Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

If you can take your shower or bath tonight the reason you cannot have on lotions or powder
or anything on your body during your mammogram. Do not use deodorant that will interfere
with the mammogram readings. I know I always bath at night because my mammogram
are always at 7:30 we will be be 6 degrees tomorrow with snow. 😘✨How are you feeling? This time tomorrow you can relax. Oh don’t forget tomorrow is
trash day in your City. I know this because we have the pick up day. I know you have a
special day coming up soon. 😘✨You will need some tea first thing in the in the morning. I wish I were there to go with you
for the mammogram we could talk about a million things. ✨ -
Thank you for the Asian meal. That is something I put together during the winter months. It is so refreshing. The only thing I do not put on the table is soy sauce. Even those that mention low salt we do not use. It’s still between 450 and 500 mg, And that is not per cup, but rather per TSP.
It’s good to warm the body on a cold, winter day. -
Still hoping that either the cruise lines will cancel or your mom and sis will. This virus is now hitting those who have had their shots including the booster. I really do not know at this point how dangerous the new virus is. I know your hands are tied. Both are over 21 and can make their own decisions. I, for one, found being on a cruise and having Covid was no fun. We didn’t enjoy the food, the packed elevators, sitting outside on our balcony and watching people go on their trips and to shop. Both of us could not wait to get home. Consequently, we have not made any plans and that includes traveling North. A ship that I would love to cruise with had 98 cases when they returned to Miami last weekend. From what I have read, the cruise lines are not taking the necessary precautions. Will be interesting to see what happens this weekend.
Hubby and I are back to wearing our masks, social distancing and keeping our hands cleaned. I carry an antibacterial wash in my handbag at all times. Hope your SIL is doing better. How is your BIL doing? Both are in my thoughts and prayers. I just wish there was more I could do.

Tomorrow is Mam day. I was hoping to shower in the am, but in our area looks like the water will be shut off at 8 am. The alarm is set for 7:30 am, looks like I will push it back to either 6:30 am or 7 am.
I didn’t get to watch “Fiddler.” Our free movies are not like yours. We have one area where you can pick and choose. I guess depending where you live, things are done differently. I realize Spectrum is expensive, but Comcast is more. That is reason when we leave we turn in their equipment. Only the last time we were up North, we decided to pay the seasonal rate. We now know better. There are also many perks with Spectrum. You can be on seasonal for up to nine months, However, if you have a SMART TV, you can say goodbye to cable and pay less by watching the stations that you like. The only thing we will need is WIFi.
I surmise we had a little more sun than Xango. Have no idea what the temp was, only it was quite warm. The Origami bookcase arrived today. This one is a different color and the box is extremely heavy. We will tackle it later.
Stay warm. Still watching I-95. Those poor people. I just hope and pray that there aren’t any casualties. This is the main reason why we watch the news channel starting about two weeks prior to heading North. The final decision is made the day we leave. After the July drive, you can bet we will not be making any hotel reservations until the night before.
Yes, we have been wearing our masks. Why take chances. By the way, there is an offshoot from the Omnicrom virus. Will this thing ever end????? Yikes!!!!! I know, this too shall pass. But< I ask

@Sheba
Good Afternoon Sheba, it’s a partly sunny day here and its 74 degrees.
I hope you are staying warm as you multi task through out your day.
Yesterday I made a fresh Roma tomato and onion dish. Which I dice onions and garlic sauté in olive oil than I add the diced tomatoes and cook for a little bit. Fresh Oregano and Thyme, loved it on toasted bread rubbed with a big clove of garlic while it is still warm. It’s very good with soup. Then I roasted some Roma tomatoes in the oven, allowing them to be dried in the oven. Later I placed them in a glass jar and filled it with olive oil.
The last order from Kroger I asked for 10 tomatoes, didn’t remember that it was packages and not single item. Ended up with lots of tomatoes, 😬. But no problem I used them all.
Dont do to much Sheba and stay safe.
Take care. -
Filling Imaginary Voids
The need to fill an imaginary void by shopping is a symptom of disconnection from our true selves.
In our culture today, we are constantly encouraged to consume. This includes food as well as purchasing ever newer items that we may not need, often using money that we may not actually have. It could be that we are trying to fill a void we feel within ourselves, but if we take the time to examine it, we know deep inside that this is not the solution. We may notice how quickly the joy fades after our purchase or once the food we’ve enjoyed is gone, and how soon we feel the urge to do so again. This is a symptom of disconnection from our true selves, so the first step toward balance is connection to our center.
When we connect to our center, we access the fullness of who we are as an individual spirit. We also connect to the energy source of the universe, from which nothing can be lacking. It could be that we have been energetically starving ourselves but trying to feed the need physically, outwardly. Once we make the decision to reconnect, we have the ability to examine the behavior from a higher place within ourselves. We can look, without judgment, at the thoughts and feelings that occur before and after our indulgences to find a pattern. We may want to keep track of these observations in a journal so that we can go back if we lose our way.
Often boredom is the main cause for the desire to eat or shop. But when we connect to our center, our intuition can more clearly guide us to the places where our energy can best be used. We can replace the boredom with a meditation practice, a class, a project, seeking a new job, or getting involved in a charity. We may even want to begin planning an adventurous trip. Whatever inspires us tells us the direction we should go. When we find the place we are meant to be, we become so consumed by its constant creation that the frivolous filling of an imaginary void becomes a thing of the past. AMEN! ✨✨
