, etc.). You can make them in the microwave, air fryer or in the oven. You need to scour both sides of the shell making an x so that they do not pop in the area you are cooking them in. When the x opes up, that means they are done and you can remove the shell/covering. Some are sweet to the taste. Some have no taste because they had not ripened enough. I sometimes use them in stuffing along with other things. They only come out at this time of the year. I usually make them in the microwave. Turn it on for a minute and if the shell has not opened, put them in for another 10-15 seconds and keep doing this until it opens. You can also bake or air fry at 350 degrees. Just keep your eye on them. You don’t want to overdo it.
Your dinner sounded so good. I’m on my way. Love shrimp, but miss the taste of the Northeast. I have tons of shrimp in the freezer. I sometimes enjoy them for breakfast. I am a seafood lover.
However, not a lover of some of the fish from the ocean.Have a great evening and a wonderful Christmas. I hope your neighbors enjoy your pastries and cakes. You made me hungry all week. I must have gained 10lbs just by reading your posts.

Silent Night
Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peaceSilent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia,
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is bornSilent night, holy night!
Son of God love’s pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth

Happy Holiday/The Holiday Season
Song by Andy WilliamsHappy holiday (happy holiday)
Happy holiday (happy holiday)
While the merry bells keep ringing
Happy holiday to you (happy holiday)
(Happy holiday)
It’s the holiday season
And Santa Claus is coming ’round
The Christmas snow is white on the ground
When old Santa gets into town
He’ll be coming down the chimney, down
(He’ll be coming down the chimney, down)
It’s the holiday season
And Santa Claus has got a toy
For every good girl and good little boy
Santa’s a great big bundle of joy
When he’s coming down the chimney, down
(When he’s coming down the chimney, down)
He’ll have a big fat pack upon his back
And lots of goodies for you and for me
So leave a peppermint stick for old St. Nick
Hanging on the Christmas tree
It’s the holiday season (the holiday season)
So hoop-de-do and dickory dock
And don’t forget to hang up your sock
‘Cause just exactly at twelve o’clock
He’ll be coming down the chimney, down
(He’ll be coming down the chimney, down)
He’ll have a big fat pack upon his back
And lots of goodies for you and for me
So leave a peppermint stick for old St. Nick
Hanging on the Christmas tree
It’s the holiday season (the holiday season)
So hoop-de-do and dickory dock
And don’t forget to hang up your sock
‘Cause just exactly at twelve o’clock
He’ll be coming down the chimney
Coming down the chimney
Coming down the chimney, down
Happy holiday
(Happy holiday) Happy holiday
While the merry bells keep ringing
Happy holiday to you -
‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s napWhen out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
“Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound. He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack. His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow. The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly! He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”The End ✨✨

Winter Wonderland
Song by Frank SinatraSleigh bells ring, are you listenin’?
In the lane, snow is glistenin’
A beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight
Walkin’ in a winter wonderland
Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song as we go along
Walkin’ in the winter wonderland
In the meadow, we can build a snowman
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He’ll say, “Are you married?” We’ll say, “No, man”
But you can do the job when you’re in town
Later on, we’ll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face, unafraid, the plans that we made
Walkin’ in the winter wonderland

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Song by Andy WilliamsIt’s the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids jingle belling
And everyone telling you be of good cheer
It’s the most wonderful time of the year
It’s the hap-happiest season of all
With those holiday greetings and happy meetings
When friends come to call
It’s the hap-happiest season of all
There’ll be parties for hosting
Marshmallows for toasting
And caroling out in the snow
There’ll be scary ghost stories
And tales of the glories of
Christmases long, long ago
It’s the most wonderful time of the year
There’ll be much mistltoeing
And hearts will be glowing
When loved ones are near
It’s the most wonderful time of the year
There’ll be parties for hosting
Marshmallows for toasting
And caroling out in the snow
There’ll be scary ghost stories
And tales of the glories of
Christmases long, long ago
It’s the most wonderful time of the year
There’ll be much mistltoeing
And hearts will be glowing
When loved ones are near
It’s the most wonderful time
Yes the most wonderful time
Oh the most wonderful time
Of the year -
